✓ Classic Stratego at heart!Great game, eventually found a Stratego game, couple of updates needed to be 5 star; landscape with zooming. Tiles too small:ability to hide captured pieces to make bigger area. Overall great though. Update v1.4 - Landscape support! Much nicer graphics to makes game even better, great support from developer to with emails. ✓ Excellent Stratego clone.I have been waiting for a version of Stratego to be offered for as long as apps have been available for the Iphone. Stratego is one of my favorite board games and this version with it's rich graphics and great interface fully captures the look and feel of the original. Very well done and provides hours of enjoyment. Well worth the price..Version: 0
✓ Good game. Price point a bit high.I think this is a good port of stratego. Only complaint is the price. There are some features I'd like: Stats - wins/loses Game Center - could have which setups you've won with. Versus another player - could black out screen after you've moved and click a button to reveal for 2nd player. Spotter option- newest Stratego has spotter as lowest spot. ✓ Fun... Need a hard difficultyThis is fun and perfect size on the iPad. Lots of people complaining about the graphics but you can change the look of the pieces by clicking on the red castlelike icon. I would like a scoreboard. Sometimes i wish there was an undo button but its stratego, you cant have an undo because the piece is revealed. I would like a harder difficulty, though the computers have great strategies..Version: 0
✓ Need improvements...It will be 5 stars if these features are added: (1) the International Stratego Federation's rule for continuous chasing situation. I was playing it yesterday and it was an endless continuous chase in the end that forces me to surrender. (2) a two player option: both players on the same phone or players connect with bluetooth and/or wifi; (3) an option of secrecy, i.e. when a piece is attacked or under attacked, the ranks are not disclosed. in other words, there is a third person who determines the outcome, so we as the players know only that e.g. that piece that won is higher than rank 5, but we are not sure how higher; (4) an option for the defender to move into the attacker's space if the defender won the battle,, i.e. if player A attacks player B and player B (the defender) won, then he has to move his piece into player A's (the attacker's) space. (5) if it has not yet been implemented, the AI should be able to surrender, this ensures that we don't waste time on an obviously already won game but AI does not surrender... (6) make the pieces bigger for bigger fingers (7) the ability to save&load games (8) the ability to create&save my own setup (9) the statistics of my games.Version: 0

✓ Almost greatThis version of the original board game is good but has a few kinks. The AI is a bit questionable, goofy move choice and it has perfect piece memory unlike humans. No multiplayer is borderline inexcusable, but part of the deal. Completely 100% worth the cost of the app. Also I can't seem to find a way to save my sets for use at a later date..Version: 1.50

Also a more challenging play (difficulty settings perhaps), after all, there are many free apps with more freedom in play than that of this one. ✓ Excellent Strategy GameYou are probably looking at this app because you want a game of strategy similar to Stratego. There exist dozens of variations of the same concept all over the world and over the Internet. The General by Sean O'Connor is one of the best I've ever encountered in the form of a computer game. I've noticed it is very polished and works without slowdown or glitches. This app has so many useful options that contribute to enjoyable play. You get 6 different AI engines from what it seems. Maybe it's just one engine but has 6 difficulties. You get a number of themes for the pieces. You also get a very good selection of predetermined arrangements to play as. You can also horizontally reverse each. Overall I've found no issues with this app whatsoever. It should provide lots of enjoyment to any fan of turn based strategy games and board games..Version: 2.0.3

✓ Controls are hard at first, but once you get used to them, it's great!This is a great Stratego game. The controls are hard to use when all the pieces are cramped together but you do tend to get used to it as the game progresses. ✓ Graet game, Real Board need improvmentThis game is like the real board and very good and can spend a lot of time to play its a lot fun, BUT need this 3 improvements, 1. Save my own settings, 2. UNDO feature, 3. more the one Laval, it dose not have the option the save YOUR OWN setting which I would like to see improvement, (it comes with like 10 or more pre-settings that you can change and it will remember it so I have a way it should remember my setting,) also its very important to have a UNDO button, its not I would like to cheat, sometimes you move a tiny square by mistake or the ipod or your finger moved the other square you have in mind. and it would be nice to have 3-5 levels of difficulty so in Level one the CPU will act like a dummy and Level 3 or 5 the CPU should be very very strong..Version: 0

✓ A classic gameA great game. Highly recommended if you like strategy board games. Known as Stratego as a board game. I'm not sure if it's an official port, but it works well. The playing pieces are a little small, but it's easy enough. Some type of difficulty level would be good, but it's a fun game. $4.99 is a little high, but if you like the game, then it's not too bad. Rough outline: You arrange your little pieces and then try to capture the enemy flag. There are immoveable bombs & army ranked pieces, such as a general, captains, scouts etc. However, you can't see where the opposition's pieces are. They are only revealed when you try to take one of them (but then are hidden again). A great game. Easily 4 out of 5..Version: 0

It would be nice to have the recovery option as well (where up to two pieces can be recovered per game each time a piece reaches the other side of the board). I only gave it 4 instead of 5 because it has tons of potential, such as adding multiplayer and being able to save your own formations, as well as other options like spies can kill anyone, bombs go away after detonating, etc. This really is a good game even without these additions, and Sean does a great job of upgrading his software. ✓ Almost perfectLocal 1v1 is absolutely necessary. It gets a 4 instead of 5 for that reason alone. Please add it asap. No one would complain if you added online pvp but its not necessary. Stats would be a welcome addition as well. Also huge flaw... The enemy 1 piece doesnt attack unless it knows the other piece its attacking before it attacks. The enemy ran out of all pieces except its 1 and it refused to attack me Even though my flag was exposed. It decided to stalemate instead of taking a chance on a guess.
