✓ App needs more workI like the app overall but it’s really buggy and slow, I have not been able to open the notifications area in a while. Sometimes it not responsive and some features don’t even work. The notifications does not show up on my notifications center and I don’t know. I tried uninstalling the app and install back it again and I tried signing in and out. I restarted my phone, nothing seems to be fixing the issue. ✓ A company protecting scamsI recently contacted their support desk to try to report a scam I had, and was told that the report has to be initiated by the seller confirming the buyer. So basically if a seller deliberately cheats on the buyer and deletes the ad without identifying it’s a sell, then the seller will never get reviewed and there’s no other way for the victims to speak out, which confirmed by their agent. This company designs policy only to protect the scams but not the buyers. Will definitely delete this app and use other platform or bbs..Version: 15.5.0

✓ No results foundThe latest update has broken the search function on this app for cars. When searching or using a saved search it says “ah, no results found” but has the little boxe below saying there are 54 results found, it doesn’t display them though. This is really annoying. I am leaving this review in hope the developer fixes this bug. I have removed and reinstalled to it avail. ✓ Illegal Sales ActivitiesI would give Kijiji a 4 Star review, but they promote illegal posts, especially in the rental housing section. Their filters are awful there as well - because they allow posts that lie about their category. So if you are looking for an apartment - thousands of users post under apartments… for sublets and room rentals. And you can’t filter any of that out. And you always see posts saying “women only” “students only” “men only” - which is 100% illegal: You can’t discriminate on sex, job, lifestyle for renting. I’ll continue to report Kijiji and other similar apps to business, housing, and government watchdogs. There is also no easy way to report users, and it shouldn’t be my job to do so. Unless Kijiji wants to pay me. Generically Kijiji is OK as a buying and selling site. I do like it better than other apps, but they are all doing the same thing and promoting or ignoring illegal activity. If Kijiji responds to this with a message that is anything other than “we will put a stop to this” then you can ignore whatever they say as unhelpful or misinformation..Version: 19.37.1
✓ GarbageI’ve bought and sold a LOT of stuff on Kijiji over the years, but the app is absolute garbage — a few years ago Kijiji.ca website became 90% paid ads and 10% people actually selling stuff - the website is now only usable with an adblocker. The app is unusable — too many paid ads, and I am constantly bombarded with ads from Alberta or the maritimes (I’m in frikkin Ottawa). Reviews can be left that say anything and there’s no opportunity to respond or change a review once posted. I can never get the kijiji messages to load correctly, my favourites list is constantly freezing, the ‘set alert’ for searches function doesn’t work at all, and the app always has issues loading new items. It’s ridiculous. Facebook marketplace has none of these issues. The only reason I’m giving the app 2 stars is because when it has worked correctly, I’ve sold a few items. ✓ Terrible App - very buggyUsed to love this app but loaded it on my iPhone XR and it’s extremely buggy. Photo shows as oriented correctly when I take it, then rotates 90 degrees upon posting. And posts look like they’re going through (even got an email confirmation) but then they disappear from my list. ✓ Glitchiest app I’ve ever usedI’m shocked that the reviews for this app are so high. I’ve been using it for years, and finally got so fed up that I needed to say something. The “chat” option in the app takes anywhere from 2 to 5 mins to load any new messages that I’ve been alerted to. Sometimes I’ll send a message and it won’t appear in the dialogue area, which makes it seem like I didn’t send it (but the person will reply to it). Sometimes the app tells me my message can’t be sent, so I send it again, and then there’s two of the same message in the box. I have good/reliable data and wifi so this isn’t an internet connection issue, also all of my other apps will be working without issue and then I go to use the Kijiji app and it’s like I’m on dial up. Also once I deleted a post (bc I had just sold the item) and received confirmation that it was deleted. Later that evening I got a message from someone asking if it was still available. I went to check my posts, and lo and behold, somehow, the post was up again? Glitchy. You guys are the biggest name in online classifieds, make a better app..Version: 12.17.0

✓ App has become garbage to the point of unusableThey’ve made the ads (that they sell) so sensitive to the touch that you can’t effectively scroll without opening a browser for whatever garbage they have an advertisement for. I’m talking about the ads on the site, not people’s Kijiji listings. Like ads for Telus (another trash company) or whatever. Also, regarding kijiji in general, they allow way too many business listings, top ads, etc. It could be so much more useful but they’ve really degraded their service to the point that Facebook Marketplace is the only place to go for this kind of buying/selling. ✓ Do not updateFix your app. Updated few months ago now my recent searches add a new one every time I change a filter or location. The filters are broken. It’ll show 22 results yet nothing shows up refresh page scroll down I’ll see 1 or 2 of the results and that’s it. ✓ Not the same anymore...Kijiji used to be a wonderfully effective way to buy & sell goods in Canada, but the company has implemented a couple new policies that have made it increasingly difficult for buyers and sellers to operate effectively: The Review System - An absolutely horrible addition to Kijiji, this system allows scalpers and lowballers to waste your time sending absurdly low offers, then turning around and leaving negative reviews for not accepting their ridiculous offers. Kijiji customer service tells you to ignore people who do this, but sometimes you cannot ascertain this motive within 7 messages (the amount of messages before a review can be left), and end up suffering to a bad reputation as a result. If you leave your cell phone number as an alternative so you don’t fall into this trap... they’ll put your number into a robo-call system to harass you instead. Well done Kijiji! Commercial Posting - Kijiji has become flooded with retailers posting their ads several times, even in the same region, which ends up flooding the pages with the same overpriced ads that shove all of the private (actual people) sellers to the bottom of the category ranks where they lose all visibility to prospective buyers. Incredibly anti-consumer move that I cannot understand. These are the two major points that make Kijiji a nightmare to navigate, buy, and sell, and while I have been assured by customer service that this is being looked into, I won’t hold my breath..Version: 12.15.0
✓ Keeps turning notifications on after I turned them offI only want notifications if someone messages me, couldn’t care less about the other stuff. I’ve turned off those notifications countless times and somehow I still get them and when I check the app again they’ve automatically been turned back on. ✓ Harder to use instead of easier.When searching, you look at something, and when you close it the app automatically scrolls you back to THE TOP OF THE LIST. You re-scroll down the list every time and eventually the app crashes. You’ll notice most of the reviews are 5 years old. How did they manage to fudge a rating of 4.7 ???
