✓ Spot on!Rarely write reviews but I just wanted to let everyone know what a great useful app this is, and well worth the money! Having just recently moved out for the first time it's hard understanding how much everything is costing, with electricity, water, heating etc. The app is great for tracking your usage inbetween bills, so you can get a fairly accurate price of what it's likely to be when your bill comes in! It's easy to set up, log usage and compare back to see where you've been using more or less. Being on a economy 7 set up it's great being able to easily set up two costs and reading options. Becoming abit addictive actually to log a reading! So much so that I'm also now going to get a plug in 'energy monitor' that tracks real time usage in the house, just so we can see just where we are using everything, especially as our heating is electric as well. The device with this app will be a great set up and hopefully we can start getting our bills down a bit!.Version: 4.2.3

I can easily change it from kilowatts to litres and this easy to use with my iPad as they sync together. Easy to read and understand meter reading. ✓ Top rate appI looked at and tried out a dozen other apps before I found this one. Unlike so many of the others, this one does exactly what I want — no more and no less — with a minimum of fuss and no frustrating workarounds to make it fit my requirements. Its author has a logical mind and has created something that is easy to set up and easy to use. It is really useful if you live in the UK and want to keep close tabs on the costs of your energy consumption. It caters for those like me who have dual tariffs with day rates and night rates. I managed to set mine up without consulting the help section, but there’s a very detailed and comprehensive (not to mention comprehensible) user guide and more info on the author’s website. ✓ Still life in the old dog yetI’ve been using this app on and off for since July 2010 to record my gas & electric readings. Paid for the Pro/Power user add ons so am lucky enough to have them grandfathered in. Moved suppliers late last year so started using the app again to inputted my new readings and costs. So I have an idea of what Bill I’m expecting. And the reason for the new review is that I found what I thought was a text/graphical error so emailed the dev and within 30 mins I had a reply and it is fixed - I had used a setting wrong. ✓ Great App, use it weeklyHave been using this app for just over 12 months now and find it very useful to keep track of electricity, solar and water. Once setup it is very easy to use. I input weekly on iPhone and then transfer to iPad for analysis. I track my electricity in and output to the grid as well as actual solar production. This gives a great overview of what we actually produce and use. Unfortunately in Australia we have a very complex system of charges so I only track production and usage. It is very interesting to see the relationship between our weather, electricity production and water usage, when the weather is hot my wife uses more water on the garden. It would be useful to be able to overlay three graphs , ie power in, power out and solar production. Thanks for a great app..Version: 4.2.1

This app has clear graphics that shows if there is any change in my usage patterns as a result of changes that I have made, or if there is a problem with one of the suppliers. What I would like to see is the ability to look at individual years, not just the current or previous year, but going back as far as the inputted data. I have used this app for recording my meter readings every week since January 2011. I wouldn't be without it. It has never crashed and has been well thought out. Thank you. ✓ A couple of issuesThis is a great app and I can see me using it to keep track of my utilities cost. 1) I have an economy 7 meter fitted but I am charged the same tariff for day & night units, which is fine I just add the two set of units together and input under 1 tariff. However, I would like to keep track of the day & night units separately so that I can see where the energy is being used. You could setup 2 tariffs one for day the other for night, but the required dual rate calculations gives you the wrong answer. So I think an option to enter day & night units separately but classed as one tariff would be great. 2) Water meter calculations. I am charged an annual fixed rate (a) plus one rate (b) for Clean Water and a different rate (c) for Wastewater. My problem is that rates b & c are applied to the total reading for whatever period, so you cannot setup 2 tariffs because although you get the correct answer in terms of cost; the water volume used is doubled. I get around it by just adding rates b & c but there is no way of tracking the two separately. 3) Water meter cost for a period is accurately displayed, however, by default it does not add in the fixed cost portion until you go show all tariff. I think by default you should see the true cost by displaying all tariffs. I am going to give 4 stars until the above are updated..Version: 0

✓ Very Useful & Easy To Use AppI've been using this app for a number of months now and I am really impressed! I used to take meter reading whenever I remembered and used Excel to track usage. Now I just this app every so often on the way out the door in the morning. It's a simple thing but having the app know what date and time it is and the last reading value means I can literally add a new reading in a few seconds. Load the app, glance at my meter and update the value. In addition to this, shortly after purchasing this app I noticed that it didn't export the time along with the date info in the email export option. So I emailed the author, within a couple of HOURS he'd acknowledged the omission, added the functionality into a new release and submitted it to apple for approval. With a few days an update appeared in itunes. To me this is one of the most valuable components of a successful app, a developer that is not just committed to adding new functionality but is actively listening to users concerns and taking them on board. How many other apps in the app store can say that? If you're looking to track your fuel usage and costs, BUY THIS APP! At £0.59 a packet of crisps will cost you more!?!?.Version: 0
✓ Nice app - rate changes should be included in base priceI like the app so far, particularly the simplicity of setting up and dual rate economy 7 meters and entering the readings. Far better than other products where you have to setup separate meters and combine via a virtual meter. I’m a bit disappointed that you need to purchase an upgrade to handle rate changes. In today’s climate frequent rate hikes are a fact of life along with the necessity for supplier changes. I can input my meter reading every day, every week, or only a couple times per month then the app calculates my daily usage, weekly usage, monthly or yearly. Then it provides clear graphs. Now that I monitor my electricity usage I have learned to conserve electricity and have easily reduced my consumption by at least 5%. That's over $70 per year, minimum! My needs are complicated, since on some days my meter turns backwards and I have a "regular" electric meter and a solar meter. The developer has always responded quickly to my e-mails with requests for improvements or added functionality, by e-mailing me directly and then improving the app with the next release. He has shown a commitment to producing a quality product. One point I should make for this review. The app determines cost by supporting different rates for different levels of cost. ✓ Very usefulThis is an excellent app which I have been using for years. Recently I’ve opened an Airbnb with a separate meter and I’m using the app to calculate the monthly usage for tax purposes. You can set the app to calculate the usage costs with the percentage of the standing charges. Entering the monthly reading gives me the full cost to assign which is great. The app gives you a comparison with last year so you can see what the trends are, when to expect usage to jump (winter obviously, but months do surprise) and then to decide if you need to tweak thermostat settings..Version: 6.2

Have already been able to see the difference of installing energy efficient LED downlights. Would love the ability to match quarterly bill cycles with quarter function on this APP. Our bills quarter is not Jan 1 - Mar 31 for example. Australian charges are pretty difficult to include in this APP because of summer rates and various rates based on usage. At first I had a bit of difficulty configuring the very complicated electric bill into this app. I contacted the developer who was very quick to respond. It is clear that he has put a lot of thought into this app and is going to continue to develop and evolve this app. It is very difficult to anticipate the needs of every user in every country and to adopt to different currencies and terminology and the complicated rules of different electric companies in different countries, but this developer is certainly doing everything possible to do so. If you need to monitor your electric meter, this is the only app that really brings it all together to do that. The rate is high from 2PM to 7PM and I needed a way to track my usage during those periods. With this app I was able to add the peak, off-peak, and super off-peak rates and enter the meter readings for each anytime I took a reading. ✓ So simple, yet very powerful against supplier stupidity!I have used this app for years and since a recent move, it has been invaluable. The supplier industry is in a state of chaos, largely through its own fault. Any chances that they can use to rake back their losses by any means (foul or otherwise). In my case I was able to provide monthly readings, backed up by photos of my home, proving that it was their systems that were faulty and not a massive over-use by my household. ✓ Simple and flexibleThis app is very well organized and allows customization exactly where it is needed. I appreciate the way it captures the time when entering the reading! I wish it would show the average useage per hour alongside the difference between two successive readings. I want to track useage patterns throughout the day (see the effect of turning equipment on/off, what is consumed at night versus a busy period of the day, etc.). ✓ Great app but needs cubic feet to kWh conversion for gasHave been searching for an app to help me work out the actual ongoing cost of my gas/electricity supplies for ages – and this looks like it’s the one! Really simple to use (though a more engaging tutorial with pictures may help others, or even better, a ‘setup wizard’ which guides you through the process of setting it all up) and excellent, clear information with the ongoing cost of your usage available at the touch of a button, once you’ve entered in your price-per-kWh and daily standing charges – brilliant! The only problem I’m having: my gas meter measures in cubic feet (ft3) and I give my meter readings to my energy supplier in cubic feet, but I am billed in kWh, meaning my supplier does the conversion for me when I submit my meter readings. Having a cubic feet meter but being billed in kWh does not appear to be supported by this app. As a result, I either have to set my billing up as kWh and give readings in kWh (meaning I have to do a manual conversion of ft3 to kWh every time I enter a reading) or I have to set the billing up as ft3 and give me readings as ft3, therefore meaning the pricing it works out won’t be accurate. Quite a few people have their gas meters as cubic feet, while most are billed in kWh, so I was disappointed this feature wasn’t included. Is there any chance this can be added please? Barring that, it’s a great app – it even gives you an instant comparison price as to how much you could save by switching elsewhere!.Version: 5.3

✓ PowerfulAnother review on here complains that this app is too complicated; I’d say rather that it hides a lot of depth and power under a deceptively simple looking interface. I dived in and started entering historical readings, then had to backtrack and think about what I was doing. I would suggest reading the user guide, then reading it again. Once you’ve got your head round how it works it will all make sense and you’ll be good to go. At one point I emailed the author with a question and he got straight back to me, so if you’re really stuck help is at hand..Version: 6.4.2

✓ Energy EfficientUntil I started using this app, I can honestly say that I had no idea how my gas and electricity usage varied throughout the year. I now religiously take readings every weekend and, as I've built up over a year's worth, I can see exactly when the spikes and troughs occur. This has allowed (and encouraged) me to think much more about how I use my electrical items and heating and, even more importantly, to save money by changing my habits. I'm really pleased that the developer has added the ability to make notes against readings, I think this will make the process of identifying the results of changes in usage (e.g. getting a more efficient fridge/freezer) even easier. The app itself is well-designed and easy to use once the meters have been set up. The setup can seem quite confusing but this is entirely down to how utility companies charge for energy usage, and not down to the design of the app. To the designer's credit, full and detailed instructions on how to set the meters up are included in the app and he also responds readily to emails if there is anything you're unsure of. So, if you're curious about where all those huge utility bills are coming from, you're thinking of getting solar panels and you want to see the effect, or you just want to manage your energy usage a little better, I can highly recommend this app..Version: 5.0

✓ Smart app, but needs redesignI think it’s a really smart app - all you need is to enter your readings and it calculates god knows what sort of statistics and can even help you get a cheaper supplier at a touch of a button. But it’s too complicated. I don’t know what half of the functions do. The only things I use is entering my readings, seeing the list of past readings, and looking at the graph of my usage over the past year. The usage cost shown for my meters is inaccurate and most just show 0.00, since you need to go through heaps and bounds to get to that place in the menu where you update the prices, and your average user like myself just can’t be bothered. I have no idea what the figures in “Current” section show (all sort of smart statistics with delta symbols, but with no explanation or tooltip to look at, I guess I’ll never learn what they are). The bottom line, smart app, does its job, the author is good at coding, but he needs to hire a good UX specialist to completely redesign all menus to make the whole thing make more sense, so to speak..Version: 5.2
✓ Good budgeting toolThis has proved very useful when budgeting my energy costs. The currency accuracy is superb to within a few pence of the bill. I used to pay direct debit but cancelled that owing to the fluctuations in the de payment (down one moment up the next). I thought about a pre-payment meter but then installed the app, I check my use weekly, see the value then make a payment to my account, simple and no surprises at the end of the quarter. Exceptionally helpful to check Meter ReadingsIt’s very difficult to analyse trends in usage when you have meter readings taken at various times of the year and super unhelpful bills provided by suppliers. Graham - not sure if it is me but trying to contact you as you recommend just takes me around in a loop 😤 I have a question. Your App offers the facility to record two daily readings which I use for day and night rate electric. Now having a heatpump I have been recording power in and power out as Heatpumps use these data to measure efficiency (or lack of it 😄). Is there any way to show these two data lines on the same graph (not just the delta). This would give a easy to read visual picture of the heatpump efficiency (known as the COP). ✓ How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Start Meter Reading to Save MoneyMeter reading or lack thereof can be very expensive. You could possibly save money by downloading this incredible app. I have owned this app for over 9 years (since Jan 2010). This app is excellent. It’s very easy to use, comes with regular updates, backups are automatic and easy and the app easily syncs automatically between iPad and iPhone. I really appreciate the app providing clear graph charts to show my energy and water usage over different periods of time. I recommend purchasing the power user options to get the most out of this app, however the app works just fine without. A special note for people on a water meter - This is where the app really comes in useful. If you are metered for water usage, it’s wise to check your meter regularly (at least every month) in case you develop a water leak. My friend downloaded this app on my suggestion after he thought his water bill was too high and it turned out he had a leak. He was spending an extra £30 a month on water than he needed due to a leak. Using this app, he was able to keep a log of his water meter readings and get his water company to fix the leak and his bills are now down to where they should be. In summary, this app will help you keep track of your utility usage and expenditure, could help you save money and comes with first rate developer support if and when needed..Version: 5.5
✓ Good, but room to improveThis is better than a lot of the other apps for energy meter reading. At least you can manually enter the history to give a more accurate view of your usage. I would really like to see someone provide import/export functionality and more graphing capabilities, even a web based support for the service. ✓ ExcellentI have been using this app for the past five years and find it to be excellent. In particular, it is great to have my energy usage data - with all the excellent graphs etc. - that is independent of our energy providers. It has enabled me to confidently switch energy providers, reliably knowing our usage, which in turn has saved a significant amount of money. Whilst some providers - e.g. nPower - provide very basic graph features within their app, they are useless to compare year-on-year / month-on-month if the following year, we have switched to another energy provider. Having this excellent Meters app means continuity of data regardless of energy provider AND the features - e.g. all the graphs - are far superior to those of the providers. Additionally, it is very interesting to see the beneficial impact of changes in our home over time. For example, we see the step changes when we had cavity wall insulation, improved loft insulation, certain windows replaced, low energy LED lightbulbs, etc. For the past five years, this app's graphs shows steady downward usage graphs for all our energy usage. Having the actual figures over this time is great to help make and reaffirm our energy decisions. We do also have a smart meter - Meters app and the smart meter complement each other nicely. ✓ VERY Useful Tool for UK Energy ConsumersI’ve been using this App since 2011, and it’s really useful in monitoring metered energy consumption - in my case Home electricity and gas. This last few months it has become even more useful by displaying graphs showing our actual usage trends for gas and electricity and the effects of recent energy saving measures I’ve been taking (altering timers, tweaking thermostats, fitting low energy lights etc). It indicates that I’ve managed an approximately 30% reduction in energy consumption, and the inputting of unit rates, etc, allows me to see what my usage is costing. I have been using this App for a few years now for two things: I go outside to write down the meter reading, then I login on my laptop and enter the reading. With electricity costs soaring (doubling in one month) during the summer months and the expectancy arrival of PG&E's "SmartMeter, I was trying to keep a daily log of kWh usage and project monthly cost using a fairly complicated multiple tier system. After stumbling across this program and trying to program the rate structure, the math from the program and those by handwritten calculations did not align. I sent Graham, the developer, an email explaining the situation and within an hour or so he offered me a response that was, simple, clear, and concise that rectified the problem, kudos! ✓ Exactly what I needI’ve been using Meters for a year or so and it’s exactly what I need. 1) Very quick and easy to record all my meter readings. I’ve found 11pm on Sundays is the best time to take a weekly reading because it’s the same time I put the bins out - never forget now (weekly alarm on my phone). 2) The price settings are exactly as complicated as the utility companies’ price regimes (so, a bit fiddly but absolutely necessary and much appreciated). 3) The graphs and stats have made me aware of usage and are helping me cut bills (and CO2). 4) Speedy, no crashes, reliable backups, prompt customer service, excellent value for money...
