✓ German English dictionaryDictionary comprehensive, but was hoping for a lot more phrases..$$N$$!!!Version: 5.1.5

✓ Ok but needs workFirst be aware that this $10 app contains ads. Tap on the globe icon to see ads for hotels and other junk. It should have been stated that even after paying you will still get ads. Another weird thing is the list that comes below a dictionary lookup. This list can be quite incomprehensible. You type an English word to get the German. Ok so far. Below the German is another list of words which can have zero connection with the original. Example: look up "glass" to get "glas". Underneath this entry is the entry "stoff : glass". If you click on stoff to see the connection--well you can't. You enter it in the dict to find it means "stuff". What's the connection? You tell me! There are zillions of similar examples. I do like the pronunciation features though and the app is easy to use for the most part..JoeSkepticVersion: 6.1.65

✓ Plenty of entries poorly organizedDictionary has plenty of entries, but that creates a problem. If you look for a word with lots of meanings - most typical meaning is hidden between bunch of other, not so often used translations, so it is very hard to learn basic meaning of that word. In good dictionaries common meaning goes 1st Some minor bugs I've noticed. For example: if you record a sound for a word, no way to delete it. And if you want to record new sound over already recorded - app crashes. Some previous major bugs are fixed (noun gender, unicode characters search...) so I update my review from 1 to 3 stars. Still lots of work for creators of this 9.99$ app.(o)v(o)Version: 5.2.9

✓ Could be better.No luck with first word I tried to look up; "unheimfallen". I thought it would at least have the same features as the free version, but it was lacking there too. Doing the quiz as a Canadian was interesting. There was some unfamiliar British terminology added that made it difficult to get a high score..FicrnVersion: 4.3.1

✓ LACKS GERMAN NOUN PLURAL FORMS- HUGE FLAW!I love the app except for one glaring flaw and one minor issue. First, the glaring flaw - it does not provide plural forms of German nouns. Since these forms are irregular, they are essential to have in a dictionary. The minor issue - it could have more words. I regularly get no result when searching for less common German words. ✓ PoorBased on the many wonderful reviews I purchased this tool. On the positive side there are many features offered that seem to work reasonably well. If one only needs a quick and easy tool for searching very common words along with verb endings this might be ok for you. But if you are serious about getting a good German dictionary this isn't it. There are numerous errors in gender, spelling, and translation that make this utility confusing to use. On many occasions I've brought up these errors -- along with the serious omission of noun plurals -- to the authors. ✓ Buyer beware it Shows adds even after purchase!I paid for the full version $9.99 German Dictionary & Translator + Guess what? After "translating more than 12,000 characters" the app informs you that you've translated 12,000 characters and ads will be show again. The description says nothing about showing ads after their limit of 12,000 characters. Do I feel cheated? You bet! Silence from the author when I challenged them on this. They need to update their description and be honest that you are not getting unlimited use of their app when you buy it!.MMesserschmidtVersion: 7.1.2

✓ Good depending on useThis is a generally good app if you know a little German/English and want to quickly look up phrases while traveling. It doesn't require internet and has some quizes, conjugations, and helpful phrases. But for the purpose of learning German, it could be better. For one thing, it doesn't indicate gender or indicate the plural form of German words when you enter them in German to get an English translation.
