✓ Poor resultsAfter reading fairly good reviews, I downloaded app and have been using often. It is VERY hit and miss. I often (1 out of every 3) get gibberish in all or most fields - and more often, I’m manually correcting at least one field. I can’t figure out why… Sometimes it’s over cellular, sometimes it’s when connected to Wi-Fi. And doesn’t seem tied To whether bus. card are white paperstock, traditional formats or more creative in layout. Other times it works like a charm. ✓ Serious bugThis app some serious bug. It has deleted some of my contacts! Vector to replicate the issue Have a contact with a specific string ie “xyz” now scan a card where the string is in either name filed or company field. The older contact data gets wiped out. ✓ Disappointed...Sad to say that I am quite disappointed with this application. Particularly after having spent a whole 3.49 on it. It has not worked once for me... am I doing something wrong? Nothing is in the correct field, apart from the mobile phone number, but then it is all mixed with letters and numbers... The fonts have been pretty straight forward too. ✓ Could be betterThe app won't scan portrait business cards. I currently have about 50 of these. Please can you make the OCR work in portrait mode ASAP? The OCR isn't as bad as other reviewers claim If the text is small, in an odd font or mixed with graphics like a lot of business cards tend to be, you can't expect perfect results every time. I found building a small platform from bits around my office (I.E. A cup, a paper weight) so the camera was perfectly stable and positioned helped no end. ✓ OKThe scan and OCR are ok but there are some pretty lazy omissions. Firstly it should really recognize that brackets around a zero in an international phone number mean you need to leave the zero out. Also it doesn't seem to recognize that o means office m means mobile and f means fax before or after a number. Secondly the a business card folder is great and I like that there is the original image held. It is an obvious option to just store the card here and not pass the details into contacts if you don't want to. I am in sales and I meet hundreds of people a year. I keep all their cards but I don't want every one of them in my contacts. Also since the OCR is far from perfect you don't want to have to worry about correcting every detail afterwards just the name and the card image in the folder is fine most of the time. Having said that I think it is good enough to use but does require more effort after the card is input to use fully than it could..Version: 0

✓ Good recognition but field position needs work.The software is very easy to use, and the accuracy with a reasonably lit and focused card is very good. However, although much better at separating out first and last names than a lot of card reader apps I've tried, this program still falls down on placement of addresses. Even with the address on separate lines on the card the app puts the whole address in one or two lines, including the postcode. If it works for 3GS then fine but i was given the impression it would work on my 3G, it doesn't. You cannot improve on image enhancement with the dev team suggested apps as they don't exist, also no cam app can sharpen or enhance the card image enough for the scan to works as again suggested by the dev team. ✓ Fine, could be betterWorks OK on my iPhone 4 - certainly beat the hell out of manually typing out contact details. But... I'd like it to recognise UK post-codes properly. ✓ Completely uselessDon't even bother if you a using a standard 3G iPhone. Tried different distances, light settings (natural, incandescent, etc.), and backgrounds. Bottom line is that without a focus facility, the standard 3G iPhone cannot take a decent enough snap to scan and then run the ocr engine. Oddly, I had a similair app called worldcard from Pen Power software for the HTC Kaiser (same resolution camera) and it worked excellently. Not good enough!.Version: 0

✓ Business card reader?? Really?!This Is a shocking application, do not waste your money on it. What is a business card reader if it cannot read business cards? The level of inaccuracy combined with the not very user friendly interface make it quicker to type all the details into your contacts manually. You cannot trust this app to recognise characters properly, therefore you end up having to check every single number and letter for every card you scan! ✓ NightmareAfter loading OS 4.0 I launched Business Card Reader and it crashed my phone. On restarting it has now mixed up all my contacts - the wrong number for the wrong contact. ✓ Not BadI just bought the app and I tested three cards of varying complexity. The easiest required some playing with the phone numbers and I had to move the address information in to the city state and postal code fields. The next hardest needed the same revisions and had a problem with the email where it inserted spaces before and after the @ sign. The final didn't do well at all. On the first scan it thought the contact's name was Ann Arbor, the second got the first name and initial but the last name was lost and the rest of the data was mismanaged. On the average, clean, white background, traditional layout card, it does a passable job and will eliminate many keystrokes that would be required otherwise. I can picture myself using the app daily and I hope that future revisions will allow me to quickly scan and store without intervention so that I can eliminate the piles of paper cards that I inevitably end up with after a show..Version: 0

✓ Requesting refund from Apple store . No support for the application or their Cloud subscription.Bcr.shape.ag is not working, you will pay the subscription fee and you can not get support or refund. Be alerted. I have purchased the app and using it for more than 2 years. After one of the updates for iPhone 6 the app start crashing. Thinking it is because of the old iPhone, I upgraded to iPhone X. Trying to move my 1600 cards to the new phone I had to sync with the cloud so I purchased the cloud services from the same developer. Sync from the old phone was a night mare when the app crash after 5 cards. Uploading to the cloud took 3 weeks and then the cloud stoped working where you can not see your cards at all on any browse. Now neither the cloud work or I can sync my iPhone to get the cards to the new device. Sending more than 10 emails to support without a reply, called Apple and filled a complaint. On their site there is no phone number to call, emails do not get answered. It’s total waste of money and your cards are gone. So disappointed to depend on shape.ag for your business.
