✓ Just 1 Flaw, otherwise greatMy daughter is 2 1/2 and she LOVES this app, she wants "letters" all the time now! 1 thing though is driving us nuts, when she draws the letters she is always hitting the "notification" menu above. It takes precedence over the app and we need to get rid of it before she can keep drawing. Developers, if you could put a lock on that bar, like I've see on another app, it would be a huge help! ✓ One thing missingI really enjoy working on the alphabet app with my son. He is still a little young for the quiz portion as he just randomly selects letter until he gets the rewarding correct sound. I wish there was a portion that was just the alphabet from start to finish. Maybe even in song form. I printed off letters of the alphabet and taped them to the closet and work with him, but I wish this app did something similar, if I am busy helping my wife or doing something else..Version: 2.0.1
✓ Great App!My youngest at his 18 month check up I was advised by my doctor to take my son to a speech therapist because he was not really talking at all. Shortly after that when I got an iPad and found this app I started him working on it everyday. Now in about three weeks he will have his two year check up he knows all his alphabet and several words to go with each letter, not only that he can trace all of his letter and recognizes letters in any orientation and in a group of letters can identify each one individually. The letter tracing should start at the top because that is the way they are learning it in school. Second the section were they I'd the different letters you shouldn't have the answer at the top, they need to know them without help. Have an option to hid the answer. ✓ Best handwriting app ever!After trying out several handwriting apps for my pre-schooler and 1st grader, this is by far the best one. Most apps just have an arrow to show the direction to trace. Letter Quiz, actually has a moving dot to demonstrate stylus, or finger flow. This app is extrememely user friendly and allows to practice all letters in caps or lowercase, or just certain letters that children need to focus on. Can't wait for the cursive app! I now use this app with many children learning letters and matching upper and lower case letters. There is one flaw that could upset special needs students especially autistic students. When matching uppercase to lowercase sometimes line will disappear. The child will then try redoing it but app won't let them. For this reason only I give it 4 stars. The audio is clear, the pictures are great, the question page is not too fussy. The app could be improved by having a few options: option to take off the written prompt at the bottom - some kids may learn to simply copy the last letter at the bottom to get the correct answer, also an option to go through the letters in a random order rather than simply alphabetical order (again some kids may simply learn the pattern of the letters), a button to say the question again (for those kids with slow auditory processing).
