✓ Great game, horrible adsVery good implementation of Sudoku, with a good staged process for learning advanced techniques. I would give this a higher rating, but some of the advertising displayed by the free Sudoku Joy was so annoying and repetitive that it ruined the experience of using the app. It was too hard to concentrate on the puzzle while a flashing banner ad was being displayed. I eventually bought the paid version (":) Sudoku" or "Enjoy Sudoku") so I could get rid of the ads..Version: 4.0.1
✓ UnusableJust upgraded to a fifth gen iPad Mini, and this app has become unusable. It’s great when it works, but it keeps freezing. When that happens it seems to always immediately follow a change in the ad displayed, and the app often crashes after a few seconds. The only thing that still works when it freezes is the Home button, but tapping this app’s icon then returns me to the frozen state. Sad to see a great app die like this..Version: 5.2.7

✓ RozI found this to be the best version of Sudoku I'd used but then it started exiting immediately after firing up. Went through all the steps advised on the web site but now it won't stay up AT ALL whereas previously it would start working properly on the fourth or fifth attempt. Can't email the support because they only give me the option of doing it via Outlook which I don't use. Why not just put your email address on the page so that I can use whichever email engine I prefer? Am now going to download someone elses version which will at least allow me to play the game!.Version: 4.0.4
✓ Loved the app, but does not work in landscape on iPad ProThis has been a great app, but when I upgraded to an iPad Pro, I was very disappointed to find it could not be configured to work in the landscape orientation, which is my preferred orientation due to ergonomics. The buttons, and half of the playing grid appear off the bottom of the screen. Sadly, apparently the developer has lost the technical capability to fix this screen orientation issue. If you have a new iPad Pro caveat emptor. This limitation should be stated in the description..Version: 5.2.7
✓ Best sudoku going! Lousy interfaceThe interface frequently takes over the audio output and kills the audio in background apps. So — you can’t have background music while using the app. At a minimum, it should be configurable to allow the user to select whether or not s/he wants the audio to be taken over..Version: 5.2.7

✓ Flickering annoyingThose of us who are epileptic or prone to migraines from flickering lights find the completed row, square etc annoying after only playing this for 5 minutes had headache and had to stop. It would be great to have an option that when you selected a number it highlighted the row/column that's its in as in your learn examples Apart from the headache I liked the fact you had lots of choice of games.Version: 5.1.4

✓ Such a pityThis game has not yet been updated to work on 2020 iPad Air . Such a shame because it is a great app which I play a great deal Warning: Do not download this app if you are prone to migraine or fits. Earlier versions of the app show strobing ads which can bring these symptoms on. They may have fixed this .....Version: 5.2.7
✓ Desperately needs updateThis is the best Sudoku app I’ve used by far. It has many wrinkles and options that are easy to use. Unfortunately it crashes fairly regularly on iOS 14, which is why I deducted the stars. You completely lose the game you are playing. The app hasn’t been updated since iOS 11 I think, so if you get it be prepared to deal with growing problems that might not get fixed..Version: 5.2.7
✓ CrashesThis used to be one of my favorite games. I’d play it at least once a day, usually more. But ever since the latest iOS update, it crashes every time. I restarted my iPad, I even deleted and reinstalled the game, but I can’t complete a game anymore, and if I hit the hint button, it crashes the app, every single time. Pleas fix!.Version: 5.2.7

✓ What happened?I have played this particular sudoku app for years. Best one out there….until I got a new iPad Pro 4th gen. Suddenly you can’t play in landscape mode because half the screen is off the screen. Portrait mode yes, landscape no. Really? Very annoying trying to balance a tablet in portrait on one’s lap while playing a game. This needs to be fixed..Version: 5.2.7
✓ Not optimized for iPad Air?I’ve been playing this game for several years and considered it my top pick and would have rated it a 5. BUT I recently upgraded my iPad to the current version iPad Air. To my surprise the app does not work in landscape mode - only about half the display is visible. After getting no reply from developers I have to downgrade my rating. Let’s face it, a response of “we’re working to address that issue” is far better than no response at all and failing that, I guess have to find another app..Version: 5.2.7
✓ Shame on you!I played this app for years. Suddenly if you hit hints or when you placed last number, the game disappeared. You got no stats. I deleted it, replaced it, sent feedback. No answers received. Now I see that you can buy a weekly subscription for $1.99. So they deliberately messed up the game to force those of us who play it daily to buy the subscription. SHAME! ✓ Could do with a couple of tweaksJust a couple of ideas. :) May 2017.... Don't like the font sizes on the "end of game, next game" scenario. Don't know why I review as nothing good comes from it!? I think the game should not penalise you for a mistake you immediately correct. Like just now, made a mistake but corrected myself within half a second. Played on then saw I got penalised 8 minutes or something for a mistake I spotted and corrected myself. The game should NOT be so quick showing the mistake and applying the penalty.... A year later and it still penalises you for a mistake you make AND correct less than a second later.... Oh yes! I’ve played about 50,000 games! Yes! That is fifty thousand!!!!.Version: 5.2.7
✓ IOS 14This brilliant app which has been so popular in our family is unfortunately unusable in iOS 14. Screen rotation and resizing no longer works. We hope Jason is able to fix this - not complaining about him, what a great app he’s developed..Version: 5.2.7
