I only then realised that an app for pre saving SMS messages had morphed into a supposed Ad Blocker which surprisingly had lodged a VPN CONFIGURATION in iOS Settings. Although the app seems to work, I think we have to be cautious of an app which uses such a route to get itself installed, especially as it sets up a VPN server could be used for nefarious purposes.
