Typing each thing manually is a pain and if I've done it once I've had to enter it a thousand times. I had to reset my phone, had to renter everything. Upgraded my phone, had to reenter everything. ✓ Clever and super quickSo far my wife has used it twice and really likes the way it works. It takes a minute or so to get used to, but it converts the measurements to the utensils you are likely to have. Re the previous reviewer, I think they are missing the point- we don't have 1/2 Tablespoon spoons and the app automatically converts it to the available tools: 1 Tbsp and 1-1/2 teaspoons. It's a bit weird to see your original measurement show up that way and maybe some people have 1/2 Tbsp spoons (or eye it), but it works for us. The other thing he/she says is that changing the servings to 10, it shows 1/8 cup + 1-1/2 tsp. Well, 1.5 Tbsp * 10/6 = just that and is easier this way. Maybe a setting could be added so that people could choose, but 30 seconds understanding the app will make a BIG difference. I for one am impressed. To respond to the other reviewer, I have no link to the developer at all but my wife uses the app all of the time and loves it. I can't claim to be a good cook and tend to follow recipes word for word, measurement by measurement but she is getting on well with it. To call it 'highly suspicious' is plain daft just because she is enjoying the app. I do agree that an extra option could be added to get around the issue quoted though..Version: 0

✓ Good but could improveThis is a very good App: it allows you to enter your own recipes, change serving numbers (which automatically updates the recipe) choose between US or Metric measurements, choose from a database of ingredients (or enter your own) and displays a list of recipes alphabetically - all of this is excellent. I'm in the UK & had looked long for an App that can automatically convert serving numbers & allow me to switch between US & UK measurements so in this sense it's ideal. I wanted a binder for my OWN recipes (other Apps come with loads of their own recipes, which I didn't want). There are three essential areas for improvement though: 1) I like using both US & Metric styles in ONE recipe ( for example: 1 tsp sugar, 350g Beef,....) but it won't let me do that. I can either have ALL the ingredients in US or Metric style - which then gives me quite silly measurements like 4ml of sugar, so I have to keep switching measurement types before I can make sense of what I need. It would be good if the App was updated to allow use of US or Metric style per each ingredient, as opposed to per whole recipe. 2) It's a shame this App does't allow users to add photos to each recipe. Would be great if one could take a picture via the iPhone & download it to the App - or download a picture from a PC to the App - so each recipe can have a photo. 3) Currently all recipes are sorted alphabetically. It'd be good to have the option of sorting them into starter, main course, desserts, etc. - and/or Italian, Greek, etc. A weekly shopping/grocery list & a weekly meal planner would have also been a bonus, but not essential. Overall, the best App of its kind. I'm very happy with it & would recommend it. Hope the developers sort out the 2 points I mentioned above though as it would make even more user friendly..Version: 0

✓ Culinary apprentice opionionIm not very good with numbers. I use this app all day everyday. It has made my life so much easier at culinary school, my line-cook job, and studying at home. The only thing I would add is a download option, where I could take recipes that have already been typed up on the computer and load them on my iPod via wifi. That way I wouldn't have to type directions in using the tiny iPod keyboard. Other then that, I highly recommend this to the cook who has to work with new recipes everyday..Version: 0

✓ Serving sizerI had a recipe for lasagne for 6 peoples. i use the serving sizer app to upsize to 35 peoples .You put in your original recipe and you choose the amount of people that you want, then add your original ingredients and voila it changed the recipe ingredients to the amount of people. ✓ Getting betterLatest update Finally all makes sense when scaling recipes. Worth buying. UPDATE 2 With the new option to keep your original measurement displayed instead if it being automatically converted to something else this has got much more usuable. Now we just need the option to choose to have the increased measurements kept in the same or similar type of measurement. e.g when the quantity increase is only double why change the type of measurement to something totaly different? Can be confusing. I understand this when the quantity of an ingredient changes drastically but when it just means going from 1 1/2 tablespoons to 3 tablespoons why instead go to a mixture of cup and spoon measurements? Add this option and it gets another star. To get the fifth star an option to snap recipes using the camera and store them in a folder for later entry would be excellent. I often flick through recipe books in shops and this feature would be great. Impressed the Devs are listening. Thanks UPDATE I suspect that the reviewer stm123 is linked to the developer. I love the fact that they claim the crazy measurements are down to people not having a half tablespoon spoon as this is somehow a strange measurement. Come on, anyone who cooks can judge if a spoon is half full or not. Perhaps they're American and weird fractions of cup measurements make sense but not in the UK they don't. It's a highly suspicious review. At the moment it is pretty useless. When you enter a type of measurement it automatically changes that type of measurement to something non sensical. For instance, enter a measurement of 1 and 1/2 tablespoons for a 6 person portion and it then comes up with the measurement of 1 tablespoon and 1 and 1/2 teaspoons when you save it even though it is still set for a 6 person portion. If you change the portion size to 10 people it gives a stupid measurement of 1/8 of a cup and 1 and a half teaspoons. Bloody silly, please keep it in the original measurement just change the quantity. As I said currently unusable. A MASSIVE floor in the app. Have the developers ever cooked anything before? I would guess not. Do not buy this until it has been changed..Version: 0

✓ Absolutely love this app on my iPad not so much on my iPhone 5Yes this is a brilliant app for both devices, however on the iPhone 5 you cannot add photos of your culinary creations nor are you able to easily download a recipe sent to you from another serving sizer user directly, if this was fixed so you could download the recipe/index card/ ingredients this would make it so much more convenient and easy to share recipes with friends and of course those long standing family recipes!.Version: 1.1.4
