I now have your trial - paid-for app - that you want me to pay £10 (I see you doubled the price to £20)a year for. It’s no different that what I already have. Explain. What improvements are there? I don’t want your standard email for legacy customers I just want to know why I should pay when Flightradar24 has a free app that is probably as good if not better than yours. ✓ Good, but overpriced.I’m not gonna lie - Plane Finder IS a good application with a lot of handy information... However the annual subscription that is now required is unjustified and unreasonable. Previously, the developer offered an almost identical application for a one-time fee and this made Plane Finder highly competitive in the Apple App Store, for applications of this type... But then the developer became greedy and decided to change to a subscription-based system. I’ve seen the developer comment in some of the other reviews that he or she is simply “adapting to the changing environment for applications” - what a load of rubbish! There are loads of high-quality applications in the App Store which change a one-time fee and still continue to make money for the respective developer; I find it hard to believe that this developer cannot do the same. If you have money to burn and aircraft is your passion, this application might be for you... Otherwise, stick with the free version or consider the alternatives..Version: 13.9.0

I had already purchased the version of this app that allowed me to use it without ads, and now all of a sudden it wants me to now pay again (and yearly for that matter) to continue to use the app how I was using it previously. I am not impressed and would like a refund on my previous purchase of this app now that I have been reverted to the basic version with ads without notice. ✓ Great app but support is average and account poorThe app is great and barring some mis identification issues works well. However support leaves a bit to be desired. Especially paid account support issues. No responses to issues with signing out of an old account profile when you have used apples subscription. Once signed in with one method you can not swap it and if you pay for the yearly subscription using an email address and not apples subscription service that you originally used then you are stuck. ✓ Very nice appI just switched over from Flightradar24 and love the price and presentation of your app. Now the only cons I have found compared to Flightradar24 are the ability to rotate the screen and alerts don’t always work. I have received alerts from the other and not from this app. Other than that I really like it. Please take a look at the alerts and the ability to rotate screen (iPhone). Other issues I have now found after using this app is there is a vast lack of coverage. Planes I’m tracking will just disappear mid-flight..Version: 13.7.1

✓ Dynamic Island doesn’t work properlyDownloaded just for this, when you add a flight to myflight but it hasn’t left yet, it takes over the Dynamic Island but displays nothing, it’s just black still and looks like it always does, there is nothing ‘live’ on there and it isn’t displaying to the user that it’s being used by flight tracker. But when you tap it, you are taken to that app and the flight you added. Not good that it takes over Dynamic Island but doesn’t show anything to the user. This then continues even after the flight is ‘live’, so it just doesn’t work..Version: 2024.1.2
✓ Not consistentSo this app has failed me on numerous occasions. I tried to track a military aircraft that was coming in, and even though they turned off their transponder for an exercise, when they were with sight if the airport it was back on. Other using Flight Radar could see it, but nothing here. Then I tried to track my wife’s flight in Brazil. When I searched, it gave me an option to set an alert, but it never went off. When my wife texted that she was leaving, I couldn’t see the plan at all, but I could with Flight Radar. I gambled wrong by giving this app money..Version: 14.15.0
✓ Legacy costumerI purchased this app years ago then the 3d and couple others. This has been my go to for years. I would tell everyone about how cool it was. Since I have upgraded my phone recently when I restore my purchase it doesn’t take the ads away and the filter is only for subscribers now. I feel cheated out of something I enjoyed so much before. ✓ Not so good these days.I’ve been using Plane Finder since January 2011 and have always found it to be one of, if not my favourite, Apps. Since upgrading to Plane Finder Premium last year I feel it’s gone downhill and often does not pick up aircraft that my free version of Flightradar24 does. Equally bad, it increasingly shows the wrong flight information for aircraft. Case in point: Today I was watching American Airlines flight AA9820 descending into Heathrow in the UK. Plane Finder said it was a flight from Seoul to Shanghai. Looking on Flightradar24 it correctly said it was a flight from DFW Dallas to LHR Heathrow. Planefinder, you need to sort this out. As I said earlier this is happening more and more but the other App is getting it right. I may have to switch my allegiance to Flightradar24 otherwise..Version: 14.2.2
✓ Not renewingNot the best flight tracking app. I spend a lot of time looking for unique or unusual aircraft and I find a lot of the time, information about the aircraft is missing or wildly incorrect. I have also found that aircraft do not appear on the map yet they are there to track on Flightradar24. I use the free version of FR24 and get as much if not more useful information and pics of the aircraft then on this app and I pay for this one. A big plus for this app though is being able to filter between commercial/military/cargo/heli etc. which is only available in the premium version. It is cheaper than FR24 but I’m missing too much info and non tracked flights on this app to consider renewing..Version: 14.9.3
✓ Glitches galoreI’m a premium user and have cancelled my sub after 8 years of use. I fly very often and just now I typed in my flight number from my flight today and it’s wrong flight. Also you click on a random plane and 80% of the time it’s the wrong details of departure and arrival airports. Another things…the flight times to arrival and departure are miles out. A flight yesterday was descending into STN with about 6 mins till landing and plane finder said it had 2rs 10 mins to go. This is not a rare thing it’s all the bloomin time..Version: 14.12.2

✓ ErraticI used the old version for years when I travelled for business and to identify planes flying over my home. It was always reliable, but I abandoned it after I retired and with the introduction of subscriptions. When my children and their spouses started flying for business I subscribed to track their progress, but have been disappointed. sometimes the app stops tracking their flight after a certain point. Other times there is a long lag, showing the flight in the wrong place before eventually it corrects. I do not mind paying a subscription for an app that does what it says. ✓ A forceful and total money making process !!!! 😡I purchased the original Plane Finder App and it was brilliant!! I used it every day and thoroughly enjoyed it! Sadly, and extremely frustratingly, when Plane Finder did a software update, they took away a lot of the information and detail they provided on the original App and then started constantly pushing to pay a premium upgrade fee to unlock the information that was provided as part of the original App. Their desire and push for you to upgrade is extremely aggressive and so much so that I very rarely use the newer app!!! Unless you want to be bombarded with constant requests to pay greater fees for more upgrades, then I strongly recommend that you stay clear of this app!! The company needs to respect it’s paying customers and not remove detail and information that they had paid for in the previous app, only to try and charge them to pay a fee upgrade to for the same information!! ✓ Needs better tracking!!Why is it that 95% of the time when a flight doesn’t show up on Plane Finder it is there on Flight Radar? The UI of plane finder is the main feature it has going for it but if you’re looking to actually track flights then Flight Radar is the way to go. I rarely even get 7700 notifications from Plane Finder but frequently get several from FlightRadar24. Yes, I have all the current updates & proper settings. I understand charging once and providing lifelong updates to an app isn’t as sustainable as a monthly/yearly subscription but come on, at least give us a choice. ✓ Ok butYes, the bells and whistles are great but the basics don’t work. I keep looking at aircraft that pass over our house in central UK but according to Plane Finder they are miles off track. A flight goes over our house and PF tells me that it’s travelling between two Italian cities. Planes on approach to Luton and PF tells me they’re flying to Amsterdam. I reported these and many others weeks back, just went on line this evening and a plane bound for Amsterdam is flying east over Germany… must be going the long way round. Incidentally, the competitor app has the planes showing on the correct route, so it can be done. Update… Just found another lost pilot, PF says it’s heading for Stansted, but it’s flying west over the Atlantic..Version: 14.10.8

I bought the original separate paid for version (pre in app purchases) to support a great app. At that point it was a one-time purchase price. That app has now been deliberately switched off with a notice saying they can no longer honour the purchase. Maybe this App is struggling to make any profit? Then someone recommended another app. The alerts worked perfectly. Tied into this app for a year now, where alerts aren’t reliable. Beware of this if your plan is to track certain flight numbers. ✓ Free Version Unusable - Cannot cancel PremiumI bought this app to establish whether I could find flights which had been cancelled due to weather. I could not do this with the free app because the ads were so distracting. I purchased a months subscription to allow me to work without distraction, persuaded by the promise I could cancel at any time! I no longer use the app and I cannot find any way to cancel! It does not appear in Apple ID subscriptions, and there is no clear route in the app! I don’t use it often, but I keep it on the first page of my home screen for quick access. Cue a few days ago - I launch the app after a few months of disuse... and instead of getting the app + expected AR button I got a modal dialogue trying to upsell me to pro. ✓ Uninstalled.Unfortunately, a pretty good app turned into garbage with multiple forced unstoppable video ads which take control of your device for 30 seconds to 2 minutes. People need to uninstall any app that requires that you allow it to hijack your device for their business model. You're out of your mind if you think this app is worth having to pay a perpetual monthly subscription forever. It's from aircraft ADS-B data. It's like having to buy a subscription just for the data that is broadcast free from GPS satellites. You don't pay for the equipment installed on aircraft that's transmitting the data. The airlines and private aircraft owners pay for it, but you're trying to make money off of it. ✓ Not as reliable as it should beI decide to pay for the ap last year, as I had family doing a trip & wanted to be able to track them. Worked fine most of the time, but occasionally it did not show aircraft that were visible on other tracking aps. Now it often doesn’t even give basic flight info, such as arrival & departure airports. A friends aircraft is currently sitting at 4500’ above Qld, where he parked it a week ago😂. I called him to make sure he got home safely, & had no transponder issues! I will not be renewing my subscription later in the year..Version: 14.12.2

✓ Almost thereI’ve been testing your software and for some reasons I can see less military helicopters in the area of Panama City which I can totally see when using Flightradar24. I’m kind of surprised as I thought your app was better in finding these objects. I wish I could upload a picture so I could show you. And that’s the other issue…I tried to upload this situation using the Contact Support feature of the app but when you press on the up arrow to send the information, nothing happened. It is just like grayed out or simply just doesn’t work. I’m still under the 7 days trial so am going to stop the subscription process if there is no response from support..Version: 14.8.1
✓ Ads and tracking are over the top.I don't usually write a review, but this app blocked me with a full screen timed ad, which gave me time to come here and write this. The app asks to track me as well, which is insane, user hostile nonsense. I just want to see where the planes are occasionally. I don't need the advanced features. ✓ Stop spamming me.Once again the lifetime app starts showing ads and harassing me to “uograde”. I bought a “lifetime” subscription years ago. If it’s not lifetime then either say so or refund me my original purchase. Can’t have it both ways. I’ve no paid for this app at least twice and In the latest “update” it seems to think it’s ok for the app to start spamming me with annoying & unnecessary ads and blackmailing me to go “premium”. ✓ I feel a bit cheatedI love Plane Finder and have used it for years. When I first downloaded it I had to pay for the app which I didn’t mind as I knew I’d use it. Now they’ve switched to a subscription service which I understand as it a constant cash flow for them. My problem however is that the premium version doesn’t seem to offer much more than the old version. Certainly not any more than I would use. So now I have a choice, pay £9.99 a year to restore the features that I originally paid for or continue with the free version and loose those features like the custom filters (which I used regularly). I’ve given 2 stars as it is a great app but as the title suggests, I just feel a little cheated..Version: 14.9.3

I bought this once!I don’t know what happened but I purchased this app just about three years ago and now it’s useless and if I want the same features I had I have to pay again only this time much more. I’m not real happy with this company if that’s the way they do things. If that’s the case They could constantly keep making you pay after a year or so if you want your features to work. ✓ Slow to open due to advertisingVery disappointing. I seem to remember paying for the premium rather than free version of this app when I first installed it, so I would have no adverts and updates were in real time. Unfortunately every time I open the app, I now have to wait 10 seconds or so to be able to cancel the advert for the developers “new improved” app. I don’t want it, won’t pay for it and shouldn’t be forced to wait for that ad to clear the screen..Version: 14.5.1
✓ Don’t fall for itI paid for the early full version app, and watched it grow. It became the best, most informative, most usable flight tracking app anywhere. Now my money is 100% down the drain. The legacy app is offline at the end of this month. They’re offering legacy users a 7-day free trial on the subscription. Big deal. My investment in the development of this app is wasted. ✓ So Disappointed!I paid for the older version of this app initially and enjoyed many features which are no longer available to me unless I pay for a subscription which I’m unwilling to do. Also the older version has been disabled and is replaced with the current version. I finally had to delete the older app because it is no longer usable. I seem to remember paying $10 or more. ✓ If you’re an existing premium user do not upgradeI’ve been a user of Plane Finder for a few years, having initially bought the premium version and found it to be very useful. It’s very disappointing that the app I paid for has now been discontinued and replaced with a new app with annual fee, where the only key difference is a 3D map. Using the “restore purchases” function in the new app has no effect in restoring the functionality that I’d previously purchased, such as viewing historic flight data. I also note they’ve transferred across the reviews of the old app, which is misleading to say the least..Version: 13.7.0

✓ Military flights missingI have had this app for a long while now, and I used to watch the military planes who of late were starting to leave long white trails? They never used to?! Ive since done some research online only to find accusations of chemtrails? This is becoming evidently more believable as I heard an American airforce plane go over my house at very low altitude to the point it looked like it was going to land in the corn field? It left, what looked like aa Ariel display type smoke which was very wide and low to the ground yet this plane was not on plane finder??? Highly suspicious 🤔 and as previously mentioned this awareness is gripping the uk and now I find that the app no longer shows military of any form? Were as in the south alone there would be ten or so military helicopters? Now??? Not a single one! Your acting very suspicious PlaneFinder? Are you complicit? I find this highly suspicious! ✓ Refund for pre-subscription customersSo you buy this product (with the 3D options) years ago but now you have to subscribe. Look, that’s fine for new customers but not previous customers? Then they mislead you into emailing them saying they will ‘walk you through the upgrade path for existing customers’ …which basically is a ‘if you want what you paid for before then you now have to subscribe because was are a small organization who can’t maintain goodwill’..Version: 14.2.2
