✓ Upgrade was a mistake as I fearedOver my long use of plane Finder I has built a catalog of filters to help find aircraft types of interest. Upgrading gained little, and not only can I not carry forward my old filters, they’ve buried them one level deeper in the interface. Previously, when I compared old Plane Finder filtering to Flightradar24 they both found mostly the same planes. Now, the new plane Finder is coming up well short..Version: 14.5.1

✓ Fun appI couldn’t figure out how to contact the developer at first. Then found it has to be done through the app, not their website. The developer responded quickly to my question about getting rid of the ads on a second device, so it’s all good. I was happy to see the option of getting rid of 3rd-party ads without having to purchase the full version. It’s a fun app. We always watch the planes in the sky and wondered where they were going. ✓ AmazingEver since I was a little girl, I would spend tons of time at night, looking at the planes and wondering where they were going. One day I was doing the same thing and I thought to myself I wonder if I could see which plane that is online. Surprise! I’m in heaven I do this every day I do it at work, etc.. ✓ Great Application for aircraft loversI’ve enjoyed using this application for several years on my iPad Air. There have been several useful upgrades over the years that has in handed its capabilities. However, I have a question about one of the features. The app shows your current location on the map with a small blue circle with a white ring around it. Inside the white ring is a very small blue circle that seems to be a pointer in a fixed location; irregardless of which way the iPad is pointing. The direction appears to be South on my iPad. Is my guess accurate? If so, why not North?.Version: 14.7.0

✓ OutstandingWell Planefinder has been my flight tracker of choice for a few years. Visually, it’s by far the best to look at and imparts a lot of information very well. I asked recently if a “bookmark” feature could be added and how this has been implemented has blown me away. From the ease of entering flight details, to how well the bookmarked flights sit in the Dynamic Island is just beautifully done. The notifications during a flight are also amazing - even notifying when an aircraft has left the gate and from which terminal etc. This is great engineering combined with outstanding visual design. Get it - and get the pro subscription, it’s a bargain if you are an enthusiast. 10/10..Version: 2024.1.3

✓ Amazing for an avgeekI love how this app shows the data of aircraft, and the baggage belt and gate before travelling. This can be particularly useful for people travelling. It also shows unique data for the airplane you are tracking. However there are a few things that could be improved on, for example there are not many images for the aircraft you are tracking but something that is even more concerning is that a lot of flights have the N/A instead of the route that the airplane is flying. Also the N/A flights have almost no data. But, all in all, an amazing app..Version: 14.9.3
✓ Great app - Problem solvedI absolutely love the Plane Finder App, and have been using it for years now. And it was only a few months ago I decided to upgrade to premium to get the weather charts and 3D mode. Wow what a difference that made !! I can’t believe how well and accurate it is (for a novice at least) and the graphics a fabulous. I unfortunately had an is issue with none of the premium features so I emailed the support centre. It wasn’t long until Jodie contacted via email to sort out my situation. It was simple fix and an oversight by me. ✓ Good, but could still improveBeen a subscriber for a few years and like the app. Have a few other trackers in none paid mode as Plane Finder doesn’t find all air traffic, most notably military flights. I live on the North Norfolk Coast and we get a very large volume of low level military flights, USAF and RAF. Plane Finder doesn’t see most of these. Also it fails to calculate the age of some aircraft! But overall it’s really worthwhile and I’ll continue to subscribe..Version: 14.17.4

✓ Useful and entertainingYour site/app has been super helpful over the last years, as we live in a very active wildfire area (wine country CA). I can observe the progress the fire crews are making in the containment of the blazes around us, and even see hotspots spring up before they show up on the situational awareness map, just by observing the aircraft (flight pattern, who’s flying etc.) in real time. Plus we live in a very active flight corridor (most flights out of San Francisco and Oakland go overhead) and it’s always cool to see where a plane is going to/coming from when you see one going over..Version: 14.2.1

I’ve written to you twice now asking why previously displayed info (weather, etc) had vanished from the app. I also signed up for a free trial of premium to see if the info returned. It didn’t. ✓ A bit of fun for meI enjoy the app and just following random aircraft around the world. I also love to see what’s flying overheard. My only issue is sometimes I hear and see aircraft and they don’t show on the app. Maybe there’s a good reason. But it’s fun and kills time. I just wish I lived near a busy airport. I’d go watch them land. I also told my Dad about this app and planes and he said I was boring. Then later he’d come into my room to point out planes flying overheard so obviously downloaded it. Haha. The free is ok but full of ads. I can cope for now. I enjoyed the free trial more a while back. I had to stop it because at that time couldn’t afford the subscription. I plan to subscribe on payday because I’m not sure when the money will be taken (some apps do it immediately, some at certain dates though that’s rare). ✓ Great flight tracking appThis is a great app. I like how you can track military aircraft which I couldn’t do with FlightRadar24. I also like the weather overlays. The only negative point is that the environmental information like wind speed and air temperature is not available when tracking any flights in the US. It only works for flights operating in European air space. I’m not sure if that is a limitation of this app or whether that information is simply not made available in the US? I'm loving the integration of the 3d version and the fact that now there's a history of the actual flight rather than just the aircraft. ✓ Wrong AirlineWas tracking my wife on AA3087 out of College Station, TX and all that came up was DL3087 and Delta doesn’t fly to College Station. Earlier I was trying to locate the flight prior to departure and the app displayed it as a flight in Wisconsin. I’ll see what happens when I track her AA78 flight from DFW to London Heathrow and her BA1488 flight from London to Glasgow. Luckily I have two other apps to use. ✓ Flexible filters, Best 3D display and good Support teamHave used this app for a while - it has the best and most flexible filter option of any of the Flight tracking apps which means is easy to get just the planes I want on screen. The preset filters are a good addition to quickly see Military, Cargo etc. The 3D display is very good with excellent liveries on the planes. The flight information box gives more detail than other apps as well. The support team is very good - an issue I had (with a file on my old iPad download) was fixed quickly and effectively. ✓ My Very Favorite AppAs a child and later enlisting in the U.S. Air Force, I’ve always had a fascination for airplanes. Though I’m not a pilot myself, I’ve often just driven to the airport to watch the planes take off and land and wondered where the planes are coming from and where they’re headed. In recent years I bought a home with a rooftop deck and a panoramic view. I now see 4 airports from my vantage point and see countless craft in the skies every day. A few months ago I discovered “Plane Finder” and knowing what the planes (and helicopters) are, their livery, origin, destination, speed and altitude, has been fascinating, informative and truly enjoyable. About 3 months ago I decided to eliminate the ads and became a subscriber (along with my partner). I am SO glad I did! I am now able to see where any given craft has been previously, how many passengers it can hold, and much more. I’m learning more about the speed, altitude, and navigation styles each has. I am not a fan of subscription based Apps, but I do understand the commercial reasons for it and the potential benefits to users. Plane Finder is lacking in regards to worldwide coverage (ADS-B feeders, ADS-C & MLAT) as well as smaller regional airport information (arrivals, departures & WX), when compared to other platforms. I hope this can be addressed by the Developers with this subscription model. Overall, Plane Finder adds to my enjoyment of aviation. Sadly, now forced to try the new version which includes other apps that I’d purchased several years ago when they were new, tried, but no longer used as they were not very good and now I no longer have access. ✓ Plane spottingI find this app very informative in that there are a lot of planes going over the coast here and in my older age when I’m out on the Veranda viewing the skies which are very clear here as plane spotting goes I find it very enjoyable to look up and see just watching which aircraft are flying overhead. However, too often recently, some incoming planes appear to land wide of the airport (ie Malaga) or their icons continue after landing (ie Milan Bergamo). ✓ IncredibleI never receive apps or give them a second thought if I’m being honest. But this app is hands down the coolest on my phone. As a boy, I’d often look up at con trails high in the sky and think to myself “I wonder where that plane is going?” Knowing at that moment, complete strangers were 30,000 feet over my head. Now, with this app all these years later, I can pull those anonymous planes and determine every little detail about it. My kids and I love hearing a jet in the distance and pull it up on this app. Simply amazing!!! In fact, my 6 year old and I went to a local air museum and were able to determine a large private jet was only 10 minutes away from landing. ✓ Best flight tracking app in some ways, though missing a few featuresI have the free version, and overall I really like it. The augmented reality view is definitely a big plus. The layout of the map view is really good too. I like the alerts for planes squawking 7700; it’d be nice if you could include 7500 & 7600 too (or maybe even let users specify what codes they want alerts for). The only other thing I would note is the info screen that comes up after you click on a plane has a lot more details locked for the premium version than what FlightAware gives for free. I understand there’s a limit to what can be given for free, but with a little more this app could definitely blow the others out of the water..Version: 14.17.4
✓ Super awesomeI love this app. It is very functional, doesn’t drain battery too much, and displays a lot of information. Flight has always been a passion of mine and between simulators, flying on commercial passenger flights, and this it is the closest I have gotten to flying, so keep that app going! I also just subscribed to the premium version recently, and it added so much to the app. The Apple Watch app could use some improvements though. Even if the extra features would require the premium subscription, I would still be happy with the improvement. Overall great app though. Maybe make it so you can see further than 100 miles on Apple Watch? Just food for thought. ✓ Wow!Was a little skeptical of the accuracy of this app but I couldn’t be more impressed I live on Long Island NY so I have LGA and JFK near by so the amount of air traffic over my house is constant and to be able to count down the seconds until the aircraft will become visible to me is like clockwork. I mainly get JFK Landing and take offs hence that’s were my backyard is facing but also many line up and fly overs from LGA. Overall a very cool and useful app was also impressed to see drones and “some” military aircraft. ✓ Misleading/Pro account unmanageableIt worked. But only once. When I returned to the app, clicked the icon, I was taken back to the beginning of the purchasing process. The app then freezes. I waited 30 minutes with a frozen screen before I completely exited the app and tried again. The third, fourth and even a fifth attempt to use the app again went just as the second attempt - frozen screen, no way to access the app or my account. A few moments ago I cancelled my subscription through a series of random, frustratingly pushed option buttons and icons. Now I don’t trust I won’t be charged for attempting to buy the Pro version and then cancelling my subscription after being subscribed for only an hour of the two week free trial period because the entire purchasing process seems fatally flawed. ✓ Not for meI had a two weeks free trial, and unfortunately that’s end there. I do not blame the app but what I wanted this for, is just not there. I don’t care about airlines but GA. There is all info you want about airlines but very little about planes that flying outside my window, if they show up at all. I read and fully understand is that all about type of transponder. As I’m writing this there is two planes SR22 and Cessna flying nearby. I can see them in real but I can only see sr22 on the app and like 99% GA planes I have only alt course vertical rate type and registered date. Is missing rest of them. Again is not app fault but just my expectations are a bit unrealistic. Then is playback, sounds awesome but I only managed to find my flight to Spain but none of them to Poland, even very recent with Rynair or Wizzair. Featured flights alert, well I don’t know how it works because it didn’t notify me about Red Arrow flying by!! Charts is just joke, there is 6 of them, I knew will be bad but there is more then 7000 airports on Navigraph, as example. The good Is quick and Very easy to use. 3d stuff is gadget but nice addition, weather is fairly accurate compared to Windy. Filters are awesome. I like the layout and presentation. If that was one of purchase yes worth to have for around £10 but subscription, no to me. ✓ PlanefinderI enjoy using this and find it quite easy but they really need to get the map co-ordinates right: I find that aircraft are shown on the map 4 or 5 miles north of actual position( ie overhead). For this reason I have to give it a 3 star score. This mispositioning can be quite confusing in our plane populated area when trying to identify them. Still, it works on my phone and does give quite a good idea of how many aircraft are in the skies at any one time..Version: 14.6.2

Just the other day I was trying to spot a plane and was not sure of when it would be arriving exactly but the app did not show it. ✓ Excellent supportAbsolutely love this app. Great for tracking the local Spitfire, Air Ambulance and the huge variety of planes flying over our house on the South Coast. Also great to see if your ‘own flight’ is on time before leaving home. Accurate weather graphics too. The 3-D graphics are superb. ✓ What happened?This used to be a great app as good as if not better than the main rival - but this? A poor echo of itself. Sitting watching planes take off and land on holiday - and nothing. I can see them And plane finder used to do a brilliant job of tracking etc - now nothing. ASR helicopters Or just helicopters - no where to be seen where as before no issues. ✓ Cities are not shown on mapThe program is great for showing type and company logo on aircraft, but you have to manually locate where you want to watch. There is no location dot showing where you are or airport location. You must zoom in and try to locate where you are and then check aircraft in your area..Version: 14.17.5

✓ Shouldn’t have deleted!!!!Plane finder I learned my lesson the hard way to never betray you. I deleted to give flight radar 24 a try, and they make me pay to set custom alerts. So I said oh well all my alerts on PF were free when I first got it last spring.... I had to redownload the newer version and now you’re getting $10/year out of me!!! ✓ Plane Finder, flight tracker.Originally had the old legacy app. for many years so decided to upgrade to the new version. I decided to opt for the free trial period then ‘go pro’. Allowing me to use all the features. I had a problem activating the free trial & then paying for the full version so contacted the Pinkfoot support team. They answered within about 10 mins and offered me a solution which didn’t work , so contacted them again , they replied within an hour with a further solution which again didn’t work, so again contacted them for a third time . 3 days later they got back , they had contacted Apple and been told the issue has been addressed and to update my Apple software. This I did and everything is now working! Really great support from Pinkfoot. The game runs very smoothly and has a lot of new features, really enjoying using it. Tony..Version: 14.9.2

✓ Unclear about chargesAs a user for some years I accepted the free trial of the new version and when that ended I was charged to continue using it. Although it’s quite expensive I was OK with that as I enjoy the app and use it a fair bit. However when I opened up the app I was given the option to select the pro version and now I think I’ve been charged again. That’s not on - if you charge a high subscription and still don’t offer the full version I will be cancelling and moving to FR24 or some other app.Version: 14.10.5

However, one thing i’ve noticed is that when planes get close to the ground for landing; they are no longer animated and just remain stuck in place until the next location update, whereas FR24 does this really well. ✓ Plane finderI had an older ediition, up dated it so i could find QF1 when it had turned back to Baku for cockpit issues. The updated version has many new featurs and being a very aviation person ill be on here often. You can see all the planes in the world and see heaps of information about them, pretty cool right! ✓ So usefulHere in Santa Fe it is common to see 10 or more vapor trails filling the sky at the same time. So being able to identify them is like trainspotting from my childhood. We also see some bizarre flight paths which would be forever mysterious but the app identifies them. We also get a lot of military flyovers, since New Mexico is still a giant test bed, but most of them remain invisible to the app. I always recommend the app to the many chemtrail fanatics in this town. ✓ Support for the Dynamic Island would be awesome!!I've been using Plane Finder for almost 3 years and I love all the fun and intuitive features that it has to offer in the paid version. The price is amazing for what you get. The only thing holding me back from using it as my main flight tracker is not incorporating Live Activities for flights that you choose to track. I think it would be so much faster and better to be able to find and track a flight straight from the Dynamic Island or lock screen. I wish there were a few more plane symbols depending on their type (T-38 should have a jet symbol, etc). ADSB does a good job with this.
