✓ Blasted lined ‘paper’ is ridiculous and uncivilisedWhy on earth would you put lines on the ‘paper’ of an app? The app itself makes sure everything you write is aligned properly so why the silly and intrusive lines? We’re not a class of six-year-olds who need help to write tidily. We’re all grown ups (we must be if we need a complex organiser) so why the ridiculous and intrusive lines? I’m the scruffiest of writers but even I haven’t needed guidelines on my paper since I was about seven. Okay, student note pads insist on having them, and there may be some value in that context. But here? Why? They are as pointless as they are irritating to civilised people. I keep coming back and coming back to this app to see whether they’ve got rid of the blasted things because I simply can’t bear to use it until they do. It looks like a great app spoiled by this infantile and uncivilised addition and I simply can’t bring myself to write within pre-marked lines even if the possibility were there. Civilisation goes too deep. And beyond that there is the spuriousness of adding lines when the user has no earthly option of placing their words anywhere other than where the app puts them. Surely no-one could complain if you were to remove them. It’s not as if their words would run all over the screen and drop off the bottom is it? Nor would anyone be unable to write neatly without them. The app would still place every word exactly where it places them now, lines or now lines. The whole naff nonsense irritates me almost to a fury. Please, developer, can you get rid of those ridiculous and insanely irritating pointless dammed lines! I hate them I loathe them. I abhor them. ✓ NO PENCIL SUPPORTWASTE OF MONEY. Somehow I ended up paying for this little number when I purchased Noteshelf 2. The Noteshelf 2 app itself is great and was purchased solely for use with the iPad Pro PENCIL. This Daily Notes app appears to have some promise, but with no pencil support I may as well keep the reminders and calendar apps on my iPad and not use this thing. Why on earth would I want to sit and type notes when I have bought the iPad Pro to use the Pencil? We're no longer in the 20th Century so there's not need fr this diary app that needs a keyboard. ✓ Not as nice looking as the screenshotsNo iPhone X support is unexplainable for an app that cost me $10 Canadian. I figured that if I turned on dark mode it would blend with the black at the top of the screen but it doesn’t because the dark mode is a grey not as black as in the pictures. It makes no sense to open up another calendar app or task app. Don’t forget that most of the calendaring on the iPhone is handled through the email accounts. Five stars if both are done. ✓ Abandoned AppThis app appears to have been abandoned by the developer. I use this app almost daily so that I can keep track of my work. It works pretty good for keeping daily notes organized into categories. My biggest gripe is when you flip between day by day view and all note entries view (bottom right corner button). You can't actually scroll through the notes on the all notes view without the application auto scrolling you back to your most recent note (every 3 seconds or so). So I flip to the all notes view and scroll to previous week looking for something, then all of a sudden it resets the view back to the current day. This happens on the iPad and iPhone. Why even have the all notes view if you can't actually use it to view old notes?.<-Vincent->Version: 8.9.2

✓ Not sureIn the search for the right app to keep track of my work and personal life. It gives me somewhere to take notes on projects from meetings and phone calls and use categories and tags to organise things. I really like the way the task tab orders things and being quickly able to start a note on diary page. Yet it feels like there is no obvious way of seeing what's there and things disappear under layers of tabs and dates. Also would love computer and iPhone apps with cloud sync( now have this but has caused a melt down) Would also like to have combined Diary/task view and be able to swipe between dates! This week the app has locked me out because if iCloud problems and despite requests for help I have had none and cannot find a solution. Herewith the problem of an electronic diary. ✓ Sync is an issueHave been using this app since early 2014 but sync has been a problem throughout that time. Have followed all the guidelines re sync incase it was an apple issue but don't think so. More recently have been trying to get it to sync across my ios devices but it has been erratic and unpredictable. On all devices the indicators show that a sync is taking place but nothing happens. However I have found that the app has gotten a little buggy, and it hasn’t been updated for ios13 to suit my iPhone 11 screen. I also get some sort of authentication error I can’t fix. ✓ Potential is there!Just as most reviewers say, this is an attractive app. It is well priced to start with, tempting me to give it a go in the first place, has a good instructions set and works as a great organiser. My only complaint, and reason why I will probably keep looking for a better app is that it doesn't sync with other calendar apps. ✓ Syncs multiples of single entriesI used to love this app, but it now syncs multiples of all the entries to every single device. I have 3,478 max of one entry and 900 in another it keeps adding and adding backups on top of each other. My notes are a mess of repeats over and over. This is not good if you appreciate neatness and the ability to look up your notes later. Not to mention the sizes of the backup. Be planned to use a lot of storage space for thousands of one entry! This app hasn’t been updated recently at all I’d say about a year or so. It was the best journaling app out there now the worst time consuming mess of all time. Been using it since it’s creation. ✓ Great app... no support?I download this app looking for an electronic format for tracking daily notes like a daily planner is typically used for. I have been extremely happy with the layout and functionality. Concerned that the sync option seems to be sluggish and you cannot force a sync. ✓ A very poor means of storing and managing your calendarInitially, I thought this product was quite good. The biggest bugbear I found was when you enter information into a page, on a specific date, you then can't just click on the date to move it; no, you have to copy the header text, go to the new date, and paste it in; go back to the original, copy the body text in the same way, and then go to the new date and paste it in - slow and laborious. Now though, the two biggest pains though are after rebuilding my computer, I go to restore ALL my calendar information from my daliy notes backups on Dropbox AND IT WON'T recognise any of them!! Which means, I will have to type every single one in manually because this calendar doesn't work with any other calendar application on my PC; that, you may have guessed, is the second pain. My rating started off as 2-stars when I began writing this; I'm wrong, it's 1-star. I estimate it will take me most of the day to re-enter my information if I could be bothered - I can't. ✓ GlitchingI loved this app but now it’s glitching. When I type a note, as I get to the bottom of the screen my words start to get covered by the bottom tool bar/ the page does not scroll with my writing. So I cannot see what I am writing. ✓ Rather disappointedI’ve always been a big advocate of their other app, Noteshelf, so figured the apple can’t fall far from the tree. So far I’m disappointed with the functionality and specifically how clunky the sync between devices is. ✓ Slow to respond, stuck when you type. Duplicates notesI have had this app for several years. Once IOS 12 hit I have had numerous problems. I have emailed tech support and get the run around. I have one notes that has duplicated itself over 500 times and you go to delete it one by one might I add b/c apparently you don’t have a way to delete multiple notes according to the tech department for the app. You type and the screen just freezes. Screens stick in between your tabs. Updates on App Store do not help these issues. Please fix this I really don’t want to go back to the “notes app” that comes with the iPhone. ✓ Syncing problemsI use this app on two different iPads and rely on the app’s sync feature to keep the two identical. Unfortunately syncing is not reliable if I wait for the app to do so on its own, even if I wait for a very long time. Even attempting to sync manually by opening the sync dialog is not reliable. The potential for data loss is very high if you sync between different devices. Even using one device, I would doubt your data is being reliably backed up to the Cloud. You may see lines run across the sync icon, suggesting that a sync has taken place, but in my experience syncing often has not occurred. ✓ Needs a major improvementThis seemed like a really nifty app to begin with, aside from the looping log-in page and slow icloud. Today it has just dawned on me that although the Subject tabs stay in place all the time, the only way to see any of your notes is to go to the actual date you wrote them on! How is anyone supposed to remember that? The only way to scroll is to go to search, therefore the other tabs are totally redundant. Remember the actual date or remember a title to search for. You may as well screw up pieces of paper with your notes and throw them into one of 365 box files on your shelves. If there was a setting so the subject tabs could hold all the notes from any date under that subject, now that would be really useful and actually what I thought I was paying for. ANote is a really good example and it was only really because I wanted to keep some writing in different places that I took a chance on this app. With this improvement it would be worth buying, otherwise it's just a long scroll of notes or little compartments for each day of the year, perhaps this could be made clearer on the advertising page for the app?.Heather TweedVersion: 7.12

✓ Syncing IssuesBack to 2 stars. The app won't store photo's from the photo library. The store as boxes in the media tab, and just show a black box if you click on the "box". ================== I don't know if the syncing issues have been resolved or not. But I've made sure to wait a little to ensure that one device syncs before I go to the other. It may be been an issue with the WiFi I must use because it goes out all the time. Aside from this, this app is exactly what I needed. It has the flexibility to handle even my insane schedule and workload. My only problem is sometimes I'm too busy to update it. The note was empty on the phone app where I had written a great deal on my iPad. When I went back to the iPad, my entry was empty and I can't retrieve it.
