✓ ScamRefuse to respond to email/insta DM’s asking for info on the AI model and whether it is collecting and training third party AI software using your notes - extremely shady and insane that the app cannot be used without the built in AI. Avoid at all costs until they clarify their stance on their AI model and it’s data collection! ✓ Are they trying to not be successful?1 cannot test the search function, so can't see how it compares to goodnotes or notability. Need to test exact word search, multi-word phrase search etc, as a med student need to test app basic functions before purchasing. Search only available from the main menu for now, in all the texts, and it does NOT work. The app spins a circle as if search function is processing. Then the app just crashes. If someone wants to come along and make a functional note-taking app WITHOUT the AI, they are going to make a killing because right now there is noone offering a functional app with properly functioning search and handwriting search. 2 imported pdf has no outline / table of contents imported, works fine with any other pdf viewr or notes app... so can't test if it has sublevels or any other critical features to compare vs goodnotes.DanimalpandaVersion: 1.4.8

✓ Version 3 not as visually appealing as Version 2While I am sure there are many great functions in Version 3, I do prefer Version 2 and will keep using that version for most things. Visually, I love the bookcase look in Version 2 and how they look when grouped. I prefer the old style covers and templates rather than the newer ones. All this is about how I like it to look personally. Version 2 looks more stylish but Version 3 looks cheaper and busier. There are some great dairy and manner templates in Version 3. ✓ Worthless upgrade, except Noteshelf 2 no longer worksBeen a long time Noteshelf 2 user. Took the plunge and updated to Noteshelf 3, because they seemingly left Noteshelf 2 in an unusable state (conceivably to force a paid upgrade). Jumped through all of the hoops to migrate my data from Noteshelf 2 to 3, including the REQUIRED paid upgrade. Now, what do I have to show for it? The exact same functionality I had before (bugs and all) with a significantly WORSE UI. Again, they didn’t bother to fix any of the actual bugs: like, when working with hi-res images pasted in from the clipboard, they will often overwhelm the app, causing them to both disappear from the display area (even though they’re actually still there) and the app itself will hang - and if you close the running process and start it again, you’ve lost work. The resize options are finicky for no reason, and pasting in selected and copied objects from elsewhere in the app will often cause them to get deselected before you can move them to the appropriate place. Again, scummy practices by basically borking Noteshelf 2 and forcing users to DOWNGRADE to Noteshelf 3..Bigcc32Version: 1.3.2

✓ Doesn’t open quickly anymoreMy partner and I love Noteshelf 2. I’ve actually gifted it to two friends. We excitedly bought Noteshelf 3 and enjoyed the improvements. However, with the latest update, 3 doesn’t open for many, many minutes, sometimes hours. I have another iPad that isn’t updated and it opens it fine, so I’m okay. My partner just said she is going back to 2 because she can’t use it. We both use Noteshelf for teaching and studying. Unfortunately whenever this new version’s baked-in Noteshelf AI functionality is invoked it uploads the entire page content to ChatGPT - see the developer’s response to a review titled “scam” for more information. ✓ Was good…now not so muchWhile the new version isn’t terrible but lacks in stability and features. I will be taking a note and it will just erase part of what I just wrote down. It also is glitchy when trying to change between pen and highlighter or eraser. It can take multiple taps on the screen to get it to change, when takin meeting notes it can make it hard to stay caught up with the speaker. Also, could have smoother and faster download from the cloud. Using a high speed connection it is slow but functional, using a hotspot…grab your pen and paper. ✓ Small issuesOverall I love the new interface. I wish there were a few changes though. Noteshelf 2 (N2) had flawless transfers of documents into the app whereas Noteshelf 3 (N3) is a little choppy. I’d love for N3 to be able to transfer all the documents from N2 to N3 as a whole as well. The color picker and pens are kind of annoying in N3 because I can’t choose my go to colors and need to be satisfied with the 3 they gave me or continuously go and change the colors every time I want to pick a new color. It’s almost a 3 step process. There’s no favorites bar either which made N2 more special, but I’m still trying to use the new interface for the sake of the new interface and the satisfying colors and shapes. ✓ Apple Business ManagerUntil recently this app was a vital part of our daily operation. Our business uses apple business manager to keep control of comapany devices. Noteshelf 2 (which I paid for) disappeared from the devices and there seems to be no way to recover it. I am now forced to buy Noteshelf 3 instead. I understand product development however an app I purchased should not be taken away. The data was not being stored in the cloud. A mistake made by me, however, I don't believe this is a good or fair. The new problem once I got over my original frustration is that I can't seem to get the premium version through the in app purchase when using apple business manager to load apps on the devices. This is Frustrating to no end. I'll gladly change my rating if a representative from noteshelf can help me through this dilemma. Long story short when I tried to back up ipad noteshelf files to Microsoft (which is says on website it does), the files became corrupted and 50% are now inaccessible. Back and forth emails to the company want me to send logs to them to figure out why this has happened but not one word on how my data is handled, who is doing it or any kind of written company gaurantee that they give a damn about the data they are working with. Absolutely the worst experience ever and it is now going to cost me about $1000 Cdn to hopefully get my files back. ✓ Many Features Missing In AppI really want to love this app, I paid for premium but feel duped as the most favored tools and features are simply missing from my app. I contacted support and have not received assistance. It’s as if the app I am using is a free trial with features you can’t get access too unless you pay. Among the many missing features: favorites tool bar, audio recording, “100s” of templates, any other color outside of preset options, and more. The notebooks don’t open and if they open the pages are blank when you enlarge them. They still have a long way to go before they can be up to the level of the 2nd version. ✓ Please updateI’m a longtime user of Notes shelf, and when I saw there was an upgrade to Noteshelf 3, I said let me jump on it. I do see the updates and I appreciate them however there are some glitches that I’m not too happy with. Unlike Noteshelf 2, where the documents just automatically opened in this version they have to load up through Internet connection even though they are already saved in the app. Also, I don’t like that when I open the app it opens with previous documents that I use and when I’m sharing my screen for presentation purposes, it shows past discussions or files. ✓ App won’t launchTried switching from Noteshelf 2 to Noteshelf 3. It worked for a few launches and now when I try to launch it I get stuck on the launching screen. There is not much I can do about it because I do not have access to any of the settings. It looks like it is trying to access the files but can’t figure out what to load. I sat for 30 minutes waiting for it to do its thing and nothing happened. ✓ Lack of migration from version 2 to 3I was an avid user of version 2 of Noteshelf. I purchased a new iPad and learned about version 3 as I set it up. I checked the help notes in version 3 to see how I could get all my notebooks from version 2 to version 3. They describe a process that involves first installing version 2. Unfortunately version 2 is no longer available on the App Store. So it seems that all content produced in version 2 is permanently lost. ✓ Somewhat disappointedOne of the virtues of the iPad is it’s instant on capability. Windows has never come close. This makes the iPad an excellent “planner”. You turn it on and the calendar, email, to-do, and notes apps open instantly, ready for use. Well… not with Noteshelf 3. I tap on the icon and I get those Window like circles were the app spins for 5 to 8 seconds before it opens. Sounds negligible but it isn’t. Not when the whole user experience - including Noteshelf 2 - was like opening a paper notebook. I haven’t jumped ship waiting to see if an update remedies the problem. The disappointment has me checking other options. I had migrated to Noteshelf coming from Notability and Notes Plus. Now I have an incentive to check out how they have evolved..UPABONVersion: 1.3.1

✓ Great release, missing some thingsI have been using Noteshelf for years and am using the Dash planner with it. There are some flaws that need to be fixed and are forcing me to use Notability. The pens in Notability are no match to Noteshelf. I would have rated this higher as I believe you are on the right track, but the issues below have forced me to use Noteability until these are fixed. 1. If you copy a page using the thumbnails and want to paste the page after selecting a page using the pdf links, the thumbnails don’t update their position so you can paste the copied page. 2. What happened to all the great templates from version 2 like pastel papers? 3. When are you going to add a history button so you can go back to a previous linked page? This is a huge problem when using linked pages where there are several hundred. 4. If you copy a template page on Dash planner, or amply planner I have tried, and paste the page at a different location, the pasted page becomes the new template link. This is not the case with any other products I have tested. There is a workaround, but it isn’t easy or good. 5. How do you snap objects and lines for alignment? 6. ✓ DisappointedI use Noteshelf for personal use and as a caregiver. I was very pleased with Noteshelf 2 which I’ve used for over 3 years. ✓ DisappointingDefault page used for Notebooks created can’t be a custom page, it has to be one of the default pages provided as page template in the app, if you want to use a custom page, you have to add it as custom template then change every page in the note book to that template page individually. Version 2 allows you to setup custom page as a template page to the notebook itself, so it appears automatically when adding new page to notebook.ITfutureVersion: 1.3

✓ Basic updates not updates at allI have owned Noteshelf since it was first available. I have been thru several updates. But this last one, although adding some great features, it changed basic features that serve no purpose. The new version saves the COVER as the 1st page of the notebook. Why? It’s supposed to be a cover. In a book, the cover is not the 1st page of the book. The developer response was that hundreds of users asked for this. Whether it’s actually useful or not, is not relevant. When you adding a notebook, the paper choices are 3 levels in and no longer saved where you can get to them. But you have to go to the ‘store’ and choose more papers from there. And when you’re done, your notebook is saved with a random name and in a random place. So if these basic items make the app harder to use, it’s not worth the other ‘fantastic’ upgrades they did, if the app can’t do simple notebooks well anymore. ✓ Good App - Just add more Color optionsI really like how the Noteshelf 3 functions with old/new documents. It has new structures that make it easier to write notes. However, i do like having a lot of Color’s to Color Code sections for school, etc. When updating and transferring from Noteshelf 2 to Noteshelf 3, i was disappointed with the fact that my pre-saved Color’s where not there (had to go back to manually add them) and how there is limited space for colors; unlike how Noteshelf 2 allowed you to have as many colors as you please. Also, the option to download Color pallets that were made in Noteshelf 2 was pretty handy. I wish that was in the new app too, as I loved downloading pallets from the old app..EhyyzVersion: 1.4.6
