The settings are fabulous in that you can adjust day/night brightness and also the sound or even turn it off completely and just have an alarm if you like a totally dark room. I have two Apple TVs one in the living room and one in the bedroom, Right now when it's cold out I have the magic fireplace on both. And I love the flickering sounds of the flames, everyone that comes to my house enjoys the magic fireplace. ✓ Beautiful scenesThis is a really good app and well worth upgrading to get all of the scenes which are very vivid and crystal clear. The reason for 4 stars is because there is an option to shuffle the scenes, but there doesn't seem to be any way to move from one scene to another random scene. I set the shuffle option to 'on', but when the scene ends it goes back to the beginning and the only way I can select another scene is by doing it manually which defeats the whole point of the shuffle option. It would be better if there was a one-click button to press to move on to another scene at random. Apart from that, I love it..Version: 5.0.2

✓ Ahhhhh.......Perfection!The most peaceful and relaxing app I have ever had! Sounds are realistic and the video is so crisp and real that I actually feel like I am there. There is a nice variety so you don't get board. I have not had any issues with the app at all! The settings were easy and not over done. Keeping with the peaceful theme. I love the sleep and alarm option. Five stars isn't enough but 100 stars wasn't an option. Only one wish and that is that we have the option to remove from our list the scenes we are not interested in. They take up valuable "beach" space. :).Version: 4.0

✓ One of the reasons for having an iPadJust took a chance on this, after looking on their website. I absolutely love it. One of the apps I show everybody when showing off my new PADD. I often leave this on for hours, with my own music library playing. Not just one beautiful scene or a morphing slideshow like using my own pictures. This is a speed-adjustable time-lapse view, like sitting and watching a beautiful sunset, or clouds rolling by or a fire or etc. I didn't realize they've already added new scenes and this bodes well for future updates. ✓ The most beautiful app on my iPadThis is an incredibly beautiful app. If you are familiar with with the poor quality of video based virtual scenes, put them out of your mind. This app is nothing like that. It does a great job of capturing the feel of a moving scene - amazing sunsets, waves rolling up on a beautiful beach, clounds surrounding you in the mountains - but because it is HD photography the quality of the image has to be seen to be believed. The app was great when it was first released and since then it has continued to improve. The developers have released a huge number of additional scences at no extra cost. Many of the new scenes are even more beautiful than the original set. If you are looking for an app that can transform your iPad into a virtual window to a number of beautiful relaxing scences, I can't recommend Magic Window more highly! For the cost you can go wrong - I would have been happy paying double for it..Version: 0

✓ Very nice app, but it has a glitch and you need wireless to access most of contentThis is a very nice app, and I like the selection of scenes to view. However, only three scenes come pre-downloaded. I think this was done to save memory space, but if you don't have wireless internet you will not be able to access most of the content. If you do have wireless, you can download the remaining ~15 scenes for free (and there are additional scenes for puchase too). The only glitch I have encountered is that everytime I press the "favorite" button to get to my saved favorites the app crashes to the main iPod screen. It has done this everytime I click the button. ✓ My favorite app of all time!!I LOVE this app. It helps me fall asleep at night and wakes me with a beautiful picture scene and gentle sound that doesn't make me slam for the off button on my alarm. It has different settings for night and day so you dont have to worry about falling asleep at low volume and missing the alarm clock bc it was too quiet. Highly recommend this app if you are looking for a nice visual and sound in the background to fall asleep to (tried lots of others but this is way better) and something to wake you up peacefully. You can watch a sun rising or setting, or be lulled by soft clouds lazily drifting across the sky. You can get caught up in the drama of a passing storm, or enjoy a light breeze as it ruffles cornstalks on a farmland. All of this is accompanied by a natural soundtrack. You also have the ability to slow down or speed up the movement and therefore the cycle. Magic Windows is my nightly alarm clock. It provides a mesmerizing background to time, temperature and (optionally) date. The sleep sounds can be set up to run for hours. I've now ditched my white noise machine as well as my alarm clock. However, Magic Window is also a very pleasant way to give your hard-working brain a rest during the day. My quibbles are small. I wish I could have the larger time display and still see the date. I wish I could keep more than one alarm available for quick access. Finally, I wish some of the cycles were a bit longer so I could enjoy the twilights and the dawns as they fade. ✓ Good appWell it looks like I'm the first to review this app. To download the other scenes took a while and some times it didn't work but on the whole it's a pretty good app. The pictures are clear and it is easy to move from one to another and control the scenes. On one a guy walks in when he gets a shooting star quite funny and quite cool. I got it for my new iPad and the quality is great. Not sure if I'll really use it but it seemed a great test for the iPad. Not sure if it's worth a fiver but 1.79 ain't too bad..Version: 0
✓ Really differentHow much you like this app will really depend on what you use it for. I do agree with other reviewers that it needs more scenes, especially for a 10 price tag! However, what scenes it does have are really beautiful, and for the most part transition well if you download the full scene. I've been lucky as most of my scenes have downloaded with no problems. I did have to redownload one scene because it wasn't showing up, but that's the only hiccup I've encountered. I use it as a screensaver and background noise generator as I sleep. ✓ It's 1/4 of a GBI wouldn't have downloaded this if I had realized how huge the file size was. The reason for the huge size, of course, is because the pictures aren't still. They move (like a slow movie loop), which adds more to the size of the app the longer the loop. The sound along with this adds even more to the size. But I'm glad I did buy it. I can always delete it if/when I get bored with it. SUGGESTION: I would love to have a city view (like what you see on VDOT traffic cams), but with city sounds like cars, horns, sirens, gunfire, shrill screaming...ahh, the good ol' days! Ok, lose the violence (keep the sirens, though) and add it to the city. I have a sleeping app (White Noise $1.99) that includes city sounds. In fact, it has several sounds that you can mix. I have city/crowd/rain combo and it puts me right to sleep. I would love to see this with city sounds. Right now I like the one that looks like rolling clouds or the campfire. My birds like the sheep pasture best. So I usually play the sheep pasture. I guess it's ok. Worth the $2 that you have to spend if you don't nab it now. It's not just a load of still pics. ✓ Very good, but a few image flaws disappointFirst of all, this app is great. The concept is wonderful and so are 90% of the images. I must say, though, that the newest packs have some flaws which definitely detract from some beautiful imagery. Simply put, they have spots from dust on the lens. 'New York City Noir' has many spots visible in the sky, which is highly disappointing because it's otherwise a stunning image. In addition, 'Summer Storm' and 'Montana Sunset' were obviously taken with the same camera because they both have the same dust spots (at top, just left of center). Needless to say, it's a bummer. Hopefully, future paid packs will be free of such preventable blemishes. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this app...the AirPlay mirroring is a great bonus, too..Version: 3.2
✓ Amazing AppAmazing app, looking out my iPad2 window on incredible scenic views in the world, watching sunrises, sunsets, clouds, sea, fog etc Small problem with auto-lock display blank screen after settings, general, auto-lock, 5 minutes kicked in. App support responded very quickly, with ios4 need iPad2 to be powered off before the setting works correctly (normal sleep option is not enough, must be power off). Now the app keeps working in dock regardless of auto-lock setting. Downloading all the scenes takes a while but is well worth it. Individual scenes can be deleted if no longer wanted to free up space. Highly recommended..Version: 3.0.1

My favorites are the space station views of the aurora from above and scenes from the Southwest, one of my favorite areas of the country. I use this app with my Apple TV not only to help me relax but also for inspiration as I'm writing my current novel. Part of the story's setting is in space and watching the stately motion of the planet "below" has already helped me write a new scene. Love the way the scene changes from night into day into night again, gazing at the stars as they float across the sky, watching and listening to waves come ashore in various scenes. Highly recommend this amazing app! Earthlapse (I think that's the name) by the same developers is good too; but those scenes are part of the Master Collection, so I don't need both. Originally I wanted to give this only three stars because everything moves unnaturally too fast. And a normal person can't really relax watching those hectic movements. The atmospheres are very nice though. That is why I eventually gave it four stars. And because of the good picture quality. Also one has many environments to choose from. If you can't sleep you can run your favorite scene, listen to the wonderful sounds, get lost in the visual and soon you will be surprised that it is morning. No kidding! The ambient sounds help mask the office sounds of phones and keyboard clicking without disturbing my coworkers. I highly recommend it. A few suggestions to the programmers. One, I would like to adjust the speed of each scene separately. The views have a different enough time lapse that some of my scenes move beautifully and others don't seem to move at all. But if I speed it up, the other scenes fly by and I don't even see them. The other is I would like the ambient sounds to be equalized. I randomize the scenes through the day and some are really loud (namely the Big Sur scenes) so I turn my iPad down. But then I can't hear others. It's one of those apps that is simply everything it claims to be. I do hope that future updates bring more scenery variety--the available scenes are mostly of the Pacific rim, and California in particular. And while CA is beautiful, this limits the appeal of the app somewhat--there are so many other beautiful places in the US and around the world, and so many possible weather conditions that it's hard not to wish for more variety. ✓ Beautiful and InspringThis is a really nice app. I have always thought how awesome it would be to have an app that shows a nighttime scene in the city, or a nighttime water scene going into sunrise. I am amazed by this app and very thankful it was created. With that said, I do have some issues with this app: First, many scenes need more frames. I am a photographer and I understand that some of the scenes need longer shutter speeds so it may be difficult to capture more frames per second, but this can easily be achieved by using fast lenses and higher sensitivity. The cameras being produced these days can go pretty high with minimal noise. When you see cars in the night scenes, they are just centimeter streaks. Second, the darker scenes could be rendered with higher quality compression and still keep the size down - especially since they are mostly downloaded after the app is purchased. Sound effects would also be awesome. Sure, these aren't video recorded files, but samples could be added. I understand that the files are made by different people, but Jetson Creative could step up the requirements (or maybe have low and hi quality options). I still recommend this gorgeous app. I am still giving it 5 stars, as my issues are trivial and more personal issues rather than actualy problems with the app. Great job overall..Version: 0

It gives the perfect amount of information and eye candy without being too obtrusive or distracting. My favourite scene at the moment is Third and Market in San Francisco. ✓ Glad I Found This AppI first saw something like this on an NCL cruise last year which projected various scenes on a giant screen in the main foyer. My wife and I really intrigued with the various scenes so when we came across this app last week, we were excited about it. I purchased digital iPad connector just so we can watch the scenes on our big screen TV. The only negative is you only get a few scenes with the original purchase and then you are offered the option to purchase additional scenes. It works really well and the photography is amazing. I've downloaded entire movies faster than that, but so long as you're not as impatient as me it shouldn't be a problem. The app itself is quite nice, i found that you can only really settle at one speed option because it just looks terribly fake if you go any faster or slower. I wanted to try out more scenes, you are given only 4 and can then download more (for free) but the painfully slow download speeds are so frustrating. Tap the temperature to see forecasted highs and lows and present conditions. It also has the option for sleep and alarm mode. When my iPad is docked on the night stand I have this app running. Beautiful scenic photos turn an electronic piece just charging in a dock into something which blends with your room. One caveat is that the photos and animation take up memory. The app does not download all the photos to your iPad. It displays them in a catalog and you choose your favorites to download which is a good idea.
