✓ Q.Rip off and too few recipes. I don't understand the hype around this app. There are so many other recipe books out there that are completely free and has way more options. They may not look as nice as this one, but aesthetics, to me, is not worth $20 for 5 recipes. Might as well go to a restaurant with that money and avoid all the labour..Version: 7.0.2
✓ MisleadingWas very disappointed when I clicked on a recipe that I needed to pay $2.99 to view. Basically the viewer/browser is free and the recipes are not. You need to pay for each category. Download Pintrest instead. It's a better source and free for recipes..Version: 6.2
✓ Love the updatesI bought this app a while back, we have made a few of the recipes and loved them. I was a little taken back because you received a few of the new additional categories and recipes. But then had to pay an additional $5.00 to get all the recipes for Italian, Asian and Baking. ✓ WHY....?Loved this app until recent iOS update. I liked the fact u turned pages like a book. Now when u open the app it lists what u have installed & which ones u DONT have installed & All the recipes r micro pictures all lined out on ONE page ! The size of the app I’m always nearly deleting for space. It now I wont have that dilemma as I’m not loving it anymore 😞 Finding it so difficult to navigate It wasn’t broke, why fix it...? ✓ Missing basic featuresI really like the help that the photos provide as you prepare a recipe, but the recipes really need nutritional information -especially CALORIE CONTENT!!!!! Another great addition, other than more recipes(!), would be a section on basic cooking techniques. One thing that has made things difficult for me as I learn to cook, it how to replicate some foundational techniques (like braising, caramelizing, etc) and how to know if what I've created looks in any way like what it is meant to look like!! Overall, what you are paying the big bucks for is the aesthetic. With only 60-something recipes I'm not sure it's worth the price.....Version: 0

✓ Nice concept but recipes lacking ...Nice photos and I enjoyed the concept of the step-by-step method. Some nice recipes, but needs more 'family friendly' recipes for everyday family meals and a bit more clarification on the ingredients. ie = what is a digestive biscuit? ✓ Don't get!!!!!!First off why is this the app of the week and who Is dumb enough to buy this app when it's not free there is literally only 3 categories of things you can look to make Italian, Asian and baked food and there not even complete lists you get this app with like 10 items you can see and then if you have to purchase any of the categories of foods you want to buy its 2.99 per category and the Asian is incomplete with only Chinese Asian not any other I Asian varieties anyways don't buy it or download it complete trash app apple needs to look at the apps the decide to make app of the week.Version: 7.0.2

✓ First of all-- I love it but...Make it so that i can print these-- I can`t take my 600$ machine into the kitchen -- do other people actually DO that??! Awesome pics, great recipes, I`ll definitely enjoy trying these out, but It should be more "open".. theres no reason why i should`t be able to print this out. Oh.. and tiramisu with just "strong coffee".. Hell no. I made this recipe-- incredibly delicious however, for next time, do real espresso, don`t pour in ½ cup of rum like what it tells you to because we did this and my 10 year old got completely drunk on one slice (i would only do about ¼ cup, because this was so overpowering), and chop the chocolate yourself by using a cheap coffee bean chopper so you get some cool uneven variety of chocolate pieces, and put these in-between the layers too, not just on top. So yummy! This brings up new point--- PLEASE MAKE IT SO WE CAN COMMENT ABOUT RECIPES AND SAY WHAT WE LIKE/DONT LIKE/ COULD SUBSTITUTE/ DIFFICULTY RATING. It makes sense for such an expensive cookbook especially if there are only a few recipes..Version: 6.0

✓ Great idea. Terrible value and contentIf I paid he $3.99 asking price I'd be furious (I got it free). The idea is great. Very crisp HD images in categories, However there are not a lot of choices. And then once you do move around the in app purchases pop up... $2.99 a recipe! As a $4 paid app I would expect a lot more content available for free. I only kept it on my ipad this long so I could write a negative review to possible save people their money. ✓ A very good beginning - Needs nutritional information and more recipes.This has a gorgeous visual layout, some good recipes and clear photos and instructions. However, for this price it should include nutritional information and a lot more recipes. The current recipe assortment is an interesting sample but is skimpy, especially in the area of chicken and vegetarian dishes (and most of the vegetarian dishes seem to be side dishes rather than main courses.) A terrific cookbook idea, hope that the developers will continue to enhance this good beginning..Version: 4.0

✓ A free app that could save you $3The app was free, which is nice, but requires a $2.99 payment to fully unlock three of the four cookbooks that come with the app by default. The good thing is the extra content is $1 cheaper then normal. If you check the other Photo Cookbook apps from the developer, they are charging $3.99 for individual apps that have the same content found in the Quick and Easy unlockable categories such as Baking and Asian meals. In the future, I hope they expand on the usefulness of Quick and Easy by making more cookbooks available directly within the app, instead of having to individually purchase their standalone apps which are dedicated to only one food or topic..Version: 7.0.2
✓ Meh.The only thing that this app really has going for it is that it's pretty. For what it is it's overpriced, nothing goes into great detail and the recipes are very basic. I mean you want me to buy store bought crepes? Get real! That usually means its going to taste disgusting! I don't really know about the pho recipe, shouldn't I let the beef cook a bit before serving? I'll never know! ✓ Maybe??It's a shame that the developers of this app, which has obviously been well made and thought out, has become the victim of Apple advertising. The Xmas 'gift' of a free app has confused people into thinking everything is free related to the developer products. Unfortunately for the developer, this has turned into a poison chalice and with the majority of bad reviews has tainted this app and probably their whole range of products. If this was just an opportunity for revenue and marketing by the developer, then the criticism is well deserved. ✓ What a ripoff!I installed this app and it looked great, but then most of the pictures of the recipes "went dark" and a little pop-up came up telling me I could buy them!!! I did buy the dessert recipes (even though there were only two cookie recipes) and then couldn't get rid of the pop-up. ✓ Really?This update is lame. I have already purchased the baking application, and here the developer is asking me to purchase it again through an in app purchase. If there really are any new baking recipes in this in app purchase I have been unable to ferret them out. Additionally, to receive all the recipes I am to pay an extra $15 for an app I have already paid $5 for?? And on top of that, the majority of what I am assuming are to be 'example recipes' were a part of this app prior to this update! ✓ DeceptiveIf you are an uncultured slob like me - don't but this app. Let's see.....Sardines with Pine Kernels and Raisins - yum! How about - Monkfish Skewers with Basil Mayonnaise - delicious! Better yet - I think I'll serve the kiddos a generous helping of Sea Bass with Olive Gremolatta tonight. And for dessert you get....Blueberry Amaretti Mess - yes, you read that right - Mess! ✓ Nice at first...I bought this app awhile back and i liked it but I felt that it needed more recipes. There was a recent update to add new recipes based on Italian and asian dishes I was excited to update it until I find out that I have to buy the extra recipes! ✓ Neither a dud nor a five starSome people huff and puff about the fact that Apple delivered this app as a freebie but with only a relatively small subset of recipes available for free. Agree with them that this is a cheap and nasty decision from Apple that goes against the spirit of the 12 days of Christmas promotion. But no need to get all cheap and nasty about it in return. Others react to the negative overreaction with a positive overreaction claiming that this is a very good app. It isn't. The app is ok. So are the recipes. Just ok. The best thing is the way photos clearly highlight the recipes. But this is something that many other apps get right too. There is one big gimmick: You get access to a variety of information about each ingredient. The problem is that this information is mostly meaningless. It includes the ingredient's "culinary significance" (up to five star with no information about what it all means) or its translation in a variety of languages - nothing really helpful. I downloaded it when it was free. Don't regret doing so. But won't pay to unlock the recipes not available for free. And would not advise anybody to pay to it. However the recipes are very limited (not sure about the exact number but it feels like there are about 60 - 70 recipes total). And they are rather particular in taste with hardly any European or American dishes so it is not something you can refer to often.
