It was a great idea to fold all of the cookbooks into one “umbrella” app and allow us to chose with cookbooks we wanted to add to the collection. When the developers did this I had already purchased very cookbook because each one is amazing in its detailed photographic and written (step by step) instructions. This app, or rather these apps have been my absolute favors from their launch — it’s a collection of cookbooks that have e never left my iPhone or my iPad..Version: 8.4
✓ Beautiful app!I got the app hoping for a great recipe guide... The pics are really quite brilliant, my ONLY gripe with it is the recipes are a bit limited and there's not much "comfort food". The recipes are quite nice though and I a thoroughly pleased with the quality of the images. It's very well laid out and it made perfectly for the iPad! My hope would be free updates with more "comfort food" style recipes... Overall... Very nice app!.Version: 0

✓ Great AppThis app is clean and beautiful. I think why some get upset is that they paid an initial amount for one part of the book and feel ripped off if they have to pay for more. I only wanted the quick and simple and Italian. I paid a total of like $7. I would have easily paid that for a physical cookbook with the same recipes. If you buy all of it, it's like $12-$13, still a very reasonable price for a cookbook. They've just simplified it and allowed you to pay less if you don't want certain chapters. Think of it that way and it makes perfect sense. Thanks for a great app that lets me experiment with new food in a fun way!.Version: 7.0.2

✓ Astounding!Every time I make a recipe with this book it always,yes always goes my way! I made quick tiramisu this afternoon and it turned out like a professional chef did it! That’s all down to this great digital book, as I being ten have barely no cookery skills at all. Also it has pictures so you can compare your cooks to it. ✓ AmazingThis is really good coz u have all ur daily essential needs for cooking and baking. You be able to look this stuff up on the Internet instead if buying it but I was at the supermarket and I forgot my list if ingredients for the meal I was making for me and my family then I went on it and I could actually go on this app without an Internet connection how great is that and other people are saying that this app is bad coz u have to pay for the recipes and I hope they realise when they go on a different type of food like Asian and Italian and the white coloured recipes r the free o es so u get them ones and a great selection of quick and easy meals. They r that easy and quick that I made my family a speedy tuna pizza and they loved the other good thing is Im only 11 years old. ✓ MrThe presentation of each recipe is simply stunning. It beats any recipe book I have ever seen. I love the visual directions and the built in explanation about each ingredient. The only weakness is that there are not yet enough recipes to be really comprehensive - although that will hopefully change with future updates. There could be improvements in the browse system too - the current solution will quickly become unwieldy if hundreds of recipes are included. Having said that, I love this app and think it will become my main 'cook book'..Version: 0

✓ Well worth itI got this free with 12 days...I wouldn't have bought it as I'm really happy with my recipe book app. But this has turned out to be completely different. As it says, it is like a cookery course. It clarifies some instructions we get used to seeing in recipes that are vague and could be done wrong. The photo approach clears all these obtuse instructions up. I've just made the cauliflower bake and tiramisu for tonight's dinner. Incredibly quick and absolutely delicious. This has given me real confidence to tackle things I thought were beyond a simple home kitchen for an ordinary dinner!.Version: 6.2

This IS a good AppOk so this came to me via the 12 days of Christmas app from apple - at first glance I thought, hmm looks interesting then I started to read the recent reviews - all moaning how it was a rip off and a load of rubbish, etc etc and I was thinking maybe I wouldn't bother. Then I read an honest review from someone who said there were best part of 80 recipes that come with the free 12 days version so I thought, well come on people 80 recipes for free what's not to like, so I downloaded and I think it's BRILL! The recipes are clearly laid out, simple to follow an look amazing! Yes I have bought the rest of the Italian cookbook but come on, £1.99 for loads of awesome recipes, a billy bargain in my book! We did, in fact, get 80 or so recipes free with the 12 days offer, and £1.99 for each additional section is a bargain! It's great to see what your ingredients should look like along the way, and they make it all look so pretty and inviting.. ✓ The 12 day gift app is free!!!If you read the title of the 12 day gift they were giving you'll see that it says it was the quick and easy section, which even if you bought it on your own will still have the other sections blacked out because you haven't bought them yet and the whole thing is like one big book even though you have to buy the different sections separately. Therefore apple has given us the free app it promised, you all just don't get it! Hope you all got it now though :) btw a really good app from what I've seen so far...just takes getting use to the layout..Version: 6.2

✓ Gorgeous appThis app is stunning to look at. I love the beautiful images. The recipes are great - had the tapenade chicken tonight and everyone raved over it. Each step in the method of each recipe has it's own image so you know exactly what you are doing. And every ingredient in the recipes has a 'more info' section so you can read about each ingredient. You get 60 (15 recipes in 4 categories) in the Quick and Easy section, all beautifully laid out, with very illustrative photography so that you can see the ingredients (and estimate the amounts) at a glance. You would easily pay the same or more for an e-book. Makes me wonder what people think $3-4 entitles them to; just because it's not a physical object you're buying doesn't mean that time, effort and creativity didn't go into making it. Looks very simple and the photo steps are very clear so I'm sure even beginners would be able to follow the recipes. Looking at the other sections it seems that some of those recipes are included in the Q&E package as not all are greyed out. Will probably treat myself to the other packages in the future as I think the quality of the app is great. Why on earth are people complaining that they didn't get all the recipes for free? Only thing I would say is a novice would have to keep scrolling up to get quantities of ingredients. As this is an online book, they could have been added as a reminder when they are to be included. The app has excellent features such as the instant email with the ingredients list, detailed information of all the ingredients when you tap on the image and the step by step photos of the recipe. ✓ What is everyone going on about??After reading the truly awful reviews this app is receiving, I was beginning to think whether I should give today's gift a pass. I'm glad I didn't. What all these reviews seem to be putting across is that you don't get any recipes and that you have to pay extra to get them. THIS IS NOT THE CASE!!! There are actually around 75 recipes you get on this app FOR FREE and there are 3 in app purchases (for £2 each) if you wish to get more. So to be honest I don't see why you're complaining. In a few minutes of browsing I found dozens of recipes I'm going to try. I have never found a single recipe in Epicurious that I want to actually make. Nice variety of ingredients and cooking styles. The complaints about pricing are ridiculous -- just think how much a printed cookbook of this many color photos would cost! Two suggestions: it would be nice if the individual ingredients could be identified in the group photos (perhaps by popups when I touch the ingredient). At times it can be difficult to tell what's what. Also, nutrition info would be nice, just as a guideline (though I tend to sub lower-calorie equivalents anyway). ✓ FABULOUSLet me jut start off by saying that I, a 13 year old, was able to follow one of the recipes in this app precisely. It really helped me cook a meal for my family, which I've always wanted to do but never knew what to make. I absolutely adore this app due to the fact that I am a vegetarian and it separates the food types into columns (ie: meats, fish, vegetarian, dessert) and so when I chose a recipe to make, I knew that what I was making was 100% vegetarian. It simply just told me! Another thing I love about this app is how it shows pictures!! Without them, I probably would have completely messed up the recipe ten times along the way. P.S. GET THIS GREAT APP WHILE IT IS FREE (because to be honest, if I found it at full price, then I most likely wouldn't have purchased it. I've already made the Steak n Salsa recipe which was great, and there's plenty more in the free section to try out before you would have to purchase another section. Nobody is making anyone download it..To have people review it using words like 'disgusting' and 'outrageous' to describe the thought of parting with £1.99 for the additional cuisines makes me SIGH. I think the overall design of the app coupled with the beautiful and simplistic photography make £1.99 a very reasonable price, considering how much thought and effort has obviously gone into developing it. ✓ Great aid to culinary skillsI've been using this app for quite a while now, in fact it's responsible for the continuing use of my 1st gen ipad which would otherwise lay unused. It's clear and well laid out but it's the lack of complication that wins you over. The details say you get 84 free recipes, which seems about right, and the are very few apps it seems nowadays that don't have additional in app purchases. ✓ WonderfulAbsolutely beautiful app. Usually I am skeptical of reviews like this but this is wonderful. It solves the one problem of most cookbooks and recipe apps; although they have photos of the final dish they rarely have useful photos the steps along the way, leaving you to rely on the strangely worded descriptions. But this app includes photos of everything! All ingredients and all steps. It is carefully laid out with intuitive and gorgeous photos. It much have taken a lot of effort. Well done. ✓ SatisfiedI too got this app via the 12days gift app. I don't understand why people are giving this bad reviews and moaning that there's hardly any free content. The app specifies that your getting the quick and easy recipes, which you do! There's 4 categories and although it isn't blatant you can in fact scroll down each category (like meat or fish for example) and there's quite a few recipes for each one! Plus people its free !?! May not be all recipes but there's a good amount !!.Version: 6.2
