Pool Doctor for Negative User Reviews

Not worth itI have high stabilizer level and I know this, but the program does not take that into account when making its calculations. It told me that since I had slightly high alkalinity to add 8 GALLONS of muriatic acid to the pool! I took the water to the pool store and they said to only add 1 gallon since my high stabilizer level causes an artificially high alkalinity reading. Not happy it cost me $10 for this program!.Version: 2.6.1

DisappointingPretty much useless. Sorry! Whilst it has the underlying formulae and calcs, it is all presented in a very illogical layout that just did not work for me. Would be much better if you could simply enter your current and target values for a parameter and hence get the amount of chemical needed. Instead it is based on an entire measurement set plus it gives the output in "scoops".. who does that!! Would have been far better to just present output in Lbs Oz .. plus offer a metric option since most of the world does not use Lb and Oz!.Version: 3.1

Not suitable for AustraliaThe app looks good, but it doesn't allow you to work in metric. Some recommended chemicals aren't ones commonly used in Australia (muriatic acid).Version: 0

Not accurate anymoreI use this app for my hot tub and I clearly know that the chemicals are off with the readings but this says it’s fine..Version: 3.33

Poor.....Lacks DetailThis app comes up short. It lacks the detain needed to maintain your water quality. If you are managing your pool today, then you are smart enough to understand basic water chemistry. This app doesn't give you what you need. There are other apps out there that provide that information. Don't waste your money on this one..Version: 3.0

Good but...This app is good but 1. It’s unclear if the developer is adding new features. The app contains a link to what’s coming next from the author. Next, but not done. 2. Calculations especially for acid are quite different from what the pool store prescribes. My pool has new plaster, so pH and Ca are always trending up on their own. Good app, but seeking another app that doesn’t have these shortcomings..Version: 3.33

Useless for small poolsMy chlorine level is way low, but the pool is very small. Evidently, all I have to do is add 0 pounds of chlorine and everything will be fine. Useless!.Version: 3.33

Pool Doctor v1.3Calculations don't work for metric. Wasted my money. Don't buy until this is fixed..Version: 1.3

Helpful App, kinda pricey, setup & user interface leaves a little to be desiredThis app works and is more helpful now that you can sync across devices with a cloud account. But, you'll need to setup each device - you cannot sync your chemicals and target levels across devices. Input controls and design is rudimentary and not well thought out, but the app functions well enough..Version: 3.1

Mostly GoodThe app will accept a settings change for Shock under Change Chemicals, but when I run a report, no matter what type of shock I selected, it always tells me to add "Granular Chlorine (67% Calcium Hypochlorite). Is there a path for support on this?.Version: 3.1

Crashes constantlyUseless app that just crashes after entering a. Reading.Version: 3.33

Good but notIt’s now $20 but it used too be free. it doesn’t even have cyanuric acid as a reading.Version: 3.51

Crashed and no supportThis is a great app when it works but now it doesn't work. Keeps crashing and when you click on app support, the page is no longer available. So I recommend finding a different app..Version: 3.1

It's okayI bought this because it was only $1. It works okay. But I ended up buying and using Pool Calculator ($5) because it lets you work with a far broader range of chemicals and tests and remembers your settings. However, if you are not too fussy, the Easy Balance feature gets you where you need to go fast..Version: 0

DisappointedThe app allows you to change units for type of acid , for example I use 31% muriatic but when I put in my test values it still says add so many ounces of 15% acid..Version: 3.3

Settings don’t agree with suggestionsI have the muriatic acid set to 31.4%, but suggestion tells how much of 15.7% muriatic acid to add..Version: 3.33

Changes my entered valuesEvery time I enter a value it changes once I confirm. The ph number goes down by a few .01, and the chlorine goes up by .1 Since all I am using egos for is to track my pool levels it makes it pretty useless. Paper and pencil would be better..Version: 3.33
