✓ Low res, and doesnThe reviews all claim this is the best Squeezebox controller for iPad, but they are wrong. On the new iPad (aka iPad 3) all the text and graphics are very blocky and clearly are not using the high res display. You can't operate the iPad in portrait mode because SqueezePad does not rotate it's user interface. But worst of all there seems to be no way of doing the equivalent of pressing + on the Squeezebox Duet Controller to display track info, I do this a lot to get to More Info to see the bit rate and show the tags. I advise spending your money on iPeng HD instead, I bought that after buying SqueezePad and found that iPeng HD does everything I want and more..Owen Symon SmithVersion: 1.9.3

✓ Very slow with large collectionAs much as I wanted to like this application, it was unusably slow for me. For example, when I go to the list of artists, it takes over a minute to show the list. This would be OK if it only happened once, but every time I go back to the list of artists, I have to wait 60 or 70 seconds. I have a fairly large music collection (about 12,000 songs), which may have something to do with it; maybe the other reviewers have smaller collections and don't see this behavior. In any event, having to wait so long to select the next song to listen to pretty much ruins the experience, however much I like the overall concept. One other small inconvenience is that I had to identify my server by IP address rather than using the machine name (which is what displays when I connect the players). It's not a huge issue, obviously, but it would help improve the usability of the initial setup..Jes SVersion: 0

✓ Terrible - don't waste your money on this.At $13 this app is a complete rip off. I feel shafted and I weish I could get a refund. The design is ordinary and the functionality extremely limited. I could not get album art to display. There also seem to be usability disaters such as not being able to return to the home page. Save your money and use the web app via safari. ✓ What happened to instant response?Still love the app, but the new version fails in a big way by introducing a very discernable lag when adjusting volume slider and when clicking a title to play. ✓ The app is OK; the radio needs a lot of workThe whole purpose, the only purpose, of all this stuff is to be able to listen to the things you want clearly, without interruption and no interference. Well, none of this stuff gives you that. I don't know if it's the app, though I doubt it, that causes the problem, but be warned, be very warned, about the whole Squeezebox radio business. It is a work in progress and the progress is slow to come to useful enjoyment. Hopefully they will take to heart the comments and correct it. I would be pleased if they could make it work as well as, say, a radio, or, if possible, a CD recorder. OK, a radio would do. Maybe even an old crystal set!.BillclockVersion: 1.9.1

✓ Didn't work for meWhen first installed wouldn't ever connect.....lots of messing about and it some times connects then pops up with the connection error message...impossible to navigate music folders on my server as not all of my music has tags. All in all its worse than the logitech free software as that does navigate my folders and very rarely drops connection. Looks like its because of the many folders I have and lack of tags. ✓ Squeezepad doesn't workI bought this app solely for the Squeezepad add-on. At first, everything seemed great. Then I started noticing frequent drop-outs, particularly when loading artwork. My wireless connection is getting 20Mbps to the outside world, so that shouldn't be the problem. Finally, it just stopped playing any music at all, though the progress bar seemed to indicate that it thought it was playing music. The playlist in question plays just fine on my Duet. I restarted the track that was "playing," and things were fine for a while, but the same thing happened again 14 seconds in to the track. On another restart, it made it past the 14 second mark, but still went silent after some time. I'll also note that the controls get extremely sluggish during music playback, often taking over a second to respond. Update: Setting a 320k rate limit on the server solved most of the issues, but there are still occasional drop-outs. Perhaps the Squeezepad player just can't handle FLAC. 2nd update: After dropping the rate limit to 256k, I have not experienced any more drop-outs..M+m ranchVersion: 1.9.8

✓ Too many bugs with large databasesBrowsing my library (46,000 tracks) is painful. 80% of the time, squeeze pad resets to home (and the wrong player) when lists are longer (100 items, for example). Otherwise, almost good with navigation too static..Cef222222Version: 1.10.1

✓ Playback Does Not Work !Update. 13th Jan 2011 The playback on the iPad is very flakey on an authenticated Squeezebox Server, still get 'no audio stream' but sometimes plays. When it does work, it is very nice but I would have liked to have seen the standard Airplay buttons appear to direct audio output from within the app rather than use the iOS facility. I have had this application for a few months and was quite excited to see that it supported Playback in the latest release. However, I tried it on about 25 or so different random tracks and not one worked issuing the error 'No audio stream'. Not good. That aside it is a competent app, although I prefer and tend to use iPeng more. Once the above works, I may switch back again !.__Pez__Version: 1.7.1

✓ Less than expectedThis ap works great when it works but can be a pain when or does not. It is more convenient to use and operate than the controller that came with the Logitech Duet system. However, at times it gets hung up and freezes making it useless. I paid the extra fee to upgrade to use my iPad mini as a third receiver and a Bluetooth speaker to add to my system. Same complaint, the controller would hang up and not function as a receiver. i was hoping to impress my friends during a recent house party. Wound up shutting down the music. Not good.
