✓ Good app but you need to pay extra for use from anywhereThis works well but the information should be more upfront at the top of the info that it only let's you access computers on your network unless you subscribe to a PAID access anywhere upgrade which is yearly or monthly. ✓ Stay Away—Far AwayI have tried this application on two occasions when I was away from the home computer for periods of 10 weeks to 10 months. In both cases the application failed after a few days—it proved to be less reliable than free remote offerings. Tech support was terrible—they don't seem to read the emails carefully, and invariably ask you to try something you have already tried (and addressed in the initial email) or they ask you to check something on the remote computer: HOW CAN THIS BE DONE WHEN I AM USING SPLASHTOP TO ACCESS THE COMPUTER. (For the record, I tested the streamer before leaving). Even for a hobbyist, this application does not make the grade. And, to top it off, after several fruitless email, I receive an email marking the problem as “solved.” I fear the only solution is to find another application..Version: 3.5.8.9

✓ Great product but recent update broke more than fixedGreat app which i use all the time for various computers around the home. The latest update though seemed to have broken the mouse location tracking on my computer (windows 8 machine). At times the mouse pointer is directly under where you press, lift your finger and go somewhere else on the screen and the pointer is to the right of your finger and do it again and its to your left. The pointer tracking is just all over the shop and at the moment is not usable. Hope you guys release a fix fast!!! So yeah great product but recent update kinda messed things up a little. ✓ Windows 8 SupportI am glad to see that there is finally Windows 8 gestures included in the app which I think is a welcome addition that many of us have been waiting for. This finally allows us to use our computer remotely with ease. I was also very happy to see that there was the possibility of having customisable on-screen shortcuts. I was less pleased that this is a paid feature. I feel that this app is getting too subscription based and I think that while you can understand connecting using Splashtop Servers to other computers, the shortcuts are simply enabling a small added feature of no charge to Splashtop. I would have thought that this could have been a welcome new addition to the app or part of the subscription service. I wouldn't even mind if it was a one off payment for it as I could see this being very useful in my computer use. This is now constantly wherever I look advertising the fact that I am wanted to buy a subscription to use this feature. If it is not going to be a free addition then I would at least like the ability to hide the buttons for it, especially in the Remote Desktop view. I could understand this behaviour from a free app but we are all aware that this is a paid app with a subscription service built in, so why should we have to pay more? I think that this should be something that Splashtop thinks about before alienating present and future customers..Version: 2.2.0.6
✓ In-app purchase doesn’t workApp won’t let me connect to a service outside my network, says I need to upgrade....but I’m already a subscriber, I’ve already upgraded. When I try to repurchase in the app, apple says, via a dialog box, I can’t do it because I’ve already subscribed. There is no ‘restore purchase’ option. Support for Splashtop has been worthless. They wanted proof via a receipt. I emailed them the receipt from Itunes, then they wanted a screen shot of the very same receipt. It has been weeks. I’m done. I’m sure the app itself is fine, but there are payment bugs, hence I can’t use it....and I spent $17 for the annual subscription. Frustrated and moving on to a better solution (or at least a company with better support)..Version: 2.7.4.4
✓ Update has issuesAfter updating, iMac cannot be connected to when in standby, older version woke it up. Means computer must be logged in and the screen running when connecting to it remotely. Additionally, it will no longer connect to work PC as it requires login to access. As the work PC is not kept logged on it cannot see the PC and fails to connect. On top of that, there is no updated remote for the PC so my work PC can no longer connect to the home iMac. Just because that is not enough, you have also completely the option to connect via IP. I am now trying to get the programs reverted back to the old version as everything i use it for is broke. Beware updating..Version: 2.0.0.4
✓ Totally dissatisfiedI honestly want a refund! The first year everything worked perfectly but last August when I purchased the upgraded version (two things) it stopped working! I’ve asked tech support for assistance only to see that it is still not working! Then I forgot to unsubscribe and they charged me again this past month so I said that I would try it again only to see that I am having the same issues! I need a technical support phone number to speak to a representative. At this point all I want is my money back not resolutions sent to my email that don’t work. ✓ Good but needs login reliabilityWhen it works (more on that later) this app works well. It is easy to connect to computers even when hidden behind corporate networks etc. I have found it reasonably fast, even when running over 3G using it to display moving trend charts. The one issue I've had with it is the computer client seems to lose its login details periodically. This means unless I've checked that I'm logged in before I leave for the weekend I will sometimes not be able to find my office computer when I try to log into it. This can be very annoying! Only seems to happen on a fresh boot, if you've made sure it's logged in it doesn't log out while the computer is running as far as I can tell..Version: 2.1.0.5
✓ Worked for a few months... now it won’t connect.I have reached out to support team several times and been given the same instructions several times even after telling them I’ve already tried those things! They keep telling me to uninstall the program and reinstall. I’ve done that 3 times already and it still doesn’t work. I’ve asked for a number to call and they told me they don’t provide phone support for my version. I have cancelled my subscription until they resolve this problem. I am a teacher who used this app for my classroom and it was very helpful in keeping my students engaged, but not when it won’t work! I also have 2 teacher friends who are experiencing the same thing. ✓ Work to a pointConnect straight away, then drops connection after one or two mins, sometimes a few seconds, when it does connect, when I click or highlight something then the computer does it straight away but the screen on my iPad takes an age to do anything, then it normally drops the connection anyway. I have a brilliant wireless connection which is used throughout the house, everything else works and never fails well hardly ever, but this seems not to keep connected, which is a shame as the program is simple to use and the security is second to none. If I use nothing else in the house and just this program it still drops after a few mins, in fact the longest it stayed connected was about 5 mins tops. ✓ It's a good app but...The app itself works fine, no problems encountered yet at all, but the in app purchase system is just stupid now. I had the app since version 1 and so I have the anywhere access pack for free, unlimited, so that's quite nice to have, but that, to some degree is acceptable to charge a subscription style fee to use, what I don't understand is how it is acceptable to have to pay this style fee for the game pad option, a single one off purchase I might actually go for but I'm not going to pay that kind of money because I don't even know how well it works, they should at least give us maybe a couple of days trail period to see what we would even be paying for, it's not much to ask, a little 'try before you buy' to see that what you're buying works..Version: 2.2.5.7
✓ Can't stream Windows Media CentreCan't stream Windows Media Centre I brought this app to mainly stream content from windows media centre to my iPad but It it just keeps on crashing and then it shows an error message stating "splashtop Streamer currently does not support applications that require direct screen access" - so the app that states it can stream content...CAN'T --- now why do they not tell us that in the app description - I guess if they did then it would then go against the app being able to stream content remotely to other devices and so we would not buy the app if we knew about this Major Fault - so this way they are hoping you will get sucked in like me and give them lots of your hard earned money only to get this message and end up deleting the app and wishing you could get a refund for false advertising.Version: 2.0.0.6

✓ Ok but doesn’t work well with ipad multitask modeThe app in general is ok to use. Not as good as teamviewer in terms of connection quality, but overall experience is good. However a big issue for me is that whenever I drag another app as a small window hover on the side of the screen, the keyboard input to the remote desktop is disabled. And this issue remains even I closed the other small window. Then I have to disconnect and reconnect with my remote desktop again..Version: 3.4.8.1
✓ Surprise SubscriptionThe program itself is not to bad, however have just found that I need to pay a 'monthly subscription fee' to be actually able to use this outside my own network? This was surprising and very disappointing as its renders the program fairly useless if I can only use it standing 5m from my desktop (unless you pay the extra for an ongoing hidden cost). ✓ Doesn't work on MacWARNING This app has major connectivity and network issues with Mac's. For over a year the company has been unable to solve the problem. The software on my Mac mini believes there is always someone connected to splashtop and therefore I always get a 'someone is already connected' error message on my iPad. Read up on any forum and everyone has the same problem. On pc it works a charm. Considering this is on apple's app store you'd think it'd function well on apple computers. I'd love to know how much money this company has made off people who haven't even gotten it working from day 1. Who's going to give me a refund? ✓ Actual Concept Is Great, Lots of BugsThe actual concept is great, but there are a few bugs that will literally ruin your work. The main bug is random text entries being sent at later times because the HTTP packet was denied by the server, or never sent, resulting in a string of words being applied minutes after the typing. Example: First attempt: Keyboard Entry: “The apple is red.” String: “” The REST API sends, but the text doesn’t populate. Attempting to retry request. Second attempt: Keyboard Entry: “The apple is red.” String: “The apple is red.” The REST API sends, and the text populates. Third attempt: Keyboard Entry: “The orange is orange.” String: “The apple is red. The orange is orange.” The REST API sends, and the text populates. Delayed API: After retry, the first attempt is successful and populates the current string. Keyboard Entry: NULL (no entry) String: “The apple is red. The orange is orange. The apple is red.” I think the easiest solution to this bug is to drop failed requests and never attempt retry. Or if a request exceeds 3 seconds, drop the request. ✓ Very poor upgradeEven less usable after the recent ios 11 update. Constantly quits since last updated, AVOID. The original splashtop was superb, easy to use and connected easily, a new control interface made it even better and it was perfect. Splashtop 2 arrived and while it looked like a genuine upgrade over the original it seriously failed to deliver, connection is almost impossible and stability once connected makes this totally unusable, the splashtop account issues others have mentioned is a very serious issue and I an surprised this hasn't been removed from the app store yet. ✓ Pay for Pen Pressure?I decided to give this app a try to see if I can use my PC art programs with a more portable tablet option. The app on its own is great and functions very well. I recommend it to anyone who needs to access their PC at home but aren’t able to physically reach it. My issue comes in when I can’t get my apple pencil to function as a tool rather than another finger. Looking into it, I found it’s a pay-to-use feature to have stylus support. While this alone isn’t a big issue, I don’t want to have to pay a regular fee for a feature that could be a single transaction. It’s more a kick of sand in the consumers’ face that the enterprise version seems to be the only version of the app that actually supports the use of styluses..Version: 3.4.8.1
✓ Last update broke it-againI can’t understand how you can release an update that breaks a core feature of the program. A tap on my iPad screen used to generate a mouse click at the point of the tap. Now all it does is BLINK on the screen. The cause was turning on a standard feature built into the system. Please stop doing updates without proper testing. ✓ Difficult to useI have this and the much more expensive LogMeIn, but I have to say I keep going back to LogMeIn. Both products are buggy (I can't get any sound and VLC player doesn't work on Splashtop), but the thing that is so great about LogMeIn, which Splashtop really need to copy, is the virtual mouse pointer. So instead of impossibly fiddly hit and miss taps, even when zoomed in, and utterly unnatural three finger scrolling, they have a mouse pointer (with momentum scrolling) and treat the whole iPad surface as a giant mouse pad. So you move the mouse pointer around the screen exactly as you would on a laptop So you get perfect precision movements and perfect clicks, spot on every time. Also their zoom is better (snaps to 100%). And although screen update is not as fast, it can show VLC player working on my desktop. So Splashtop is better value, but LogMeIn is simply more usable. Oh, and when travelling the world I can get LogMeIn to access my computer when sometimes Splashtop cannot. So a product that has LogMeIn usability and features and Splashtop's speed would be the perfect product..Version: 1.7.0.2
✓ CrashWas using this app perfectly fine, was running smooth and swiftly, was really impressed, I still am, however when I recently updated to iOS 8 the app crashes every time I try and connect to my Mac. It will give me the connecting symbol however crashes within two seconds after. I googled this situation and it seems to be a common problem for a lot of other iOS 8 users. Obviously I want to stick with the latest software update but I would love this app to work in the meantime. No one within the splashtop support team seems to be answering or replying to anyone's queries so just trying to emphasise this problem! Hopefully the splashtop support guys will get this annoying problem sorted soon as I use this app quite frequently. ✓ Let down by streamer app required on computerImmediate install problem with the Streamer app on my mac 10.6.8; I see on the support website that other users have had this same issue (error on file Soundflower) and that it can cause problems with the mac's sound. However the streamer ran OK and I was able to connect, but with very high CPU usage, unacceptable. That's it for me - no iPad app is worth risking causing malfunctions on my MacBook. Streamer now uninstalled but after this Activity Monitor on the mac will no longer display the floating CPU window correctly. Now running a full Time Machine restore to remove all traces, I hope. EDIT: apologies, Activity Monitor CPU window was OK after all but had disappeared offscreen on my desktop display, having shifted during use of Splashtop so that it was on the MacBook's display instead - but that was dimmed right down so I did not spot it. But I would now add another concern, which is that the developers have not responded to a forum post on their web site from other users asking about the security of the traffic between the computer and the Splashtop device..Version: 1.6.0.2
✓ I'm sick of it!What happened to this app? I purchased it when it was 1st released and was 1.19 it was brilliant I never thought anything like it was possible. But these last few months/updates have ruined it! Everytime I connect or try....it says cannot connect to computer. ✓ Why should we pay have to pay such a lump thrice!You pay for the app expecting the premium service, yet you are still only getting the lite edition. Talk about money suckers! It's not even a cheap app! I would expect to pay 50% of the app price for an added feature not 300% per year. This applies for the gamepad and anywhere access. I already pay for the internet, I pay for the app and yet its only a lite version. Please Reconsider your Business model, it is deeply flawed, and will hinder your sales. ✓ Having some issuesI only just got this and was super excited to try it out. However straight away I ran into some issues. I can’t make an account because it says that it can’t connect to the splash top servers. I tried googling for answers but every splashtop forum brought up a message saying that it can’t load the page because it can’t connect to the server. Is there something wrong with the servers altogether, I’d like to know because I really don’t want this to be a waste of money! -Thankyou 10/04 - Thanks for the response but the issue isn’t with my PC but with my IPad. ✓ Does not work and no supportI purchased the application to view MacBook Pro desktop on my IPad. I am very computer savvy having used Apple products for 25 years. I am on the latest operating systems for both devises. There is virtually no on line support for the personnel application. There is verbal and chat support for Business only. It does not work. The limited FAQ available provides recommended settings that do not work. That is it, I have no where to turn with exception to submitting a trouble report. Not very impressive. ✓ Designed with mac in the back of its mind.For what seemed like an excellent app, it quickly became a disappointment. Now don't get me wrong the frame work is fantastic, it connects quickly it's not even particularly laggy, but for me, being able to drag the cursor around the desktop as you can on a track pad would be a really brilliant thing. The ability to do this would actually allow me to open a web browser to take advantage of the fact that its two finger scroll actually works quite well. (but do watch out for the accidental zooming) Admittedly this is only a problem for people like me because my system preferences has the "automatically hide and show dock" check box ticked, a personal preference of mine. However I like the idea of this app and I want to find the good in it. So I unchecked the box. Great now I can remotely, remotely control my computer. I just can't really comprehend why you can not control the cursor in this way. And why so few of the trackpad features such as exposé and reveal desktop have been completely overlooked. I bought this app with productivity in mind, but when you have to change the way you use your computer just to use the app you kind of want that change to be worth it. It just isn't though. All in all this app has the potential to be fantastic, it's just a shame that I don't feel like I'm controlling my mac when I use it. ✓ Greedy cheats!I paid for your app. It's a feature I needed and I got. I don't need access to my computers from my iPad on my home network! I need it remotely. That's why I bought it. Before that was included in the app as part of the features. I upgraded as I do all my apps.... Now I have to pay a buck a month or 10 bucks a years for a feature that was included in the app before as part of the payment. I can't even downgrade!!! This is greed. Nothing more. It's not the cost, it's being duped into something against my will. Being given a fun little surprise after i've already downloaded and installed the new app. That's just shady and wrong. ✓ Disappointed with the feeBeen using the app for a long time. Happy with how it works, saved me a number of times. I am however disappointed with the fee to connect from a different network. I paid for a fully working app, now you want more of my money to use something I already paid for! I don't use the app on my local network at all. Only when I'm away. So if I don't want to pay (never agreed to it, you're forcing me), the app becomes useless for me. I'm giving you 1 star for that. Without the fee it's 5. And I'm uninstalling it. ✓ No longer works properly on iPad OS 13.3I have to uninstall and reinstall before it works on my iPad. Been that way since IOS 13. Grrr! Works fine from my Win10 laptop to my PC..Version: 3.3.4.1
✓ Harassment to upgrade AND you are forced to create an account with themDo you still have to create an account with you OR have you reintroduced the ability to work in a LAN without that or any other external connection? My rating won't change until you fix that. I loved V1 but I have been harassed by prompts to upgrade both my iPad and pc versions... DON'T DO IT... After the upgrade you are forced to create an account with them otherwise you cannot use the software. I have no intention of opening up my home network to the world and have no interest in creating an account that I have no interest in and will never use. I was extremely happy with it operating in my home network only and now, as I cannot reinstall V1, have wasted my money. ✓ Worst everI paid for this app some six years ago, used it twice. Didn't know that it was a subscription. My Apple ID used to purchase the app has changed five years ago, have no access to the mailbox associated with previous Apple ID. I have no subscriptions with current Apple ID. It's up to the developers of the app to cancel my subscription as I am unable to do so. I have deleted the app from iPad and will never use again..Version: 2.7.6.1
