✓ Truly Brilliant!!!!This app is truly brilliant if you are at home using wifi! You can sit in bed and access the files on your computer in the living room. It's simple to set up and gives you immediate access to your home computer. Finally I can use Microsoft Word on my iPad. The downsides are that your home/work computer has to be on all the time, you have to deactivate sleep mode and it doesn't work outside of the home, even if you have the same networks. You need to pay for the Go Anywhere Coverage, which is really cheap. Then it works, but the pages change over a little slowly..Demetri TVersion: 2.3.5.4

I have upgraded to an iPad pro and it has become useless. Mind you on the iPad 2 it still works fine. The worst part is the customer support. ✓ Good app - minor issuesThis makes a really good app. I'm not sure what people are talking about when they say it doesn't work for Mac OS X - it's been connecting and working perfectly. Even though my upload speed is terrible - around 20kb/sec, I have had no lag. There has only been one issue for me, though. It isnt big enough to really merit the loss of a star. After I disconnect and go back to my Mac, anything with mouse over detection doesn't work. This tends to be a pain in the neck when it comes to menus etc. it's not too bad now, but please fix it ASAP!!! I feel as if the value of my ipad has tripled thanks to this app. This app has absolutely no lagging while using a number of software on my desktop. However, there are a few little things that are stopping me giving it a 5 star rating, such as no screen lock so that when I drag with two fingers it doesn't zoom instead. I've also only got it to work over 3G about twice; maybe a guide with the app or program might be useful as well. Another thing is the lack of support for full screen programs, but I'm sure that'll be here soon. If you intend to access your PC from somewhere outside of your network, you will need to buy their Access Pack for a monthly charge of $4.99. Not bad. I was concerned that I would need to leave my computer on and my user logged in. Not the case. A PC cannot be awakened without doing some homework and adjustments, but if you’re OK leaving it on, but logged off, then no problem. I left a negative review a few days ago and took it down. The only problem with it is when you connect with the selected computer the computer screen goes into a square image display instead of the rectangle sort of display. ✓ The best Remote Desktop app.A remarkably functional application that gives very responsive remote control of any system that will run the streaming application (eg Windows or OS X) at a decent resolution. I find the odd subscription method for the ability to use it off-network, a feature that I consider to me the most useful ability of the app, to be a bit unnecessary. It does make it cheaper in the short term to what appears to be one of the primary alternatives, being LogMeIn Ignition, but a subscription method to add extra plugins for onscreen shortcuts rather than adding them as upgraded features in the app seems a bit mean, especially as the upgrade button can't be disabled if you have no interest in the module. Regardless, if you have a need to be able to remotely access a PC and VNC is just too unusable via a portable device, then Splashtop is pretty hard to beat. Responsive controls, streaming efficient enough that you can watch movies or play games (albeit with difficulty due to touchscreen controls) complete with audio, on newer LTE enabled devices its even practical, although possibly not affordable due to data usage, to use for remote media streaming via the cell network. Just be aware of how restrictive the app is in its "free" form, for many it may well still be all they need..KnightNZVersion: 2.2.0.6

I can access my macbook through my iPad from basically anywhere with a WiFi or cellular connection and so I can use my iPad as literally as a laptop replacement for when I need certain apps that just work better on a laptop (MS Office suite or Adobe Acrobat Pro for example). The yearly subscription price is reasonable enough as well. The support for GT Swiftpoint mouse is great and provides even more functionality, although using the virtual mouse isn’t too bad if you don’t mind using screen touch. WISHES: now that the iPad supports the magic keyboard with trackpad, I wish that Splashtop would also support the trackpad features to be able to control remote sessions using the trackpad instead of having to use the GT Swiftpoint mouse. I was willing to fork out the $30 (that other apps charge) to do this, then I came across splashtop which offered the same functionality but for only $4. I was skeptical because of this price but figured $4 is worth a look and I haven't looked back, this was the best decision I made, the app is truly amazing allowing me to watch movies from my pc, listen to music I have downloaded or streamed from the Internet from flash sites. I use my mini as a media station and wanted to use my iPad or even my iPhone as the remote control so I can spend my winter snuggled in bed. ✓ So close to perfectIts now been about a year since mouse functionality has been added to the ipad and splashtop, and with the release of the magic keyboard i would love to see a few very simple changes that would make splashtop the perfect experience for me. 1. There is a bug when using a mouse and trying to click on the icon that brings out the menu for the trackpad etc. when you click it, it quickly springs out the settings then closes immediately. It only works by tapping it with my finger. 2. The most important thing would simply be an option to hide the on screen trackpad as it takes up way too much real estate and is completely unneeded for some of us. 3. It’s a lot better than RDP, but many issues have remained for years with no fix. frame rate stuttering is still a problem, as is issues with some software’s mouse polling. It’s also developed new problems on iPad Pro, the on-screen buttons (which I pay subscription for) can’t be deleted, and sometimes get culled when outside of the normal iPad resolution. ✓ Brilliant, but...Out of many Desktop streaming Apps I have come across over the years. This defiantly sticks out like a sore thumb; in the sense that it's simple brilliant. The streaming technology is lovely, the definition output is - at times - crisp and beautiful and the general ability to watch, play, do things over the Internet via Flash is perfect. But, like all things it has its flaws - many Remote Desktop Applications for the iPad seem to be a bit slow at times, although I have chosen not to send anonymous reports to Splashtop, I should, as it (at times, rather rarely) crashes or freezes. I also don't really like the idea that your Computer has to be on throughout the entirety of the day; if you want to use it at work/other you have to be sure your personal Desktop/Laptop is on! If it's possible, I would love to suggest a 'Turn On' setting or action that would - somehow :/ - allow you to turn on your Computer from your portable Tablet. ✓ Amazing.This app does exactly what I was hoping- I have a MacBook Pro in my bedroom hooked up to a monitor that I love but try not to move it around too much (have a 12.9 iPad that is generally more portable) but I love macOS and prefer using it whenever I can. This app allows me to use my iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard and have macOS accessible- and if you have the upgraded subscription you don’t even have to be on the same network. I’m able to remote into the MacBook from 2000 miles away with limited lag. Couldn’t recommend more. The connection is stable and you can leave the app (like I am currently typing this in the App Store on iPad) and hop back in when you are done without having to login or refresh. ✓ Some ipad bugs but overall great app!I have used this app on my iphone to my computer and have tried to draw in photshop using tap and drag in gesture mode and it drew fine but does not on the ipad. I used an ipad air 2 and had no luck with the gesture mode getting it to tap and drag to draw but i have been able to subsitute the trackpad mode. Everything else seems to be up to scratch. ✓ The fastest remote control appHave tried many other remote control apps and I can confidently say that this is the fastest remote control app. The dev team just added a function that supports nVidia GPUs to enhance the performance so if your graphics card is nVidia's you should def get this. Although this function does not work for me well and I had to disable it, the support team is superb. I always write emails to devs when I encounter problems and Splashtop support team replied within couple of hours to both my emails. This app is useful when you want to email a file thats inside your computer from outside. When you are in the same network, you can use your ipad to view flash, play videos etc. Seems that any program that uses Direct X 3D does not work which doesnt bother me at all as if i wanted to play 3D games I wouldnt use ipad as a proxy device anyways. ✓ Cheap but not nastyI bought Splashtop to compare iTeleport. My conclusion is that these apps compliment each other, rather than compete. Unlike Splashtop, iTeleport connects over 3G as well as WiFi, so you can remotely connect to your computer away from the home or office network. iTeleport also an infinitely better UI when it comes to controlling your computer at full resolution (which Splashtop doesn't do). Where Splashtop excels is in the simplicity of the app. Splashtop had no problem finding my computer on the network, and when it connected it automatically changes the computer resolution to optimize with the iPad. Mousing used the direct touch option (where you touch you click) - this feels strange after using iTeleport, but it is a good option for simple tasks. The wireless network I am testing on is not my own, is notoriously slow as it supports over 40 connections, and also has several firewalls and other security controls. None of these affected Splashtop which ran at an astounding speed, however, iTeleport could not establish a connection. ✓ Does the job.......but not perfect. Occasionally, I have need to connect to a work machine that I cannot NAT to for one reason or another and this has allowed me to connect every time without fail. That said, as a constant Remote Desktop user, I find a few things frustrating. For one, connecting can be slow when compared to connecting to the same machine using the same connection via RDP. Also, when in 3G I find slight blips in connection are annoying. There's no visual feedback that the connection is interrupted, so it's not always easy to tell what's happening - whether the remote machine is unresponsive or if its a connection issue. Also, should the connection drop, it would be nice if the application tried to reconnect the session for 30 seconds to allow for the 3G connection to come back and return you to the desktop without the need to log in to Windows again. I know you can turn off auto-locking of the machine on disconnect, but that doesn't work for me. A 30 second delay in locking Windows would resolve this annoyance and allow for recovery from signal drops. ✓ Great App!I just wanted something to use the iPad as a form of graphics tablet, and started exploring the 2nd screen options. Decided to grab this app and its brilliant, it works very smoothly with no noticeable lag or delay. And it's surprisingly easy to control the desktop from the iPad. Been using it all day and no crashes or anything, very simple and largely automatic to set up. Just instal the companion app on the computer and you're away. There was no port forwarding or anything to set up, it even scales the display then scales it back when you're done. It could be improved however, I did notice a few bugs with the mouse, occurs when switching apps on the mac, where I'd need to switch between the modes to fix it, not a huge issue. Also it could do with a form of automatic text detection. And it would be nice to have improved settings to disable certain shortcuts like the mouse mode, as its easy to accidentally activate it. The in app purchases are a little cheeky, the Remote Desktop isn't hard to set up but for £6.99 a year and have it hassle free, would be worth it. But the subscription for the extra buttons just makes no sense other than milking profits, and I don't agree with that, it should be either included or an optional purchase, not a subscription as you shouldn't need to offer any greater support for it past initial purchase. It does what is needed to allow access to my PC, with minimal latency and intuitive control. My only minor criticism is the slightly tedious way that multiple screen support is set up. I would much rather be able to swipe across from one screen to the next, much as you can do wit LogMeIn, rather than having to use multitouch then select the screen switcher from the control bar.
