ListPro for Negative User Reviews

Too complicatedIt wasn't worth using it for grocery list - too complicated to figure out all the details.Version: 0

Good program-synch needs workThis is an excellent database type product. I have used on PC for many years and it also works well on iPhone and iPad. My only wish is for better synchronizing. iPhone and iPad will not synch with each other, must go through PC. Synch is not cloud based but manual through wifi only. Too easy to have each device with some changes and not know which one to choose as "up to date". When they fix that I would give 5 stars. An update: I just lost a whole weeks changes when the flakey synch decided the old data on my PC was the "new" data and discarded my changes! I can no longer give this any recommendation until they get a better synch..Version: 5.1.6

Good App But..The App in it's self is great. Very customizable, stable and user friendly. You can make all kinds of neat lists with it. But very annoying the App is not universal nor is there a version for IPad. If they can make eWallet universal, why not this one?.Version: 5.1.5

Don't like ios versionI had ListPro on my old HP Ipaq. I really liked its flexibiliy. Got the ios verson for my Ipod Touch. Very limiting in how you can lay out columns. For example, I had one exercise list that I had set up with a series of 5 check boxes for each exercise (to indicate weight loads). All I had to do to change weight loads was check/uncheck boxes. However, with the ipadtouch version, you can't display all the boxes in listview. You only see them if you actually enter the item. The layout options for your list-view page are very limiting, and I'm not happy at all. The screen shots at Ilium's website (of Windows Mobile device) still show multiple column views, but the Ipod version seems to have abandoned that approach for a much more limited view. Not happy at all!.Version: 5.1.1

Good appNeeds landscape!.Version: 5.1.2

No iPad versionThis app is a fabulous app for generating lists of any kind on an iPhone or PC but the lack of a proper iPad version drops its rating considerably IMHO. When I contacted support they declined to say when, if at all, an iPad version would be released. Having said that, it's still usable on the iPad and the synch function works very well, as long as you've purchased the PC app, too..Version: 5.1.2

Needs some improvementsWonderful app but synchronization to a Mac computer is missing. I gave it 3 stars, with synk it would be 4 and a half stars. It's about time developers take in account the fact that more and more buyers use a Mac computer..Version: 5.1.3

More it doesn't do than does.Doesn't have the facility to copy/duplicate lists (annoying if you want a similar list to a previous one, e.g. a holiday packing list). It doesn't tally tasks/items. It doesn't allow you to set due reminders/alarms. For the price, surprisingly limited..Version: 5.1.2

List proWhy isn't this app free anymore?:( It would have been nice to try it out.Version: 5.1.2

TerribleI downloaded this app as a tool for moving house and could only create 2 items before it stopped recording categories and refuses to save notes entries. I paid over $5 for the app and I want my money back now. Most disappointing app I've downloaded to date.Version: 5.1.2

My list making program BUT....This is my favourite list making program. What does it for me is that you can make sub-folders - something most list programs won't do. It's desktop sister program is great and syncs easily. The only problem is that it's windows only. A deal killer for me since I've switched to a Mac and hardly ever use my windows PC anymore...Version: 5.1.3

Lost its LusterThis used to be the best List App on the market. Been using it close to 20 years. From Palm Pilot to Handspring Visor. From Windows Mobile Phone to iPhone. Including synchronization to my laptop. The app is no longer supported and not worthy of the $20 fee to have it on your computer & phone. Items get deleted after I enter them. Things I used to do 15 years ago like copy items from one list to another or duplicate a whole list can no longer be done on the iPhone. You have to sync and do it on a computer. It was great when I was traveling to be able to make new lists on the phone or device I was using. All that capability was lost when the developed it for the iPhone. No alarms anymore, no cut & paste, no list duplication, etc. on the iPhone. It’s where 90% of Business and entry is done now. Best you can do is look for something else. eWallet is decent but ListPro is no longer pro. It is aggravating. I tried contacting developer, Illium Software, numerous times, never an answer. Would have preferred they kept it up and charged a $1 to $2 annual subscription fee to maintain support. Am finding Apps on iPhone have better capabilities now. Especially since all the really powerful features are gone! Not good when your data disappears. Used to be even if a device or the program crashed, your last data was still there. Now I finish putting it in, close the App and poof! It’s gone! I have to take screen shots and then re-enter the data. If I forget, oh well, data is gone. LOOK FOR SOMETHING ELSE. Save yourself the aggravation..Version: 5.2.3

UselessThe software is powerful... maybe if you buy the (expensive) PC version. On the iphone, impossible to move, merge or copy lists, which is a real problem because lists created from the "portal" are 4 clicks away from "custom lists", which are not in the same folder as custom lists that were downloaded from the web site (by the way, these sample lists are obsolete, e.g. Hugo Awards stops in 2003). You don't choose where in the tree you store your own lists, you cannot get rid of the "Portal" page, you cannot transfer your portal lists to the same folder as your custom lists, you cannot use the downloaded custom lists to merge them in your own lists... The interface is atrocious as well: I should not have to navigate through a complex folder structure to access my shopping list when I am in a hurry... Powerful? Yes I guess, although there are missing features such as a "start date" (to hide items until a certain date) that make it useless for a task manager; I think (I have not yet figured this out) that one cannot use the html link field to go to a web site (nothing happens when I click on the link) etc. Useful? certainly not when the goal is to USE it (in a real situation) as opposed to play constructing cool complex list databases..Version: 5.1.3

Used it for years on CEThis has always one of my most useful program. I used to use it on windows CE for everything even budgets. but the iPhone version is very limited it won't total fields.... The windows desktop version is still great. It wouldn't hurt if they connected the files to Dropbox either with auto syncing... I still think they have the best list program. Just needs a bit if love to bump it up.Version: 5.1.3

No iPad version? For the life of me I don't know what they're thinking! They are completely surrendering the huge iPad market to Omni Outliner. I could be mistaken but I think there might be way more Windows than Mac users with iPads and iPhones. Amazing! I have been using Listpro for years on various devices (PCs, Pocket PC, etc). The combination of collapsible outlining with spreadsheet-like columns is a brain-supercharging, highly productive killer app anyways, and when I could sync my files across diverse devices... well... So what do I have to do? lock my outlines into Omni-Outliner's walled garden. The functionality is that compelling. Can you imagine if this developer stepped up and created an auto-syncable well layed out iPad version? That would basically push Omni Outliner back into the Apple world and unleash cross device (iPad, iPhone, PC) productivity - especially if outlines could export/import to/from Microsoft Word preserving structure and excel preserving columns..Version: 5.1.3

RubbishToo many options, after 5 mins of options still haven't made a list . Deleted the app life is too short!.Version: 0

Sadly not a patch on what it used to beIt needs a serious re-think for iPhone. List Master, although not as pretty, has more features and is more usable. And Illium just don't update this app nearly enough. No new features, no interest, no appeal, makes for a pretty boring app. Sad, because long ago, Illium made exciting apps for the PocketPC and were trend-setters..Version: 5.1.5

Almost thereI was so pleased to see the ListPro port to iPhone. Being a past Windows Mobile user I had expectations. This version does not display in columns, like on PC and WM. Why not? This app does not take advantage of landscape mode at all. Right now a spreadsheet is better (see Spreadsheet) for most of my uses. Current version looks like Ilium compromised operability for speed to market. For sheer usabilty, unfortunately this version is not as good as the WM version..Version: 0

Could be betterI have used ListPro (and eWallet) for almost 10 years on my Windows PC and Windows Mobile. I like them both very much. When I got my iPad, I looked for these products to become available on that platform and have been using eWallet for several months. I just installed ListPro which is an iPhone app that also runs on the iPad, but does not take advantage of the extra screen real estate available. Ilium has done a good job with eWallet in making an iPad-specific version that takes advantage of the larger screen. Why not do the same with ListPro? I can use ListPro on my iPad, but when using the 2X screen display, the display is not sharp. The iPhone/iPad version also lacks a lot of functionality of the Windows PC version. I am disappointed there is not an iPad-specific version of ListPro. Come on Ilium, give us a better version for iPad users..Version: 5.1.3

Has some problems... tech support is ignoring meI love the Windows version, but am still on the free trial. I love being able to sync to my iPod and have my lists on the run. I am not crazy about the iPod interface and it is impractical for me to make changes on it. Since I use the iPod for reference only and never to create or change lists, when I sync it should always copy from my desktop to my iPod. However, sometimes it goes the other way wiping out all of my changes. This is very frustrating and takes a long time to fix and of course I miss some items. I have contacted tech support and they suggested that I email myself the file and import that way and also to send them a log file when it happens. I have sent them log files 3 times (although the first one was incomplete) and they are now ignoring me. The log file says that everything synced successfully. The desktop version is not worth $20 if it doesn't sync easily. The app isn't worth $7 without the desktop version. They should pay me for my time if the sync keeps destroying my data. It would be nice to get some support, because I can't spend any more $$ as it works now..Version: 5.1.2

DisappointingAfter having tried several other list apps I couldn't find one that did everything I needed so I took the risk buying listpro thinking that the extortionate price and words like "ultimate" meant it was a all encompassing app. Tbh I think it's too complicated for it's own good. But the worse thing for me Is it doesn't even include totals on your lists . Especially a total for what you have ticked off . All the other 59p list apps I tried had this so I assumed it was a bog standard feature. I really wish you could get your money back on iTunes cus I wud with listpro..Version: 5.1.2

Contrary opinion here:I used to run this years ago on a PPC, and it was about the most important program I’ve owned. I missed it dreadfully when I moved to Mac and it wasn’t available. However, after recently discovering this iOS version, I’m shocked at the glowing reviews. The interface to enter items is sickeningly convoluted and overburdened with extra taps and maneuvers. If there’s a better way, and it interfaces like it did on the old PPC, I’m too dim to figure it out after hours of fiddling around with it. If I have to wrestle with an app, its poorly programmed. I give it one star, and as someone who longed for the moment I could run this program again- I’m pained to do so..Version: 5.2.1

Excellent, but ....I have been using it on desktop since it launched. Very good software concept. I would give it five starts if it supports iCloud. However, the teeth are long. Where is the Wi-Fi sync to iCloud or dropbox?.Version: 5.2.2

Useless without cloud syncThis is a great app because it beats any other list making alternatves, but having to sync via Wi-Fi makes it useless. These days everybody is mobile and we need up-to-date lists everywhere. Hopefully soon they will allow a dropbox sync like they did with ewalletGO..Version: 5.1.3

Back from the dead!An update after such a long time, for a neglected app, out of nowhere. If only you'd taken the iPhone seriously when it launched instead of your Windows centric focus, you had the market back then, you would've made lots of money, oh well, lol!.Version: 5.2

Not goodHard to figure out. Doesn't seem to work properly. Not user friendly at all. Very complex and disappointing! Total waste of money, won't even do a shopping list simply!.Version: 5.1.3

Fantastic app..but...It's the best and most flexible list making app. However, why on this technologically advanced earth have the developers not made iOS native software for syncing between apple devices?.Version: 5.1.6

Very limited iOS versionSo, 3 years after writing my original review, I found that ListPro finally got a very basic export function. While still short of a true sync, at least it allows the user some way of exchanging lists with desktop version when both devices can't be on the same wifi. Bumped it up a star. Still, some essential functionality is needed before it can become a major useful tool again: 1) Real Cloud based sync, the ability to automatically save to the cloud and open from there without invoking export / import. 2) iOS notifications. This could be easily added, but it appears that any development of this once great tool had ceased. ===== Used to be the first app I'd install on WinMob. The iOS version is a joke, and waste of money - the developer should be ashamed to charge this much for their abandonware. If you plan on buying this you must understand that the ONLY way to get your data out is by WiFi syncing to LisPro Desktop (another $20 by the way) and the receiving desktop MUST be on the same WiFi network. You can't transfer via iTunes. You can't export in any other format. You can't email. You can't do anything other than WiFi sync to Listpro desktop. If you travel, this program becomes, basically, a cemetery for your data. This is not how ListPro WinMob behaved, and I would never have paid a penny for this joke if I knew that even the most basic thing, iTunes sync via USB, is not supported..Version: 5.2.1

DisappointingA very disappointing app given the price, I wouldn't buy it if I were you. It's overly complicated and although presentation is neat, you are still extremely limited in the templates you can choose. To conclude- definitely not worth it at this price..Version: 5.1.2

UpdatesThey ask for suggestions but Never implement them 2015 they have had long enough??.Version: 5.2.3
