EWallet - Password Manager for Negative User Reviews

Sync Manager / View Sync LogBlank page after syncing iPhone..Version: 8.5.1

DisappointingThis was a good app when I first got it 5 years ago, but it’s sync system has been terrible. It says it syncs but when you check the data the sync is not complete. If you try to edit cards it often refuses to take the information into the system and reverts to the original. Very annoying glitches for an app which is supposed to be securing valuable data. Looking to change.Version: 8.3.7

Started causing confusionThis app was solid for many years. If a password had to be changed while visiting a site I would change the password on the site by having eWallet generate the password. I would then copy that new password from ewallet to the new password on the website. Login and my safari password cache would be updated. The problem began when somehow Safari now looks at eWallet for passwords and does not update the Safari cache for passwords so if you happen to use the app for the same financial institution for the website the app wants to look at the safari cache which still has the old password. it causes all kind of confusion..Version: 8.7.2

MrSuch a waste of money. Crashed on first use when tried to link pic to card. No smart use of keeping credit card info ie use iOS feature read credit card or even to simply click the pic and use it simple way. Horrible feature to link pic to credit card as u can even resize to show full pic. Not practically usable for storing digital version of driving lisence or photo id or even credit card :( I had to switch immediately to different app which is so easy to use and blue for money. Won't recommend at all unless you want use for just storing text only passwords.Version: 8.3.1

Don't buy this if you use different operating systemsEvery single app I own works across different operating systems. So I can use Facebook on my iPad, my Samsung phone and my Microsoft surface pro. This is the only app where the makers try to make more money out of me by refusing to allow it to work across operating systems without paying for it a second and third time. So I’m using LastPass now, it works across all my platforms, securely, and doesn’t want to stiff me for extra money for something I’ve already purchased..Version: 8.3.9

Becoming restrictiveUse to be able to open and login without eWallet locking out access to eWallet other accounts. EG: loggin to shopping site, then get credit card information to fill in on shopping site. If you go to browser then have to login again. If “Done” hit you lose session. Like flexibility of app for different type of cards and formats..Version: 8.12.1

Needs a timer lockThis app could either keep your valuable information safe, or leave it wide open for everyone to see. I often forget to close an application after I use it and eWallet is no exception. There have been several times when I have come to use my iPhone only to find that I have left eWallet open with all my financial and security information available for anyone to exploit. The problem (apart from absent mindedness) is that the application doesn't close itself down if you forget to, so if you have already entered your password, your information is exposed indefinately. Aside from the security issue, the application works well. All the templates are credit card style, which works well for storing cards but it seems somewhat amateurish for other types of information, thankfully there are ways to reduce that problem through customisation. eWallet is very customisable, although modifying some templates can produce aesthetically strange results. More expensive than it needs to be, but still worth it if you need it (and aren't absent minded). I'm satisifed with my purchase..Version: 0

Most usefulI’ve been using this for years. My wife has also used it as part of my family. Suddenly, they’ve told her it’s no longer shared with her and she’s locked out of her wallet. Apple shows her as owning it so she can’t even buy it. This is a huge problem..Version: 8.6.6

Very very bad appI just wasted my money.Version: 0

Waste of moneyWaste of money.. There's free apps that do exactly the same thing.Version: 0

Overall I really like it, but...Overall I really like this app. However from time to time, various url links do NOT work when going to them thru this app. The url works fine when I follow it from directly within a safari tab, but when I follow it thru here, I get an error that I need to update my safari browser. I was on the latest iOS version for my iPad when this was happening. Today, applied the latest update and the issue it still happening. I don’t see any way to contact the eWallet support people thru the app either. I wish they would fix this! I know it’s not an issue with the url location I am accessing because, again, I do NOT get this error when I type in the url address directly into a safari browser tab..Version: 8.3.7

No longer syncs with Mac version, still not fixedEWallet is a very nice password app, and I have been using it for a long time, but I noticed a while back that the iOS version stopped automatically syncing/updating with the data from my Mac. There have been a number of updates since this started happening and it is still not fixed. The sync log shows it is not syncing, and I can still go in and do a manual sync, but this is something I often forget to do, and should not have to do, and never had to do before. A few other minor long unfixed bugs as well, I like the option to rate the app from within the app not working ;).Version: 8.12.1

Not good for photosI have been looking for a password manager that can also store photos and videos. Unfortunately eWallet does a very poor job here: pictures must be cropped, and when viewing them you can’t see them full screen, zoom or even export them. Also, videos aren’t supported..Version: 8.5.2

No forget password feature????I’ve been a loyal customer since 2008 which is where I see on the app that my last password was changed. How many of us remember the password that we had just a few weeks ago never mind 15 years ago?!!!! Had an issue with Face ID and now I’ve completely lost use of my wallet because I can’t remember the password from 15 years ago. How about a forgot password button? Nope, non existent. Website says under no circumstances will it help you if you forget your password. All those years of storing info and I’m unable to use it. That’s crazy! All these great ratings…..just never forget that main password or it’s done! No support feature either. Disappointing..Version: 8.10

OK, but...It could be a great password keeper, but it is far too complicated with too many rigid templates, and a very poor help system (Ilium dumped the FAQs and help articles for all their products into one place, so good luck finding an answer to your question). It has a sample wallet with a variety of cards, unfortunately they are uneditable, so you are unable to see what fields that sample uses or how the sample was created. There is no blank template (that I have been able to find) and you are unable to delete unused fields from the existing templates. It is difficult to create a card, because with the large number of templates, you have to search each to find the one which best fits your needs. Unfortunately, the only way to do so is to create a card, select the template, and if it doesn’t have what you want, cancel and create another card. The default “card” view is very annoying. There is no way that I have found to permanently switch from “Card” view to “info” view It needs a way to add, rename, and delete every field. ...it needs a totally blank, fully customizable template..Version: 8.4.3

Great password manager; but don’t forget passwordI have been an eWallet user since 2008 and have stored over a hundred passwords and other bits of important information. Life was good. But during a recent visit to the Apple Store for diagnostics and having my iPhone erased and restored from an iCloud backup, eWallet stopped working with Face ID. I had become dependent on Apple’s facial recognition feature to unlock eWallet and I forget my password over the past few years. So despite the glowing eWallet reviews, whatsoever you do, “do not forget your password.” Otherwise you’ll be very unhappy. The software developer will not be able to help, according to a statement on their website. And there is no “I forgot my password” or “Reset my password” link in eWallet like many websites and apps have nowadays. I suggest writing your eWallet password on paper and putting it somewhere safe outside of the digital world. Don’t be like me; I’m devastated from losing 15 years of vital information..Version: 8.11

I really wanted to like this product but can’tI have been using iAccounts app for years but sadly it has been discontinued so I went looking for a replacement . I read glowing reports about this app but it just doesn’t live up to the hype .iAccounts blows this app away for simplicity and ease of use , the ability to change or add fields to data entries is so simple I cannot find a way to import more than the pre supplied icons for cards . Nor is it simple to re-arrange the displayed data . You cannot move entries up or down in order as you can with certain other apps there appears to be no way to delete unwanted fields from the expanded views I’m sorry but there are better apps for passwords than this and seriously the developers should look at iAccounts and incorporate some of the simplicity of that app in eWallet. The whole point of a password keeper is simplicity and intuitive ease of use . When trying to find out how to do a simple task requires research there is an inherent flaw with the design of the app I strongly urge the developers of this app to look at iAccounts for simplicity of use.Version: 8.5.1
