✓ Good for the priceThis is a RPG to pick up, Not quite enough hours but hey for the IPod Touch/Phone it's great. The looks great and handles almost like a desktop MMO. ✓ Better on the iPadI played this on my iPhone 4 before playing it on my iPad and the small screen of the iPhone doesn't give the game justice. On the iPad it looks amazing and the larger screen allows for less clutter in the interface. The voice acting is a bit haphazard. It's clear the developers asked for voices from the public as some sound like they've been sampled with the worst microphones in existence. Overall though, this is a fantastically expansive game and well worth buying for everyone's idevice. Addendum: the cloud saving between devices is ambitious but slightly buggy. More universal apps need to have the option to save between devices for those lucky few of us who have both an iPad and an iPhone..Version: 3.02
✓ Enjoyable rpg, a mix of WoW and MorrowindAn interesting free roaming single player rpg, rather like a mix of morrowind and wow. The control system is Much easier than many games ive seen on ipad, and the rest of the game is instinctive for those that have played any sort of rpg. While it has a few limitations like some of the interiors being repeats, I've found it has so far kept my interest well, and look forward to many more hours playing. You are nicely given the option to play in either first or third player view. The plot is your traditional bad guy takes over the kingdom, but there a large number of side quests, and so far ive enjoyed it a great deal. (Note - ive only played this for a few hours, but so far the depth has been very good.) In play, the quest structure and roaming aspect is very elder scrolls like. The levelling system is more like wow, where you pick a specific class. Combat is also wow like, with a toolbar of clickable combat feats. Graphically, this is very much like Morrowind. While not as gorgeous as some hd ipad apps, it is perfectly acceptable, and does not hesitate , which is definitely to be prefered over a higher graphics slow frame rate game. If you like elder scrolls, this should definitely appeal to you, although of course its not as deep, but still good given the limits of ipad apps. Wow players who dont mind the single player aspect should also enjoy it. Personally, on my list of top 2 or 3 ipad games..Version: 3.12
✓ BRILLIANT!!This truly is an incredible app. For just 70p, it's a HUGE amount of content and it's what: like only 305MB?? The lighting in it is absolutely fabulous, the amount of side-quests are almost limitless, the classes vary incredibly and each one has their own feel and style of play, I could just keep going on about how great it is and be here for days and wouldn't be done! The only bad thing I can find with it is that the trolls are quite limited in-game they don't have near as much hair, face and class options as humans and elves and this is a real shame, I mean what would be cooler than a troll Mage?! Penny for penny, this is by and far the best RPG I have ever had the pleasure of playing on ANY console, ever. This truly is a real treat for any RPG fan, so stop reading this review and buy it! ✓ :/ Maybe good Maybe badAlright I'm not a noob to Aralon I got this game a while back but I can't help noticing all these bugs... I don't know if they happen to everyone or just me but I will tell you them... 1) Sometimes when I buy armour it makes it rusty?! 2) When I ride into a gate by accident I get of then back on my horse then it kicks me off my horse and then I'm behind the gate falling into water that goes forever... 3) I made a new character and the background for the character select was numbers and heads and it wall all glitched up... 4) All up a lot of little bugs that don't really matter but are noticeable. Sorry for the long comment but if you'd bring out an update with major bug fixes this game would be even more amazing, by the way the graphics are great the lighting is great the combat is great and the story is hard to follow at times but still awesome, basically I would call this the most fun, addicting, hard (at times), puzzle, adventure and first person game! ✓ Nice to see it updated and working.For all those out there, who like an RPG, this is definitely worth a go. If you want to know what it's like, think of Morrowind, which is no bad thing. The game is dated graphically, but once you get past that, you'll find a gem of a game. There's bags to do, and lots of quests and side quests to get through. Additionally you are not limited when you can save, so if in doubt frequent saves are a good thing. The combat system is similar to that in Morrowind, which is to say haphazard at times, but nothing I can't live with. Only thing I will mention is that it is a bit of a battery hog, but then again, show a 3D title that isn't. Since its acquisition by Gameclub, they have fixed the bugs and are constantly sorting out new ones that have been brought about by updates in the iOS/iPadOS. Contacting support gets a quick turn around in both solutions to problems and fixing bugs, so all credit to them for that. To all those that have bought the game in the past, we need to be grateful that a new dev is both capable of fixing the problems and has kept their logo to a minimum. For those subscribing, this is a worthy addition to their stable of games..Version: 5.3.18
✓ Very addictiveI only took the plunge today but already I can see this is a pretty great game, previously I'd played Earth & Legend and felt graphics and combat poor, and generally not much to it. But this game seems massive, the graphics are very good especially as its on iOS. I have noticed a few issues, the context sensitive buttons are far to small, especially when attacking and defending but also for movement. A compass would help, and regarding combat there is a noticeable delay between pushing the button and firing an arrow or swinging the sword. I have only made it to level 6 so far, so I'm sure I've lots to discover, but I hope the enemies do get tougher and more varied, also I have chosen to be a ranger so, I hope I will get a choice of different bow's during the game as well. But overall this is by far the best RPG on the AppStore and I can't wait to see what's coming in future updates and further in the game. Only 4 stars at the moment due to the slightly annoying controls!!.Version: 3.31

✓ Great to see it updated!I’ve had Aralon on my ipad for years (I think since my first gen iPad). The other day I downloaded it again to see if it would work, expecting it to break like most classic games on iPad that haven’t been updated. It was amazing to see that all these years later it has been updated, and Gameclub have offered it for free to people who had the original game. Seriously, hats off to you guys. I haven’t got a gameclub subscription since I barely have time for games nowadays, but part of me is considering it based on the fact they did this. It’s a massive shame when old classic games on Iphone and ipad are left in the dust, especially since I find the original iPad games way more fun than new, microtransaction-filled games that seem to have no charm. ✓ Like having Oblivion in your pocket!When i started playing i noticed how similar this game is to the Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion. This would have to be the best rpg on the app store. The world is huge, combat is fun, and an inventory that doesn't feel clunky and annoying. I spend days walking around the stunning landscape and exploring some of the many caves in the game. ✓ Skyrim on the iPadA cross between elder scrolls, dragon age and world of Warcraft. I have put a few hours into this so far as a duel wielding elf rogue, loving it so far. Graphics are good but obviously don't expect Skyrim level detail. There is a bit of pop up but don't let that put you off. As you lvl up put points in hp, stamina, strength, agility etc. and at each lvl you get a talent point to use in your respective tree. As you can see this borrows a lot from the three games I mentioned, an open world to explore, plenty of side quests, upgrading weapons & armour, hiring companions to help, making potions and this is only the first few hours. Highly recommended, I've been playing it when the wife is watching telly and I can't get on Skyrim!.Version: 3.2

✓ Great Game - Few Suggestions!• No dismounts from horse when running into something - it's just plain annoying. • Possibly make it click to target instead of moving into the right position for it to auto-target. • No auto-targeting on Spirit Wolf (it's pointless and frustrating) as well as the ability to walk through it as it sometimes blocks my way even though it's a spirit. • An extra bar for the quick-tool bar at the bottom, it's silly how you can't allocate all of your skills to the bar at once. • Option to use Safety Ring/Mounts in inventory instead of having to link them to the bar THEN use them. • More skills for level up! :).Version: 3.31
✓ The Swordmasters 🎮This is the closest thing I can find to Elder Scrolls on an iOS. The lore and story is very well done and entertaining. Combat and gameplay feels like a single player MMO, mainly because of its ability bar down the bottom and that soundtrack is epic. But there are downsides to this game. The difficulty settings need major work, the game doesn't look good even though it is nicely detailed, the enemies don't feel technically different enough and I did feel multiple times that I felt like 'what do I do now?'.Version: 3.31

One being adding more hotbars so we can activate more things while playing. Two, please add local multiplayer so we can play with friends or family. Three, more equipment for all classes. ✓ Interesting.Quite the achomplishment to achieve on a portable device such as a mobile phone (or tablet if you use the oversized iPad instead of a laptop for better graphics). Clearly, the designers of this game are more interested in the depth of story and gameplay then they are mimicking the graphics of games similar to Infinity Blade. I prefer game companies to focus on gameplay first, then concentrate on graphics. There's no point having a beautifully drawn cover for a book only to open it and find blank pages. Fluently and cleverly designed. However, whilst my eyesight is fine for viewing the tab labels and writing for a screen as small as my iPhone, others may not. I suggest in a future update you include the ability to zoom in on the menu avaiable in the inventory section. A simple double-tab on the screen should be sufficient and it would be similar to zooming in on web pages in the Safari browser. This game is worth the money..Version: 3.11

✓ The best rpg game so far!I am now on my second run through the game. Excellent graphics, great character advancement and thank god for the bug fix and uthu's fortress! My only complaint is that it's not long enough! I can't wait to see what crescent moon come up with next, their previous game, ravensword, is also good, I recommend getting both. I think the in app store (where you buy karma) is a good idea, but needs developing, there's not much choice at the moment..... But then it is a new feature. ✓ Good, but slowSame crashing and other annoyances as everyone else - but it is quite addictive. Apart from no directional compass, and no overview map, it's the slowness that let's this down. ✓ BEST GAME ON IPOD!!!This game is by far the best game on the app store! I love how long and captivating storyline along with heaps of side quests. I love how you can ride different mounts and how the three races mingle in the stores or on the streets. Don't listen to all the people who say it doesn't work because there was an update for it but if you meet all the requirements you won't worry anyway. This game is a must have for people who like rpg games or games that you can play for hours without tiring. And by the way, there is slot of lag at windspray lake but I don't know if that is just me. ✓ Aralon is back!Once upon a time, Aralon: Sword and Shadow was the best RPG on the App Store. But years later a graphical update transformed it into a nigh-unplayable buggy mess, and those of us who loved the game feared the devs had abandoned it. And it seems we were right, but in Aralon’s darkest hour GameClub appeared out of nowhere and restored it to its former glory. I can’t wait to dive back into the world of Aralon and experience this wonderful RPG all over again. Better still, those of us who owned the game before can play it for free without the need to subscribe to GameClub. To everyone else: give it a go, you won’t regret it. If you’re a fan of The Elder Scrolls, this is as close as you’ll get on iOS - and this is coming from someone who loves Blades in spite of its flaws. One day I’ll rewrite my old glowing review of this game so you can get a better idea of what I love about it. ✓ Prepare to be blown awayWith apps all we really ask for is a simple yet addicting experience that will give us short bursts of fun. What Crescent Moon Games has given us is a amazing and deep adventure that will steal time away the same way Oblivion has for the consoles and pc. The scope and depth is simply stunning with a massive game world rendered within seconds all begging you to explore. The gameplay is a bit stock standard and the rpg leveling is nothing that we've seen before but the way it is weaved in the game makes it enjoyable and simple. Plot and story wise the game also is a bit 'meh' and it doesn't really compell you but it's there to give the game a narrative to exist in (unlike ravensword). There are mounts but in some situations they can be more of a burden as you are flung off your trusty steed at the slightest bump. There are many features in this game that I haven't mentioned and I intentionally do that to encourage you to purcahse this amazing app. This game might not cater to everyone out there as it starts a bit slowly but a few minutes to hours later you'll realise how amazing this app is..Version: 2.2
✓ Great classic RPG for iOS!PROS: Good gfx for ios Large world to explore Large selection of quests and items Enjoyable battle system and leveling CONS: Audio and speech Limit of ios gpu Fun and simple RPG for iPad. Decent leveling system that allows a good amount of leveling option for skills and character specialties. Crafting and equipment is also great. Graphics are pretty good. Even though the gpu power limits things like draw distance, aa, af, texture detail and lighting. It still comes out looking good enough to immerse the player in both the games lore and world. Plot line is standard for these style of games, but still has decent npc ai to engage in the story. It also has a lot of side quests for the player to discover. It's also worth mentioning that things like quest tracking, inventory management and nab are really solid for iOS. Here's a quick summary: Scores based on iOS platform only. Obviously by comparing games like The Witcher 2 would reduce all scores below dramatically, especially gfx. Gfx: 8.5/10 Audio: 6/10 Game play: 9/10 Story and world: 9/10 Longevity: 8/10 Controls: 9/10.Version: 3.31
✓ Just what I was looking forAmazing game, beautiful graphics and so far great content Some bug issues but only a few and I’ve noticed others experiencing the same troubles. Smugglers Cove the character spawns on the wrong side of the entranceway so you can’t explore the cove itself Also anytime I try to take a ride from the Harbor Master the game closes Until the bugs are fixed Ill just explore and level Hopefully soon I can complete my quests! Things to improve - *link to an interactive map on the main page. ✓ Great RPG - like a mini OblivionI stumbled across this on the AppStore when searching for an RPG after having played stuff like Dungeon Hunter 2 on the iPad2. This was surprisingly good and a bargain! Much better than the over-rated Infinity Blade. All the best bits of the RPG genre are here,character classes, races, gaining experience points, upgrading stats, enchanting your own weapons and armour and some great spells too, along with a good story line and plenty of side quests. Helga's ring is also a great item to keep as it let's you fly! You can also craft your own potions and other items and have horses your can ride and henchmen you can hire. ✓ A superb gameThis is a great game. Everything about this game is right on the money. Alot of it takes abit of getting use to as alot of rpg's require but its all good when you get a grip on things. The fact that their isnt a compass or directional markers makes things challenging ,and using your map and orientational skills is a good way of finding places and discovering the possibilities of the land. A sprint button would be quite good at times and the music can be annoying when every door that is entered the same track restarts so often you just hear the first five seconds over and over again. ✓ Excellent funWhat I like about this game is that you can play with several different characters, male or female which is refreshing for this kind of game. It's massive really and there are options to purchase in game but you would never need to. It's one of the few RPG games that I've replayed. The graphics are ok, bit old fashioned now although you very quickly stop noticing. You can ride horses or wolves, have as many quests or as little as you like to complete the whole game task which means it's sort of up to you how long it lasts. ✓ Good but keeps crashingI really like this game and eventhough it is slightly costly for an ipod game its worth it. The only problem i have with the game is when i go through a door somethime it crashs. It doesnt happen all the timw butit is annoying but the autosave keeps me from loosing my progress as it loads just before i go through the door. Another problem i have recently found is their is a clitch on the mountain pass located at the tp of the desert map,the one you have to pass through to find the demond. I cant get through the pass. Every time I try the game crashes and exits its self and when I go back onto the save I appear just next to the pass but without passing through it. The enemy AI is a bit lacking though, as they tend to just stand still until you get really close or attack them with a ranged weapon. Also, it's annoying that enemies respawn in exactly the same place as soon as you enter/exit a dungeon. And some more exciting items/treasure wouldn't go astray too. ✓ Seamless gameplay on an unlikely platform.Only recently having acquired an iPhone, I was rather reluctant to believe that gameplay such as this could be adequately reproduced on the handled medium. Apart from the decrease in screen size and inability to quickly use hotkeys, this game handles as if it were being played with a mouse and keyboard. It takes an hour or two to get used to, though after that the character control and environment interaction is truly seamless. On the iPhone 4, the graphics are beautiful and performance is perfect. After a few hours of play, the hands can get a little sore, though a five minute break helps that. I'm not going to review the game itself in any further details as on every account it is as enjoyable as the Morrowind. Need I say more? So my main piece of advice. ✓ Great game still by today's standardGot this years ago but today there are a few bugs that are new to me. Main quest is broken since after reaching the royal palace. And now the side quest where I have to do smugglers cove when I enter the cave I am behind the doorway and can't move except exit the location. ✓ Excellent butEverything was working fine for me just yesterday and now when I open the app up and hit continue or load it takes me to the loading screen, but the second the game loads it goes completly dim and freezes. I then exit the app and re open it it takes me to the loading screen where it then just closes the app. If you could fix this I would be most grateful. ✓ The best RPG for iPadThis is by far the best RPG I've seen on the iPad or iPhone. The graphics are very good compared to most others, there is lots of content and quests and it's fun to play. Tip: if you find movement difficult, go into options and change the camera to 3rd person fixed. This causes the character to move the way it is facing, which makes things much easier. Use one finger on the D-pad and use another finger to change camera angle and direction. Inverting the y axis helps as well. My only complaint is that there is no mini map..Version: 3.2

Definitely replayable and so many little caves and quests to find and do, but ever since a recent update going through doors can be quite risky as it may freeze on you. ✓ Great RPG of the Western PersuasionI am rating both this application and GameClub itself, as they must be intertwined. Firstly, the game is thoroughly enjoyable, a relic and iconoclast, as there are few offline, single player options of this quality. Immersive and extensive, yet it is (was) held back by the atrocious placement of the d-pad, which is fixed in an awkward position. One adapts, reluctantly. If you want a relatively open world, third person epic RPG of questing and adventure, this does suffice. Secondly, kudos to GameClub. The quality of abandoned games they are reviving is commendable, and the fact they offer free upgrades to people who have previously purchased the game is utterly altruistic. This sort of generosity is unprecedented, considering the not unsubstantial tweaks they do, improving gameplay substantially. Well worth the subscription price. Edit: the placement of the d-pad was adjusted, as the developer has clarified and was in the update notes, which is wonderful (hence my amended review. Perhaps I was affected by my enthusiasm to see it rereleased). Also, the new graphic textures are an extremely noticeable improvement..Version: 5.3.6

✓ Rich complex PC-style ARPG gameEven by 2014 standards this is a most excellent top-notch gaming product. This is the best (or perhaps the only) real ARPG game I've encountered on mobile platforms. The game's large 3D world, characters, clothing, conversation and music remind me of Elder Scroll series games on PC. Music and NPC greetings add a really fancy air to the game. The game runs completely smooth on my new iPad mini 2 and I haven't encountered any crashes or buges so far at level 36. Gameplay is very smooth as well, storyline is nice, movement and combat controls are easy to manage and auto-combat helps those who tend to struggle with touchscreen combat systems. Perhaps the only minor adjustment I wish for is to add auto travel function to destinations on the map, as I've gotten lost a few times trying to find a fortress or cave. Another world in your hand, great controls, real freedom, cool graphics with amazing detail, great sounds and music, and a gaming experience better than most high end pc RPGs. Gameplay is spot on, made my holidays something special. When rain set in outside, Avalon awaited. Wow! Next time let me drink, hit a casino, date a broad, and buy a house. Random missions ie. Bounty hunter, escort, delivery, support, guard, etc would help as I did not want the game to end. And it did! A sequel, please! This game will take you to far away lands... ✓ AralonGood game, decent storyline and variety of quests. Worth the £2.99 I paid for it but wouldn't pay full price. Not 5 star as it was much shorter than I expected. I completed it in under 24 hours including side quests, quests for all guilds except thieves and exploring locations not directed to in quests. Too easy on normal imo particularly given you can get one of the strongest swords in the game ridiculously early. Also there was a lack of variety in protective gear for the head and shoulders..Version: 3.02
✓ One of the better games for iPad Users.I have played this game many times and it worked flawlessly. For some reason. It is now hanging me up in the doorway of the smugglers’ cave. I can go through the white mist but I cannot continue on into the cave. Apple made some big changes to their programs when they released the latest version of their iPad line. For those considering buying the game - definitely invest in it now, with the latest update, crashing for me is virtually non existant. The storyline may be clichéd but the gameplay is fantastic and the graphics are simply superb. ✓ Great game, couple of problems...A lot like Oblivion, it's the game I've been waiting for - amazing that it's on a phone, more so that it plays so well on a phone! I'm not far in but plenty to do and see. Controls are fine and graphics are very smooth and more than pretty enough. Interface is well handled too so easy to swap between weapons etc. The devs have put plenty of detail in to make the land convincing too - rabbits and wildlife bound about, the night and day cycles are well done etc. Unfortunately, the music kills the atmosphere rather than adding to it - it's not that it's bad as such, just feels annoyingly out of place with what's going on. A HUGE part of what made Oblivion so special was how the music complimented the current pace and location - the tense atmospherics of sneaking around the caves, the peaceful night time music and battle music helped you feel involved and gave the player feedback. It's not the end of the world, just a shame it's the one thing that breaks the illusion. Even so, Aralon's well worth the current £2.99 and a fantastic achievement!.Version: 3.1
✓ Good gameI had this game for a long time, and I’ve enjoyed playing through it several time. The graphics are nice, the gameplay is engaging, and the storyline is decent. It is at a good difficulty level. However, it would be nice if the statistics were clearer, because it doesn’t tell you the differences between male and female, and the different races. Also, there are a few glitches, not all of which are detrimental. First of all, Helga’s ring can be used to glitch past almost anything. You can even get to Mount Doom way earlier than usual. Also, it is pretty easy to glitch out of the world using a variety of methods, and then you can get stuck in an infinite wasteland. Apart from these bugs, though, it’s a great game. ✓ AmazingI've just bought this game today and have already become addicted to it, the amount of stuff to do is simply mindblowing considering it's on such a tiny device. Amazing for 69p. However, the game does crash from time to time, but this is a small niggle when looking at the scope of the game itself. If you're looking to kill a few hours, then buy it. ✓ Truly the BEST game on the iPhone!I have given this game 5 stars on the grounds of the fact it's pure entertainment and if you loved Oblivion on the xbox, this is the game for you. I have now completed the game, it took some time if you do all of the side-quests too- for the money this costs, you can't go wrong! Let's face it though, it's an iPhone game, so there will always be flaws in what's already been mentioned below...that's what these updates are for and this forum offers the developer chance to improve- but don't let them put you off. Now, the graphics are second to none, storyline and side quests brill! Battle system as you would expect so very enjoyable! However, there's lag sometimes and the voices are questionable. ✓ Unbelievable depthThe graphics have since been outstripped by other games but they still hold up well. This is the biggest, most expansive rpg out there. At £2.99 you're basically paying less than a penny for every hour you play. Yes, it is THAT big. The gameplay is kind of like final fantasy X or the online final fantasy games play. ✓ Awesome!!!People whom made this game came a log way from ravensword, game looks amazing on iphone 4 (even have anti aliasing if you change detail settings to high, so far no problems with framerate). You can make own potions, harvest herbs, customise almost everything you would like and after 1h of gameplay i just paused game to write review on iTunes. Speaking of which, I coming back and don't care about sleepless night and going to work tomorrow with bags under eyes. :D Aralon is worth it !!.Version: 2.0

✓ Superb RPG for the platform its onAmazing game! So much depth and content on something as small as an iPhone. Has definitely set the standard for App RPG's. The future is bright for us RPG players :). I have an iPhone 4, latest OS and Aralon has never once crashed. Many many hours of gameplay. You can finish the game (main story quests) and still have a load left to discover. There is huge scope for the game to be expanded. It's not perfect and some of the controls and item targeting are fiddly or take a while to get used to, but overall definitely well worth the money..Version: 3.0
✓ Still problems...Game play is AWESOME with this game, however, i still find that the game crashes when i enter the southern fields from ANY door. I've figured a way to get past the crashes ( when game crashes, re enter, go to continue, walk aroung the room your in, and save your game. Once that is done, you should be able to go through). EXEPTIONS: When leaving the place your in with another person (in a quest), and i think if you save in the southern fields, and reload the game, you might not be able to get back in the game. ✓ Buggy but BIG!!!!!If you love RPG's then you need this. I have played this game 4 times over now using different races and character classes and am still finding new things. Yes, okay there are bugs still there with the graphics and controling can be awkward when the game stutters slightly especially when on a narrow ledge or walkway with a fall to death. And I am still having problems loading the Uthu's Fortress level on my iphone4, sometimes it will load sometimes it will crash. Look past these faults and you have a RPG of a size you would never have thought possible on a mobile device. Crescent Moon, PLEASE sort these bugs out..Version: 3.01
