✓ Why the Audio Ads???The audio advertisements are literally a “game-changer” for me!!! I’ve used this app for years and really love it! I use it almost every day. BUT ... just picture me turning my game on (not knowing the ads have been added) and the “blaring” advertisement not only makes me jump, but it wakes my husband up and starts the dog barking!!! I’m looking for a new app, but if you ever make it possible to turn the sound off on these ads, I’ll come back. Please add this one feature. ✓ Best ofThis is the best sudoku app in the App Store! The rest have intrusive ads popping up at all time, huge paywalls and non-intuitive UIs (User Interfaces). The ads on this app are fairly non-intrusive - only a brief one in order to start a puzzle. There is a great hint system to help teach the logic behind solutions, which comes in very helpful with particularly challenging puzzles. And it looks nice. There’s always room for improvement, of course, but this is generally a great app! The one thing that is driving me CRAZY though is that there doesn’t seem to be any sort of logical criteria for the Gold or Silver checkmarks obtained from Daily Puzzles!! Last night I finished a Medium level in my fastest time ever, 4:03 (which is well under half of par!), and got a Silver Checkmark!! Right now I finished another Medium level in 21:40, WITH an accidentally pressed mistake, and got a Gold Checkmark!! Whaa…?? I don’t understand. 😕 What’s the reasoning?! I just…don’t get it. It’s baffling me. 🤷🏼♂️ Edit: Thank you for the Developer Response, explaining the checkmark system on the Daily Puzzles. It makes sense now that the Gold is only awarded the day of the puzzle. ✓ An expert got better!! Best sudoku ap!I love sudoku and I downloaded about 5 different ones and not one compares to this one! I deleted the rest once I found this one. This one actually explains step by step how to figure out your numbers when you need a slight nudge or when you're totally at a loss! It's the easiest to read as far as layout goes and the levels are true to how challenging they are. As an avid sudoku player, this is the only one I recommend. ✓ Puzzle completion status changesI’m noticing that after I successfully complete a daily puzzle and receive a gold check then go back into the app on another day the gold check has disappeared that indicates successful completion on the puzzle’s date has disappeared. That puzzle date’s color changes to “blue” and appears unplayed. When that date’s puzzle is selected is then shows with a blue check as if it weren’t completed successfully on the puzzle date, and the completion check appears in blue. This happens to be several times a month & is inaccurate. How can this be corrected?.Version: 3.0.7

✓ Look no further for your Sudoku fix.This is the ideal app for those that like a no gimmicks game of Sudoku. There are five levels of difficulty ranging from “ Breezy”to “Expert” There are options which include “ Auto check errors” which is handy as it avoids continuing the game along the wrong line/s and only discovering your error at the end when you have wasted your valuable time. There is an options for “ Themes” which again provides the user with five different options for the background ( backdrop ) two options for Grid style , similarly for Font size and Font colour. This is all important as the user is looking at the screen for long periods of time; well maybe if you’re good not so long. A good feature is that the size of the keys do ( with practice ) help those of the fat thumb/ finger brigade ( of which I’m a member ) avoid the error penalty that is incurred when the wrong digit is pressed. I have been using this App for a couple of years now and have found that it is entirely stable. The adverts are not an issue as they only appear for 20-30 seconds before a new game is commenced and reappear following a pause in the game. I’m so happy with this App that I have paid £3.99 to get rid of them anyway as I intend to continue using the App indefinitely, plus the Developers get their reward for a job well done..Version: 2.3.34

✓ Good fun for a time.I was playing all the levels, at least once a day. Today I got to middle level, and somehow ended up with a blacked out screen. Unable to clear, so I had to delete the app and reload. I was about to finish round 50. Update: when I finished a game and went to the next level, another game shows up to try. In my case, a video slot machine shows up and an arrow is pointing to the start button. There is no “x” to exit out. When I touch the black border, it just shows a blacked out screen with no way to exit. I am then forced to delete the app, and then reload it. I enjoy the game, but not this side effect. ✓ I used to love this gameThis was the best version of the game that I had found. I have been playing this version for several years with no issues. But suddenly, in the last few days, they have been loading way too many crappy ads for slot games which literally freeze up my iPad! However, the app is facing a current bug when the ad for Games of War comes up. It freezes on a black screen, and I have to shut down the app and restart it until the ad goes away. I am finding that it is easy to select the wrong number (not the one you intended to select) at times which results in getting marked down for a mistake. This is true with the floating keys as well as the number pad on the bottom. My second complaint is that the hints on the expert level are very difficult to make sense of. Rather than giving an answer it would be better to give a hint as to how to solve the next step, ie not simply insert a solution without an explanation. ✓ Well loved, but a recent update…I love this app so much, it’s been on my iPod Touch all the way up to my current phone. I always enjoyed that it was a simple game that had minimal ads, a pretty interface, and didn’t take up much processing or battery power. Unfortunately, I updated it yesterday and something between my last update and now is causing me problems. The interface is less intuitive, and within a minute of having it open my phone gets very hot. I don’t understand why it would take up so much processing power when it’s just Sudoku, especially when the last version I had didn’t seem to stress my phone’s system at all. I’ve seen that there is a way to go back to classic, but I can’t find the option anywhere on the app. Until at least the processing issue is fixed, I don’t think I’ll be playing much at all..Version: 3.0.7

✓ Highly recommendedI downloaded this app on recommendation from a friend. Wary of annoying apps which purport to be 'free' and aren't - I thought I'd give it a try. I'm very impressed indeed. Of course, as expected there is advertising built in, however the adverts are mainly for other games and are easy to close after a couple of seconds and they always appear at the start or end of games or if you pause play. On my phone version of this app there is advertising at the bottom of the page but it's in no way intrusive. This app worked well in a glitch free way, doesn't crash / lose your game mid play / do anything else annoying or unexpected. To this end I'd say it's very well designed and managed. There are options to change various aspects of play e.g. background colour. There are various levels of difficulty. I started off on the very basic 'breezy' level while I attempted to learn how to play. I've progressed through the various levels and had lots of fun in the process. In addition to extra options, there is a stats page and a very clear explanation of the scoring system used. The app also records your best and average scores. ✓ Nearly perfectThe app is nearly perfect. The only two things I would adjust: the menu button (a white arrow) is too close to the app close button and is too hard to press. The other would be a feature that it needs. Please please please add a color palate with at least the colors red blue black and green so you can change the color of the numbers. I think up to 9 colors would be great. (Combinations of 0, 127, 255 in RGB) There are a lot of x wings that would be easier to spot if I could color the numbers. ✓ Great version of great game!I really like playing sudoku in this app. You can control what is automatic vs manual. I like to play "manually," so I really like that. Once I've turned off the "flag incorrect answers" option, I love that I can hit a check button and it will confirm if my answers are right so far. So I know I'm not going down a wrong path, but I get to choose when and if I want that help. The best feature to me is the hint. Instead of just filling in an answer for you like in other apps, the hint is actually a hint -- "look carefully at this row", for example-- so you get better at doing the puzzle by learning what to look for. You can hit "notes" for example and see all possible choices for each square. Or you can spot moves without notes. Whether you use notes or not, you can hit "hint" which gives a clue to the next move without specifying exactly. ✓ Learned sudoku with this appThis is a fantastic application. I was never much of a sudoku doer but this application taught me how to do sudokus and learn many tricks. It’s great for recording possibilities and does alerts you if you put in a wrong possibility or entry. You get awarded points for completing the sudoku and you get points subtracted if you put in a wrong entry. I like that aspect of trying to improve your times. However if you wish to just relishing completing the Sudoku ignore the clock. I have gotten many hours of enjoyment from this app. I highly recommend it but warn you that you may become addicted..Version: 2.3.13

One of the best parts of this app is the floating keys feature, which enables you to both note and select numbers without having to let go of the screen. This feature alone makes this app way better than the competition—being very snappy and having non-intrusive ads are some other key perks here. ✓ Awesome Sudoku appIt took me a long time to try my hand at this game. Once I finally understood it, I tried several apps and found this one is the best! It’s a very clear screen and very user friendly! I’m addicted!!! The only downside is that I can’t access the “SCORE” section on my iPhone. ✓ Incredibly bummed :(Although I highly recommend this developer and have and very much enjoy several of their games I have now run across another minor thing that bums me out. I like to play the daily challenges. And during the month you can pick any day you want from the first of the month till the current day. I was happily working on March and now we are in April and I can’t go back and finish March :( :( I didn’t realize I had a time limit to finish the month. *sigh* I would love to go back to the very first day this game became available and try to do ALL the daily challenges up until today. I can easily do a few a day. Please keep this in mind for us OCDers :) — update. I want to give this game 5 stars. The above still holds true. I want access to past daily puzzles! I also see on the calendar how many gold circles I got. But not silver per month. I really want to keep doing old puzzles. However I do feel like medium is really not a challenge. ✓ Best sudoku app I’ve ever seen, with a tiny quibbleI love the features here, like the number paint tool and the auto fill so I can get right into the meat of the puzzle, and I love how the hints are educational about the puzzle theory, instead of just telling me what goes in that square. I appreciate that the ad plays before the puzzle instead of part way through breaking my concentration, or after the puzzle and downing the happiness of solving it. I also like that the majority of the ads either have no sound, or are muted by default. I love this app so much!! The only issue I have is what I think is just a bug, where on my iphone 6, I can’t access the leaderboard, but I can see it just fine on my ipad. When I click the scores button, it just flashes the animation, but doesn’t actually take me to the screen. ✓ Would be 5 stars with a few improvements...I have tried quite a few sudoku apps recently, and this is the one I like the best. There are a few things that could be done to really perfect the experience for me: - Allow me to just buy the app and remove all of the annoying ads. - There needs to be a way to color the fields different shades to assist with solving puzzles when looking at number chains. - I want to view the puzzle without anything (cells) highlighted. - The contrast between the highlighted cells and the numbers is not very good, making the numbers hard to see. - If a cell has a number in it, it would be nice to have the cell “lock” so that you cannot put a pencil mark in the cell without first deleting the number. (Sometimes, I inadvertently hit a cell that has a number in it, overwriting the cell with a lone pencil mark.) - I like the hints, but it would be nice if the hints could also provide definitions for the terms for the various identified patterns. - The gradations between the difficulty levels could use some help... I can solve all the hard puzzles and the expert are all unsolvable for me without help. Feels like there should be a difficulty level in between those two. I had a sudoko app that I really liked, but it does not scale on my new iPad. Wish I could keep using that one. This particular app is a close second, though. ✓ Great App, No ComplaintsThis is the first sudoku app I have tried but I don’t have any desire to try others for comparison because this one has everything I need. There are 5 difficulty levels which is great because it allows your to progress to harder levels subtly instead of making big jumps to games that are much harder. You can take notes in the squares easily. The hint option provides small, piecemeal hints that give you a chance to figure out what to do once you know where to look instead of just telling you what to do. The hints sometimes also give explanation of strategy that teaches you how to figure out how to approach a situation in future games. I like this app a lot!.Version: 2.3.32

The problem with the game on the phone is that one easily will touch the wrong number as they are very close, so you’ll get it “wrong”. This does not prevent me from playing. The only thing I regret is that Branium’s Sudoku “Expert” is not challenging logic, it requires one to ultimately guess. My one complaint is that I was having some crashing problems and decided to reinstall the app to see if that would clear up the problem. Now I am having to watch ads between each game.
