✓ Outdoor PhotographerWhat a shame. I religously buy this magazine. I wanted to embrace new technology so tried this iPad version, but it is just a straight copy of the paper magazine. A missed opportunity. When will publishers realise that a computer screen is most often viewed in landscape orientation and design pages for viewing in that format. Some magazines have used the opportunity to provide an immersive reading experience, embracing the possibilities of the technology, but not here. Sorry for the kicking. What I would say is that the content is always interesting and inspirational for anyone shooting landscape or nature images. I shall be gong back to the paper version. Update. Really irritated by the magazine sending me to Facebook to log in while reading. I can't seem to find a way of stopping this happening. ✓ App crashesI love this magazine - I've been buying the printed version for a couple of years. When I bought an iPad a couple of months ago, this was one of the first iPad magazines I subscribed to. The first download went smoothly. But now I have just purchased a second issue, which I can't open. The app crashes every time I try to open it. ✓ Frustrating!!If you were going to create a magazine to sell, what would be the first thing you'd work on and test to destruction? I know, for me, it would be the subscription engine. These guys have created great content and placed it behind a buggy, counter-intuitive interface that simply does not work! Imagine, you get an email to say your subscription has been renewed; an alert to say that a new issue is available and then, when you open the App, a screen asking you to buy the issue. So, you try everything - from updating your subscription, to logging in to their separate 'restore' service and then, after numerous crashes, error messages and restarts taking 20 minutes if your life, you give up!! ✓ Do not buy this ApplicationAs the title says do not buy this application, I have deleted and reloaded it four times on an iPhone and an iPad and it won't work. Firstly it wouldn't let me register the app , everytime I tried to it timed out blaming my Internet connection. I tried two different Wi-fi connections and two different 3G mobile connections. I ended up having to register at Pocket mags website. Once I'd done this and tried to login via the app the app just crashed everytime. I even deleted the app 4 times and tried logging in on both my iPhone and iPad still it crashed. I love reading the magazine and was glad to see an app for it, this has just been turned into annoyance by an appalling app. I feel like I've been swindled out off £1.99, I have to wonder how this got past the apple approval process. ✓ OkThe quality of the images is good, I like the fact that there has been an attempt to make it interactive but, turning the page is to slow, far to slow. The curled page effect when turning the page looks tacky and is probably the main reason there is lag when flicking through the pages. Keep it simple, with instructional vids etc but most of all, the text must snap into focus quicker.... 3 secs seems like an eternity when you are used to turning the page of a magazine. ✓ Fatally flawedAs a fan of the printed magazine, I was delighted to see it available on newsstand... Unfortunately the app makes it unusable. The gimmicky page turn animation is incredibly annoying, and presumably is one of the reasons the app is painfully slow to load and turn the pages. The text isn't high enough resolution to read on an iPhone 4, and it constantly requests me to register, then says I have no Internet connection after filling out the form, despite all the evidence saying otherwise! The iPad version crashes upon loading, and the app seems to disappear from the iPhone whenever he iPad is synced, prompting another download.
