Broken. Unusual now.Today's update on iPad has made the app totally useless. Can't see anything being poured in to containers, can't move anything, remove anything. Basically app has been broken. Can't use the app anymore. Very very poor update. Please fix..Version: 3.5.0

Is it back!?Is this great game back? Or is this just a revamp of a 4 year old app?.Version: 5.2

Most reactions don’t workTried mixing KNO3 and H2SO4 to make HNO3 and it didn’t do anything. So I tried mixing it, heating it, cooling it, and nothing worked. This same thing happens with most reactions I try. Also, the PH paper has yet to function. This app is a really great concept honestly. If all the reactions worked then I would definitely recommend it to my AP Chem 2 buddies. For something that costs over $4.99 it should work properly. I’ve seen other apps that work better for free. Please please fix this guys! This app is a really good idea to develop more!!.Version: 5.1.1

Please consider giving us new features to already paid customersPlease consider allowing customers to receive the new content for free for those who already paid full price of the original premium version of this wonderful app. Thanks!.Version: 5.0.1

Not badThe idea behind this app is fantastic and it is similar to the yenka chemistry program that I use with my science classes. Unfortunately the range of reactions is far too limited. For instance copper sulfate + lead nitrate = copper nitrate + lead sulfate but in this app nothing happens. Therefore its biggest strength as a method of investigation and experimentation is lost. Not much added with the latest update. Unfortunately most of the chemicals don,t do anything. They just sit in a beaker, totally unreactive, since there are too few recognised reactions for them to do anything. This app has great potential. It is currently unrealised..Version: 3.5.0

PH LevelsThe pH levels are incorrect ex: HCl.Version: 5.2

Great, but urgently needs improving.I really enjoy this app, but the where the hell is the ethanol?! One of the most basic organic solvents is missing entirely from this app. Also, some reactions just do not work right, especially those involving catalysts. Great first attempt, but get a chemist on board to tell what needs improving!.Version: 3.0.2

I love it but...The problem is how glitchy it is. The temperature and weight is messed up and fluctuates so much it’s basically impossible to see the stats making it impractical to use. When heating sometimes I just get more of the chemical like from thin air, without even adding anything to it. Other times it just disappears when I try pouring..Version: 5.1

Not SatisfiedThere are some chemical reactions that should work, but do not work on this app. This app has plenty bugs and needs an update and a better improvement overall. I really do enjoy using this app, but I’m not satisfied with the incomplete or lack of true results that should take place when dealing with certain chemical reactions. Manganese (II) Sulfate does not pour into any container..Version: 5.1.1

Unusual and a waste of money so farThe app was great before the latest updates, the app started to break after the third latest update and now after the latest version I can't even move a test tube,I'm really annoyed and if this is not fixed I would at least like to now why. From Jacob.Version: 3.5.0

This app has been destroyed!!!I use to love this app, I would have given it a 5 star rating any day of the week. Unfortunately I can no longer give this app a 5 star rating and I'm revoking 4 of those stars. Why you might ask? Because the app is completely unusable! I'll be more specific, just so the developers will know what needs to be fixed in this once great app. Well I'll start off with the fact that when you drag any piece of equipment to the lab, the equipment menu stays open and you have to click off the menu just to close it. Second, when you try to pour any chemical (lets say h2o, as an example) into any piece of equipment (lets say a beaker) instead of pouring the liquid (or any solid/gas) the bottle shows nothing being poured into the beaker (not only does the animation fail, but also the beaker literally has no contents according to the content labelling (eg. moles/weight/temp/molarity) there is nothing in the beaker after attempting to pour any chemical). Also not only does the chemical container not pour anything, but it also freezes in the middle of pouring something and the container will just stay there, frozen on the screen and there's nothing you can do to get the chemical container to disappear. Not only do the chemicals not pour and the chemical containers freeze in the middle of attempting to pour a chemical into all equiptment, but you also can't even interact with the any of the equipment menu's. For instance, you can't use tubing because when you click on "tube" the tube appears but when you try to drag it, it doesn't move at all! When you try to click the "remove" or "clear" button, they don't work or even disappear to show that you even pressed it. It's as though the screen doesn't recognize 90% of your actions... Another thing is that you can't use any of the tools such as the pH strips, thermometer, match, ect...at all! I'm incredibly disappointed by this programs incredible amount of bugs, it's as though these bugs were put in on purpose! Why do I say this? Because I've never seen so many bugs be programmed in on a single version update, nor have I seen a program be rendered so inoperable and completely disabled as I've seen this program become! They should apply to the 'Guinness book of world records' or 'Ripley's believe or not', because I've never seen such a wonderful program become such a piece of crap in so little time!!! Honestly, at this point I'm pretty much ready to ask for my money back, because I payed money foe this app and it's one of the few apps that I was willing to pay for, but I'm very disapointed with how the developers managed to destroy such a wonderful program that I loved to use, into the mess that it is right now!!! Please fix this monstrosity ASAP!!!.Version: 3.2.2

Cool app, bad scienceIt's a fun app to play around with, and the concept is great which is what led me to buy it. However, it is severely lacking - there needs to be more glassware (condensers, adapters, addition funnels, burettes) so that other syntheses techniques can be done. Gases should be liberated from solutions when heated, I tried making pure hydrochloric acid from NaCl and H2SO4, but the HCl stays in the first flask (anyway, since when does 6H2SO4 + NaCl -> NaHSO4 + HCl?). One more issue, the numbers for many reactions appear to be incorrect - I mixed Mg with HNO3 expecting the usual reaction (Mg + 4HNO3 -> Mg(NO3)2 + 2NO2 + 2H2O), but instead got an equation which took 4 moles of Mg for every mole of Mg(NO3)2. The organic compounds are pretty much useless, there needs to be the ability to create more complex compounds from what you have - you can't even make a ketone because the only propanol isomer you have access to is the primary one, let alone condensation or substitution reactions. Also, NaOH doesn't even hydrolyse haloalkanes to alcohols! All in all, I would've paid £5 at most for this app under normal circumstances (I let excitement get the better of me), and that's with the organic molecules included. I hope new reactions are added soon and this app is improved, or else I will have to get a refund..Version: 5.0.1

Looks slick but doesn’t actually do anythingInstead of only giving you the chemicals they built in reactions for, they just added everything with no functionality.Version: 5.1.1

OkIt’s a decent game but you can’t make gunpowder or even really make steam It’s fun to mess around in but if you’re looking for something realistic i would buy a professional computer program.Version: 5.1.1

I would like to get a refundProbably the worst apps ever made for learnings. Control are rough unable to do anything with it. I would never recommend..Version: 1.1.0

Hard to press buttonsOn a mobile device like a ipod or iphone it is almost (and I still havent been able to do it yet...) is press the buttons for solids gasses and liquids... and this is why we have different apps for ipad (because they have a bigger screen) where this code used to make the app would work perfectly on an ipad on other devices such as ipods and iphones our screens are not that sensitive to know exactly what we are trying to press (and even if it was our fingers are still bigger than the buttons we want to press)if this does not get fixed then I will want my money back as I cannot do anything with it.Version: 5.1

Basically does not workSo reading ph of nitric acid etc all reads 7, so that’s broken. Attempting to light methanol seems to not burn. Nothing I did really did much of anything expect maybe smash a few beakers, but no details, help or what happened. This is a great idea, but it’s not actually useful. I’ll go for a refund if I could work out how. Avoid, it’s not even worth it if free, but at $15 it’s about the worst of the 400 apps I have. Button line it’s a bad app, but it could have been great and one of the best. It’s not! I’ve done chemistry at High School and University, so it’s not like I have no idea!.Version: 5.1.1

I WANT MY £6.99 BACK NOW!!,!,!Bad don't by it.Version: 4.0.1

Poor interfaceThis app has the potential to be really great but the interface really needs to be upgraded. I deleted it after 2 minutes..Version: 5.1.1

Additional purchase for organics?Really? I have to pay extra for the organics?.Version: 5.0.1

Not that bad, hope that they update it soonPersonally I think this app has potential, but the only problem, I don’t know is it is just my copy of the app, but there are barely any reactions outside of metal and acids and even then they just go on forever, it is currently too unrealistic for my needs and as such I dont really use it.Version: 5.1.1

UnrealisticThe comcept is nice and it is fun- but you cannot learn from it as it is wrong. Most of the reactions are very unrealisitic and not what happens in real life. For example, potassium and water in real life bursts into a lilac flame and explodes at the end. In the game, there is just a white shiny light. Not worth the money..Version: 5.1.1

TobiasA great idea, but I'm unclear if the developer is trying to get us to understand and appreciate chemistry or hit a checklist that he/she has created. Is this a game or is there actually real 'synthesis' behind all the chemistry occurring? If so, what actually classes as synthesis. For example, I've tried making hydrogen gas through simple displacement reactions involving acids and metals, but oxygen keeps appearing. I'm also unclear about how to use apparatus, as I've tried putting a funnel over a conical flask but for some reason the funnel is being 'poured' into the flask. Very confusing and lacks intuition. Not bad for a first attempt, but needs to be more thought through..Version: 2.2.0

It's nice but...There should be a tutorial for beginners. Make a tutorial and I'll be redownloading it..Version: 5.0.1

Great app but not worth the moneyDevice: 11 inch iPad Pro I bought the app a few hours ago and have had a play around with all of it’s features. I’m impressed with the idea of the app and how they have made it a reality however I’m not impressed with the amount of detail and available features. Pros: - myriad of tools - myriad of elements - other tools to collect data Cons: - lack of equipment There is no water trough or gas syringe and this stops you from being able to collect gasses in a proper way. You only have indicator paper, litmus solution is available but so far I haven’t been able to use it as an indicator, there is no filter paper to adsorb it to make litmus paper. Titrations aren’t possible, there is no burette and no pipet. - you cannot save the products of your reactions in bottles. - the match and cooling tool are annoying, you have to select and hold it down for a while to change temperature by a significant amount and in this time you cannot check the temperature, you have to stop and use the thermometer but in this time your reactants begin to revert to room temp. Being able to place such tools (like the Bunsen burner) would allow continuous cooling, maybe a cooler should be implemented. - We cannot control the conditions of the lab, the lab is room temperature - The app isn’t optimised for new devices, my iPad model has been released for more than 3 months. - More than 1 thermometer that can constantly be left in the solutions to give data. - Labels, it is unclear what is what if you’re not keeping notes somewhere else and it’s hard to tell when gas is present. I would appreciate labels that auto update or a log which tells you what you have done. For an app that cost £8.99 I expect the above issues to be resolved ASAP, the app is worth £1.99 as a maximum The app is still great and I hope with future updates they can make it amazing because I’d hate for this to be the best it will get, especially if it is supposed to be used in education. I would also like to see the following features given the price: - A notebook/ log: if I wanted to carry out a required practical I’d want to know how long it was heated for example without having to get a timer myself (keep in mind this app is £9). If I could check a log that automatically recorded this that I could check I could plot graphs with the data. We’d also be able to log our own information like the concentration of our reactants. - Reactants in different states (liquid nitrogen) it takes a while to cool yourself. - Unknown solutions that we can test to figure out what they are, they wouldn’t be ambiguous but you’d have a section where you know what type of test to do to figure it out (e.g. halides, group 2 elements) - Electrolysis equipment - Being able to share your solutions and set a task along side so that students can test them at home as homework. - More indicators - More organised library; solids, liquids and gasses is good but if it were organised into acids, salts, unreactive gasses etcetera it would be nicer - The solutions that would be needed for the above features Yes this was in depth but you don’t get if you don’t ask. This app is £9 I’m not asking for a lot at that price. The app is great really but it only goes so far as a serious educational app. I’m an A-level chemistry student in the UK, it’ll be a good tool but only to a small extent. On a scale of 0-10, 0 being a Toca Boca app and 10 being a tool that would allow you to carry out required practicals for GCSE and A-level, I’d say its a 6. 2 stars because it isn’t worth the price..Version: 5.1.1

Frustratingly incompletePlatinum has no listed reactions, so it's inert in he app. HCl and HNO3 test 7 with ph tester. Want to make Aqua Regia and dissolve Platinum to make Platinum black catalyst, can't do it. Honestly beaker worked better..Version: 5.1.1

Needs an update! For the price of the game I expect it robbed updated frequently. The game didn't have much content but as time went by I thought they would add more reactions etc. instead they just added more chemicals that you have to pay for!.Version: 5.0.1

DisappointedIt's a really unfortunate scenario when you pay for the premium version of an app only for the developers to say, "we appreciate your purchase, but will require you to pay even more if you want (insert choice item)" when I paid for the pro version of this app it was to unlock ALL compounds/elements/reagents. That's what was advertised. I thoroughly enjoy this app, but I'm discouraged that I'm being asked to pay even more. No thanks..Version: 5.0.1

There is a bugThere is a huge bug on the app which doesn't allow the chemicals to go into the beakers or other containers, please fix asap..Version: 3.0.1

Please reconsiderWe have paid 9.99 for this app, I bought the organics and when I change my IPhone I downloaded this app but it doesn't appear the organics... I have to pay again? Please fix this because I bought them all.Version: 5.0.1

I'd like a refund. What's the point in featuring organic molecules when there's no organic reactions?! Wanna make an alkene? Nope! Wanna nitrate a benzene ring? Nope! Hell wanna make a haloalkane to use as a base for a number of other organic reactions? Haha, yeah- no have fun using that boring tetrachloromethane! This is more of a first school play thing than an actual chemistry companion app..Version: 5.0.1

Stopped working with latest OS updateIPadOS 13.5.1 this update ruined the app No controls on screen bottom. No notebook, no unit controls, nothing other than lab reset. I paid for this app, please fix or refund.Version: 5.1.1

Great game but,Add more chemicals and reactions!!! Pls also fix the tubing I’m on a iPhone 12 Pro and every time I place tubing down it looks like it tears or breaks..Version: 5.2

Ok...The app itself is fine, but 2 major problems with this is that you can’t go below -100c, and the iPad support is terrible. fix these two and I’ll give it 5 stars..Version: 5.1.1

Disappointed at bestNone of the reactions work right. they either don’t happen or react randomly with something i didn’t add. this is a horrible app. do not buy it. i thought an app that costs 9 dollars would actually be functional, but i guess my low bar expectations were still too high. to reiterate: DO NOT BUY THIS APP. ITS A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY..Version: 5.1.1

Pretty goodThis is pretty much exacty the app i was looking for. Has a large amount of solids, liquids, and gasses and you can create mixtures etc. Version 2.5 has three bugs that ive found: 1) transferring 100ml of water from one beaker to another creates around .2ml of extra water. 2) Some reactions cause the app to grind to nearly a halt. (heating thermite) 3) Saving liquids as favorites 'changes' them. When I mixed magnesium with hydrogen cloride, i stored the mixture. the water in the resultant liquid was absent after saving it. ------ Would be nice if i could ignite rocket toffee, maybe i'm doing it wrong..Version: 2.5.0

RefundI bought the lab bundle. I was wondering if I could get a refund. The game is not what I expected at all....Version: 5.1

Yep needs updatingApp lacks some really basic fundamentals of chemistry, great idea though..Version: 2.5.0

Would be a fantastic app......If I wasn't missing a great deal of the reagents shown in the videos! I am extremely limited in what I can do and it's such a shame because if it was all working properly it would be great! (and not a waste of money).Version: 3.5.0

IpadproNo adaptation.Version: 5.1.1

Has potential, but lacks accuracyThis could be fantastic, but a huge number of reactions are absent. This is disappointing when trying to emulate experiments that should work, but don't..Version: 4.0.1

The UI doesn’t fit iPadThe UI is for iPhone, some buttons is out of reaching in the 4:3 display.Version: 5.1.1

Everything explodes randomlyI'll get explosions even when transferring H2O or unreactive solutions from one beaker to another. Makes the app practically unusable at the moment..Version: 4.0.1

Black Screen FixedThanks guys for the quick update. There is no longer a black screen hang when starting. However, I still believe it is quite an issue to ask for an in app purchase for a $14 app..Version: 5.0.1

NoUser manual on web, launches Safari. Bye.Version: 5.1.1

Not badNot a bad app, but personally I would like the option to select from chemical formula to chemicals real names..Version: 2.5.0

Good, but needs more equipmentI like the app, but I can't add any substance of less than 10 grams, which is silly because in real life I'd be using values like 0.50 g of Mg (for example). Also, I'd like to be able to control the mol/L of the mixtures. I don't necessarily always want the standard molar of a solution. Lastly, the equipment is good, but I'd like to see some more things like maybe a calorimeter, or larger flasks, etc. a good app, but needs more!.Version: 3.0.1

Nice idea badly implementedFrom floating point errors to rounding errors The game is full bug and crashes a lot But the the biggest disappointment is that it a game and not a chemistry companion app for up A-level chemistry..Version: 5.1

BugsGame has a lot of bugs and freezes when your in the middle of something. some reactions that should happen don’t. pretty basic on the lab gear. wish i wouldn’t have bought it.Version: 5.2

Paid app still have inapp purchase?Unreasonable.Version: 5.0

Nice conceptThe equipment tray is nice drag and drop but some fo the chemicals do not and labels are not always clear. Reactions did not work in some cases. Needs more development. But really good idea - keep watching this as. It will make a good teaching tool..Version: 1.0.0

Interface not intuitive. Abandoned developmentIt does not scale accurately on the Ipad Pro. UX is counterintuitive. Lack of sustained improvements. Developer unresponsive. Looks like abandoned development..Version: 5.1.1

Fix the BugWhen I open it, a huge icon makes me scared.😡.Version: 4.0.1

Has PotentialWas playing around with the chemistry set and noticed that i couldnt freeze water as easily as i hope. if there could be an update where i can fluctuate the temperature of the environment more easily then we can really start cooking. Best of luck..Version: 5.1.1

Needs to be updated.Looks like the app is probably abandoned and worked on other apps. This need to continue the development of the app. And I also heard that you mentioned in the website there is somefeature named: “Cloudlab” doesn’t do anything since the update where the UI has changed, no new chemicals and reactions are added once the update where the UI has changed... If you are going to buy this app. It’s not active. No updates... it’s really upsetting me. Let’s hope the app is going to be active again....Version: 5.1.1

No reactionI spent several hours trying to get this app to work, without success. No reaction between calcium and nitric acid?.Version: 3.3

Need Developers ResponseWhat’s amazing about Apples new feature in Write a Review is the ability for the developer to respond to a reviewers post directly. This is one of those times. We need a tutorial BAD! Thank you and I look forward to your response..Version: 5.1

Great app when fixedThis app is great and worth the money. But there is a few problems sometimes when adding elements it does not work. The ignite tool often does not work either. Thank you will upgrade to five*s when fixed.Version: 2.0.0

Doesn’t fit the iPad Pro 11 or iPhone XSApp doesn’t scale to proper display size..Version: 5.1.1

Nicely made but too much wrong chemistryThis app has a nice UI and is a great concept. However, one problem is that too much of the chemistry is just plain wrong. Until that's sorted I cannot recommend this app to my students..Version: 5.0.1

A chemist’s perspectiveI’m an R&D chemist by trade, so I was excited to finally see what looked like a real chemistry app on the App Store! Unfortunately, most reactions that should work don’t. The pH reading function is completely broken (pure sulfuric acid doesn’t have a pH of 7), none of the organic reactions worked for me, and the in app purchases just added insult to injury. Don’t buy this app if you’re looking for anything even remotely scientific..Version: 5.0.1

Eh...I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong, but it’s kind of an eh game. You can’t really mix anything as it just settles as layers, so if you’re trying to do something cool like making gunpowder it won’t really work. I couldn’t even purify salt water, it was going through the tube but nothing really appeared, it just ended up with the containers always breaking. It’s fun to mess with sometimes but I kind of don’t want it. Then again I could just be using it wrong..Version: 5.1.1

RubbishAbsolute rubbish... Waste of £2.99.Version: 2.3.2

Good concept but lacking in practiceDecent app but very limited with the chemicals and equipment so I find myself never being able to do what I want to with it.Version: 5.2

Fun but lacking basic compoundsBig fan of chemistry so tried this app, found it very basic. Wanna try silver mirror reaction but no AgNO3, and realize only nitrogen is available. Also cannot simulate pressure..Version: 2.4.0
