SPACE by THIX for Negative User Reviews

Nice idea, but...I'm an astronomy teacher and quite frankly I'm not sure my students would be able to figure out what to do with this (I can't). The objects themselves appear very small on the screen and the simulation doesn't really do anything particularly interesting (even though I get it's follow the laws of physics, it's just not very fun). There's no clear challenge or objective. It's a sandbox, but one that doesn't really engage the creator to want to keep creating. It's a good start, but there's not much feedback or incentive to the creator to make things interesting for more than about 5 minutes. Sorry...look forward to updates!.Version: 2.0.1

Good game but...It's a good game but you have to redo the tutorial every time you enter the game and if you don't follow the tutorial then the game doesn't work..Version: 1.2

PffffftCan't see the point of it to be honest, you begin with your own star and you can create your own solar system, once you've done that, you just look at it. Description says the website has experiments to try but I visited the website and there were no experiments to try. It also says you can create collisions etc, but no instructions to show how you do it, I lost interest after 5 minutes..Version: 1.1

Buggy But a Lot of PotentialI paid $7.99 NZD for this app, and it is very fun to play with but there are a few bugs I have encountered that ruin the gameplay. When two red dwarves collide they supposedly are to turn into a white dwarfs, but instead they sometimes become pulsars, with the name of a white dwarf. Also I'm experiencing the tutorial loop that is said to be fixed in the change log, and I am running the latest version of SPACE. Sometimes the app goes through huge lag spikes, even though I am using an iPad Pro, which has the fastest processor available. Please can you add in the ability to make some stars merge rather than supernova, like what naturally happens? If you could do this and fix the bugs, the app would be SOOOOOO much better..Version: 1.2

AwfulExtremely buggy, always have to force close the app in order for it to work again. Want my money back..Version: 1.2

Things to addThsi game is so good but there is two things missing I’ve been searching for a game similar to universe sandbox this is the closest one and it’s hard making things collide so I would recommend a button on the side of your screen taht when you click on it you can amke any planet collide with each other the next thing is I wanna be able to spawn galaxy’s to collide with each other and see what happens. One month later and I’m not happy I’ve been waiting for updates and I’m getting kinda bored of it and kinda what my money back if there isn’t any updates soon it’s being ranked 3 stars.Version: 3.1.1

GoodBut too minimalistic. I need some guidance or objective to work towards. I would also like to actually SEE the celestial bodies; right now they're just tiny specs (I get it-they're small in real life when you're zoomed out that far). Great concept but poor execution. It's fun for a little bit but just overall confusing. For $3 I was expecting a bit more..Version: 2.0.1

Make it betterIt’s a very good idea. The system is okay, place a planet a certain distance away from another object and it will orbit. It’s pretty cool. It’s hard to place planets though. I also wish there were more objects to place. Also please add a way to toggle motion controls, sometimes I don’t want it to turn every time I move.. It’s pretty good overall but could be better..Version: 2.1

Would like more settingsI would like to be shown all the controls and would like more settings not 100% worth the money..Version: 2.1

The device overheats after a few minutesThe game is great and that it's fun building your own solar system, however after a few minutes the device starts to overheat. Not worth damaging your phone for a few minutes of gameplay.Version: 2.0.1

Nice idea but...,Seems like a good idea. What I can see of it looks fun. However I really can't see the space I create. Try to zoom in and it runs in too far and the same pulling away. Very dark the lines of orbits are difficult to see. I'm afraid I wasted $3..Version: 2.0.1

Product review.Game has cool Sound and all but there’s no option to modify planets. Not worth the money as the project is dead..Version: 2.1

Poor gameThere aren't any instructions, no point to the game. I wish it was better quality, and easier to play!.Version: 2.0.1

Could've been a good app, however...This app just doesn't live up to any kind of expectation after reading the description. The developers could have made it like the description, in which case this app would have been worth every cent, but instead they totally undershot any kinds of effort towards making this anything worth purchasing (I don't think I'd have it on my phone even if it was a free app). The display is super lousy, as your planets in orbit are merely speckles on you're screen unless you zoom in to one planet. The control are hideous... it's near impossible to click the tiny specks (planets and stars) on your screen and move them however you wish to. And lastly, there's very, VERY, few things you can put into your space galaxy, and the learning experience is minimal to almost non-existent, as all you really get to see (once you defeat the impossible and manage to zoom into a specific orbit of planets you've made) is the radius of the planet and the temperature. This app is a weak attempt to scamming trusting people (like myself) of $3. I feel like such a sucker who got robbed by this developer..Version: 2.0.1

Very simple additionsFirst of all, this is my new favorite app. But there is so much untapped potential! I’d love to see an option to show values for orbital and rotational velocity (or at least speed); axial tilt; length of day and year (and month if applicable). I think we’d all love the ability to set the volume and mass of our celestial objects, as well as that to change (or at least set) their rotational and orbital velocities (by swiping 😊)..Version: 2.1

Not greatSeems like an interesting concept but actually pretty dull after about 5 mins... wish I could get my £3 back!.Version: 2.1

Basically useless. You think it could be really good at first, but then after 4 mins you realise it ain’t gonna get any better. Waste of money..Version: 2.1

Poor tutorialRunning iphone x and have found the app difficult to navigate as no tutorial.Version: 2.1

No ideaI thought it would be informative but it does nothing. Don't waste your money.Version: 2.0.1

Bad updateSimulator is really bad since the update … Don’t even want to play anymore.Version: 3.0

Multiple Worlds?I got this app because I just really love the idea of space and being able to create this kind of universe. The recent changes with this app were all stellar and I love them, although it would be nice to choose between the new and old layouts. My biggest concern is the fact that I can’t play around with any ideas if I already have one I like. I decided I wanted to make a universe for a space traveler story I want to write, but unless I want to lose that whole world, I can’t just mess around and cause the collapse of a universe. So it’d be real cool if that was possible. More information on the planets and the life forms, and a way to add life forms to habitable planets would be very neat! This app has an excellent base, but I’d love to see more done with it..Version: 3.0

Pretty lameAlways on Instagramish filter, poorly designed black holes (with the distorting particle visible), one speed for time, limited space to play in (rest of the galaxy is view-only). I regret buying it :(..Version: 2.0.1

Seems BuggedIPad Air 1. Concept seems interesting bug doesn't work for me. Deleting an item sent me to interstellar view. After returning to my space I couldn't perform any actions. The 'click to delete' popover remained the entire time. In general I can't seem to press any buttons (e.g. Add) after doing one or two actions. Have to restart the game and can add again for a short period.I also lose the ability to focus on other objects..Version: 1.1

EhI liked it to begin with but as it got updates things got buggier. Yes they fixed some stuff but this needs major quality of life updates. For example, prior to an update you were able to tap and drag objects and move them to where you please. I don’t know if it’s a bug or intentionally removed but you absolutely cannot move any objects anymore once you place them even though I was able to before. The description of the game currently lies or my game is bugged. Viewing objects is weird because you can zoom in and out as well as move the camera with your finger but the camera also moves with you phone and I just wish there was a lock function on that. I would save your $3 for elsewhere..Version: 3.0

Interesting game with alot of potentialIt's a great concept and alot of fun but it can get boring after like an hour of game play. Not exactly worth the 6 bucks I paid for. What you can do to prolong the player's interest is to incorporate alien life forms onto terrestrial planets or give the player the option to design each individual planet or star. I know that the main purpose of this game is probably science-related but aliens would be so cool and awesome. It's also extremely laggy after spawning multiple stars and objects and a bit hard to navigate so bug fixes and a map will be appreciated. Eagerly awaiting for the next update ;).Version: 1.1

Good, but the glitches...I absolutely loved this app until I got up to seven objects in my miniature cosmos. It was glitching and spun me around my universe and was jerking around so I couldn’t do anything. Anyways, everything else is great. I would recommend having a key for each object that you have to be recorded in and tells you where it is in your universe. Please fix this glitch.Version: 2.1

Needs workWhile undeniably beautiful, the user-interface is incredibly difficult to manage and leaves a great deal to be desired. There’s no way to “orient” yourself on any baseline, and if you zoom out “too far” (which happens incredibly easily) you lose all context. Your celestial bodies are nothing more than ultra-tiny blips on a screen. If it were any worse it’d basically just be a non-interactive blueish screen with some occasional uncontrolled objects on it. This whole app feels unfinished. I’d like to be better able to see (and alter) the orbits of these bodies, as well as having a better view and experience as to how and when they interact. Example: I’d like to be able to build a star, float a planet around it (at a set distance) and float moons around the planet. I’d like to see more clearly how these objects behave and react to one another, and then I’d like to be able to change the equation by adding (X)celestial body to the equation. Right now this “game” becomes intolerable monotonous inside three minutes..Version: 2.0.2

Good, but far to goAs a free game, this game would be astounding. But as a paid game it’s a bit on the ‘I Regret This A Bit But Still like The Game’ side. If it could have some extra detail and a final polish, it could be great. There are several suggestions I have for SPACE: Sentient Life which explores the universe More planet types And finally, being able to see the process of new stars being made -A faithful SPACE player.Version: 2.1

AwfulJust awful. Save your money..Version: 3.0

RubbishSorry this simply doesn't work, frustrating counterintuitive and utterly disappointing. Can I have my money back?.Version: 1.2

Not very goodIt's okay but not worth £4. I'd say it's worth around £1 or less because it's not easy to use, I don't know what's going on most of the time and I don't know what I'm supposed to do in the app..Version: 2.0.1

Nice conceptNot worth the money, could do more. Would suggest several improvements, such as a fast forward button..Version: 2.0.1

Delivers as promised, but isn’t goodThe game does everything it says it does. However, it has a few major issues. On an iPhoneX it is difficult to play without accidentally swiping to the home screen. This problem is shred with the beaker game as well, in more intensity. This game also is very limited and hard to navigate. Their are only a few features and none that are that fun to use. I wasted 2.99 on this game and I won’t be playing it further most likely. Can’t refund it unfortunately, wish I could..Version: 2.1

UnusableThe intent is severely hampered by the execution. The app simply will not work. Since recent update, menu of objects is gone, swiping to delete does nothing. It's a very broken app with so much potential.......be warned do not buy..Version: 1.1

Objects are way too small and...• Objects are so tiny that you can even see the things you create. • Would be way better with an option to change the view/scale to reduce the distances between objects. Meaning, not have the true to life, massive scale of a solar system where you can only see a little tiny bit at a time. But have the objects appear a lot closer together without gravity running a muck. Solar Walk has this option. • Moving around in a 3 dimensional environment with 2 dimensional touch gestures is problematic. Aka hard to control. • Would like the ability to speed up or slow down time. Again, Solar Walk has this option. • The black holes have a graphic problem. There is a 2D square around them for some reason. • Add a pause button so I can stage collisions and such. All of these suggestions are gold! Take them under advisement. Lol..Version: 2.0.1

Barely worksLags like crazy, stuck in tutorial, can only place one thing each time the app opens.Version: 1.2

Still Stuck in Tutorial LoopEven after installing the update that supposedly fixed it, I am still stuck in the tutorial loop where it tells me to tap to delete....over and over. Very frustrating after having bought this app for my son..Version: 1.2

Wasted moneyWish I could get my money back. If your putting this on your iPhone you better get some glasses or possibly play it on your 60 inch tv but I doubt that would help either. This is hard to see and the only tool bar seems to just add things. The natural finger swipes don’t seem to work as expected. You have the option of drag and drop your item in space but who the heck knows where it’s going since the orbits are set without any input from you..Version: 2.1

Not worth paying forGives no instructions on how to play the game. Can't figure anything out. What a waste of money..Version: 2.0.1

AwfulDreadful, completely unusable app. No tutorial, no help, no options and no guidance as to what you are supposed to do or how to do it. No UI to speak of, and an in-app typeface that is unreadable on a small screen. I want my money back.Version: 2.0.1

DisappointedThis app seemed like it would be fun, engaging and creative. It is, for about 5 minutes and then the content drys up. There is so little to do and after around 10-20 minutes you have done everything possible. This app would be better as a free app, the current price is absolutely absurd compared to the lack of content. Don't get this app. For the price of the app you could buy a pencil and paper and you could sink endless hours into creating a universe on paper. You won't find that here.1/5.Version: 1.2

Great concept - poor executionBeing neither a rocket scientist or astrophysicist, I will assume the physics are correct in this model. It’s interesting to see how bodies interact and the music is ethereal and spacey, however it’s the visuals that fall well short. First the text, orbital lines are all light purple on a dark purple background making it all very difficult to see. They need stronger contrasting colors like bright yellow or white. Secondly, while proportionally having the planets as tiny micro dots may be accurate, it makes for a poor simulation. At the very least their relative size needs to be exaggerated to make the sim more visible..Version: 2.1

Good but....The game is quite interesting. But it's very slow on Iphone. When I zoom onto a planet or star, the game will slow down. Also, there seems to be no actual plot or manual on how to play. Maybe it's a sandbox but the rest should be fixed.Version: 2.0.1

GarbageIt was the coolest physics engine i had in a long time. But since the update, this space simulator is trash. Give me back my money..Version: 3.0

Can we get a help menu at leastMy only problem with the game is that it doesn’t tell you what to do or how to do it. So I’m confused at how to orbit a moon around a planet or something. A tutorial would be nice.Version: 3.0

OkI think this is a really cool little app that has good potential, but right now, not much is available. The controls are a bit funky. There should be more statistics shown than just the radius, temperature, and mass too. Also, I am unable to go into the galaxy and look at other’s creations. I’m just stuck in my little pocket of space. Update..Version: 2.0.2
