BEAKER by THIX for Negative User Reviews

Needs work (A lot)Many of your chemical equations in this app are highly misleading and are able to be deemed as incorrect due to how unrealistic they are. This includes the solvay process of the production of Na2CO3 wherein your equation stated that carbon dioxide and sodium hydroxide would react to form said chemical and water. This is very wrong and a lot of details need to be changed! Also you should make the molar concentrations accurate as 1 mol/L instead of infinity. Also after a chemical solution is made, it should stay as the produced solution and not return to the initially added chemicals!.Version: 2.3

It's got potential...This app is okay but there appears to be a lack of understanding for some of the reaction. I did specially enjoy the potassium and bromine reaction being completely inert. A good textbook like "inorganic chemistry, Housecroft and Sharpe 4th edition" could be helpful..Version: 1.1

Thought they where better than this.Who knew that an indie Dev for a educational simulator would make us pay more for things that should come with this... having Chemist locked under a "Gotta pay more!" Scenario, is what people who have no life do.(ahem, EA) DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON THIS. IT IS A WASTE..Version: 2.1

I paid money!I was one of the people who brought this app went it was paid, and now it has been made free there are lots of in-app purchases. I am very annoyed at the fact that I get none of these, seeing as I paid money for something others got for free..Version: 2.1

Great! Except for AirMix not working...Fantastic app, really! Very good at what it sets out to do. I wish it had the elephant toothpaste reaction :-P However, I was nerdishly excited to try out the AirMix feature to pour into my iPad Pro from my iPod Touch (both latest gen models) and was disappointed to discover that it’s not working. And with the other reviews this seems to be a wider-spread issue than just myself. I would like to purchase the features of the app, but seeing how there hasn’t been an update in eight months, I’m a little hesitant to spend money on something that the developer appears to have abandoned....Version: 2.3

Urgent need to fix bugs rendering app unusableBought app on iPhone 6 running latest OS; opened app; nothing works, with the exception of a flame created by touching the screen, and making the app logo appear by clicking on a circle. Not even the question mark "help" button works. Very poor work indeed..Version: 1.1

Please read mePlease PLEASE fix an issue on my iOS 12 iPod touch where the liquids just freak out and disappear when I turn the screen THEN I might spend a bit of money on it.Version: 2.3

Cool appBut it doesn't automatically connect with another device like advertised 😐 I tryed Samsung s4 with iPad mini 4 and then iPad mini 4 with iPhone 5.Version: 2.1

Ok but some bugsSometimes the solids will freeze in place and won’t be able to move and no new elements/molecules can be added..Version: 2.3

Dosen't work, big lost of time! I delete!Dosen't work, big lost of time! I delete!.Version: 2.0

Sad and dissentWhen I downloaded this app, I was expecting a high quality indie educational app, that was not all about money. I got 1/4 if my wish. While well made, most of the tools are hidden behind a paywall. It’s disappointing to see that there is no workaround for this, as it completely destroyed the experience and ruined my wishful thinking..Version: 2.2.1

Beautiful idea doesn't really workPity. Some reactions go, some don't. It's too often hard to get a reaction to 'work' even when you know what should happen. Just like real chemistry then....Version: 1.2

Not badGood app but have few bugs and need restore purchases.Version: 2.0.1

Needs improvementsNeeds a working limestone cycle and also the water is hella buggy and jumps all over that place.Version: 2.1

Cool app, butGreat app. They don’t connect devices. The only reason I give this 3 stars is because of how unnecessary the purchases are..Version: 2.2.1

AirMixAirMix doesn’t work at all. Ages ago it used to work, I tried it with a relative and It worked fine but now it didn’t even seem to connect..Version: 2.3

Don’t bother downloadingWhen I got on the app I couldn’t even going on it because it was just a blank screen with a white circle on it for ages..Version: 2.3

BooooApp was ok, not all the chems reacted properly, but they were close. Still not really right, but now it’s way harder to get the chems into the flask, and they still react funny. Please make adding reactants the way it was before..Version: 2.4

It won’t workWhen I open the app it just loads I trued downloading it again but it just took longer to download.Version: 2.3

So many can’t change state backNice but many states do not revert any once melted, eg cu(s) to cu(l) cannot go back to cu(s). Seems a very basic limitation..Version: 2.3

It’s not bad, for very basic reactions.I was thinking I could use this app for my Chem work, but it doesn’t support semi-advanced reactions such as potassium iodide + hydrogen peroxide, and even basic reactions involving frozen elements, like ice + salt. it would just be nice if the app was updated more regularly. there’s so much potential with this app, and i really want to see it grow more. maybe a suggestion box? (PS: if you need help with anything, which i’m sure you probably don’t, there’s nothing wrong with asking for help from others).Version: 2.1.1

Could you refund me?Now that you made all the tools free with one purchase could you refund me for the cost of like 4 of them?.Version: 2.3

Please fix airmixAirmix isn’t working, PLEASE fix it.Version: 2.3

Could be good.Ok. I am a huge science nerd, (case and point, I took first at the TEMSCA state science meet). So I find this fun. But it could be better. My main problem is the paywall. Other than basic functions, you must pay for everything. That is huge turn off, because more that half the tools are behind a paywall. Other than that, this is a good app. No ads, and generally fun to mess around with..Version: 2.3

Was good but I can't restore app purchasesI wish I could restore purchases.Version: 2.0.1

FAIL!Would be able to say something about this app, but it freezes to black every time!.Version: 2.0

Could be great but fails miserablyOn iPhone SE beaker is huge ingredients are tiny, it is very difficult to find out what is in the beaker. Many reactions do not work. I have dissolved gold in aqua regia and neutralized it with KOH. Gold disappeared, I only got KCl. Could not make copper chloride with HCl and water. After heating and evaporation I got copper oxide. Can’t erase previous reactions, I have to restart the app to start over. Very annoying app, needs a lot of work to be useful..Version: 2.2.1

I want Answers!I bought this Game it is super buggy and crashes more often than it should! I have tried to mix many of the same chemicals and it crashes everytime. I want my money back or a reply on why this app is so terrible..Version: 2.4

AirmixMy airmix doesnt work on my iphone.Version: 2.4

Great but the Airmix...Everything is great but 2 things, one me and my sister tried to use airmix and it didn’t work. Airmix wouldn’t automatically connect like the app description for it said it would. Another thing is that there are so many in app purchases that aren’t really fair because I want to use all the tools in the shelf but half of it needs to be bought. Other than that the liquid chemicals are on the deprived side, meaning that there’s not much. But the app itself is ok, otherwise I would have more complaints..Version: 2.2.1

Buggy interface & bad chemistryTL;DR: horribly amateurish, I don’t know why this was even featured on the App Store front page. The idea of an app like this is interesting (which is why I downloaded it), but * UI is buggy. ** Occasionally the circle on the top right corner disappears, & I won’t be able to add anything unless I empty out the beaker. ** The monitor thing is buggy. Enough said. * Bad physics. ** When lid is closed & beaker is turned upside down, liquid doesn’t come out (as expected), but somehow solids could slip through the cracks and leave the beaker. ** Solids sometimes change size for no reason. (To reproduce: add as much cesium as possible.) * Bad chemistry (despite correctly representing *some* reactions). This is the worst part that makes it impossible to enjoy the game. ** CsOH and sulfuric acid coexists in solution without forming CsSO4 and water. Ridiculous. General lack of acid-base reactions. ** Tried doing a thermite reaction, but all the aluminum burned out and nothing happened to the ferrite at all. (I’d expect a little of that to react even if they aren’t finely ground powder) ** Nothing happens to aluminum in concentrated KOH solution. ** Nothing is left when aluminum, magnesium etc burns. And so on. What is the point of this?.Version: 2.2.1

Okay but has some glitches and bugs.I enjoyed this app a lot but 1. airmix doesn’t seem to work. 2. Also, there is no in app purchases. You cannot get anything like blender or other paid tools. It’s a good app. Please download..Version: 2.3

Uhhh...You’ve made it very, VERY difficult. Why? I can’t even figure out what’s happening in the game! What I mean: I don’t know what they mean my something plus something equals something or CO2. And, I took the lid off to take the liquid out but then there was a sound of glass breaking and blood on the screen! I couldn’t even do anything to make a new mixture! And it was creepy because after, nothing happened and it was boring. So there! I’m DONE! I HATE IT, DELETE, HAVE A GOOD DAY, GOODBYE! 🤬.Version: 2.2.1

Can’t get air mix to workPlease fix this I can’t click the button to install it.Version: 2.4

Cool idea which isn't completeThe app is an amazing idea. I'm very excited about it, however it does not live up to any of the promises yet at least. It's an app that was released in alpha..Version: 2.0.1

Can’t get AirMix to workCan’t get AirMix to work between my iPhone an iPad..Version: 2.3

Buffers, BrothersBrothers and Sisters, I’m just trying to make a simple buffer with the weak acid HF and the sting base NaOH but I add the two together and nothing happens. Simple Acid/Base lets go.Version: 2.2.1

Good game. BUT CAN I GET MY MONEY BACK?!?!Seriously. I bought the Siddons a while back and now your telling me there free to others. So I paid just to be told later they would be free. Cmon thix.Version: 2.4

Airmix doesn’t workThis feature doesn’t work I tried alot.Version: 2.2.1

Sometimes not very realistic. You should be able to precipitate silver chloride from a silver nitrate solution by adding HCl, but the silver nitrate just vanishes without a trace? Where are my silver ions? Balance your equations!.Version: 2.4

BeakerHad some glitches when melting solids, shame there isnt a couple more chemicals such as liquid nitrogen, and airmix is broken...would like to see some more reactions.Version: 2.3

Isn’t working at the momentNo fluids or solids are appearing after tapping or holding them. This is an error in a newer update..Version: 2.4

Won’t loadI have been waiting for 10 minutes and I only see a tiny circle..Version: 2.3

Liquids? For some reason, any liquid I put in always acts like water. It reacts as if it were water and not the liquid it’s supposed to be.Version: 2.2.1

AirMix has been buggy for years.Used to love this app and still do mess around with it from time to time. The AirMix feature was great when I had an iPad 3 and iPhone 4s but I haven’t been able to make it work with a slew of new devices for absolutely years. Very, very disappointing.. They just never link up..Version: 2.3

?Will they continue to update and support this app. It’s not been updated for at least a year. If the developer would promise continued support and updates, I would willing to purchase the app at 2 or 3 dollars. What’s up, developers?.Version: 2.3

UselessA completely useless game. (But interesting).Version: 2.3

Cool, but Airmix doesn’t workTitle says it all...Version: 2.3

Where is AirMixI have tried repeatedly to automatically pair an iPhone 8 with an iPad Pro 12.9 2nd generation using AirMix but it did not work and there is no way to manually pair devices therefore your app is useless so fix it.Version: 2.3

It’s a good learning tool but…It is fairly basic and doesn’t have a lot of features. You can heat up the contents of a mixture but you can’t cool it down. Some chemical reactions are not present. (probably to avoid complications with the app) (… and I have tried once before to make manganese heptoxide… ) You can make different compounds than what are shown in the menus, but not knowing how much you have or how hot it is while in a liquid or gaseous state makes using them in an efficient manner difficult… There are also a few problems with the app such as: Small operations are good, but I would recommend that anyone refrain from using more than 20 of any solid material at once especially with the more explosive reactions that can occur as they can cause serious frame issues or in some cases cause the app to crash entirely. Do NOT try to mix solid NaOH with solid NHCl as having them touch at all will instantly cause the app to crash. Sometimes while the lid is over the beaker, materials from explosive chemical reactions can fly through the lid and out of the beaker. (though it is a rare occurrence) Honestly, I don’t recommend this app outside a classroom as it is lacking a lot of features for any sort of at-home application….Version: 2.4

Great game, minor bugsAwesome game, great simulations, but there are a few reactions missing. Also, when trying to combines sodium bicarbonate and sodium hydroxide, it is supposed to explode into a large chunk of water, but each time I try he game just crashes..Version: 2.3

Rip offThe app doesn't work and never bothers to explain how it works there's no way to add chemicals all you can seem to do is put a heater on put a cap on it light a match or tap a circle that makes the logo appear complete waste of money. Avoid it!.Version: 1.0

No longer worksNot working on iPad Air 2 now. U add liquid u get absolutely nothing added to the beaker at all..Version: 2.1

Pretty coolAlthough some reactions don’t look very realistic I wish there was more stuff to mess around with.Version: 2.3

Only liquids. No AirMixSo I was looking for the solids in the chemical list but they were ONLY liquids in the list, like acetic acid or hydrogen chloride. And there appears to only be 18 chemicals (6 being colors) in multiple varieties in amounts (I think) and also I sat for a full 2-5 minutes waiting for AirMix to connect but it never did. Oh yeah, it would also be cool if you could select single elements like potassium or hydrogen and radium to see how they react to each other. That’d be cool. Pretty good game/app..Version: 2.3

Don’t downloadKinda annoyed. It looked like such a good app but unfortunately it isn’t. The lid doesn’t work so I can’t even shake my chemicals. I can’t mix chemicals. I can’t even turn water into steam. The matches work underwater which makes no sense. The burner doesn’t work. The reactions are all wrong and it is very boring because none of the elements do what they are meant to do. They literally just sit and do nothing while I’m bombarded with equations that I don’t care about. and btw there’s only 138 chemicals instead of the 150 it promised..Version: 2.2.1

No Restore In-App PurchasesI have used the app for 2 months now, and deleted it for the iOS 10 Update. I was unable to restore my purchases I had made previously, and I am quite upset with the app for doing this..Version: 2.0.1

EAThis game is fun and a nice way for people to learn about chemical reactions or just play around, but there are so many in app purchases I thought this game was made by EA. The in app purchases are for basic thing that would really be needed to produce most chemical reactions. I would also appreciate some light the game has a very clean look but even with my phone on full brightness I’m squinting to see what’s in my beaker..Version: 2.2.1
