✓ HotMacApps ReviewBudget with Back in Black is a great new finance tracker for monitoring your monthly budget while on the go. You can take into account every little detail about your monthly income and spending habits. You can set fixed expenses, goals, reminders and even back up all your reporting. Back in Black makes it easy to see where you need to cut down and even has preset categories so you can quickly and easily enter in a purchased item right there and then before you forget. Back in Black has a very easy to use interface with loads of pre-created categories for spending, goals and expenses which make it that much easier and quicker to enter in data on the go. Also with the options to create more categories, you can really go into some detail with your monthly income and costs. However there is no way that Back in Black can actually be linked to your bank accounts, this means its only as accurate as the data you put in. Also unlike many other finance applications there is no passcode lock option that I could see. However the graphics and layout are great, its easy to see where you are in the “black or the red” at anytime. But is it really worth $2.99 when there are plenty of others out there for just a dollar? I have to say its ease of use tops any other finance apps that I have used before..Version: 1.0.2

✓ Just getting started with the appI'm really living it so far but don't know how I'll cope when it switches to next month as I'd want it to restart after I've been paid not on the calendar month. Also my fixed expenses change month by month and not too sure this will be fully supported. Te app looks great, I love the graph and even though I was totally dedicated to the Cha-Ching app I never set myself budgets for individual categories with that app. Here that's much easier and I started using that without even noticing. The only real downside, and it is a big one for me is the fact that you can't enter pence values just full pounds. I don't understand why this happens as the whole point is to track your spending and estimating it stops you from fully doing this. PLEASE ADD FULL VULE SUPPORT AND NOT ROUND THINGS UP TO FULL £.Version: 1.4.1

✓ Worth the money, Good AppGreat App, does at it says. Slightly more expensive than other Apps of the same genre but once I started using it I was happy to have paid this amount. It is easy to use with good features. I especially like the saving feature and the added picture to help motivate you is a nice touch. This was almost a 5 star App but would love the option in the savings feature to have a target amount that you can put money towards as and when you have the spare cash rather than set instalments each month, being self employed and each months earnings varying I would find this more useful. ✓ Best App for your FinancesI have been using this app for the last month and, before I found out about this app - my finances were like a big bowl of...wibbly...wobbly...stuff...yeah it got away from me. I like this app because of its features to portray what you will have but it needs a function where you can track your accounts and the money in them. ✓ Made budgeting doable for me.We've tried the cash in envelopes method, but I never carried the right ones with me and it was a pain! Back in Black made it so much simpler. I love being able to use my debit card or credit card and not have to carry a ton of cash. Setup was surprisingly simple and I was able to start using the app immediately. Outside of the map and email apps, I use Back in Black more than any other app on my phone..Version: 1.0

✓ First budget app that I LOVEI have tried a few different budgeting tools and most of them haven't worked that well or helped me that much. I was a little reluctant to spend the $4, but am so glad I did because this app does everything that I want. You have to manually enter purchases but I have found this to be much easier in the long run than having it tied to your account and it log purchases in the wrong categories. Most of my income is contract but to specific recurring bodies - so one off while taking care of differing amounts isn't strictly correct. I like that it keeps me on the straight and narrow. ✓ Reallu useful but 1 request!This is a great app, probably the most user friendly one I have found thus far, but I have 1 request, I get paid and therefore, finacially speaking, work on a fortnightly rotation, not monthly, is it possible to add those additional choices in in future updates? I am trying to think of it from a monthly perspective because I like the app however it isn't actually realistic for me and sort of creates a false/positive at times when for example it looks like I should still have available cash in a budget but then I have to remember "no that is next fortnights allowance", does that make sense?.Version: 1.1.5
✓ Actually a really good appI think Darrenblokes requests are a little bit of a special case; considering some simple maths would decide your annual income and as such monthly income which is ample data for an app to assist with in spending habits. The app itself is very well thought out and sells itself on the speed and ease of data input. Also the ability to save backups is a nice touch. ✓ ExcellentI think this app is great, a really simple & easy way to keep track of spending. Like other people have mentioned, the main downside is not being able to run it from a bespoke pay date ( I get paid on 25th of each month) but it is still possible to use it effectively, you just need to remember to carry on using the previous months budget until your pay day. ✓ Every penny helps...This is a really useful app but I find it irritating that it rounds up amounts. It may seem picky but I would like to see exactly what I am spending, not a rounded up version. Also, what makes it more frustrating is that when entering the amounts, it actually records the pounds and pence, so why not show that??? ✓ Promising but buggyI've tried nearly every budgeting app in the store and this is by far the closest to what I'm looking for — simple yet effective. It's just let down by some basic bugs and lack of attention to detail, such as rounding errors, not updating the unassigned money label, shoddy editing for categories and fixed incomes (have to delete the placeholder text for the name and money input lacks polish). I don't mind the app rounding to whole pounds, as I do this anyway. It should always round income down and expenditure up, though, as rounding to the nearest whole value is misleading. Also, if you're going to round the values, please make it obvious at an earlier stage (when entering values)..Version: 1.4.4

✓ Good but some bugs are annoyingBeen using it for a month. Aside from the goal bug, I found that when an expense is rolled over to a new month, the icon did not transfer. Any attempt to edit that will crash the app. A view of ALL purchases / spending / expenses would be greatly increased of you can sort it by day instead by category. Sometimes I review a day or two back and it's nice to be able to look at what I purchase that day and get to the details. They fixed that this version and added the date review..Version: 1.1

Honestly, it is the best way to keep track of and monitor money. The graphs and spending limit features are so helpful and I can honestly say this has put a lot of order into my life. ✓ Could be the best budgeting appI have tried many budgeting apps and have found this one to be the simplest and easiest to use. I really don't need all of he bells and whistles that you see in the other apps - I just need to know if i hit my budget target or not, and this app does this very well. Enter the second month of usage. Most people who budget usually do so ahead of time so that they can implement it come day 1 of new month. I had to wait anxiously for 2/1 to roll around to happily enter my numbers. I enter in my new numbers...only for it to get wiped out. So i enter the data again, exit out, go back in, and it gets wiped out again, only to leave the salary line with previous figure. Repeat about 5x. Please please fix this bug. I have anticipated budgeting for this month, only to have this happen. Can you also build in the option to begin budgeting at any day, for any month in the future? At this point, this app doesn't lend to any sort of long range planning (not that a month ahead is considered long range, but you know what i mean). These bugs are annoying, but I would definitely resume usage of this app as soon as it starts to save my entries!.Version: 1.1.5

✓ Best budget app yet!I have tried quite a few budget apps but now i have met the perfect one! With this app, its just so simple to keep track of my expenses and my income. I usually like to keep track of every dollar in my account so that i dont go over budget and this app does that and more. The interface makes it very simple to use. I can enter something into it in a matter of seconds. My only complain is to allow me to see weekly or daily summaries. The app currently just shows you what your money should be like for the month. Would be nice to see what my money is like at the very moment. The app just adds up everything, your expenses for the month and all your income and shows at as a summary. My problem is that its the beginning of the month. I want to see what my money looks like at this very moment. But its a small gripe that im sure these guys will add later one. ✓ Nearly perfect!Certainly the best I've used, automatically rolls over your monthly expenses each month :-) Only drawback I have found so far is that there isn't the possibility to calculate interest payments when repaying a credit card/loan... Could be a field to enter interest % or how much you paid this month (which calculates the interest rate for future months)... Still give it 5 stars as it is perfect otherwise :-).Version: 1.1.5

Not good for planning ahead for example. Goals not displayed until month they start. ✓ Incredibly well done.I downloaded Mint, since that seems to be the standard, but their mobile app wouldn't let me put money aside for savings. This app is 8 steps ahead of Mint in terms of design and ease of use. I still have the Mint app since it links with my bank account but I log my purchases into Back in Black because I enjoy the experience and can understand my finances so much easier in here. If there's one thing I wish the app did, I wish reached goals stayed visible until their end date. I can still see them in the logs though so it's not a huge deal.Version: 1.1.6
