✓ The best Kairosoft game. Period.I've played a lot of the story games from Kairosoft, and this one is by far my favorite. And honestly I think the 2D perspective is the biggest reason. It may sound like a shallow reason, but navigating around the other Kairosoft games was clunky and awkward. But in Mega Mall story they dispense with the 3D and navigation becomes super simple and allows the player to relax and think about the game. I love the leveling up, money making, budgeting, planning, remodeling, and everything else. This unlocking of new stores, investments, customers and options was enough to motivate me to finish the game 3 times. And I'll probably finish it more. ✓ The best shopping mall sim on the iPhone this year!I wish I could find something negative to say about this game, but like every other title from the studio it held my attention for the entire length of the game (12 hours or so). I cannot think of any other game on any platform I can say that about. And this company has now released their fourth. The game is quirky and fun. Fans of other Kairosoft games will be happy to see King Akbar and Chimpan Z return as well as some new characters I hadn't seen before. $3.99 might be a little pricey if you're not already somewhat invested in the other games too. But Kairosoft always offers a lite version so try the lite, try the others. They're all great! When Pocket Academy was released I was in Atlanta visiting a friend and we each started playing (me on my iPhone, him on my iPad) at around 3 in the afternoon and though we had planned to go out drinking that night the day flew by and we never made it out. ✓ Good enoughThis is garbage compared to other Kairosoft joints, but it's still a lot of fun. The building mechanic easier to handle and better organized than hot springs or pocket academy. The main downfall is that it's SUPER EASY, which is a lame quality in a video game obviously geared towards gamers. The only downside is that there's no way to start a new game from scratch. You can only load an existing save game once you've started the first two games using the blank save slots. ✓ Great Sim. Needs more content.This is a great Mall sim and the closest thing I'll get to playing Sim Tower again. I loved Game Dev and this title is just as amazing. However, the only problem is that for the $4 pricetag it could use more content. Here's some suggestions: *Remove Mall Size Limits - a 12 story mall is pretty insane. But there's so many stores and only 1 horizontal upgrade that after you unlock all the stores (not including combos, in which case you need multiple of the same stores) it's almost impossible to fit it all in there. *Include some initiative for game completion/new game+ - The only real problem I had is that even though the endgame is 15 years, with weeks going by as fast as they do the game ends very quickly. Aside from getting a high score there's no reason to do it all over again. How about a new game+ where you get to keep all your money as well as sell back your stores for money (the higher level they are the more you get) and maybe even some type of prize/special shop for getting a certain amount of clear points. He's been my customer for about 25 years I think and he has only attempted to go to my convenient store once. ( I put it on sale so he would come but the store got sold out first). This game is great, it is a bit easy but I think kairosoft games tend to be: They aren't about a challenge, so much as getting you to be attached to your creation (in this case a mall) and wanting to develop and improve it. It's very rpg-ish/the sims in that respect, and very addictive. The pacing is great, and you are very seldom idle, there is always something to invest in/build. All in all it's a great little simulation and hours can be lost to it. But as has been said it's not difficult to succeed! ✓ Why 4 StarsIve been currently working on beating everyone of their games. I have beaten Edo towns and game dev and have just beaten this one. It had a slow start which almost made me delete it but once you get into it its really fun. People saying they are having trouble with the "rival malls" are just not saving and spending money wisely. I had everything thing unlocked including investments, buildings, etc and with a total of 42 million dollars by the end of the game and i never had gone under my budget. As long as you don't get a buy a stores at the beginning of the game like crazy you will be fine. In conclusion, i would highly recommend this app if you played their other games and know what to expect. I wouldn't want to start their games with this one. ✓ Read this review.First off, in my humble 18 years gaming experience, I've never been hooked on a developers games such as I have with Kairosoft's line up. This isn't fanboy fodder here, I find all their games both addicting and rewarding. I think they all have replay value, including Mega Mall Story (MMS). I've played the game for a few hours and it's a lot like the free game "Tiny Tower" but with more depth and stats. It takes a lot of the same mechanics and strategy from previous games. The UI is one of the better incarnations of what they have used in the past. Normal and landscape views are supported. As always after beating the game you can access the fast gameplay speed and carry over some bonuses to a new save allowing you to achieve even higher scores. It's a buy for any Kairosoft fan but if you haven't tried out any of their games, this may be the most accessible of them all. And one more thing... Stop asking for Grand Prix Story!!! I probably was in hour 3 or 4 before I had to plug it in (nicely, the top bar stays in portrait orientation, so I could keep an eye on battery use but not have it take up real estate in typical landscape mode play). The only thing that got annoying were the popup windows after and during actions. You have to wait for them to type or calculate before you could dismiss them. Plus, several could have been combined to streamline things.
