✓ Not very good content and layout is terrible.I can't believe that people want the magazines to be free. How are they supposed to pay for getting content in the magazines? Grow up, people. You don't get these magazines free in the shops, why should you online? But they should make the content better if you're paying that much for a magazine. If they get advertising income from all the ads in the magazine (which you have to scroll through for a few minutes before getting to the articles) I don't see why the magazines should be so expensive. The layout is terrible with quite a few blank pages when viewing in portrait mode. There are lots of better magazines out there specifically made for the iPad. Rather pay for those..Version: 2.2

✓ No stars - Gone backwardsHave spent a lot of money on various issues and subscriptions of Mens Health (now expired thankfully) - the updated App is unusable, slow, crashes, can't rotate issues and every new version erases my archive so have to download each issue again(very time consuming and frustrating). Presume there must be someone responsible for quality control, it seems they haven't found the reviews section quite yet( a shame the writers of the magazine have their hardworking undone in this way). Until this is resolved I'll be keeping my money in my pocket and I'm quite sure I will not be the only one!.Version: 4.0.16
✓ The lettering is blurry on I-Pod Touches!So I went to buy a magazine payed my $5. It finished downloading and I can't even read it! It was do freaking blurry! ✓ Not worth the hassleI have to log out and log in every time I use the app otherwise it tells me to subscribe or buy the issue for £3.99. When I want new issues I have to re log in and even then I have to wait for it to finish downloading before I leave the app otherwise it will ask me to subscribe again. ✓ Just a PDFThis is just a PDF of the magazine which means that you have to zoom in on every page to see the text. It also doesn’t make it feel like a magazine as a result. Most other magazines have used digital to create something different and this could be Men’s Health’s opportunity to perhaps include videos of workout exercises or something..Version: 6.5

✓ Good Magazine, Poor AppAfter subscribing to this magazine for the past year, I thought I'd give it a fair review. After purchasing a paper copy once, I decided I was interested in this content, and having subscribed for the year it never disappointed. However, the app for this magazine completely lets it down. First of all, opening the magazine is always a challenge. On the majority of occasions it fails to remain open and therefore makes the magazine I've paid £30 something to read, impossible to use. Then there's minor issues with downloading. I find it very inconsistent with the app actually remembering my downloaded content, so if I ever wanted to return to old issues, I'd have to download all over again. Lastly, having subscribed for the year, I have seen many of the articles and content appear on the MH website - which makes me think, what on earth am I paying for? It's very unfortunate, good magazine, awful app..Version: 3.0.3
✓ I want a refundI purchased and downloaded the April issue Tuesday night. When I came to view this again on Wednesday it had gone and had to be re-downloaded. Which alone is frustrating. I then start to read the "digital" magazine which costs the same as the print version??? After 22 pages of adverts I finally get to the contents. Complete waste of money I'm going back to buying the print addition at least you get the extra supplements etc and don't feel like you have been ripped off. ✓ Enhanced Version CrashesI love to purchase the paper version of UK Men's Health here in Canada as I think it is far superior to the North American Men's Health. However, this magazine has not worked great for me since getting a subscription for the year. I have trouble downloading magazines on multiple devices and now the newsstand crashes every time I open it with the enhanced version of the magazine. ✓ Absolute rubbish;I cannot access this at all on my iPad or iPhone, I've deleted, re installed, re purchased, tried everything. Contacted Hearst magazine, they said it's apples problem as the app was bought from them. It's really bad, there is no content, no magazines, nothing. I used to constantly read this magazine now I cannot at all. I've recently downloaded men's fitness and the Readr app, both work amazing. Just men's health that doesn't and I've already paid for the yearly subscription. Absolutely a load if rubbish. ✓ Needed online connection to view purchasesDownloaded this app, one issue of MH and one Special issue, for a long plane journey I was about to go on. All worked at the airport when I had an Internet connection and was able to view and read the magazines after downloading. Once on the plane with no Internet, is was not possible to read or view the purchases. The view button was highlighted but did not respond. Once back in the UK with an Internet connection the app started working again. Absolutely pointless app if you can not read offline when I want to..Version: 3.0.5

✓ Not worth it. Don't bother!Wow this is poor! How can they justify £3.99 per issue when this is essentially the print ready pdf's converted to a page turner? There is zero interactivity in this app as far as I can see, so how can it cost the same as the printed copy? Aside from that the pages take a while to load at full res and because it's basically a zoomable PDF none of the font is readable without zooming so viewing a whole article is difficult. I have the asos magazine, guardian iPad and good food magazine. All of those are well made ezines in an app format. This is an example of profiteering. Avoid, avoid, avoid!.Version: 2.2
✓ 3 Star Review for a 5 Star MagazineThe only reason I'm taking the time to review this app is in the hope that someone at Men's Health or Newsstand reads this. Can't you just give people what they want at a fair price and the option to read it without ads? At least no pop ups? Is it really that hard to understand? Wouldn't you rather want a lot of people spending a little than a few spending way too much and giving your magazine here negative reviews? Men's Health is an excellent and well produced magazine. You sell the hard copy at the premium price. If people want if they got it and it really should cost more. You could sell the iOS versions for 99 cents (msybe more for the iPad ) and a LOT more people would pay. Wouldn't you really want a lot more people to appreciate Men's Health as a magazine and as a leader in online distribution? The reason I'm giving this app 3 stars is because there is something to read for free here. Get to a less greedy and more logical price point for digital content. There's no way on earth you will convince me (and countless others) that a download is worth the same dollar amount as physical product. Especially with advertisements galore..Version: 2.2

✓ Poor transition to electronic formThe app is essentially a PDF reader when it had the potential to be a versatile and modern method of reading the magazine. You only need to look as far as Men’s Health US to see what could be done: 1 live links 2 downloadable ingredient lists 3 videos showing exercises Looking at what it could have been shows the clear lack of inventiveness with the product. Even if you accept the app for what it is then there are still the following problems: 1 fails to stay logged in 2 No search function 3 scrapbook only lets you save pages not whole articles (unintuitive) On the failure to log in point - the help desk recommended I reinstall the app, problem didn’t go away AND it deleted all the scrapbook pages I’d saved. Not helpful. There needs to be a concerted effort to make the electronic copy of the magazine easier to navigate and easier to handle. I’ve reverted to the hard copy version. I don’t have to log in daily to use that!.Version: 6.5

✓ Great magazine! Terrible app....I really don't know why after all these years the app is still total garbage... Can you see these reviews? To access your magazines you must sign in... Ok fine... BUT it usually takes a few attempts before it registers that you've signed in. It constantly signs me back out. This is really frustrating when I just want to read my magazine. Also why is there no auto download? It's a real pain having to click on each magazine one at a time to initiate a download then leave the iPad open otherwise the download stops. This is a serious pain if you have mutiple magazines to download. Which I usually have because I never use this app. There should be an auto download function and a single sign in as well. If you you want people to use this app over a magazine it should be as convenient if not more than a magazine. ✓ Can't access digital subscriptionPaid for both magazine and digital subscription and have never had the digital version working! The registration process gets into a loop. So you click the 'forgot my password' link and that's supposed to trigger an email to reset your password. This email never arrives. I have had a couple of calls with the Hearst staff and several email exchanges all promising to sort the problem. They never have. Instead their rectification method appears to be to extend my subscription and then refund the digital element. This is all well and good, but not what I wanted. I travel a lot with my work and the digital version meant I could have the contents with me without having to lug around the actual magazine. Maybe all of the advertising revenue they're generating (per other reviewers comments) allows them to 'resolve' customer problems by giving things away, rather than getting some competent people to fix the root cause and provide customers with what they've asked for!.Version: 4.0.20
