However, I have some suggestions for improving the UI. 1) Move the buttons that clear the board or restart the game farther away from the number pad! I've accidentally lost all my work more than once. 2) Don't block the pencil mark option for numbers that have been completed - sometimes one wants to use it to remove a penciled number, but can't because that digit was blocked. 3) Provide a way to set a bookmark point to return to if a trial entry doesn't work out. 4) Provide a way to turn off the indication that an entered digit is incorrect. ✓ Progress:This is a great game that I play daily. There is only one nagging issue and that is the “++” function and the “—“ function are so close to the single note function and can accidentally be pressed which means all the hard work of notes up to that point is lost. I would suggest a simple pop-up to confirm that you want to use the ++ or the — functions is added to prevent this happening. Otherwise, this is the best sudoku app that I’ve found. So, the previous 'upgrade' was poor, and this one has improved the app. I'm now using it again and enjoying being "Insane" again. What I like about this app, is that the providers seem to listen to feedback, and they have quickly changed the previous 'upgrade' into something more usable. That said, a few observations that would improve this app: 1. The function buttons are very small. Delete the 2nd row and just have the most-used functions. This would mean... 2. The number boxes can be larger (2 rows), which was one good thing the previous version had. 3. Omit the gridlines for the numerical notes - it's messy and the less distractions the better. 4. The change in colour from normal to 'note' formats is too severe and takes frustrating moments to reset my eyes from one colour to the next. I shuffle between modes constantly, so this just slows me down and annoys / frustrates me. This is still my favourite app though, and nearly perfect. Previous Review: This app has been changed. There are some nice features that make the overall appearance clean and simple BUT my main grippe is the 'notes' feature, which is shocking! The previous version had the numbers in their own locations (i.e. "1" top LHS, "9" bottom RHS) now they just come in numerical order, which makes it very difficult to see the numerical pattern. This is such a fundamental change that I now find the function unusable. I am an "Insane" user and without a usable Notes function this App is unusable. This used to be my favourite App, now it's destined for the bin... Previous Review: The current update has restored my faith in my most precious app - I'm an "Insane" man and love the challenge this gives. Many thanks for a wonderful app. This is the best sudoku app I've found! Only one small grumble; the ++ and -- buttons (which I never use and are pointless) are too close to the marker digits that I often loose all my markers if I hit the wrong button. Just get rid of that and the world will be a beautiful place...!.Version: 5.5

✓ Flexible to your style- almost completelySo, if you are SUPER hard-core in your Sudoku-ing, and want absolutely no ease of use, this is not the app for you. The current version, unless you work around it abusing the "pencil" feature, always highlights the numbers a selected square COULD be. In other words, if a number is in the same column, row, or square, it won't be lit up at the bottom of your screen. However, it in no way tells what it HAS to be by process of elimination. This makes easy and medium puzzles pretty much a joke, requiring little if any thought. However, the Expert puzzles are still very challenging, and I haven't even TRIED the insane ones yet. It saves you some eye-strain by eliminating the choices that are obviously wrong. I find that the many options allow you to turn on and off most features. The only change that would really be appreciated is to be able to turn off the auto-check. i have not figured out a way, and I'd rather be able to guess and try process of elimination other than being told right away that I was wrong. It takes a bit of the fun out of it. Great App.Version: 2.2.0

✓ Does exactly what it says on the tin!Ok, so I am a bit of a sudoku geek. Downloaded this and was pleasantly surprised to find each game is randomly generated so you would be highly unlikely to get the same puzzle twice. The workings are simple. The pencil icon writes in the numbers which are still available to use in that given square, which is a sort of hint too, not good for someone who doesn't mind making a mistake and having to undo previous answers to find the right one, so it can be annoying when you see the numbers left to use being highlighted. The ads are not intrusive, so I really wouldn't bother paying to remove them. Quite frustrating that it doesn't keep your previous scores or tells you whether you were quicker or slower than the last puzzle you completed. Overall, 4/5 stars!.Version: 2.2.1

I love this version of Sudoku. There are games for every skill level, fun graphics, hints if you want them, and easy to play. The only glitch I've found is when you hit the restart symbol you get a message asking if you want to restart the game, and even if you select cancel, your game is cleared out. ✓ Best so farWhat I like: auto-fill in, and when you ink in a number the possibilities are recalculated to eliminate those that the number has now made impossible. This eliminates tedium and allows you to concentrate on logic. It is also easy to go from penciling in to ink. What I don't like: no help, so there are options I don't totally understand. What I'd like: sometimes you have to choose between to options and go on to see if it causes a contradiction. You can do this with pencil mode, but sometimes you have to make another arbitrary choice. ✓ Very good version, thank you. :)I love the pick a number and place in many cells facility. Needs an increase (and decrease) the "picked" number buttons. I "pick" a 1 then see where it can "go" then like to increment the "picked" number and see where the 2 can "go" then increment to 3 and see where that goes etc. From 9 it increments to 1 again. In the increment routine any numbers completely placed are ignored. The decrement routine should work in opposite. (All these facilities are available in a PDA version of Sudoku which I am trying to leave behind). :) Also the screen should be used more completely to make the grid as big as possible. Strange though, there is a "Load Sudoku" option that just displays a blank screen with a couple of patterns? Otherwise a VERY nice implementation of Sudoku. :) Will pay to hide ads as soon as I get my iTunes card. :).Version: 3.4.0
