✓ Buggy for me in 2023I love this app! I would gladly pay good money for a new version that works better. The version in the store today prevents me from creating games with my two friends who still play, which is super sad :(.Version: 1.94
✓ AI bugI love this game but I've been having a problem lately playing Krusenstern where he simply stops playing and won't make his move, usually fairly early on in the game. It's very frustrating as he is the only AI that really challenges me. Fix that bug and its definitely a 5 star game!.Version: 1.23

✓ Great game, but a tiny issue, and some cool suggestionsI love this game. It is lots of fun. I will say, whenever I turn the music up if you will or turn it on, as a voiceover screen reader user, I wish that when I would swipe across the screen, the music would not cut out as voiceover is speaking. I’m not sure why it does that. if there’s something technical that you are not able to get around, I can understand. But if possible, perhaps this could be fixed in a future update. Nevertheless, it is a great game. Here is a cool suggestion. I wish that people can send voice clips online. So not only do you send emoticon’s before drawing a card, you can send a voice clip. That way, people can make taunts to each other or what not. It would be really cool. and maybe, perhaps, it would be cool to make your own computer player. Just for fun. ✓ Good game, bad auto-matchWhy is it that when i was winning a game with 2 cards left, the other player quit, and yet it counts as a loss for me? Also, there seem to be players who never take their turns and wait for you to quit so it counts as a win for them. It’s ridiculous. This player “masced” seems to be spamming the auto-match with new game requests. Could the developers please address these issues? It would be nice to get to play the game with other people who actually want to play and not just grief..Version: 1.93
✓ Almost greatI'd like to give this game five stars, but I can't.... Yet. Online play needs a turn time limit like in carcassonne. I have played too many games that have taken days because people can not commit to play a game through to the end in one sitting. I don't want to surrender the game, so it drags on and on. ✓ Great gameI had never heard of this card game before, and to be honest, it didn't look very interesting! But I gave it a go because the iOS version is made by the people who made Carcassonne, and became hooked after the tutorial. If you like card/board games, you will love this.Version: 1.60
✓ Good game, but app badge notifications are iffyI really like this game, but often the app badge notifications get...confused?...when iOS updates come out. Usually the badge just doesn't clear when I've taken my turn, but right now it is straight up backwards. The notification disappears when it's my turn, and stays on when it isn't. Luckily, I play another game with the same friend and we both tend to take our turns in the games at the same time, so I rely on that game's app badge to let me know when it's my turn in Lost Cities. A minor bug to be sure, but still an annoyance in an otherwise wonderful and very enjoyable app..Version: 1.80

✓ Simple but challengingI've had this game on my phone for a couple of years now, and over time it has become one of the two or three games I play the most. Very easy to learn, simple rules, but challenging to win consistently, and thus, a satisfying game experience. The games are short so when I lose, I feel compelled to give it another try. I find the AIs pretty good and am constantly refining my strategy to beat them more frequently. Luck is an element but solid tactics and prudent gambles make all the difference. ✓ Great game, dodgy skill awardingI love this game, as does my wife. We're both addicted to playing it, both against each other and the AI. I highly recommend it, it's well worth the price; we even own the physical version. AI is where the game is a let-down. After many hours playing I'm convinced that the algorithm used for awarding skill points at the end of the game is skewed. Time and again, if I win against the AI with a whopping score (say +79 to -14 in my favour), I'll get a skill increase of a paltry 2.1% and the AI loses only 1.3%. But if the AI wins - even on a close win (say 23 to 20 against me), the AI is awarded a whopping 5.4% skill and I lose a massive 5.1%. This has happened numerous times - both to me and my wife, and we are both experienced players. We've analysed the board after the game but still cannot understand how the game is making the skill award decisions. Clearly the skill awarding is heavily weighted in the AI's favour. If the makers could either explain why the skill award is like this, or fix it, then this would be a rare 5-star game..Version: 1.02

A lot of the ability to win or lose is based a lot on luck rather than skill when players are evenly matched. What I don’t like is when playing against others online there is no option to play a timed game, so a game can have hours or days between a single move if the other player wants. ✓ CharmingLost Cities is a rather light Reiner Knizia card game; not dissimilar to several others that have made their way to iOS apps. This app is superior to that bunch: not because of the content which is safe enough, but in the flourishes (spoken tutorial, anyone?) and presentation. Those familiar with this developer's Carcassonne app will expect high standards indeed, and while Lost Cities itself is arguably inferior those standards are well met. ✓ I can’t put it down!I was intrigued when I saw in the app description that this app was voiceover friendly. I am legally blind and have not been able to play the physical version this game as easily as I used to be able to. Playing on a tablet enables me to zoom in on card numbers. When I tested this game with my screen reader, I was expecting the buttons to be read, and maybe my cards. But I was astonished when my screen reader read EVERYTHING, including the lanes and the opponents plays, moves and scoring! I could play this game in the dark, which is to say, when my eye is in a lot of pain, I can still play because I don’t have to strain to look at the screen. Thank you so much for making this game truly and completely accessible. ONLY suggestion for the app itself would be to include a pass and play option..Version: 1.94

I keep about 8 games going and play every day or two. Others complain about the timing but I don’t think they understand how the online play works: each player has three days to play your turn; afterward the opponent can end the game and it counts as a victory for them. ✓ Great adaptation of a classic gameCoding Monkeys doesn't do lots of board game ports, but they lavish care and attention on the ones they do tackle. Carcassonne is fabulous; this has a great interface, it's easy to learn and very slick. I especially like the achievements to level up: they actually add some fun to playing against the AI. I know people are complaining about the lack of a universal version: I've played this almost exclusively on the iPad in 2X mode and it looks and plays great. The lack of a universal app shouldn't keep you away. The one thing I'd like to see is the addition of a pass and play mode for local play, but this works less well in a card game with hidden information..Version: 1.01

✓ A great find for my mobile.Although the game has been around for 15 years or so and I am a self proclaimed game geek, I had not played this game before downloading the App’ a few days ago. Within minutes of playing, I won my first game; albeit on the first level. What makes this game so good for the mobile in particular is the fact that a full game is over in minutes, unless of course you choose to ruminate and cogitate for long periods which shouldn’t be necessary. Now, okay I won my first game, but on going onto the second level I got put back in my place very quickly. I have won a couple but my losses are significantly greater. I’m a Noob okay; so suffering defeat is a part of the process. The graphics on my IPhone 13 ( basic) are good and pleasant to play on. The App has recently been updated for OIS 15 which will hopefully deal with any earlier issues. I played Carcassonne by the Code Monkeys online for two years on a daily basis and never had any issues. Hopefully they will continue to maintain Lost cities . I haven’t tried to play online yet as I need to improve my play first. As the game is perhaps no longer topical in view of its age I don’t hold any great expectations for online activity levels although I have a female friend ( behave ) showing as a current player on the Play centre. For the price this game shouldn’t be overlooked. Even if you despise it you will only have lost circa £1.79 which is about the price of a postage stamp these days..Version: 1.94
