Spectrum Analyzer RTA for Positive User Reviews

Great app!It has come in very handy for debugging switched mode power supply designs to track down audible buzzing etc. Only suggestions are: 1) screenshot button 2) ability to save to csv data file for use in MATLAB etc. 3) is there a way to use some kind of broad spectrum USB microphone?.Version: 1.9.1

SpectraAlways wanted a analyst tool like this and thought they were to expensive or complicated, thank you! Great price and very easy to operate!.Version: 1.9.1

Wow, just wow. Doesn’t just work, it shinesFull features and very responsive Octave RTA, which accepts both uncalibrated and calibrated microphones like iDSP ones. Has a full FFT plot as well. Spectrograph is really useful to identify sources of that annoying pitch you can hear among all the noise. Perfectly fluent user interface, simple yet fully functional. No delays, no glitches, the spectrum just comes alive on the screen. I can not describe how fluid the user interface feels - you just have to try. This is truly impressive! Check out their web site for a neat tutorial on how to EQ a room!.Version: 1.9.5

It's worth the priceI'm a sound engineer and I use this app all the time. It's not the cheapest, but it has a lot of usual features. Get it.Version: 1.9.1

Exactly what I neededThis app is gold. Does everything it should. It's got octave, FFT, different response speeds, full screen, can pause and it's extremely accurate. Beautifully designed to apple standards. Cred: Sound design student at Berklee College of Music.Version: 1.2

Easy to useGreat app, also accepts calibrated microphones and their cal files..Version: 1.9.5

Couldn't ask for moreFunctionally has everything that I could want from an FFT/spectrograph tool, and the design is intuitive and polished. Absolutely earns a five star review, and was worth every penny..Version: 1.9.1

PerfectThis is the best spectrum analysis app. I have tried the others and this has the best performance, overall look, and a very well laid out UI. Get this one! I have worked in the audio industry for over 10 years, including audio product design, acoustic analysis, and tuning. This app is the best audio utility app I've encountered on iOS..Version: 1.2

Visually beautiful, and exactly what I expected technicallyBought this to measure a high-frequency hum which disappeared when I bought the app. So thanks for that. Seriously, though, a very nice UI wrapper around the FFT..Version: 1.9.5

Sometimes Crashes On StartupOtherwise it would be a five star app! One thing that could also make it better would be some way to save and share the results..Version: 1.7

Easy to use analyzer for everyone!I make a lot of electronic music and this analyzer helps me get all the pitches just the way I want. I've also even used this to tune my new home theater setup and even my car audio settings. So easy to use and very accurate!!.Version: 1.2

Musicians and Sound People Need ThisWell-done app! Looks great on my iPad Pro and seems to do everything as-advertised. Definitely recommended..Version: 1.9.1

Works great for me on the current ios 10.3.3This is a very cool app. I'm a total novice, but this tool allows me to analyze sound. It's fun. I only wish there was an online tutorial to help me learn faster. This app rocks!.Version: 1.9.1

Really SlickI am loving this app. Everything I need for audio testing for video minus a proper mic. Not the developers fault, they did their job 100% with this app. Don't leave home without it..Version: 1.7

Absolute perfectionI have used this app for many many years and made lots of money fixing sound issues. Also, the Spectrograph at max sensitivity can find any power whine to help regain your sanity. 10/10.Version: 1.9.5

Great mobile RTA toolI use this for quick and handy analysis for ringing out stage monitors and as a second reference to validate my DBX PA2 analyzer. It's very accurate, particularly if you use the Dayton Audio measurement mic, designed specifically for mobile devices. This is truly an impressive app..Version: 1.7

Really cool tool and good supportWorks well, support provided clear options for my needs other than an external mic. Am able to connect monitor selects/cues straight from my board to my iPad/iPhone; using other vendor connections. It woul be nice if the app had an oscope function..Version: 1.3

Great app!Im a professional sound engineer, this app is great! Very accurate!.Version: 1.9.5

TechnicianVery well designed and useful product. Accuracy even better with external microphone. Highly recommended.Version: 1.7

Super cool way to see the sounds around youSo I was looking for a way to see how noisy it was in my office. Saw this app an wow. This app is so cool, showing me exactly how much noise is around. Whistle a tune and watch the analyzer show you your sounds. Cool App. Thanks.Version: 1.2

One of the Best IOS RTA apps! And cheap too!I use this regularly with a Dbx rta mic connected to a I'm multimedia iMicPre that connects into the headphone jack. The app picks it up and it works flawlessly. The way the UI handles averaging is elegant in my opinion!.Version: 1.3

Excellent appThis app works great and have a very pleasing look and feel. I design sound systems and this app is useful to get a visual on how my system is performing. This app is also going to be useful for training or testing employees. The app does what it's supposed to and if you get a good external mic it becomes a lot more precise. This tool is well worth the money and I really couldn't be more pleased with this purchase..Version: 1.9.1

Works greatWould be nice if you could analyze while playing music.Version: 1.9.1

Exactly what I wantedVery nice analyzer for the price. Recommend..Version: 1.9.1

Very coolThis app works. I can sit for hours just watching it. Great price and does exactly what it says it does. I used it to tune my new audio system in my car..Version: 1.3

Absolutely Essential AppEvery feature is top of the line. I especially like the spectrograph for finding feedback after the fact and that it displays the overall level on the RTA.Version: 1.9.1

Best quick analyzerI use this app on a daily basis for its great FFT. Perfect to quickly ring out monitors and even pinpoint trouble frequencies at FOH..Version: 1.9.1

RTABest tool of it's kind ever downloaded here... Much better than expected... 73s from Dave AA1A.Version: 1.9.1

Great AppWorth every penny. Had a chance to email developers and got a response in a reasonable time..Version: 1.9.1

New AppFaber tried to rip me off by bricking my app with IOS 13 I refused to buy into their greed and purchased this app glad IO did it works really well Good App.Version: 1.9.5

Spectrum AnalyzerAs a former IEEE Technical Committee Chair for Signal Processing, I find this app amazingly flexible and useful. First test was to analyze the overly-noisy coffeehouse this morning. Worked very well with its proper designed-in control selections. I only wish that a spectrum could be captured and transferred to my Mac for further analysis and display..Version: 1.0

Excellent reference toolBought this app for an on the fly reference tool. First opportunity to try it out was at the local theater last night. Seven actors with lapel Mics and feedback galore. Within minutes we had identified resonate frequencies in the room and made adjustments. A must have for any serious sound man..Version: 1.3

I was surprised how far to push my car stereo settings--nice!Seems to work best if I attach the iPhone to the car via USB for pink noise generator, and use iPad for spectrum analysis. Doing both on the iPhone alone, the iPhone noticeably diminished the pink noise volume. I used iPhone 7+ and iPad Pro with iOS 10.3.2, and the screen is completely steady. Even with the iPhone 4S, the screen is completely steady..Version: 1.9.1

Very easy to useNot complicated plus it includes a tone generator that generates different tones plus pink noise and white noise..Version: 1.9.1

Great educational tool!I work in the acoustics field, and this app is a great education and outreach tool. The spectral view is beautiful, and the choice of log vs. linear scale is important for teaching the differences between high frequency signals and low frequency signals. The developer is very responsive, always a plus in my book..Version: 1.3

Great AppWorks well... Seems to pickup and read a lot of very sub low all the time though. Thinking about buying MicW i436 to further improve the functionality of the app. Would like to see an SPL feature added that tells me how "loud" it is in the room..Version: 1.3

LuthierI use this app for on the spot analysis of stringed instruments I construct and repair as well as checking out those I might purchase at retail. I find the octave RTA suits my purposes best. And you can't beat the price. Does the same thing as versions costing $75 or more..Version: 1.9.1

Works GreatSimple but effective RTA app..Version: 1.2

Spectacular lightweight analysis appHi! Are use this app to assist me and ringing out stage monitors as it is a lightweight easy to use simple and accurate bit of software that does exactly what you wanted to do and stays out of the way otherwise. I give it five stars for its smooth trouble free and solid performance..Version: 1.9.5

Best Analyzer I've FoundI actually own a handheld RTA and have other software on my laptop for analyzing audio. I had just installed a stereo in my truck and wanted to use them to adjust the 13-band 2-channel EQ. For some reason, I just couldn't get it to sound right with either of my more expensive devices. I noticed several RTA apps in the App Store and figured I'd give them a try. I couldn't imagine that they would do as well as my much more expensive gear, but I might as well try. As I mentioned above, I tried out several apps, but one just seemed to work more naturally than the others: Octave RTA (part of this Spectrum Analyzer suite). I was able to use the full octave mode to match the bands of the RTA with my EQ and adjust them perfectly. When I was done, it sounded great. I couldn't believe that a simple app (even using the built-in microphone!) on my iPad could do so well. Totally worth the money. In fact, I originally bought Octave RTA, but ended up also purchasing Spectrum Analyzer as well since it includes a tone generator..Version: 1.7

So cool, for Hearing Aids! Now that insurance companies have gotten into the hearing aid game, these devices have gotten far more capable, expensive, and complicated to tune. What i use to adjust with a screw driver at home now requires a computer and visit to the audiologist. And so after a life time of others controlling what I could hear, I found I was horrible at relating sounds to frequencies. So now what's bass, tinny, brassy, echo, reverb? All I knew was these $6000 hearing aids were by far the most expensive and worst sounding aids of my life! This app came to my rescue! So, now rather than having to say "my wife's voice is screechy loud, the tea kettle was blowing my ears, and yet i can't hear the train", and letting my audiologist guess the frequencies. This app put me in control by giving me a visual reference of the sounds around me. No more frequency guessing. I was blown away when I found my biggest issue. Every so often my ears would "yike", I had no idea if it was sound or defective aids. Twenty minutes into using this app my ears "yoked" just as this app indicated a loud high frequency narrow band clap! I had no idea of the source of the sound but I knew exactly what I did not need to hear! Combined this app with a media player app with a capable equalizer like "EQu" you can adjust, play, and see all you can hear. I found this app easy to use and give it top ratings. My audiologist will love this thing..Version: 1.2

Analyze Music in LibraryIt's a useful app, but would be so much better if it could analyze the tunes in your music library (i.e open & playback a song).Version: 1.9.1

Cool App!Love this app, and the customer service is top notch 👍.Version: 1.9.5

Best RTA on the App Store, PLEASE UPDATE!I’m very pleased by this Spectrum Analyzer; it is the only one that I’ve found that can run at full speed on an iPad Air 2! A+ To the devs; if you’re still updating this app, i’d appreciate a way to select other inputs on audio interfaces; I’d love the ability to monitor what’s coming into inputs 3+4..Version: 1.9.5
