✓ Great unless you're Korean🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This app is wonderful and I really recommend it if you are studying for any of the JLPT tests. But if you set the language to Korean, the words do not match up, this needs to be fixed, there is basically no Korean language support because of this problem. If you are normal on the other hand, and use this app in English, then it's a 5 star app for sure! ✓ This could be the one!!I don't want to jump the gun and say its amazing and cream myself, but after studying Japanese in uni as a side module for 2 years I'm starting to self teach myself with the minna no nihongo books. It's my new years resolution to get back to the level I was before and beyond blah blah blah, basically, I've tried the other kanji apps and where as they are thorough I will admit, they don't give you the kanji in its wording during a quiz, just the single kanji. Knowing 友 is useless to me instead of the full word 友達. I'm not concerned with writing at the moment but rather recognition of words. I-sokki is marvellous where in they give you the kanji in its context, which is the preferred method for me to learn, through repetition and in context. I have yet to see any bugs yet and god forbid I do, but so far I am excited to have this with me. Hands down it is what I want. Give the free part a try, you'll see what I mean. to get the rest at only £3-£4 the price of a McDonald's meal but getting information that will last the serious student a lifetime, you could do farrrrrr worse. This really could be the app that single handedly endows me with the ability to recognise kanji, enabling me to finally read, thus meaning my Japanese won't constantly slip away through lack of practice because of no one to talk to and not being at a level to read natural stuff. Ability to read newspaper will keep me sharp(I hope) ....something like 8000 words in here in the full app. Couple that with grammar and your golden P.s if this message appears about 3 times, my iPhone isn't seeming to allow me to post so i've been spamming the send button lol.Version: 1.3.3
✓ Great! Wish there were a couple more optionsVery easy to use app for testing oneself on kanji. Different modes provide different challenges and internal achievements are nice. Wish there were options for: - hiragana to kanji tests - option to turn off hiragana Also wish the multiple choice answers offered more difficulty. For a question such as guessing the hiragana for 染まり, only one answer ends with り which makes it quite obvious which the JLPT is definitely not like. ✓ Fun and helpfulNice and easy way to quiz yourself and learn new vocab. There is a problem with longer words, however. They don't fit on the screen, so you have to guess at what it is on those somewhat rare occasions. These words also push the sound/play icon right on top of the kanji when viewing the list after each quiz, so you can't read the kanji. Please fix this and I'll update to 5 stars..Version: 1.2.3

✓ It has audio tracks!! :))There are other great Japanese vocab learning apps but this is the only one I've found with an amazing interface, and it has native speakers speaking each word. It's so hard to find info on pitch in Japanese, and with this you won't have to worry. Just practice each word as you hear it, and it has all you need for any level of jlpt. ✓ It's good for vocabulary, but...If you just want to expand your vocabulary then this is a good app however I wished there were themed grouping of testing, like one section would be food, the other be greetings, something like that. However the app does not provide much help in anything else. But I guess if you end up learning all the words you'll have a rough understanding of what a Japanese person is saying..Version: 1.5.8

My only issues would be that I'd like to see the addition of settings that allow me to customize how and what I study. My only major issue with it is the multiple choice answers. ✓ Great appLove this app - the quick quiz system is addictive, and the achievements increase my motivation to keep going. It's easy to forget that you're studying, since it feels like a game. Bought the full vocabulary library, since I'm certain I'll want to keep using it beyond N5. :) The only thing I don't like is that when a question is answered correctly, you need to tap anywhere on the screen to continue, but when your first answer is incorrect, choosing the correct one immediately takes you to the next question. Sometimes I tap the screen out of habit, and end up with another incorrect answer by accident - often a few times in a row. ✓ WonderfulI've scoured basically the entire App Store for Japanese learning apps and this is one of my favorites. The short simple quizzes make all the words really easy to remember. I especially love the kanji mode since I struggle with kanji. They don't quiz you on the onyomi and kunyomi but they teach you words with kanji which I find more helpful and makes it easier to remember the different readings. N5 is free and I think the rest of the levels are a very reasonable price for the amount of words they provide for study. Absolutely perfect for learning Japanese vocabulary. ✓ I-SokkiExcellent and appealing interface. Easy to use. However, the one gripe have is that at times I find myself able to cheat on the vocabulary. The reason for this -- if I see an unfamiliar verb, but 2 of the 4 possible answers are nouns, I now have a chance to get the answer correct without actually knowing it.
