IndispensableI was so excited to see an update to this app. I have years of running history saved here, it would have been a shame to lose it. Awesome App with Outstanding Customer SupportI have been using Runner's Log for about 4 months and find the app to be extremely useful for tracking my running activity. In addition to GPS capability, it is also great for mapping out a run before you begin. The other feature I really like is the ability to track the mileage on my shoes. This is helpful in knowing when they need to be replaced to prevent injuries. I recently had an issue syncing Runner's Log between my iPhone and iPad which was caused by an iCloud outage, not the app. I contacted the developer and he was extremely responsive to my issue. I am very loyal to products that provide exceptional customer support since that is so rare to find these days. The developer attention to my issue was well beyond what I would have expected. Don't hesitate to download this app. You won't be disappointed in the functionality or the support..Version: 2.2

Absolutely great!Very clean and friendly interface. No garbage that you never need on the screen. It logs all your running and reports back to you very nicely. It calculates your pace and you can preset your routes. It also reports your shoes' utilization so you can easily know when to replace them. It takes 20 seconds or less to input the information and see your progress, then you just sit back and relax after a good run!.Version: 1.4

Out of This World Support!!This is an awesome app and I have used for the past year! It's simple, yet provides some great analysis on runs completed! Not only is it a great app, but the support from the developers is fantastic! I had an issue with the app when I upgraded to a new iPad and at the same time Apple iCloud service was interrupted. I got an immediate response and a very detailed walk through of how to get my data back! So thankful to Mike for all his support and the very quick resolution! Exactly what I was looking forThis app is great if you are looking for a digital record of your runs. Love how it can save info such as routes, start time, km/h, shoe use, specified tags and so much more. Easy to view stats and track your training..Version: 3.0.2

ALMOST perfectThis is a great app, for all the reasons cited in other reviews. It's blend of simplicity yet functionality for runners is almost perfect. There are only two blemishes I've noticed--which are a bit irritating but so easy to fix: 1) the course you map out doesn't include mile markers. It shows you distance while creating it but doesn't flag the mile markers, meaning you can never see the mileposts again after created. I like to keep a mental image of when I'm passing mile markers during my run. and 2) it won't let you modify an existing course to add or reduce mileage and save to a new route name. You have to recreate a whole new course. Otherwise, if you modify an existing course, it will change the mileage in your log of previous runs using that course. These are small glitches in an otherwise terrific app but I'm surprised no one else has mentioned them. I hope the developer will eventually correct these..Version: 3.2

Best running app ever!!Super easy to use... can track routes, distance, pace and time. One of the best features for me is mileage tracking for your running shoes. My PT first told me I needed to pay attention to worn down shoes to prevent injury. This app has been perfect for that as well as the other features. A true keeper!!!.Version: 3.3.1

Great running logA very simple running log app with a clean looking interface and easy to use controls. Let's you track your mileage, compare your weekly, monthly and yearly totals, and keep track of the miles you are putting on each pair of shoes. Nothing fancy, but it allows you to enter your data quickly and efficiently. Sometimes simple is better, and for me this is better than having to get on my computer to sync my garmin to their clunky online database, or the PC based program with its buggy ANT software. Also, when I emailed the customer support for this app about an issue, I received a response within 20 minutes, and had a solution to my issue almost as quickly. Excellent appThis is a simple to use and well thought-through app. It's really useful as a motivational tool for things like marathon training that gets repetitive, as you can plan different and interesting routes that enable you to keep to your weekly mileage targets. The ability to track running by distance, pace or time is useful and provides some interesting training data that helps monitor recovery times in the days following long runs. The ability to keep track of shoe mileage is great too, as it's about the only way to get a true idea of how the shoe will be wearing, and provides a good indicator as to when a shoe needs replacing. Simple, effective, uncomplicated, slick and a useful aid to both recreational running and training schedules..Version: 1.4

Excellent app!As an avid runner I wanted a simple and straight forward log, and this is it. Easy to enter pertinent info without all the clutter of some other apps. Sent the developer a couple suggestions for future enhancements and received a prompt courteous response. Nice to see the app will still be supported. Highly recommend! Follow-up: new version is awesome! Been looking forward to changing start of the week and couldn't figure it out so I emailed the developer. First running journalI'm training for my first half marathon and the book I am reading said start a journal! So here I am. I love the journal and it has great features. If there is anything not listed I simply place it in the notes. There are charts and statistical information if you like that type of thing. Brilliantly simple!This app is just what I was after. Entered my usual routes in minutes, log runs in seconds. Exploring alternative routes and corresponding distances from the app itself is also very nice. Good app; would like to see improvements!I'm really enjoying the app and it's straight-forward approach to logging your workouts, but I think it could be improved and more widely used with just a few upgrades. First, can you add a future scheduled workout that you can log in advance and then check off later and add the details? That would enable you to set workout goals and see them on your calendar in the future and then check them off as you complete them. Second, can you add additional exercise types, such as cycling, swimming, etc. You could then set a workout type as a default, but could select another type when you cross train. You could add up the time, distance or pace for each workout type or combine them together. That way, you can log all of your workouts in one place. WorksBeen using since 2018 and never had a reason to switch/upgrade to another app. Thanks to this app, I can review all my runs, learn that 2020 was my fastest year with most miles logged, learn that I’ve run 270 miles on my pair of Adidas, and I’m looking forward to tracking my post-injury progress now that I’m running again hopefully back to a decent mile time. My favorite appYes, calling this app your "favorite" or "the best ever" may sound a bit extreme, but of all the things I do in life, running is one of the top five and a simple, effective app to help manage that is a beautiful thing. There are many apps that let you log and track a mix of workouts whether you're doing yoga, strength training, or cycling. But this app focuses on running basics: when, where, how far, which shoes, and how long. No more Excel spreadsheets or hand-written logs. The app calculates pace too. The app is not perfect. The map feature is a but rudimentary (if you're comparing to Map My Run) however that's not a big deal for me. My running-life is simpler now thanks to this app..Version: 3.0.2

Great App, Exactly What I Was Looking ForI'm been an avid runner for years. I've tried a few other apps that are out there, this one is the best I've tried. I like the ability to export to an excel sheet or email so that I can make hard copies if I want to. Also, the auto graphing function built into the app is a great visual motivator to keep going. My only complaint is that I wish there we're save buttons after you enter data. While it saves automatically after data has been entered, this is a little confusing and hard to get used to at first. BUT, there is on change that would make the program excel to app heaven, satisfy all user expectation, and achieve the almighty five star rating...AN IMPROVED MAP UTILITY! It seems that every map I've used during the past three years has the ability to follow a road or trail when connecting two dropped pins. Nice and simple!This app is just what I wanted. It is extremely simple to use. When I come back from a run, I can enter the details quickly, without fuss. Nice functional app!!It does just what I want for a running log, e.g. Logs my runs. Easy to use. Tag system and notes work well. Tracking shoe miles is very nice thing, too. It allows pretty easy import / export of data--this is important for me. The App developer is VERY responsive and helpful even when this user was being a little dense. :) What it doesn't do: provide motivational speeches, require you to carry your phone everywhere, sell you "couch to a 35 min 5K" plan. Great tech support and Great app!I have used this app religiously for about a year on my iPod. I recently got a iPhone 5S and was having trouble transferring my data to the iPhone. Simply BrilliantDoes (nearly) everything I need. Most other similar apps focus on the GPS logging at the expense of keeping track of the runs you've done and showing different statistics for them. I have a Garmin for monitoring my runs when I'm doing them. I then transfer the details onto this app to keep them as a log of what I've done. One thing missing though is to be able to classify different types of run (long run, intervals, tempo, easy, etc) and have them show up, say, as different colours on the calendar view. Very nice appThis is a well-designed app. It doesn't try to do too much, and what it does it does very well. Distance, time, date, route, and a place for notes. Everything I want in a running log, with a beautiful layout. And what a great addition, being able to track mileage on different shoes! I didn't even know I wanted that, but it is fantastic. The only minor change I'd like to see would be having the option to toggle route tracking that automatically follows roads on the map. Just rightThis is my favorite running log app of he ones I’ve tried. It’s not as sophisticated as the other apps, which is just what I want. I don’t run with my phone or any other device. You can Also look at your Callander and see when your have ran, how far you have ran, and how long it took you to run. Great APP!!I love this app because I can now track my miles easy. I am a senior cross country and Track runner and have never tracked all the miles I've done until now. It's crazy to see I just logged 97 miles so far this month! I can see my pace as well as the total minutes I have run over the course of my summer training. Now I can tell my coach exactly how much of a base I have. Not only can I see and log everything I have accomplished I can see how much I improved too! I may not use all the tools they give me on this app but hey I am just glad I have everything I need to log my training on here. I also love adding miles after a long run, it makes me feel accomplished. This is my first ever review to write, so I guess that shows how much I love this app! The best, nimblest yet.The simple interface is great. Map a route, record it and view summarized weekly mileage. Keeping track of shoe mileage is a thoughtful touch. It only has two downsides. The map is not sophisticated enough to follow the streets, so you need to tap at every turn. This is cumbersome, especially on curvy streets/paths. Of course, you don't need to use the map to log your distance, but it is a nice convenience. Secondly, and I have it on word from the developer this is in the works for a future enhancement, it is not iCloud-capable. So I have this for my iPhone and iPad, but the two are not in sync..Version: 1.4

The Perfect Running App... For Shorter RunsLove the layout. Love tracking my shoes, and how easy it is to compare my pace/distance week to week & month to month. Very easily converts between miles and Km after the latest update. Most of all, I absolutely love having all my runs stored in one place and so easily added to my running history! In fact, I think this app would be perfect if they added two features to the mapping: 2) Currently does not allow for the "follow roads" feature I've seen elsewhere 2) There are no flags marking every mile or km. Neither of these are a big deal when you're mapping out smaller runs, but once you get into larger distances it becomes a bit of an annoyance. Hopefully, one or both of these will be added in the next update!.Version: 2.3

Great app!It's really good. Great that you can see how many days a week you have ran, tracks your shoe mileage and the graphs are fun! I wish it showed on the calendar view, what kind of runs I completed. I have tags for long run, easy, tempo, speed, hills, race, with baby in stroller - but it doesn't show then in calendar view. And in log view it shows the tags in different colors - would be great if, instead of the tags, it showed shortcuts of my tags ( LR, T,SW,H, R, EZ, B) so I would have to be guessing what each tag color represents. Also, it should show,at a glance, more than 1 line of notes. There's space for it. I might be used to to the app from runners world -it had all those things, but wasn't tracking miles correctly and didn't have shoe tracking. This is almost perfect!.Version: 3.0.1

Nicely doneA nicely done app for the basic function of logging runs. The data graphing feature is great, I just wish it graphed down to the daily level (week/month/year are supported). Simple, intuitive, easy to use. Good support as well. One more feature for the wish list: a pace field on the log screen; For those of us who run on a treadmill at a fixed pace and duration. Best Running Log, Updated Often!I never write reviews but this app is the bees knees! I'm a 2:41 marathoner and have pretty high expectations for this kind of thing. The app has a really nice aesthetic to the UI, allows you to input a run with or without using a GPS, has a very handy built in mileage log for shoes, and allows you to create mapped routes manually or using GPS. Also has nice looking graphs and charts for reviewing mileage/pace/duration data. Also syncs your data across multiple devices using the cloud if you activate the cloud in your device settings for the app. You can mark runs with multiple user-defined tags (PR, long, hilly, tempo, 5k, etc) and filter your workouts to view one or more type of workout at a time. For instance, I can select my 'race' and 'PR' tags to view all of the races I PR'd in. Or I can view all of my long runs in a list and see what I did training for my last marathon to help me prep my workouts for my next race. Another great thing is the developer frequently releases updates and improvements to the app, so you really get your money's worth. Download it now. Do it..Version: 2.2

The ability to save routes within the app and see the days I have run over 3 month period is useful. Easy and quick, track shoes tooThis ap replaced what I would jot down on a calendar. You CAN change the start of the week to any day and whether or not the ap rounds milage under settings on your phone. There's an easy drop down log feature to track multiple shoes milage (plus you can enter # miles at setup) and type of run (e.g., tempo, treadmill) that you create. Plus a space for notes (which I didn't see on map my run). I love being able to glance at the calendar to see when I ran and the graphs for seeing milage trends by week and month. My only recommendation would be to have a way to store separate forms of exercise such as my pace on a hike is much slower than my run. Great BuyThis app is far superior to having a running log book at home. It uses a clean look with an easy-entry format which can track your routes an mileage on different running shoes. It also makes graphs to track mileage, time running, and pace for each week month and year logged. Price wise this is much cheaper than buying a log book and this app does so much more! Excellent App with excellent support(please read this whole review)I use this app with both my iPhone and iPad. It had been working perfectly until January 1st 2013. I started having syncing issues with my iPhone and eventually lost all the data on my phone. Within minutes of my email to the developer he responded. Mike (the developer)proposed a solution that has gotten me 3/4 way back to where I want to be. Enough that I can actually still use the app with both devices. HE THEN FOLLOWED UP WITH ME about an hour before I wrote this posting and has been working with me to get me 100% back to where I was. Even if I don't get back 100% he gets 5 stars because: A. I have been a daily runner for over 25 years and this app has the flexibility to capture data the way I want too B. I have supported an accounting application program in every possible environment for over 25 years. I have seen it all and by far Mike is the best. GoodNice ap. simple to use. Easily worth the £1.99 I payed. Saved me spending £150 for a GPS. I use my timex ironman triathlon watch paired with this, it's all you need. Would recommend.Version: 3.0.2

Great running log.I just love this app. It covers so many details. The mileage on my different shoes, weekly ,monthly and yearly stats at a glance. Plenty of space to enter details like weather food and water consumed. Just awesome Just what I was looking for ..Version: 3.0.2

Straightforward.It's the one running app I've been able to stick with while plodding along on a treadmill at the gym. Easy to use. Uncluttered. I would only ask for a field specifically used to keep track of the estimated calories burnt with each session. For now, I'm just adding calories in the notes section..Version: 3.2

Excellent appI've been using this app for nearly two months now and I love it. Over the summer I enjoy jogging and tend to run between 2 and 5 times a week, this app helps me see my improving performance. It's easy to plot my routes on, though they are mostly off road since you can also plot on satellite maps, and I love seeing visually the parts I've been able to lengthen over the summer. The graphs available are also well designed and it's so satisfying to see my progress! I do agree with the last reviewer, some of the stats are only available in miles not KM which is irritating, but not a major drawback. One of my favourite features is being able to label runs with personalised tags - I use emojis to highlight particularly hot days ☀️ or feel good days 💪🏼 etc - you can then filter your calendar and look back at how runs with certain tags went..Version: 3.2
