✓ Almost!I had been waiting for a new kairosoft game for god knows how long and I have to say that I was pleased to see a new release. But the game itself was not as good and addictive as I had hoped. I played to about year 40 the first time around to get a feel of the game. The second play was not that exciting because I knew what was going to happen. All in all it's an okay game but unfortunately not one of kairosoft's best. Having said that, it's still better than most games on iTunes..Version: 1.0.2
✓ Love this game!!!!Even years later I still play this game over and over. I really wish they were still making games like this one and Dungeon Village and the Mall Cruise ship ones instead of all the freemium games they’re doing more of. Even though this game is older it’s still great and has lots of replay value and humor as it is a spoof on Star Trek. Very cute, very fun. I love Kairosoft Pay Once and play Forever style games. There are no micro purchases, and the various aliens, structures, items, and other things you can build make this game fun. You'll be asking questions like, "where should I place this?" and "should I upgrade weapons for explorations, or food for selling?" Think of it like roller coaster tycoon meets a mini RPG. You send a few residents with weapons (upgradable) and armor (upgradable) to fight enemies on other planets, secure alliances/tourists, and get money and research points. The game rocks. ✓ Great gameGreat game I think the way you design games is so unique and abasolutly flawless I would be so happy if you consider doing a sailing or a rugby game e you train your sailer and upgrade your boat and have different courses and cups with point series or the rugby one would be the same as the previous football one you already tried and succeeded but I think the sailing game would be really good and you could add parts like better hulls and sails etc. I deeply appreciate you reading this and I hope you take my advice and I'll always buy your games!.Version: 1.0.3
✓ Worth the wait; over too soon :-(Brilliant game; once again Kairosoft have nailed that ridiculous 'I'll just do x and then stop' factor. Got through 2 battery charges constantly playing. Sadly, I found that I have no burning desire to replay. It's not terribly easy, but all the milestones are passable in first playthrough, making motivation difficult. If I could give this 4.5 stars I would, but it's definitely not quite 5 star material, especially at full £2.49 price..Version: 1.0.2

The economic game is far less obtuse than what you'd normally expect, and presented in a way that it makes sense when optimizing. ✓ Kairosoft are AwesomeI love Kairosoft games. I dont even read reviews any more, when I see a new game I buy it immediately. Epic Astro Story doesn't disappoint, but not quite as engaging as their other games. It doesn't seem to be very challenging, and the speech windows that pop up are wayyy too frequent. When exploring, do I really want to click through 3 windows just to learn my guy found $19k ? Id rather it just appeared in the explorer bar unless it was something important. Kairosoft know how to make extremely addictive and fun games, always with an RPG element. I'd love it if they could make their interface a little slicker at times, and make it easier to manage your people. I also think its time they started developing HD games for iPad too :-).Version: 1.0.3

Non- finished sentences, stuff written over each other... Though this is a great game, I really don't enjoy the repetitive "Communications" as they're always the same. "While I was in the blabla region, I wasted your funds buying a raffle ticket and won 150K! It always happens, so much that you don't care. This one is more in the vein of Hot Springs or Venture Towns (rather than Game Dev or Grand Prix) but it is definitely better than those 2. I would rank it alongside Pocket Academy. ✓ Great game, less replay value than othersEAS is another fun game from Kairosoft. There's the "bottomless chasm" at the end of the game, but past 16F the rewards aren't that great. Not much carries over to a new game and there are no additional maps to play or much else to unlock, so replay value is much lower than all the other Kairosoft games..Version: 1.0.3

✓ One of their bestAs a massive Kairosoft fan, I will admit that a few of the recent releases such as Edo Towns and Venture towns were just a little too simple. Epic Astro Story on the other hand is just overwhelming at first - in fact the game doesn't really hold your hand too much or explain why X object is needed, but it's soon clear and in no time you'll be drowning hours of your life into developing a tourism economy for a new species of alien, or sending your inhabitants into a cave to collect loot and discover new technologies for you to develop. Unlike some of they easier games, you might find that your strategy and many hours of work were not enough and you'll find it hard to proceed due to a lack of income - although you are given a couple of cash injections to save you a the first couple of times your finances dip into the red, if you fail to turn things around it may require a brand new start. This is something I like as it provides a nice challenge and in fact actually gets much harder as the game goes on which is only the case with a few of their games. Overall the only downside like any Kairosoft game is its replay value, but since there are so many to pick from now you may find yourself coming back to existing classics whilst waiting for your next fix. Overall this one is up there with their 2 greats, Game Dev Story and Mega Mall Story, I can't score it any less than a 5/5!.Version: 1.0.2
✓ Different, but betterThis is not like Venture Towns, or Edo Towns. No, this game offers a much more action packed experience while at the same time giving the player much more to do. Yes, you still have to build a town and cater to tourists, but the fact that the map needs to be expanded via exploration gives the player a sense of place and actually gives you something to do, rather than just trying to make as much money as possible. ✓ Soo addictive and fun.I've never played any of these sim - type games from Kairosoft before so I was coming at the game completely fresh. I was really impressed by the polish of the game, and the sense of having "just one more thing to do". It's very light and fun while also encouraging you to really think about your next activity. Even failing on an away mission just makes you lose that money and you have to try again. It's a really fun game and a great way to spend a lunch break or an evening sending off your away teams, farming, and recruiting folks to your planet. Zynga could learn a lot from Kairosoft about making sim games that are fun but not just ways to extract money from you..Version: 1.0.2

✓ Amazingly FunThis is another good product done by kairosoft. I've played it for countless hours. I've also read complaints about the trees and stuff. Eventually you can get the logging ability that allows you to cut them down...so just play through and unlock the things you need. Duh. My only complaint is that once I hit the snow region more than half of my residents won't come out of their houses. I've tried everything from demolishing the houses, to sending them on missions. But after they just go back in to sleep and never come out. Maybe an update will fix that problem. With that said, it is still a good game..Version: 1.0.2

✓ Great game with minor issueI love this game! The gameplay and controls are excellent for a small platform like the iPhone. The minor issue is with the captions for the different menu items. When I click on a building like the factory, it will have a little description but longer descriptions get cut off without anyway for me to scroll down. ✓ Kairosoft!Love the game so far but I have one question. Is anyone having issues with residents not doing anything? It seems that after I make contact with the octopi I only have one or two residents working and the others just stay in their houses. All houses are connected to roads, which are connected to fields and factories. Anyone else have this issue? It's really hindering my progress if I'm not making any money..Version: 1.0.2
