ITranslate Voice for Negative User Reviews

It has gone backwardsThe previous version used to give you all the different meanings of the word in both directions. Now it chooses one. Tough luck if you happens to be the wrong one. Not happy..Version: 4.0.7

Vascillating Incorrect/Correct translations across your appsVascillating correct/incorrect translations appear frustratingly too often in your Speak app, and with every try, the translations get worse in Speak when trying English to Hebrew, yet in your other 3 iTranslate apps, translations are fine on the first try. How can that be? Don't all your apps use the same core system dictionary?.Version: 3.1.5

Why are all the release notes the same? Why are you repeating the same couple of release note over and over. Are you screwing up the app so bad that you need to hide behind these fake release notes????? Just give users the real release notes. We don’t care if it is short or boring, just as long as they reflect what changed..Version: 4.0.2

Polly G LottNot straight forward to set up.Version: 4.0.7

Doesn't understand meThe concept of the app is great but it's biggest downfall for me is that it can't understand my kiwi accent. It would be perfect if it could. I don't advise to buy if your s kiwi because it might not pick up on your accent. I now use sayhi translate as you don't need to speak and you can type what you want translated..Version: 1.1

Could be betterVery basic, database not so great otherwise can be very convenient.Version: 4.0.10

Works Well but tries to scamOnce it’s set up, the app works well but it makes setup confusing to try and get you to sign for its paid version. I accidentally bought it and am having a hard time finding how to avoid their monthly charge..Version: 4.0.9

All it says is it can’t understandTotally useless. I needed to translate a discussion in French to English and it did not capture one solitary word. Zero noise background, the presentation speakers in the video were very clear and at substantial volume. How do I cancel the trial? Other free apps could transcribe..Version: 4.0.12

No Cantonese!I set it for Cantonese but it uses Mandarin.Version: 4.0.1

Maged MatougIt’s good but sometimes is not print all what we say probably we need to write manually.Version: 4.0.9

Only in WiFi enabled areasThe app only works with WiFi so you can't use it wherever you go. Lets say you go to a foreign country. You can't use your cellphone data or you would be charged extra. Would have come in handy if it did not require WiFi.Version: 1.3

Okay for text translationThis app had promise, I was excited to use it. The speech detection is terrible, even speaking at a slow pace it gives you completely unrelated and out of context words, phrases. Cool to have to say something basic if you’re meeting someone who doesn’t have your language but definitely not at a level I’d recommend it for anything more.Version: 4.0.12

Very inconsistent and slowwwIf you are thinking of using it in China, forget it. Compared to the Mandarin to English apps available, this app is hopeless..Version: 3.1.5

First-timer 😱This app obviously exceeds its limits in plane awesomeness...but it's sometimes, kinda absolute $&@#. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you are wondering why I wrote up the top "First-timer 😱" is because this is the first amazing app that I've given only 3 stars (not very happy about doing!). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm pretty sure you have already made an app like this called (i think) itranslate (free version). It has amazing voice recognition and good translates. And let's face it, the only good thing about this app is its design and idea (WHICH I 💛 [LOL] ). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you didn't make that app, have a good look at it and compare it with yours. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To sum up, I am only 12 and I have absolutely know idea why I'm doing this, while my GF is around (TROLLOLOL)! Seyas Salut Au revoir Whateva Go away Pissoff LOL.Version: 1.1

Minus 2 stars for the “rate us” pop upI know how to rate apps and don’t need an app to show a pop-up that cannot be dismissed. If you tap on the pop-up, the app also tries to prevent you from rating it if there’s something you don’t like. It does this by taking you to an email interface instead of the App Store..Version: 4.0.9

Subscription model is sillyI would happily purchase this if it had a one time fee, I think limiting the to a monthly subscription is silly. Uninstalled and using another app which is just as good but doesn’t cost the earth..Version: 4.0.4

Carplay warning! This is a good translator but beware that if your car has carplay and you plug your phone in to charge it, this app will not work until you unplug it. While most apps are not “CarPlay” compatible, this is the only app I have found two cease functioning while CarPlay is activated. I have had difficulty getting the developers support personnel to understand that this is a bug and not the absence of a feature. If and when the bug is corrected I would give the app five stars because it does a very good job at translating in other conditions. March 21, Update: The developer continues to misunderstand that this is not a compaitiblity issue with CarPlay but that his app no longer functions when carplay is plugged in. I've given up trying convince them of that. One more try, If your car has carplay and you plug your phone in to charge it, this app won't work period. Unplug from the car and the app works..Version: 4.0.7

After usageThis app was better the first day I used it but with more sales the servers seem rubbish and don't worry very well with a 3G connection since you use it outdoors. It has to be super silent to work while you are outside it works horribly because of other peoples voices and car noise. Doesn't pick up on one word translations . Works better with a sentence.Version: 1.0

FAILING IN COMPARISON . . . IMPROVEMENT NEEDEDSo far the app has done comparably the same, if not less, for simply translating voice to text as to what both Google Translate and Microsoft Translator Apps are currently able to do, however each of those are 100% FREE and contain ZERO Adds while in use. As well, they both contain far more advanced features in many ways! And I’m very sorry, but to not have the Hebrew language as one of the supported languages in your now “essential tools” section? I’m sorry, but that is what has dropped my rating to the 2 STARS you have received. I paid for this App, and until improvements that are certainly necessary are made, that’s where my rating will remain..Version: 4.0.9

Speech translationI hope I’ve only been charged for one account I’ve tried to share it to my iPhone?.Version: 4.0.10

Pricing way to highTheir pricing model is way out of date, at these rates you could hire a translator..Version: 4.0.12

Can not translate “where”See above.Version: 4.0.9

Not accessibleDoesn’t work well w voiceover. buttons not labeled..Version: 4.0.9

CantoneseThe Cantonese language can be selected but doesn’t work, only mandarin, though it calls it Chinese Taiwan..Version: 4.0.10

POOR!This app is very unresponsive to my language. I have tried all of the different types of English languages and none of them pick up what I'm saying! You have to speak extremely loud into the microphone and it gets what I'm trying to say wrong 90% of the time! Frustrating I want my money back.Version: 3.0.5

Absolutely UselessTested this out at home for upcoming trip to Egypt. Here are some results: 'Where is the Dahab Hostel?' Became 'Where is the day have Postel' or 'Where is that they have Costco'. 'I am looking for Abu Tarek' became 'I am looking for a boom telling Nick'. 'Is this the Khan el Khalili?' became 'Is this the tunnel clearly' It seems this app is unable to deal with the non-English words in my questions. As a visitor to Egypt, virtually all my translation requirements will be enquires involving local place names or people, rendering this app beyond useless. Don't waste your money. If I could give zero stars for this I would..Version: 3.0.5

Rubbish doest work, waste of moneyRubbish don’t waste your time.Version: 3.1.5

Poor ability to translate in real timeI tried using this app to translate German to English in real time. It would listen to entire 1 minute of conversation and come back detecting only one word...like eins (a), und (and), or frau (woman or Mrs). This app is useless for detecting a conversation. There is no “Manage Subscriptions” link in the settings (and it doesn't show up on my managed apps in iTunes so now I have to go hunt down how to unsubscribe so my 3-day free trial doesn’t turn into a $3.99/mth hit..Version: 4.0.9

DisappointedI find this app lacking intuitiveness. Toggling from voice to written translation can be difficult and the app did not work consistently in the same manner over time (most difficult in attempting to work with written translations). The speak and translate part did work much better. Very good at understanding dictation and making the translation. If you wish to make translations writing instead of talking, find another app..Version: 3.1.5

Works but will not be used due to flawIt works pretty well. Will not be using this though because switching between two languages that are being actively used, is not as simple and fast as tapping a button to switch between them. Example: speaking in French and output in German. Will then have to do many steps to switch to speaking in German and outputting in French. Should just be one button that does this for you like on other translators..Version: 4.0.11

IPod microphone?Hey guys, the app is superb on the iPhone. It is capable of translating long phrases with decent accuracy. However, when I speak languages that are not my mother tongue, it occasionally does not pick it up. Nonetheless, it is a good app. On the IPod, it is the opposite. The microphone does not pick up much and the sentences are left half completed. TERRIBLE ON IPOD! If u have an IPod and are planning to get this app for it, I would think before u do. But, it is not my decision and feel free to buy it if u wish. Anyways, Happy translating :).Version: 1.1

Temps de réponseLe temps de traduction vocale est lent. Ça ne permet pas d’avoir une discussion plus rapide avec l’autre. La traduction écrite n’est pas si exacte. 😕.Version: 4.0.9

What I thinkI think it's good ! I need to try it on someone so really until then I don't know.Version: 3.1.5

Translate app does not workThis app is completely useless in chile South America..Version: 3.1.5

Should have tried the free version first.I speak fluent English and Korean. This does NOT translate the meaning. It randomly puts words together in its own syntax. The best use of this would be to learn some words... though I've my dictionary.... Hate these geeks who quickly whip up these Apps without customer service, warranty or standard..Version: 3.1.5

Doesn't workOne essential feature is missing from this that completely destroys the option to do conversations. This feature is to press and hold while someone is talking. Without that the recording randomly stops I'd the person isn't talking loud enough. Shame 🤷‍♂️.Version: 4.0.12

Needs Canadian EnglishAll around good app but it seriously needs a Canadian English accent choice. It hardly ever gets what I'm saying right and for that it deserves no more then 3 stars..Version: 1.3

Not bad ... but there's better one out thereThe single-language (English and .... Spanish, for example) translator/dictionaries are much better at what they do, and are less expensive or free. This one is eight dollars but gives you many idioms in one app. ; nice if you're traveling through Europe for example. Its main voice translation competitor right now is Speak & Translate ... but it's a hefty twenty bucks! S & T is slightly superior in several areas, like voice volume for instance. Yes, that's very important in a product like this because it's often being used in noisy environments. and since you're mostly listening (or asking the OTHER person to listen) to a foreign jumble of syllables, you want a higher degree of sharpness & clarity & volume coming from your tiny little smartphone speaker. The text-only version of iTranslate is free and works quite well, so you might want to check that out first before spending the $8 for the voice version..Version: 3.1.5

F en sucksF en sucks Doesn't work.Version: 4.0.5

Poor customer support responseI have three messages to support and have received mo response. This app sometimes takes 2 to 4 minutes to respond. Very frustrating when trying to have a conversation. Works terrible when traveling in a vehicle even with a LTE connection. I have been using this app for 4 months now in Mexico. Sometimes it works great..Version: 4.0.8

Great but too fastI love it but it would be much more practical if you could either slow the translation down or have it speak as slow or fast as you speak.Version: 1.0

DisappointingWe got sucked in to purchasing this, it's not good at all .. the translations for Japanese are poor. Don't waste your money!!! Now the apps disappeared off my phone and I can only open it from the iTunes Store? Why? What a scam.Version: 4.0.2

Its pretty bad. It's not great. It doesn't pick up what I'm saying 70% of the time... I have to say something before I actually can type something. There is no 'type' button anywhere. It isn't clear at all, I really only use it for typing stuff in then asking my french teacher how to pronounce it so... Not useful for pronunciation at all..Version: 1.3

Poor first impression1 I seem to have subscribed to a pro version although I want only the free trial and I have a sense I will be charged an annual fee after 30 days but this is not clear and is sneaky if so. It adds up to me wanting more transparency in this app for a newcomer about what the deal is. 2. The first thing I want to do is stop the app making a beep sound when I press the flag button to begin to speak to the äpp and then when i stop. I can't find anywhere to turn this off. --- When i went to cancel my subscription I discovered I had somehow already paid £9.99 for a trial that ends within a week. I don't know how that happened - it might be an issue with iTunes. I would not knowingly have agreed to that. I thought I was getting a free trial. --- I've since seen this subscription message from apple. You will not be charged for your free trial. Once it ends, your subscription will renew at £9.99 unless you cancel by 05 May 2018..Version: 4.0.7

Lithuanian requiredNo Lithuanian translation.Version: 4.0.9

Lol sucksI said hello and it said marshmallow I said good night it said let’s fight.Version: 4.0.12

Great app BUT...TIP: This app runs well for me now but the first few times It would not work.. I thought there was an issue with the app itself but after testing it I realised the microphone was being restricted from the iPad cover... Make sure you speak clearly and reasonably close to the microphone. Then it works very well. Try to break sentences up as long sentences don't translate so well. Can't wait for up coming updates.... Hope it will improve :).Version: 2.4.1

😢❤️I really like the old version before the update today because it would let you tap the speech button not only on English but on Japanese as well but now it treats it as a whole and doesn’t give you that option. I think it’s cool you added a phrasebook but I feel most people use this app to test their own speech in another language and play it back to see if it sounds similar and not as a quick handbook was predetermined phrases. Most people would say just say what you need to say in English and it will translate it through another language but sometimes that’s not the truth is it’ll translate it differently that’s why I really appreciated the button where you could say something in a foreign language and replay it back in the foreign language not your native language..Version: 4.0

What the heck?I actually purchased this app for the offline mode but now it errors and needs connection! What? Are you liars?.Version: 3.1.5

Really disappointedI paid for this app so I could use it offline whilst in China. It didn't work at all. Thank goodness Google Translate worked as we would've been really stuck..Version: 3.1.5

Might work?Subscription only..Version: 4.0.12

I deleted it.Not because its an atrociously bad app cos It's a good concept but seriously the app doesn't even register half the words you say to it. I was playing around with it to see if it would pick up a couple of simple words as I'm multilingual but it can't pick up a simple 'uno' or 'petit'. I found that reaaaally annoying. But at least you could do the typing thing instead. I appreciated that. Enjoy the use of my 99c because truthfully I could have used it on something *better*..Version: 1.1

App was Very Poor in KievApp was almost worthless in Kiev, Ukraine as well as Google Translate. When I tried to use it by translating English to Russian, the Russians Told me through a human translator that the translations were sloppy at best. A number of the translated words did not convey the meaning I was trying to have translated, I.e., the Russian translation was NOT what I wanted translated. It got to the point that one of the Russian women would no longer even listen nor look at any translation app I had. Could not use it any longer. Totally unreliable..Version: 3.1.5

What?Itranslate pro 12.99 itranslate pro 49.99 No explanation..Version: 4.0.9

Not worth itThis app seemed promising and I must commend the accuracy of the language, however, it’s functionality is terrible and untrustworthy. I’m constantly having to restart the app to continue a conversation. Not worth the £5 price tag.Version: 4.0.11

Once was goodSince the last update you cannot paste text into itranlate. Not sure why but now it is of limited use to me..Version: 2.3

Voice translatorI'm not sure yet how accurate it is so it's a bit early for me to rate it...I only bought this app a couple of days ago and I haven't had much chance to practice on my Polish friends...but it does seem quite easy to use..Version: 3.1.5

ReviewIt's quite good but it sometimes hears incorrectly..Version: 3.1.5

It’s okI want it in Ukraine.Version: 4.0.12

CancelRubbish cancel this app.Version: 4.0.10

Offline disappointmentIt is a shame that no offline options as many countries is difficult to be online all times.Version: 4.0.9

Charges you for what it does not doI have worked in video and sound for over 30 years. There is no language that I have played back for this application, including close-microphone ADR sound that this application could translate. I even tried it on my Spanish-speaking neighbor, a native Colombian who speaks flawless Spanish. I speak both Spanish and English. I could hear and understand my neighbor. iTranslate did not hear or understand her at all. We’re not talking CarPlay here. Either there is something completely wrong with how I was trying to use the app, or there is something non-functioning in the app. The iTunes Store charged me for a two-month subscription. The app offers iTranslate Pro for a year. But, if the developers really want to sell this app, I recommend that it not charge anyone until there has been at least one successful translation. I spent a good four hours trying to get one. Not recommended..Version: 4.0.8
