✓ ???Sorry, I don't get this? You can choose an English accent and you are then presented with 'a'. We don't teach the children alphabet names in England, we teach phonics, so no use. I tried it and was confused (instructions are poor), nobody told me not to hit the pig!.Version: 1.2
✓ Shows promise but needs more developmentWe use Reading Eggs so were really excited to see the app however this quickly turned to disappointment. Main issues are: Too repetitive - every level of every letter is the same. the child has to pick the word 25 times with no real reward at the end. Getting it wrong gives a better reward than getting the correct answer. My son loves the breaking eggs, frying pans etc so gets it wrong on purpose. As they progress towards 25 swipes the speed of the eggs is too fast to read - I can't do it..Version: 1.1

✓ Won't hold their interestThe concept is good but this will not hold the interest of 3-4 years olds. The success rate is poor. There are too many interesting diversions such as the flying pig and a smiley egg, when you are only supposed to hit 'a'! Who wants 'a' when the graphics of other things are so much better? 'a' is a low interest word too. The eggs fly in every direction, not just the reading direction. They go too fast at times. I could hardly read them when they got too fast and small. The same game of swipe the egg for 25 words and for 25 levels, just doesn't attract my 5 year olds attention. ✓ Options for more playersI will not be purchasing any more reading eggs apps until they offer multiplayer logins for their apps. There are not many who have just 1 child. ✓ Basically boringLike many other reviewers have said this is basically boring. It is more interesting to get it wrong than it is to get it right and it is too slow to get through the levels. We have never got past "a" because we got bored. I expected more from reading eggs..Version: 1.1
✓ Good idea, but needs tweakingBasic idea is good, but there are some problems with execution. Although the game talks about "swiping" the eggs, you only need to tap them. Good job too, as towards the end of a level the eggs move so fast that you can't even read the words on the eggs, let alone swipe them. Each level is too long and repetitive, and it's not clear when you've reached the level's goal. It's also not that clear which items are bonus items, and which are "do not tap" items. Another small issue: the voiceover talks about "clicking" things when it means "tapping". Like I say, the idea is great, but the game needs tweaking to make it more playable and fun. ✓ Great app, needs to be multi-profileMy 5 year old son loves this app. I would buy the full version if I knew that I could set it up for each of my kids. This version only allows for one person, would be heaps better if I could add another profile (or more). Otherwise I would have given this a much higher rating. She is 5 and about to start kinder and loves learning but each level on this goes a little too long an she starts to get bored. ✓ Not very inspiring.I like Reading Eggs and I was excited when I read they had launched an app. Reading Eggs is probably suitable for children from about three and a half but the app would be more suited to two, three and four year olds. I think that each word is featured for too long and the game is too 'samey' throughout. It is not exciting when the eggs start coming faster. It is more annoying than fun. Don't let the app put you off Reading Eggs, which is a great website..Version: 1.1

✓ Kids lose interestI really like this app but, the levels take SO long the kids lose interest. The delay between the words we are looking for, coupled with their infrequency, meant that no one could be bothered to wait for the next level and my son found it more fun to hit the incorrect objects / words just to have something happen. The competition is Endless Reading, which does not have an as developmentally appropriate word list and is pricey, but my son wants to play it - and will keep playing it. ✓ Two major flawsThis app could be great, but my nearly 5yo boys are having too much fun getting it wrong, and that is justifiable, nothing happens if they get it right! You guys should make the eggs splatter if they get it right!!! Other thing, the pace of the game is too boring, there's way too many wrong letters / words popping up between the right words, it is too easy for kids to lose interest waiting for the right words to pop up. Change this two flaws and you'll have a great app on hands. As it is right now, it is not worth buying it, to the contrary, it should be avoided.
