✓ One major flaw: PDFs from other apps disappearI opened a pdf from Gmail, “copied to PDFMax” and happily started reading and editing/commenting for over an hour. ✓ Bookmarks not savedWhen opening pdf from Dropbox any bookmarks that were already saved using Adobe Acrobat appear in the bookmark pane. ✓ Needs improvements for IOSI’ve used this app for a long time and it’s worked ok on my IPad however the IPhone it crashes! ✓ Horrible experienceThis app used to be the best in the market. I bought all the available versions: pro, premium, the one with the infinite sign. All of a sudden after an update my text to speech was deactivated. I tried to contact them multiple times via email and Facebook (the only available channels) with no reply at all. I had the lifetime access according to my past purchases, but it does not restore in-app purchases with my iCloud. What a disrespect! Currently I am using the usd 19,90 pdf reader pro, which I recommend for those who are in the same situation looking for an alternate app after this one passed away. ✓ WorstI’ve been using PDF Max since 2014, with no problems, then they released Pro features, so I upgraded and paid to get Pro features on 2017. With the resent updates this App is gone to basic features, now to get back the Pro features, the App says I have to go Premium with a monthly subscription or a Pro package for $4.99. Why should We pay again for features that we had paid before, is not fair. I can understand that we should pay for newer additional features, but why should we go back to basic features again on each update that they release? I think this is not right. ✓ Updates have rendered app uselessApparently there has been an update that forces the user to purchase a subscription in order to flatten and save a form once it is complete. ✓ PDF Max 3 Pro "upgrades" to the Free VersionI like using this software, so much so that I upgraded to the Pro version last May. However when I updated it to V.4 this time round, it downgraded to the Free version. So if I wanted the Pro version I would have to pay again. Obviously, having paid for the Pro version less than 8 months ago, I am not prepared to pay yet again so soon afterwards. ✓ Pencil support (2nd gen)I was using PDF Max Pre on 12.9 IPad Pro (2018) but very poor performance of pencil. It was lagging a lot that it was skipping while writing. It was first impression that my pencil does not work properly. But pencil was working so good on all other in built apps. I also went to Apple store to check if any internal issue but all was ok. ✓ AnnoyingWhen annotating, the pen tool will suddenly cease to draw despite being selected, so you have to click done, open the sidebar and selected it again, which is annoying and time consuming as this happens regularly. ✓ What HappenedCome on guys get your act together. What’s going on with this app. It’s become a joke and a waste of my time. For all the time I’ve spent today to perform simple operates and update this review I should have been look for a replacement. It’s been a month let’s get this app back to the quality it once was! This app has been great for years but this last update is causing files to crash. I use the pen tool and every time I go back to the file I’ve marked-up I get a message “cannot open file.” This also happens when I remove a page from a file. Once I get this message the file cannot be deleted, I get a “File does not exist” message. So now I have all these files that will not open and a once very good “go to” app for my pdf’s that is not working. ✓ Two major flaws this version 😓1. Crashes The app crashes often if you annotate a lot (which is what I always do when I read ebooks). And sometimes after a crash it messes up my bookmarks, book outlines and erases some annotations. I've tried both saving method (safe/slow and fast). (Oh one time I couldn't delete some books. An error came up. I had to use extreme measures) 2. The TTS (reading out loud) feature used to work but now it only pronounces every documents with the Japanese voice. (My iPad is set in Japanese, iOS 9). I learn multiple languages and this is frustrating. Other than that it's good. I recently upgraded to a new iPad and when I tried to restore the purchase, I get an ‘in app purchase not found’ message. ✓ Signature needs improvementIt ok for markup. Crashes sometimes. Signatures was good in the older version, not it,s a small signature panel, and the signature appears small. Also it does not maintain colour of ink or thickness. Developer never fixed anything. Many revisions, but developer still did not fix the "maintains colour and thickness settings". It is not a big request to fix this big. Nov. 2013-signatures not getting saved.
