The quests get harder as you level up and you end up missing out. Why make it harder you lose interest when you know your not going to make it but spent ages getting to a higher level. Make it easier give people a chance to get somewhere. It is a great game. There are beasts that you kill to get things but at times you have too keep doing the same thing for one to show..Version: 2.0

Really disappointed that it isn't snowy for winter like its sister game Farm story especially when it's marketed for winter. ✓ Almost excellentI really enjoy this game, but the special projects are very difficult to complete. For example in the last game I did, you required 15 pieces of wool from the rabbit family to continue to the next level. However, it took 4 hours to recharge the rabbits. Far too long. Also whenever it is necessary to receive items from other game players it can take up to 4 days to complete, therefore making the final reward completely not possible. I like the game but during special events, please make the rewards easier to achieve. Could you also please consider bringing back some of the challenges so that they can be completed from where was left off last time..Version: 2.3.6

✓ I really enjoy playing this gameI’ve been playing for years and I really like playing Storm 8 games because they create interesting characters, cute characters, fun new tasks etc. I have been saving for an apple tree for such a long time but something weird happened today and I accidentally pushed an add time button TWICE which used up my gems so I sent them a message but I just went on and it happened AGAIN! I went from 78 gems to like 18. I switched the game off every time right after realizing as it was in process mode but it sucked up all my hard earned gems. I wish that adding time button had a two step process that had the button in different places for when we get into tapping these accidents weren’t so easy to make when we are trying to pummel a monster. I guess I get pretty into it! Thank you guys for creating a game that I continue to want to play even when I’m irritated lol..Version: 2.3.6

✓ My fave game for yearsI love this game and have played it for years. The artwork, seasonal events, community spirit, and fun gameplay cannot be rivaled. I played for two years without spending any actual money and you never have to for it to be fun. I now occasionally spend $5 here or there every few months to buy some gems but again, you don't have to. Storm 8 is amazing and I'm grateful to them for making such a fun game. They send little in game gifts and messages and launch leaderboard challenges and seasonal decor and things to do. There's always something new and something to make you feel connected. The castle story forum is great, helpful, hilarious players from all over-Download it and stick with it, it gets more and more fun as you level up..Version: 2.3.3

✓ They should confirm with you before using gemsI do like this pass time game, but a LOTS of time while using my energy I will touch another object that is not ready and it will use my gems to make it ready, before I realize my gems gone that I've saving to do something else😡 very frustrating especially if you're at work and just clicking to collect coins and accidentally use gems if it's not time to collect. They should be a pop up saying " are you sure you want to use gems to speed it up" and then when we have (like every 2weeks) that goal to do and get energy, they say it expire 2pm and then no think I have time to do it before that time they say it's expire 😡. I got so upset like twice this happened to me . I even send them a email but no response and this is like 2 months. Still play, but will not make no more purchase. ✓ Great Game - Some problems need resolvingThis is a great game that I’ve been playing almost from it starting, but, it does have some long standing problems that need resolving. The main one being the Gem Traps! I have lost hundreds of gems to these, as have my friends, and from reading the reviews, so have many more. Definitely NOT a fair way to obtain our hard earned gems! Inventory - mine is full to overflowing with unwanted items. We need a way to delete things we do not need because they slow the game down. Recent quests are not only taking far too much time and energy, but the prizes are definitely not worth the effort. Please, not only listen to what we are saying, but act on it. ✓ Ask twice before spending gemsThis game is great and I love it. I haven’t had any problems with it the entire time I’ve had it, and I’ve had it for a while. I only wish they would fix two things: 1. Make it to where it always asks twice before spending gems. I have no idea how many times I’ve accidentally spent gems when I didn’t want or need to. It actually just happened to me and it’s the whole reason I’m writing this review. I don’t even have enough gems to buy stuff I actually want because of this. 2. Please make the waiting time for the energy shorter or give us more energy to start with. It takes a long long time for it to be at full energy again, and I’ll get super bored waiting for it. ✓ More!Hello! I’ve been playing a very long time! I’ve hit level 50 on two different games. Unfortunately the first game I was unable to get it after my Ipad died and I had to get another. Castle Story was the only game I couldn’t get back. So I started anew. What I think would be nice is being able to gift some different items. Example - more items to choose to gift. I would love to see storm water as one choice since there are so many things that require it and it’s hard to get enough for anything. Maybe raise the energy to at least 40.I still wish I could get my original game back. Well it’s true all true lol the game resets you have to sign out of game when done don’t keep it on idol , always close out the game .It make things much better trust me , I have been with this game for 11 years . I lost a few accounts and had to start completely over again always make sure you have a Facebook account so you can’t lose your game I lost 2 games lol I still still stop bye and visit them . ✓ Played for 10 years!Update to my review. I have played Castle Story for almost 10 years! Have grown my kingdom to be massive! There was a major issue of the game not loading the larger older kingdoms, but they fixed it and I am back to being a happy player! They also gave a special gift, a beautiful blue fairy, named Spiritwind. They do give special gifts a few times per year for playing a long time, or when there has been a bug in the game. The details of the graphics and creative stories are amazing! I gladly spend a small amount of money each month but you do not have to, you can earn and even create gems to help speed you up or purchase special items. The time away from the game until the fix was in place was SO hard, I am truly addicted to this game!.Version: 2.3.5
✓ Castle StoryI’ve been playing this game regularly for many years, and for the most part, it remains my favorite game. One I play regularly. I’ve even created a Facebook group for members who want a quick way to ask questions, share stories and when needed, grumble about perceived issues. It’s grown to 240 members (Not a huge number, I know. It’s growing but is still small enough that you can usually get your questions addressed and not feel lost trying to find what you want to know from the Forums. That said, we, as a group would love to see more shortcuts to expanding our Kingdoms, be it a short-term reduction in the amount of Trade Tickets or Expansion Tickets needed to produce Expansion or the much needed Explorers Permits, or the time taken to create them. Our kingdoms have opened up in huge ways, which is awesome, a little help from time to time in expanding, we’ve agreed, would be a really nice incentive to play more each day! ✓ Castle StoryIt is great to play. Hard to keep up with the limited time quests. Due to time restraints time runs out before quests are completed. I was wondering whether they could be put back as normal quests so that they can be finished. It does become disheartening when quests are started and you want to finish them and you can not because you have run out of time. I love to play when my time permits. Also energy limits are making it harder to play for any descent length of time. ✓ Great for awhileThis game is free to download and play. Early on you can do a lot without spending money and enjoy it. Then you start to get better and look forward to new challenges. The problem is most challenges are timed and in order to complete within the timeframe allotted you either have to play the game on and off all day long or spend money to speed things up. Most people work and can’t play all day so spending money either makes it fun for you or you become frustrated because it’s suppose to be a free game. Nothing is free. The challenges are creative and fun, until they include tasks that require you to wait 4-6 hours in between plays, or spend money to speed it up..Version: 2.3.2

✓ Warning: this game will steal your life. 😂For a player who prefers cooperation over conquest, Castle Story is a great game. It has more going for it than the regular city building game & because of that, it’s as easy or as complex to play as the player wishes it to be. You don’t need to pay to play, but thanks to the limited time events, the pressure to succeed, or endure a wasted effort, is increased. Much money can be spent so best keep the credit card handy, or locked away. The graphics are simplistically beautiful & the story emphasis on fantasy over reality, provides a nice escape from all the hard core war games & reality focused simulations that are out there. I’d go as far to say that Castle Story strikes a nice balance between appealing to male & female players. It’s a very playable game that is simple to start & keeps the player interested along the way, with regular rewards & an overall rewarding kingdom development trajectory. I give it 4 stars out of 5 due to the high playability & positive feeling of assisting players & being assisted, with a markdown only due to the obvious intent to elicit micro transactions. Overall, I’d recommend Castle Story to any strategic or analytical type who also enjoys an imaginative fantasy storyline..Version: 2.3.2

You never have enough energy (you have to wait for it to regenerate over time or buy it) or enough “materials,” so this game can teach you patience if that is something you struggle with. The problem with this game is that it is owned by Storm8, which is an incompetent business. They have zero idea how to run a business. The game and other games by this company have many glitches that have existed for years and never been fixed. They either don’t know how to fix it or just don’t care. They also have a forum that players can access to get and share information. The problem is that they don’t allow players to openly discuss problems, glitches, or complaints. They run the forums with an iron fist and don’t allow you to question them. If you question, you get banned. ✓ So magical to play, however..It’s a really great game! Every time you unlock something it shows you to a magical majestic area with pink waterfalls and whatever else. It reminds me a lot of the movie “bridge to terabithia” where they showed creatures and whatnot, the game is kind of like that and I enjoy it! I love seeing other sides of the forest. However the games a ripoff about money, gems, energy. I don’t understand why we are limited to energy when we have so many buildings to collect from. On top of that the requirements to unlock more land are more ridiculous each time you move more and more towards better “land” if I’m making sense. Like more towards the other creatures that come with land. The royal buildings are insanely expensive as well. ✓ Love Castle StoryI've been playing every day for nearly 4 years now. It's my favourite game. I especially like that we can 'talk' directly to our neighbours in real time. In the beginning it was really hard to complete events, but I persisted for about a year and now mostly finish with several days to spare & I have never paid real money to do so. I rarely use gems to speed things up. I work full time, but mostly can find a minute or two for 2 hourly energy collections during events. The events are somewhat repetitive in the requirements but that's ok. I hate leaderboard events but now it's combined with monster hunts I can ignore it. ✓ Good but not the bestYou need patience with this game folks. If I’m honest I love it, it’s great fun and a good chill out game for me. But, here we go, I’ve had to learn to have some big old patience. I work full time so the events are unreachable for me to finish. You really get nothing from the developers of this game, I mean you have to spend 75 gems to get a reward of 8. Or 40 energy to get 10 back. You only get limited (40 subject to level) energy for 3 hours and you not only got a million resources you need to collect, they limit your buildings to 2 which is no good when you to make a million things needed for the events as well as general use or tasks. The only success & speed you have is by buying gems and even then you pay a fortune for a few hundred which can only buy a animal that gives you “extra energy” (and that’s 6 energy every day). How many gems is reasonable money to spend in one week? In the old days you could buy a computer game for £30 and expect to complete it. Overall Storm 8, you’re unreasonable and expect the earth from your players. Sadly I’m hooked on this game, despite being off and on all the time. For as long as I keep the patience and stay cool, I’ll carry on loving to hate it or maybe hate to love, playing this game….Version: 2.3.3

I still play it compulsively. I’m quite proud of my kingdom and its Flying Steampunk Raccoon. This is an energy-based Castle Building/Adventure Game. Your character, who shall be referred to by everyone as “Ruler,” no matter what you name them, awakens in the Glimmering Forest and encounters a melodramatic antagonist, Baron Pfeffernot. The Ruler’s goal is to build their kingdom while uncovering their mysterious past. They make friends with other characters, such as Ivy the Potion-maker and Old Thomas the Scholar, through expanding the Kingdom and completing quests. Many of the recent complaints deal with timed optional side-quests. These *are* becoming difficult to compete for free. The last one involved using great quantities of a rare item (gold nuggets) to win the “adventuring prize” associated with the side quest. It’s still an enjoyable game, and you can play it around kids without any concerns over content. And there’s a Flying Steampunk Raccoon..Version: 2.3.2

While the energy tap at 40 can be limiting, this just means that players have to think and plan before they use their energy. I’ve spent more money on this game than I would care to admit, usually out of frustration when trying to complete a quest, but I think it’s possible to level-up even without paying a lot for gems/coins. I recommend leveling your buildings up regularly, and checking in to play every 2-4 hours (each time your energy refills). I recommend for anyone who enjoys castle fantasy and city-building..Version: 2.2

✓ Years to get expansionsI’ve been playing for over 10 years now I’m still addicted but mainly due to having played so long I must continue my main bugbear is spending gems by accident surely an are you sure feature could be added then it takes an age to get an expansion I’ve done my maths and with the amount of trade tickets based on mr getting around 3-4 a day it will take me another 13-14 years to get the expansions already on my lands!!!! The events are repetitive you waste time on them at the start then leave them as you’ll never get time to finish them before it ends. ✓ Castle StoryI love this game I have been playing it for years, have a few suggestions 1. It’s too easy to spend gems accidentally. I am sure you could have an “are you sure?” Question 2. The inventory has sub sections, but nothing is ever in the other sections. Stuff from timed events stay in the inventory and you never get to use them. Could do with a way of automatically deleting or giving players the option to delete. 3. Timed events are no good if you work and can only play twice a day at most. Love the longer events and the monster ones that roll on. Enjoyed the double trade ticket event. 4. Trade tickets take ages to obtain and expansion is a little too slow. 5. Been playing that long i have some items that i have no idea what they can produce/drop. I know that in the menu you suggest what they could but it would be great if you had a list somewhere if you were looking for something, i to be honest don’t have a clue what some of the items i have do.Version: 2.3.0

However, I got a new iphone XR and this is the ONLY app/game that didn’t transfer over the data from my iPhone 6, therefore resulting in me being forced to start a completely new game... not ok. Also, again I still love this game, the prizes in the Barons tent are close to impossible to get. I’m trying to save my gems to get the cabbage hut but that’s near impossible also. HOWEVER, I see the same comments as I am going to raise. Too easy to accidentally spend gems. Other games give you a prompt, so that you can cancel if necessary. I’ve lost hundreds that way. ALSO, I too am frustrated by hardly ever being able to finish a quest. It isn’t helped by the fact that there are times when I can’t get access to the game supposedly because I’m not connected to the Internet, even though I am! FINALLY, why do we have to store so much stuff when a quest ends. I have over 400 items in my inventory because we can’t get rid of buildings etc that we won’t need again and I’m sure that can’t help the gameplay.
