✓ Castle StoryThis game was fun several years ago. Now I do not like the game due to the facts I do not get enough energy to complete any task listed. You have put items out there to complete but yet there are no ways to complete any of them due to no energy and so many hoops to jump through just to get a simple task complete. I also get a chance to receive free items each day yet I can only get like 1000 coins. How do you expect anyone to complete anything with minimal items received? I would not recommend this game to anyone. How nice it would be to go back in time and play this game when it was fun. I refuse to spend money just to be stuck out in the game and it cost me hundreds of dollars to have incomplete items in my game that I can not even put in storage to keep it from being a eye sore in the game. Bad game to try and recommend to anyone!!!.Version: 2.3.3
✓ Fine but.....I like the game a lot but there should give more energy to play..not where you have to earn the energy or buy it....and I don’t like the tent you can take that away....to me it’s useless..I will not buy cabbages to get prizes.....also when I have purchased gems there have been a couple times that gems have gone missing and I have contacted support about it and they say I used it to example 80 gems for one gold nugget I WOULD NEVER SPEND 80gems on one piece...But I felt it was a waste of my time to argue with them so I let it go.....I also lost a huge amount of coins which I have no idea what happened to them...I had $79,400 when I went to bed that night and when I went into the game the next day I only had $23,400 and I have no idea what happened to my coins....Things like this are really FRUSTRATING...my main issue though is the energy they should give more energy and I have bought a couple things that will help with energy but it takes time......I feel like I sit and wait for my energy to replenish most of the day they should give 100 energy at a time so you feel like you are getting somewhere in the game..ESPECIALLY when you have things popping up and you have to battle them that use your energy and all you get back in return is maybe 2-3 energy....Version: 2.3.0
✓ One of My Favorite Games but…I love this game. I’ve been playing it since it came out but it reset when I was signed out of my account so a few years ago, I had to start from scratch. That’s fine but everyone (from a few years ago!) is right. There’s so many flaws, including these stupid quests! You can only get so far then they stonewall you. At this very second, I’m on part 5 I think for this Goldilocks quest and I need to defeat two skunkupines but only one showed up. I keep battling the boars that show up but no skunkupine shows up; just another boar, which takes 8 energy. I barely have enough energy to do other things and I have 40 because I’m on level 48, I think. The point is, I’m thinking of deleting this game or at least not playing any quests. This isn’t the first time I’ve complained about the game and gotten nowhere. If you’re thinking of downloading, be forewarned..Version: 2.3.3
✓ OkOnce i realized I'll never earn the goals and gave up trying, it is more enjoyable. I dislike the tasks because they are just the same thing over and over just increasing how many you need to do of a specific thing. When I give it my best effort, I still can't get the prize. NEVER HAVE! Plus the monsters! No matter what monsters I need to accomplish a goal, I get all the other ones! And I often have to tap something way too many times to get the requested item. So ignoring that and working toward expanding makes it more fun. Except the ones that require that new permit. I'll never expand those. ✓ Trying hardI'm really trying to get into this game, but it's kinda hard to. It loads really slow, way toooo many challenges at the beginning with crazy time limits, half the time the extra rewards for watching a video you don't get because the video fails to load. Lots of bugs need to be worked out and I really don't like to a set limit of actions I can do, I just want to play a game in the small amount of time I have off and on during my day. Hope it gets better or I can't see my self keeping the game. Plus some of the challenges require you to buy things with gems, you usually have to buy those with real money because the amount of gems you need is such a large amount. The coin reward for watching a video, it says a thousand, you only get one coin. Getting required items for challenges, forget it, doesn't happen. ✓ Hardly Playable!!I've been playing this game a very loooong time (like 6yrs!!!) it used to be fun NOT anymore! You will NEVER have enough energy to collect all your items or complete quests! It's not like ppl have loads of time to play these games 24/7 (which you would have to be on this one all day every day to complete anything); So NEVER EVER having enough energy to collect all my animals, crops, flowers, buildings, fight monsters, grow aaand then cut down trees, crush rocks, make products (and collect them), upgrade buildings, advance the story, and then complete the new quests with even more unattainable requirements with unrealistic time limits, is absolutely completely FRUSTRATING IRRITATING AND AGGRAVATING!!! 😤😡 I'm at level 50 (top level u can get and top out at only 40 energy) and can't even finish these quests, can't even imagine if you were a new player. DO NOT pay for energy or gems the cost is outrageous and still not even worth it (won’t get you any further or closer to completing quests)! Let alone the gems it costs to get more energy in the store is absolutely ridiculous! Also, take into account, that I have 22 Alicorns and my 2 schools (completely upgraded) for extra energy and I still NEVER EVER EVER EVER have enough to accomplish what I need!! Ugh & Grrrrr, all the time! 😡😤😡😤😡 I'll change my rating when the developers decide to FINALLY make things more reasonable and attainable..Version: 2.1
✓ The idea is goodThis game is expensive to play. Having reached a high level after 2 1/2 yrs of playing, there are no incentives or rewards in acknowledgements of score, points or rewards. Challenges that have been worked hard for are able to be purchased by new players at the market. The top level is 50! Have been on that now for 1 1/2 yrs approx. ✓ Recent updatesI love this game but since the update its been quite annoying. Game play is slow and keeps freezing or even shuting itself down causing me to lose progress i have made at times. I have lost a heap of gems due to the game freezing as im trying to do things, i try to do one thing and it ends up speeding up workshops costing me gems i didn't want to spend. ✓ Love this gameI once lost my account when I switched phones. I was so upset because I had spent so much money on castle story and loved playing it. The support team was amazing and helped me get my account back. Anytime I have ever had an issue they have always been quick to respond and help me get my issue resolved. The most polite support I’ve ever dealt with. Update When are you going to update the game so the glitches stop? I loved this game but you can never finish timed quests and it glitches and takes away unlimited 10 minute play so you end up only getting half of what u should. You email support and they say nothing is wrong. They haven’t updated the game in 7 months. Do they even care about the game anymore?.Version: 2.3.6
✓ Fun gameI’ve updated this review on September 5, 2022. They seem to finally have fixed the login issues for most longtime players about a week or so ago. I am still not giving it 4 or 5 stars because I’m waiting for a few more weeks to see if the issue is indeed fixed (especially when the next storybook-type event rolls out as it was one of the most problematic). The game is fun and challenging. Events sometimes don’t take into account that players have lives though. There is a good number of challenges and events. However one thing that really bugs me is sometimes it’s not responsive to my taps and I have to double tap which causes me to accidentally use the purple gems. ✓ Neighbors!!!!!One of the goals of the game is to get neighbors and visit them however you are only able to gift 3 neighbors a day,WHY! Level 16 and still hv that issue. Have played your other games n not had that issue. ✓ Disappointed just like everyone elseI’ve been playing this game for a long time also and just like everyone else states there is never enough energy to complete more than half of the tasks. Now, the latest glitch in the game is that you are in the middle of collecting something and the game times out on you and lose all the energy you had and half of what you’ve collected. Like someone else mentioned there needs to be an option or double tap to speed up an item. I don’t know how many times I’ve accidentally tapped on something and the next thing I know I’ve just spent my precious gems which I had no intention of. ✓ TOO MANY GLITCHES and inappropriate response from game supportWhen items disappear or wrong item exchanged, team lava does not care, there are numerous complaints against this company with consumer protection agencies. Items such as the gems disappear without buying items or speeding up and lost 141 gems and team lava doesn't care nor does it answer emails requesting what happens, just get generic email back and nothing happens telling you that they can't change because you benefited....what from disappearing items. Notified Storm8 have not heard back from them this time. Now popups are hijacking the game. You Can't leave popup, there is no way to escape and they are getting longer than 30 sec. These pop up ads hijack your device and lock it and you have to do a full shut down and restart. Things that you did just prior to shut down aren't done time is lost. Sarcastically storm 8 asks if you know how to time manage game...yes before ads hijacked the game. Don't the popups ad game réalisé that we won't down load theirs games because we fear there is no game support or worse than storm 8( oops are there worse support systems than storm8?) or crash the game and continue to hijack our device. ✓ Castle StoryI love playing this game HOWEVER; I find it takes too long to load, often I have to reset the game because, for example, if I harvest from say an apple tree, there are two little buckets over it an I have to clear my cash in order to have a true picture of what I have harvested. It is far too easy to spend gems unintentionally. There should be a pop up which asks it I really want to spend the gems. Finally and most the most annoying is that especially when playing a time sensitive challenge, the game refuses to load..Version: 2.3.5

✓ Game SupportI have been playing this game for a number of years and continue to do so. I also have spent a good deal of money on gems so as to take advantage of special offers. Today for the first time I sent a request to game support regarding the current event happening for thanksgiving. For the first time I am unsure what it is they want me to do to continue in the event as it appears I have already completed what it was I was supposed to do. Their response was “support does not answer gameplay questions or give gameplay hints”. It doesn’t appear to me they even took into consideration there maybe a bug or an error occurring in the event and this is maybe why I can’t go any further. I found this insulting as I was not asking for hints on how to play. I simply am questioning whether the event is working correctly. If support isn’t there to assist what are they there for? To just simply close your support request without further looking into the issue is not what I consider to be support. I downgraded my five star rating to 3 as a result. ✓ Too Many AdsThis game is loaded with way too many ads. The quests basically only get completed once you buy gems. Once you win gems you always conveniently accidently use them on speeding something up or getting more energy. The original game Castleville which was owned by Zynga was much better. Now most of these games are designed to either take your money or time and that’s fine if goals are attainable. This game does not give you enough energy to complete your daily routines let alone the goals they set for you. It maxes out at 40 energies and that is not enough to do anything of real significance. Make the game become monotonous and boring and down right frustrating. I do not recommend game there are others out there which are much funnier and don’t require so much of your time d dedication. It also gets worse the more you level up and then the leveling up becomes much harder, meaning longer and longer. It is almost unreasonable the expectations they have for expansions and goals, I guess they are hoping for someone to invest money which is a no go for me on any of these types of games. ✓ Game is faulty and support doesn’t careThis was at least a 4 star game when it first came out. It loses a point for not having a confirm button on gem spending as you easily spend gems you dont want to because of cramped kingdoms. It would be an easy fix that plenty of people want but they don’t care and it angers me that I’ve wasted countless gems this way. These days with the timed quests the game is going further down hill as the quests are ALWAYS faulty. Biggest fault is your game wont load for days or weeks at a time. ✓ Gem thief!I can’t stand the gem settings. I don’t WANT to pay for this game. Sure you can earn gems in other ways with free in-app features. But once you get them, the game does it’s darndest to scam you out of them. I would have a hundred by now if not for the fact that the stupid games is too sensitive to touch. I try to get all my workshops to begin working on something, but as I go to click the second workshop, bam, finger reads on iPad as wanting to pay gems to finish the first workshop. Or planting crops. There’s 30 blank spots of land but instead of tapping each one, oops you just lost 7 gems finishing a crop you don’t flipping need. This seems basic but IT IS ENRAGING. I just lost 20 FOR SOMETHING I DONT EVEN NEED. I the only reason I was working on it was in case in needed it later on. ✓ Ripped offSpent lots of coins, lanterns and royal points to expand on kingdom/landscape. Worked once but when I reopened the game the next day the "expanded sections" went back to normal. ✓ Gem confirmation and expansionsWhat I like about this game, is you can play at your own pace, generally speaking (unless it’s a timed quest) loads of quests and expansions..., BUT!, some of the quests are really hard I:e fey Crystals are rare for 1 particular quest, it shouldn’t feel like you are pressured into spending real money to purchase gems in order to progress or complete quests. IF items became available, that’s fine, I’m happy with taking ages providing it doesn’t feel impossible to complete. Expansions.., unrealistic. Too many trade tickets, I can understand why people get bored because it’s takes too long to expand. Gem confirmation button is a BIG issue, I’m sure you’re aware of other gamers feelings? It’s so frustrating to build up and lose gems while tapping collecting milk! ✓ Good game except gem trapI used to play this game in 2013 and loved the whole storyline. Stoped playing because losing tons of gem to gem trap (accidentally clicking speeding up and spend gem - which is purchase with money). But I decided to download it again in 2019 to give it another try. You know what, with six year passed they STILL has the SAME GEM TRAP. I say if I’m careful so maybe i won’t accidentally click again. But after only few days, I lost 60 gems... I am giving up this game because it is just too frustrating to play. This does not happen to storm8’s other game like bakery story or farm story, where there is a confirmation notice before gem is used. So this is an issue that can be fixed. But if they haven’t done it in the last 6 years, I guess that there’s no hope it will in future. It is shame because this is a good game that I am very willing to buy gem with and play. ✓ Too repetitiveThe quests are too repetitive and long (almost impossible where certain objects can only be collected every 12 or 24 hours) and the time limits seldom let you finish unless you’re able to play 24/7 or spend money on a quick fix. ✓ Good idea except..Why in the world would you make playing the game contingent upon having “energy”? It’s stupid. I get the whole thing about getting people to buy energy but that’s not something a lot of people will spend money for. It limits the time spent playing so they move on to something else. Almost as stupid is constantly running out of storage, which I don’t think this game limits that, but for the sake of discussing dumb ways to squeeze money out of people I’m mentioning it. People who have invested time in a game (which you really can’t in this one), are more likely to shell out money for things like an exclusive magical critter or things of that nature. ✓ Time and Money DrainI’ve been playing this game for a while. This game could have been amazing. I’ve enjoyed the story line and graphics but sadly the developers greed is forcing me to stop out of frustration. I’m level 42. Level 50 is max level. I’ve given up on trying to complete any of their weekly events. In order to complete them you have to devote tons of your day every day OR spend real money. They literally have an event a week with no time off. You never have enough energy. They constantly send stupid enemies that drain what little energy you have. The goals require unrealistic number of items with really bad drop rates. There are a million stupid pop up ads on top of it. Their inventory system is a joke. There are buildings you can’t store. ✓ Game restricts progressThis game is awful. It hasn't been updated in years - I think the developers abandoned it. The "royal points", "royal buildings", and "expansion" features do not work at all. The game lets you expand twice to complete an early, low-level quest, and after that you can't expand, which means you can't use most of the shops that are unlocked after level 8 (approximately), which means you get stuck and the game becomes very disappointing & dissatisfying. This is a very common problem & there's more information on websites, including the developer's forum website. ✓ Awesome gameThis could a great game. It's fun to play and it has a great social aspect as well. Wish there was more energy and expansions!!!!! WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO BUY EXPANSION CERTIFICATES WITH OUR COIN AND/OR A COMBINATION OF ITEMS THAT WE COLLECT. The game is set up for you to lose. When you have a challenge you can’t get what’s needed to win that challenge. EXAMPLE: When you need to get a certain number of fangbeasts by collecting from cows it takes forever. I have had as many as 20 cows and might only get 2 fangbeasts and sometimes not get even 1. That goes for whatever the challenge is. Collecting milk to make a skunkupup is near impossible. ✓ FrustratedI have been playing this game for over 10 years, it hasn’t been updated in over 6 years, there are tons of glitches and things that can’t be completed because they don’t care, I have sent emails asking for help, they have helped with some things but they never return money spent & lost due to glitches. Lots of quests are a huge waste of time. I love being able to get the cute animals but most of the time it is almost impossible to get or you have to use real money to be able to get it. I continue to play because I’ve invested too much time & money into the ‘game’, but it’s not really fun anymore. WAY Too much repetition with quests, not to mention I hate having to hit a ‘beast’ 10-20 or 399 times to ‘kill’ it. ✓ Great, when it worksI have been playing this game for 9 or 10 years now and have really liked it. However, it has been increasingly difficult to play it, especially in the last year or so. Often it take two or three tries to get the game to load and open. This is accompanied by a screen asking me to check my internet connection. The internet connection is fine, it is the game that is the problem. Sometimes I go for a day or two or a week without the game being able to load. Another common issue is that after the game does open, you can do a few things and then the game freezes and rolls back to where it was when you opened it and you lose your progress. I know that these issues are not only happening to me, but also to the people who I usually interact with, my neighbors in the game. They stop playing for days and when they come back they say that they have been unable to get into the game during that time. My list of neighbors who actively play is dwindling because people are so frustrated with not being able to play when they want to that they finally just stop playing. A lot of the game play is based on timed events, and when you can’t load the game for several days and the event is 10 days long, starting the event is rather pointless. ✓ Addicted but the timed goals are frustratingI love this game. I have played it almost daily for years, I enjoy getting new buildings and upgrading them. However, often there are quests given with a time frame and these are basically impossible to finish, it’s incredibly frustrating. For example I’m currently in one of the final stages of a goal where you have to find 40 honeypots. You find 1 honeypot whenever you come across a bear, so you have to find 40 bears. However, you need to defeat each bear with 20 strikes! That’s 40 x 20. It takes 1 hour be able to have 20 strikes, so that’s 1 bear per hour. Now if you played this game 8 hrs a day (8 bears defeated) it would take 5 days to get your 40 honeypots!! Now I play a lot, but that’s just unfair. Just for this one little part of the goal. It’s just so unachievable. It would be a lot more enjoyable if they made it a touch easier for their players. A lot of the time I just don’t bother with the timed goals because you never finish them. Far too many events which also seem to be very time constricted so a lot of the times you can’t actually gel to the final goal before time expires. The events themselves are far too repetitive, you start off by making two of something, then the next stage will ask you to make three of the same thing, then four, six, eight at next stage etc, whilst using all your materials, then it’s a constant waiting game trying to gather more materials to complete but then you run out of time so you get nothing! Whilst all this is going on, you can’t seem to be able to complete your quests because all your time and energy is spent trying to complete the goals for the event at the time so you can’t do what you need to for your own quests, you are then forced to make a decision on whether to try and complete an event or try and do a quest. Got to around level 43. Unfortunately my phone broke and needed replacing when I re loaded the games app on my new phone it started from the beginning as there is no way to login/retrieve previous data, even though you do setup a storm ID. ✓ Daily grind in gameThe max amount of moves/ actions to do then a 3 min wait to water a crop then 3mins to do next action 1chop of tree ...any action just making a nice game drawn out unnecessarily. Think i am at level 12/13 and 34 moves in town! So much to do being held back, other similar games have enough wait times for thing to refresh u just adding extra wait no reason! Believe me i am a patient person other games 5hrs or more for things to make in game... not sure i will continue with this , nowhere to sell or trade either my stock in game atm at my level not sure if there will be? ✓ Total scamSo I thought this game was pretty cute, but it is pretty torturous. You get very little energy during the day and free resources to do what you’re supposed to do. Then you must have gems to move forward. Items cost hundreds of gems and often tens of thousands if not 1 hundred thousand coins. Meanwhile, you can’t even get 10k coins after days. Worst part is they sneakily get you to use up your gems, which you could easily accidentally swipe away on dumb crap (like moving your finger from one activity to the next) and it’s a well documented problem since like 2013, so they clearly have no intention to fix it and like stealing your gems. Meaning, don’t bother using real money on gems unless you enjoy being ripped off. Lastly, the only way to get a FEW free gems is to install other apps, and half the time they don’t give you the gems promised. Overall?? Total SCAM. They also deleted my first review..Version: 2.3.6

✓ Still enjoyable, but....I recently “came back” to this game, after transferring my game to another device (was unable to do so previously). I still really enjoy the artwork, storylines, and tasks. However, the special events seem too hard to completely finish. For some reason, the event “ drops” needed dramatically decrease, keeping me from finishing the last stage. I think a lot of players would prefer events that didn’t require 24/7 playing to finish. For example - my drop rate for the crossbones from the troll camp was about 20 -25%, so I was unable to finish the brooches. I realize that I could have purchased items to facilitate my progress, but I rarely make in app purchases. I also have experienced numerous instances of being “kicked out” of the app and progress being lost, when I return. I will say that the customer service/help center is excellent - I had an issue with a Baron’s Tent prize disappearing, and they quickly resolved the problem..Version: 2.3.3
✓ Review - Castle StoryHave put a lot of work and money into my kingdom and it is really interesting and that is why I keep playing the game. Have been playing this game for several years. Disappointed that all the goals are very difficult and you have to buy items to meet some of the goals. Also disappointed that the people do not listen to the players’ request. One example is the green dragon most players wanted. They made it first prize for a challenge; very unfair to the players; another item that is disappointing is the fact that they never give great freebies when we do the adventures-get tired of getting scarecrows, benches and other items I already have. And then there is the issues with bugs in a lot of the challenges-very frustrating. Now I pick and choose Kingdom goals to participate in. For long-time players there should be some appreciation for our continued participation..Version: 2.3.3
✓ Just too much and not enough!!I often joke that I don’t know why I play this game when my life is already filled with so much work, but for some reason it is enjoyable. That is until they start adding in these quests that are difficult to avoid but almost impossible to achieve. At least for those of us who have other things to do during the day and can only get to the game 2-3 times a day. I have learnt to avoid a lot of tasks and challenges that take away important energy and resources from everything else! I decided to do the Fabled Faun story and here I am with 3 days left only on chapter 3! I’ve sent my knights to the meadow 4 times and twice they only came back with glimmer dust, once with only 1 seed! What a huge waste of all the energy it took to grow the wheat, make the bread make the simple feast and then send the knights. Just going to the meadow took me 2-3 days, for nothing! I still like the basic game, but the limited time challenges have been extremely frustrating. Especially because after they are over, at least for those that can’t complete them, you are left with a bunch of useless stuff you can do anything with..Version: 2.2
