✓ Very usefulI like this app more every time I use it. I have 5-6 core apps for composition and this is one of them. Not quite as flexible as Garage Band, but its not meant to be Garage Band. I consider it a kind of advanced scratch pad for exploring ideas and hearing them with some arrangement ideas that I hadnt considered yet. I then go from here to Garage Band, then to Auria. I find it, as the title says, very useful..Version: 1.0

✓ I’m just a hobby guyI’m just a hobby guy who likes to write my own stuff and while I play guitar and some piano, it certainly isn’t recording material. I have all the acoustic apps and just purchased the piano app and I find they are superb for what I need. Once I got the basic tutorials done, I was putting tunes together very easily. ✓ Great accompaniment appI love all the seeding and apps. This one could use a few more jazz ballad or swing styles. Some funky stuff styles would be good too. The audio quality sounded a bit bright and hash. Why not have an option to just download the entire styles set..Version: 2.3

✓ Invaluable appSession band is an invaluable app, I use backing tracks for my trio but there are many that are not available or in the wrong key. Session band has enabled me to create backing tracks effortlessly in the keys I want as well as in any tempo I want. I love the way you can choose from many genres to build your tracks and that you'll usually find the perfect rhythm within that genre that you're looking for. More country please !!!.Version: 2.1
✓ Good for meFor an instrumentalist, this is great. I guess it could be a scratch pad for songwriting, but it's really nice to jam with. It's nice to put in a nice 1-4-5 bluegrass loop and practice licks or improv. It's worth it to me for that alone. I teach guitar and this will come in handy for playing over chords. ✓ A few UI tweaks would make this perfectGreat concept and loops, I've had this a short while and found it _very_ helpful in songwriting - much more flexible than GarageBand's design of loops being in one key for the entire song. This could be further improved by including the track automation feature which was introduced in later apps. Also it's a bit fiddly to tap the last barline every time you want to add a chord; at the very least this needs to be made a bigger target. The ability to record audio (i.e. vocals) over the top would be very nice to have, but since you can copy and paste into other apps such as GarageBand, this isn't a show stopper..Version: 2.1

✓ I love itThis app rocks! I have all the collections they offer and they are radio ready sounds. This is my new go to app for creating tracks on the fly and they sound great. The studio players that are on the loops are top's. This is a dream come true please keep making updates and adding new collections. I would love to know how much studio time went into cutting the loops they just sound excellent. I love the work flow of the app. I created 5 tracks in the past week and they sound better than most tracks I have produced over the past 25 years lol. Keep up the good work.. ✓ Get your Song juices flowing with these apps!They sound so beautiful! Imagine you trying to record all these amazing instruments in your studio or even paying for musicians to record for you in a real studio? Well, this is where Session Band truly shines. It is in the effort, quality and inexpensive alternative to doing the above. You can literally record a track and get inspired to make a whole song out of it. Or you can use Audio bus, and chop it up into your DAW, like Cubasis or Auria and loop it, and do other amazing things with the audio. Your imagination is really the limit. I contacted the developer and they are working on fixing the timing issue when exporting and other fixes. I appreciate their support for this apps and although it is audio, and the file size might be bigger than we wish, the sound is superb! People need to understand that the when you change the speed of audio no matter how good the shifting is, the quality will degrade. So, having that in mind, I don't complain about the sound changing when changing the speed of the song. But if you use it as is, and build your song at the actual speed stated, then you're good to go. Perhaps in the future, the iPad will allow for better time stretching technology but for now, this is what we have and personally, I'm really grateful for the ability to take these amazing recording Musicians with me in my personal bag and record with them at any time, any place and let all my songs come to life playing along with amazing musicians. ✓ Fun after you learn itGotta say that I like the potential with this app to come up with chord progressions and song ideas but it was a real pain to get the hang of making it do what I wanted. I spent a couple of hours or more building a chord progression but this invoked many curse words during the learning. Still, for $2.99, I think it's a pretty neat app but it's much harder to use than GarageBand..Version: 2.1
✓ For writing with chordsWhen I write songs, I usually just put some chords down and figure out a melody from there or vice versa. For this writing style, this app (and the other sessionband apps) is awesome! Put the chords down and you can loop it over and over as you figure out the melody. Switch styles with a few taps to get a different feel..Version: 2.1

✓ Best tool for great chord progressionActually, I kind of prefer this version of SessionBand over the other versions. I like the fact that I can lay down one chord progression and then try it in a variety of styles quickly. No there is not Audiobus support, but it is not too hard to export a session to a track and then import into some other app. My biggest wish for all of these apps is a more usable way to edit chord progressions. Bottom portion with tiny buttons is about 1/3 of display. Chord blocks and text are now annoyingly small. No one probably reviewed the results. Same poor design of display on acoustic and piano apps. App display layout not what is showing in advertisements of displays. Audio distorted since before recent update (on recent iPhone with latest OS).Version: 2.9
