Garmin Connect™ for Positive User Reviews

The best health tracking app - hands down!I must start off by saying I love this app, it is my go to and probably the one I spend the most time in! Some improvements are still needed: 1. Allow users to customize sleep hours! My goal is 7 hours but Garmin doesn’t allow this setting to be modified! You only have 8 as an option I tend to never make this goal which throws off my daily card showing that I made all of my goals! My health and fitness team recommends 6-9 hours I’m not certain if this is a general health standard but Garmin should at least allow us to set it within this range! 2. The watch menus “in the app” -can use a overhaul “Activities,Apps and More” should be collapsed as a single section which includes “data fields” and “widgets” currently they fall under appearance! I get it Garmin is trying to make it simpler for non-technical users however, I think with less menus and more grouping it would improve workflow! Btw, it used to be this way they changed it some time a go! 3. The App Store needs to be more integrated! It seems that Garmin should let the app include apps from the AppStore without launching a browser within the app! I would suggest putting the App Store directly below the watch on the main menu, allow the api to talk directly to the store and have it better embedded into the app! Overall I can live with the app without these features however it would be nice to see them in a future release!.Version: 4.15.1

Long time userOverall I really like Garmin app & Garmin products. Am currently on my 5th Garmin watch over 7 year period. I currently use a Garmin 235 and am anxiously awaiting its replacement. I find Garmin Connect has been a very reliable application and has all the data I need. I find it has all features I need and several more that I’ve never gotten into. My only qualm with Garmin over the years is their heart rate measuring devices... to me it’s their weak spot. I have had issues with heart rate straps dating back to my first Forerunner 25 up through my Forerunner 620. I switch to wrist based on 235 and find it’s maybe 90-95% reliable - unfortunately that 5-10% comes at the most inopportune times! Like during the Boston marathon in 2017 or other critical races or workout. Actually it’s the Garmin Connect app that kept me with Garmin running watches. I know Polar does a better job tracking heart rate but I like the Garmin Connect app enough, plus have years of data on it. Am hoping that improvements to the 235 replacement will include better more reliable heart rate tracking....Version: 4.15.1

Some bugs never seem to be fixedOverall love the app, but there do seem to be some longstanding glitches (I have a Vivoactive 4s). Hydration widget very erratic. “Add Data” option in main screen never seems to work re opening the related functionality (hydration, activity etc) so always have to go the long way round. Goal Alert setting to “not during an activity” doesn’t appear to work as always get those alerts (and yes, have toggled settings, resync’d etc). Activity data could be smarter eg if you put in an average value, by definition the max will be higher but the max value always starts at one, etc. Do appreciate the regular update culture tho’..Version: 4.66.1

Update suggestionI generally like the Garmin connect app, I’ve been using it for over 4 years now, and I do really like it. But, my biggest frustration has always been not being able to your stats for the week, month and year. You can see 7 days, 4 weeks and 12 months, but to be honest, I can’t see what use that is to anyone! I’d like to know how many steps and miles/km’s I’ve done this week, from Monday morning. How many I’ve done since the 1st of the month etc. If you half way through the month, what use is know how far you’ve walked in the last 4 weeks? I’d love to see this upgrade made to the app, I think it’d be spot on then..Version: 4.31.2

LOVE it! Great for real life, not just eliteI love the Garmin connect app. I love that I can personalize everything from what I see on the screen for my phone to my watch right from the app. The features are wonderful for training and monitoring. I have used this app now through two pregnancies. It has been nice to watch my fitness and be able to reflect back across the last 3 years to see the difference between each pregnancy. With integration of the body battery, it was fascinating to see how my heart rate variability changed during the last four weeks of my pregnancy. The only thing I wish the app had for the pregnancy piece was a spot to track contractions. That literally has everything else you would need. Now, a request, and not a complaint-would love to see this app integrate with Carbon for nutrition tracking. Thanks, Garmin, for being amazing as always..Version: 4.64.1

Rowing activity needs more supportRowing activity needs more support and syncing ability with Concept 2 etc. Rowing should be a prime activity, who needs walking activity if you are an elite or elite in training athlete - put all the high performance activities at our fingertips with the same data etc capabilitiezzzz. Thanks!.Version: 4.75.1

Keeps getting betterGarmin are excellent at adding features such as activity trim and activity feedback perceptions to make tracking, fixing and analysing activities easier and better. Thanks for the ongoing work, keep it up!.Version: 4.32

Love the app but one thing plsHey team, love the app and have been using it for years. With the recent overhaul though there is one frustrating glitch. When I view a segment in my activity and rotate my phone to the side to get the full assortment of details, the list of attempts no longer rotates to a horizontal view. I’ve made sure my screen is not locked to vertical and have closed and reopened the app multiple times. If you could fix this is would be amazing. Thanks!.Version: 4.71.1

Fenix 5Goes really well stays connected good battery time and the Tri setting makes it easy to see your times and transition times loving it..Version: 4.29.1

Features requestLoving the app and LOVE my Venu 2s!! I had an idea that I hope someone will see 🤞we collect so much data about our health using fitness trackers and one particular function sparked an idea- the women’s health tracker. This could be enhanced by allowing a customisable reminders function for when we need to change or purchase our next contraception. I.e ‘implanon due to be removed soon book a doctors appointment’, or a reoccurring reminder for ‘your birth control script is due for renewal this week’. Not only that but I love the symptoms tracker that is already available in women’s health and think this could be adapted to suit all genders for overall health. If you could customise the name of the symptoms and the name of the health concern we could track long term concerns such as anxiety and depression, pain to determine if an injury is getting worse or better, eating disorders, all kinds of things! If you pair this with customisable reminders also you could remind people to pick up medications, have Pap smears and breast screenings, and follow up appointments that would help people be more on top of their health. Please consider 💛🧡❤️.Version: 4.42.1

NiceNice app lots of Data provided everything one would need. But it would be a lot better if you could change the watch activity Data field in the app instead of just within the Watch and Gamin Pay is not used by many banks in Australia so I think giving Google pay as a option would be great. Having to have phone location services on all the time to get weather is a pain, while using the app as a option would be better. For charging the Watch USB-C Please and be able to see battery % on IOS battery widget..Version: 4.54

Good all round sporting appI’ve been using this app for a number of years now with a Fenix 3 watch. It has improved a lot over that time, and is good at recording a very wide range of sports. It would be nice if you could export data from the app for split times etc and also gpx files. It would also be nice if you could trim a recording via the app for those annoying times when you forget to stop your watch at the end of a swim and record the drive home. Graphing would be more useful if when you zoom in it recalculated averages for the segment shown. This would be particularly helpful for interval training Apart from these small things though it is pretty d. Route creation is better than it was, although there are much better apps like Footpath for creating routes out there now, which you can them import into this app and then onto your watch..Version: 4.19.1

Great inspiring appLove it! I've been using a similar app to track my activities for a few years through my iPhone, but since receiving the Vivoactive as a birthday present last month I can't find fault with it. I run, mountain bike and walk/hike and it meets all my needs. I particularly like the lap time, fastest mile etc and the inspiration to meet your next goal even the reminder to 'move' when you've been inactive for a period 😁 even if you have achieved your 10,000 steps 👍 Update 2/6/21: I now have the Garmin Fenix 6 solar, a great watch with more activities. However, rescheduling any Garmin training programme is a no go. Fix this annoying bug and the app will be complete..Version: 4.43

90% satisfyingI’m loving my venu 2plus. Almost everything. The Don’t disturb function is one of my issues. I wish there was just a button to turn off and on, like on the iPhone. Instead this sleep /wake thing doesn’t make sense to me. What if I don’t want to get notifications even if I’m awake? Like I’m in a movie or something. Or I got up earlier then I set it up. Etc. I’m aware that I can manually turn it off and on but I always keep track about this sleep/wake settings. My other issue that sometimes when I start running or walking, the watch shows some insane pace, mostly way too slow. For example my average running pace is 10 minute per mile and sometimes it says 20, which is impossible. I usually restart the watch when this happens and then it’s ok but by the time I’m done with that, I’ve already lost 5-6 minutes. I really hope that these issues will be improved, I’ve read other reviewers having the same problems.Version: 4.66.1

Better by farUntil I bought an Apple Watch coupled with the iPhone, I had always used Garmin for navigation and activity tracking. I found could just about live with the dramatically short battery life, due to the integration even though though the ability to analyse my rides was less than I was used to on the Garmin. However I developed an increasing amount of pain in my wrist after switching to the new version cellular iWatch, so much so I could not bear any pressure on my wrist during exercise, riding or normal tasks. After removing the watch one night and for the next day, the pain lessened dramatically. This lead me to look for alternatives and I found the Garmin Instinct Solar, I am now fully converted to this and the Garmin Connect app, it does everything the iWatch did (cellular functions aside) with what I feel is a better analytical package, my wrist no longer hurts and I am not limited by pain, the battery life by the way is incredible!! All in all a brilliant package.Version: 4.34.1

Awesome app and watchI’ve owned my Forerunner 245m for a few months now and I love both the watch and the app. Currently doing one of the running training programs which are really good. I would highly recommend Garmin to anyone else :).Version: 4.45

Great app but....I’ve had my Garmin Venu for a few weeks now and I love it. I also love the app as it clearly lays out all the data you need to see at a glance. I don’t know if it’s just me but 4 or so times now when I’ve opened the app and it starts setting up my Venu from scratch. I thought it was happening when the app was updated but not so. It’s just done it again. After going through setup I checked the App Store to find there’s been no update for a couple of weeks. Weird. I’ve also had some connection issues where Garmin Connect can’t connect to my Venu despite my iPhone showing a Bluetooth connection in settings. These two issues are the only reason I give 4 stars..Version: 4.25.2

Really, nothing beats a Garmin…or the Garmin appI had a Fitbit for several years and after it broke, I was planning on getting another. But as I researched the latest Charge model, I saw that it had a /lot/ of features that would’ve been great to have…if I was willing to pay for the premium membership. So, I started researching Garmin, based on the recommendation of several friends who owned them. I got my Forerunner 45s (not their most expensive or high-tech watch, but one I believed would do everything I needed) and haven’t regretted a penny I spent on it. There are no features that you have to pay to get—no fancy memberships to “upgrade” or whatnot—whatever you spend on the watch is paying for everything you get. This app is super helpful for looking at my runs (editing them, etc.), and I plan to stick with Garmin for a long, long time..Version: 4.57

Notification settingsI recently switched from a Fitbit blaze to a Garmin instinct and it is superior in all ways other than not being able to choose which apps are able to send notifications to my watch. On Fitbit, I got to choose which apps specifically would send notifications to my watch, however on this watch and using this app I only get the option to turn them on or off. This is annoying and frustrating as I like the notifications on my watch, but I only care about some, and I am forced to get them all. A simple fix would be to give a menu which allows me to choose which specific apps can sent notifications. Other than this, I am enjoying this app and highly recommend..Version: 4.33

Great app but lacking some featuresThis is a great app but there are some very unfriendly things about it. 1. Type of activities - if you are into any team sport then forget it: Volleyball, basketball, etc not a thing in the app but hey if you are into sky diving, flying (?!) or even diving (6 types of diving activities are available) then you are covered. 2. Add details to the manual activity - well if you happen to do an activity than consumes a good amount of calories ( let’s say volleyball for example) you will have to scroll to 800+ values, why would you enter the number using the keyboard right? 3. import from Fitbit - you can only do the import for the whole day, not for an activity which you couldn’t use your Garmin for. So if I want to use Fitbit for an activity I’ll have to wear it the entire day...really? Can’t you just fill in the gaps with the Fitbit where the Garmin device happen to have no data? I’ve seen plenty of posts in the forum for point 1 at least and it’s still no addressed. So great app but fells like the product isn't really taking input from the consumers..Version: 4.33

Suunto vs 5x plusI’ve just changed to the 5x plus after using a suunto traverse alpha for a couple of years. I’d considered the Garmin Tactix Charlie and the suunto Baro 9 as well. I wasn’t keen to change platforms and after a 10 day period of adjustment Im pretty impressed. The tracking by suunto Movescount does seem superior - I’m not sure at this point about the potential for others to track my movements or those other users of Garmin. I’m not in any sandy neighbourhood for a while so will be mindful of the flaw that allowed people to track users of the suunto through Movescount The features and ease of use are far outweighing the battery advantage of the traverse (and I’m guessing the Baro 9 ) at this point. I have been warned that Garmin service is poor in NZ - slow to respond if at all, no parts availability etc by many people and that suunto was great - speedy and efficient. It’s the only concern if there’s any failure under warranty for me..Version: 4.15

Good fitness app, not great at sleep trackingThe app is very useful. I feel the stats are more accurate than others. The body battery is a very cool feature that becomes more accurate on the long run and gives you the satisfaction of right balance of workouts and tests. As an improvement, you could add a modern summary view to capture all the important metrics in a single view that can be shared with others as a picture. Only complaint is that sleep tracking is not great..Version: 4.62

Does the job, has issuesThis app works as well as can be expected but also has some really annoying problems. I’m using a forerunner 25 but they probably carry over First of all, the app has the option to change settings for the watch and applies these whenever you sync it. You would think this would be a good thing, but it also resets some settings that can’t even be changed in the app. So every time I sync the watch, it turns the key tones back on which are very annoying. The other issue is less of an annoyance but an annoyance nonetheless - the watch does not stay connected properly unless the app is open in the background. I’ve read online about this issue and apparently this is just down to how iOS works but I’m putting it here because it is still an issue..Version: 4.40

Amazing Battery LifeMy watch has only gone down one percent in the past two days and has been on the whole time! WOW. Highly recommend… best I’ve ever tried!.Version: 4.64.1

Just gets betterBeen using this app for a long time now, as a keen cyclist I have been using it for linking to my Garmin Edge and using the livetrack feature so my wife can keep tabs on where I am for many years. Early days there were issues with it losing connection and being a nightmare to get it to reconnect but this has gotten better over subsequent updates and now I have no issues. I use it to sync with a Fenix 6 and Edge 1030 and it gives me all the data You could wish for in an easy to read and well organised app. It supports a good range of activities although I admit I only use it for running, cycling and swimming, and tracks your activity over time to give you a wealth of fitness data so you can see how well you are doing and if you need to push a bit harder, take it easier or even stop completely for a week. Syncing with the devices, Garmin Connect website, Strava etc. is a breeze so you also have the option of using your own favourite platform but to be honest over the later incarnations of this app I have tended towards this and Garmin Connect and not so much Strava..Version: 4.41.2

Instinct watchI absolutely love the watch and app. I’m a bit of a watch freak; love my watches and own quite a few different normal watches. Since I’ve got the Garmin, I can’t see me taking it off. Love to see how my sleep went first thing in the morning. It’s actually motivating me to maintain my fitness. I have 4 main goals every day: How much water I drink (my goal 2 litres), steps (7500), sleep (8 hours or more) and flights of stairs (10). You can of course change your targets. The sleep monitors 3 grades of sleep; light, deep and REM (Rapid Eye Movement - when you dream). The deep and the REM are the good sleep, for body repair. I aim to get the the 4 green ticks every day for achieving the daily goals. It’s motivation. And, the more active and fitter you get, the more deep and REM sleep you get. I had a large percentage of light sleep when I started but now it’s about 50% light, 50% light/REM (the good sleep as I like to call it). Awesome, I’m hooked. And believe me I’m not easily impressed. Cheers.Version: 4.29.1

Very well designed for somewhat serious runnersI have been using Garmin 645 for about 4 weeks and I really like it. I primarily use it for running, so cannot comment on its utility for strength training. As regards running, I run around 20 miles a week and training for half marathon. I am using the ‘coach’ feature and it is really helpful. I don’t have to spend hours for planning the workouts. The ‘coach’ does it for me. It adapts the upcoming workouts based on current performance. I find the various statistics that Garmin provides useful. However, I doubt if a beginner would need them. They might get overwhelmed or bogged down with such info overload. I don’t think beginners use such sophistication. Until I started long runs (up to 10 miles) I was using Vi earphones. That’s the best thing happened to me in recent times. It was great motivator and made me coming for a run each morning. But it is not accurate and detailed as Garmin. So I switched and it’s a bitter sweet feeling. I am keeping one star because I feel Garmin can do better with the coach feature..Version: 4.36

Almost gave upI use to run 10 miles easily at a 6:30 mile pace when I was running track and XC. That was my early college years up until covid and school got tougher and I put on a significant amount of weight. I honestly got scared to run again because I could barely run a 800m at a 9 minute mile pace without stopping. My girlfriend got me the garmin 245 music because I told her I use to have one and loved it. I started following the app and calorie counting. I wanted to just put miles on it. After a few weeks to a month I was running 9 minute miles easily and started running further and further. Now I’m at about 8 minute miles and feel more positive to be healthy and looking a lot better. It was a gift I never knew I needed but it pulled me out of a bad place. The watch and app itself works just fine for me, I wish other apps would connect with it like an Apple Watch would, but garmin has always been a very solid brand..Version: 4.63.1

I love it!I love this app, it tracks many aspects of your activities and presents the data in a colourful, easy-to-view way. I also have the Garmin golf app, and the two integrate perfectly. The connection between my watch, the apps and my apple phone is seamless, which is great..Version: 4.75.1

Finally, disabled people are able to earn badges!I used to be quite active and was the top earner of badges amongst my friends. I knew at the time I bought my Garmin I was becoming progressively more disabled and I wanted to track that, to be honest. I haven’t been able to earn any of even the monthly badges in months. I never see anything I can do anymore (in terms of earning badges) and Garmin has never done amazingly in terms of taking into account disabled articulation. Expedition badges are exactly what I never knew I wanted. I live right next to one of the options and I do get a kick out of being able to earn something to show I’ve “done” it (distance-wise) without actually having to come up with the energy and the ability to do the actual walk itself in even broken up sections (something I struggle with that I never used to). Thanks for this addition. Would love to see more disability inclusion in future but I admit I’m quite happy with this scrap that’s been thrown for the moment!.Version: 4.65

5 out of 5The application is a good tool for measuring your performance and progress over time. If you are looking for a useful guide for keeping track of your performance this is a great resource to get on the right path. The analytics are sufficient enough to map out your progress day-by-day, weekly, monthly, and annually. Having access to your analytics will provide you with the necessary insights to adjust your daily workout routine. There are several pros to account for rather than simply focusing on what I desire to blame my lack of motivation on. This application is as good as the person putting it to use. Mapping, heart rate data, distance data. pace data, etc. I am satisfied with the application in the light of if being a free resource. The overall gain is not something to take lightly. It is a complex process of creating the metrics and measuring your performance without a tool like the Garmin application. Lastly, information gathered in this application is immediately accessible in my Strava account. Thank you, Garmin application team for your efforts and hard work! You have made an impact on my fitness journey. My level of fitness helps me to influence people’s desire for fitness and wellness. I must give you credit for improving my influence on others. Thank you for all that you do! It is a physical and social capital gain without having to pay a premium cost..Version: 4.74.3

Good AwarenessThe Vivoactive HR lets me know if I need to move, walk, or exert. I use the bicycle mode to keep track of where I have gone and how hard I have worked. The link to iPhone messages and calls is also useful. It would be good if it had a calorie intake monitor as well. I used the (linked) Endomondo app for a year but stopped when they asked me to accept that they could not protect my privacy. Privacy was not the issue, it was that they did not want to take any responsibility for it - I can’t secure the data they keep on me!.Version: 4.15

Great app, but need refresh and widgets !It’s overall a really really good app. It needs some refreshing, but I know it’s coming, I saw the beta. So that’s perfect. But please, add some useful widget, and everything will be fine 🤓.Version: 4.75.1

Works well easy to followGarmin ConnectIQ is user friendly and connects with out issues on most paired partnerships. The layout is super easy to follow and I enjoy looking at things like sleep quality and effort during training. The only exception os when there are bugs it does take a bit to get fixed and communication can be slow but that doesn’t happen often..Version: 4.47.2

Great watchReally getting heaps out of the watch and apps. During the day can switch between workouts etc and it provides a great motivator for working out each day.Version: 4.30

New to Garmin - great but sleep analysis needs workHave just moved over to Garmin from Withings. A big step up on the GPS and sports tracking, great apps and customisation available, even for kayaking which is a nice surprise. The one weak area I’ve found is that the sleep tracking is hopelessly inaccurate, I have young children and it adds time awake with kids in the bed as REM... haha, I wish. Withings nailed this one with their watches, they somehow knew the fine line between light sleep and awake in bed. I hope Garmin can keep improving in that area..Version: 4.33

Getting better againLatest update seems to have resolved all of the issues below. I am upgrading my rating to 4 stars since the auto syncing is working flawlessly again and when I manually sync it works exactly as intended. The only reason I’m not going a full 5 stars is due to the amount of time it took them to resolve an issue that wasn’t an issue to begin with. Since the last update my FR945 has difficulty maintaining connection and syncing with iPhone. iOS 13 latest version. I have to turn off the 945 and restart just to acquire a connection. Then when I attempt to sync the status bar/circle will reach the halfway point and freeze and eventually fail. I have to repeat this process 3-4 times before getting a full sync. Last night it took over an hour to sync the data. Prior to the latest update there were none of these issues and everything worked great. Seems as though Garmin is going backwards? Oh, and I have gone through and adjusted all of the privacy and Bluetooth settings as Garmin has instructed since the latest release..Version: 4.25

Connect! What a great name for this app. I really feel like it’s helped me connect with what’s going on with me on a physical level, with different metrics and helpful blurbs about things like sleep quality, body battery, recovery times, pulse oximeter, heart rate etc. Feeling wiped out? Check my body battery and see I’m under 10, it’s a funny thing but seeing that readout kind of gives me permission in my brain to prioritize rest instead of just slogging forward. I bought a garmin descent mk2i for the functionality on the device itself (which is extraordinary) but am now hooked on all the functionality the device AND the app seamlessly provide. Here’s a good example, I can’t wear my watch to track Brazilian Jiu Jitsu sessions because it would probably get torn off my wrist, but after class I can add that workout through the app. Keep up the great work Garmin!.Version: 4.52

Second Forerunner in 10 yearsUpgraded 5 years ago from 210 to 235. My 210 wrist strap deteriorated beyond usability but the watch was working well. While I was happy with my 210 I upgraded to the 235. I replaced my 235 wristband two years ago as both wrist band keepers broke. Otherwise the strap is 100 times better than my prior Garmin. Very comfortable. I wear my Garmin overnight for the alarm and then for my morning workout. Run, Bike (indoor and outdoor) as well as CrossFit is all I do for workouts and the watch is perfect for these activities. Simple and easy to use. The alarm wakes me but is quiet enough to not disturb my wife. As well it is quickly silenced. The Garmin Connect app works flawlessly. I do not follow any metrics or use it beyond simple activity tracking nor do I wear my Forerunners at work or on weekends as I’m hard on my watches (military) but I will definitely replace it with another Forerunner when the time comes. My only minor gripe is that when bicycling it frequently does not pick up my wrist heart rate as I adjust my workouts based upon my HR zone but not a big deal when cycling. Overall it’s a great product at a great price..Version: 4.59.1

More activity options pleaseI recently upgraded from the Forerunner 35 to the Venu sq. I had an Apple watch for a minute and quickly discovered that it couldn’t do what my garmin did, so the Apple Watch went back and the Venu sq was purchased. Still trying to decide if i love the Venu Sq, as the Forerunner was so much simpler to use, but the Venu provides so much data that i love, like stress tracking, O2, etc. I really wish the Venu had more exercise options like HIIT or “functional”strength training. The strength training option from Garmin is frustrating with the reps, just simply time my workout. I wish setting up my walk/run intervals while running was simpler than going into another menu. Why isn’t that option there when i go into run? I can’t seem to figure out how to pause a run. Does it auto pause? What happens when i have to wait at a traffic light? Can i scroll through my text messages. Some just show half a message. Why can’t i scroll down? The watch just isn’t very intuitive. I’ll keep reading the manual, but i think improvements could be made. If there wasn’t so much other data that i like, i would be tempted to go back to my Forerunner. 🤔.Version: 4.38

VovokiGreat device to help you maintain your regular daily goal and to connect with others.Version: 4.15.1

Garmin Connect NewbieI’ve owned various Garmin devices for years. I never liked the “ANT” products. I never liked any of the software mobile/PC. My wife is a Triathlete and has all the Garmin “stuff” you can purchase. I saw from her experience how improved the Garmin software experience is. I own a iPhone X. She purchased the V4 for me Christmas. I was training for a February marathon. I have been very impressed with the software. In the past 2 months maybe 3 times I’ve had to do the full Bluetooth, Phone, watch, shutdown restart. I’ve seldom had to resync. The software I think is amazing. It tells, tracks, shows more than I could ever want. It is like an onion. It has layers and layers of information. My wife’s group included me in in one of their “Challenges”. That function works perfectly. I’ve never used the calendar but it seems to keep track of me to some degree anyway. I normally am a “Big Brother” is out to get me. I threw caution to the wind for the Marathon and turned on all the sharing with Apple Health and all the Garmin Connection software. There was a TON of bio data Garmin wanted. I don’t know if that has anything to do with the software running so well and keeping me up to date..Version: 4.27

Keeping tabs on my strength training and runningI’m always tracking my running with this app after syncing the watch, it’s so easy and the watch is an awesome tool for making sure I finish my kilometres and keep tabs on my pace. I even log my Reps and weights when strength training editing the exercises on the app afterwards. I also set it to time yoga sessions. A great tool for tracking your intensity minutes for the week. I never thought I would appreciate a smart watch so much until I was given one as a gift. Feel naked without it..Version: 4.48

Love it!I really love the watch and the application. However, were there can be improvements is when your doing weight training. I wish there was an area to add in your workout schedule and sets on the application. So you can just select the workout your doing and track the health data based on the workout.Version: 4.74.2

Good app, needs a few tweaks. It’s easy to use and has good features. There are a few things that are a little difficult to know what to select as there is know specific choices. I’d like to see team sports practice as just selecting cardio is a bit broad and simplified. On the strength section there are a lot, and I mean a lot, if exercises covered. Like a lot of people I’m in to kettlebell and this section needs expanding. It seems to have some things I’d expect to see missing yet still has some more obscure ones. The badges are a good feature. They definitely motivate you to be consistent as a deadline is the best way to get you going when you don’t want to..Version: 4.42.1

Love the Garmin Connect AppOverall I love the app. It tracks what I want it to track. There’s a good variety of Challenges and workouts to choose from. Very versatile!.Version: 4.74.2

Bought a FR245 to train for a marathon4 Stars - Jan 2020 update - In January my iphone upgraded to ios13 and since then my FR245 continues to disconnect from the app and I need to repair them every day. I used the instructions recommended, kudos to Garmin for acknowledging this problem. It’s a real hassle so far, not thrilled about it and haven’t fixed the disconnect on my phone yet. 5 Stars- The app provides tremendous amount of useful information. I enjoy the format compared to Fitbit in every way. The app is customizable to each persons preferences in terms of what you want to see and in what order. Works seamlessly with Strava and Myfitness Pal. I’m enjoying it very much and I find the app to be very satisfying. -I love how as I read my stats, I can also read about what statistics mean and how Garmin calculates them so seamlessly in the app. -I never quite figured out how to use the Garmin coach for marathon training plan in that... I was hoping for interactive videos and audio commands, haven’t figured it out yet and used other training plans for the Marathon. I may try it for a different goal I set for myself to be seen..Version: 4.27

New updateThis app has always worked well for me, and the watch too. Recently however when I open the app looking to sync, it says that my device isn’t connected via Bluetooth and so can’t sync. When I go in to settings it shows that it is, and I’m easily able to get notifications so I know my phone and watch are connected. Now with the new update, or something of the sort, I can’t even opeb the app - it just crashes and sends me back to the home page. I really like using your app so people rectify this ASAP..Version: 4.33

App seems goodA few issues with device sync but overall performance seems great!.Version: 4.25.1

Great appI have been using this app and garmin devices in general for 4 years now. I am very happy with the apps reliability and integration with apple health and a number of other apps (MyFitnessPal and Sufferfest etc). Once you get set up, the app becomes your one stop check in for all your health stats. If you have the necessary garmin devices this app can really help you fine tune your training and get many insights into your health.Version: 4.47.2

So interestingI’m finding it so intriguing to find out what my body is doing during the day. Especially my heart rate, stress and oxygen levels. Allowing me to be more mindful of my body and how I use it. I’m a big gym goer so tracking what my body does at the gym has also been awesome to see and track..Version: 4.57

Newbie to GarminHad my Instinct watch less than a week,so everything is still Fairly new. Do like the bright coloured app screen and getting to find my way around the app reasonable easy so far so good 🤔😊.Version: 4.20

Easy to use but needs a few tweeksAs a newbie to exercise trackers I wanted something easy to use on my phone and kept me up to date with my totals. I needed something to inspire me. The app is quite easy to use. The only thing needed is an update to how the stats are grouped. I enter the race at your pace walking challenge every month and want to keep track of my miles. It’s good that you have access to your historical stats but I’d like to see them grouped as this week, this month, this year rather than a rolling 7 days, 4 weeks and year as I have to keep taking the end of last month off my 4 week total and send multiple screen shots as my race evidence instead of just a month view. This would also really help to push me each week/month to get that extra bit of exercise. If this could be achieved then it would definitely be a 5 star app..Version: 4.31.2

My day glitchMostly this app is awesome there are a few bugs but that’s to be expected. I’m pretty happy with the functionality. I have a Vivoactive 3 & an Index S2 and they pair really well, gives me all the stats I need. I can create workouts and send them to my watch and edit if I do more sets, log walk/run/treadmill. Health stats are good too, heart rate, sleep data, bmi, body fat & muscle all accurate. Overall a really good picture of my fitness in an easy to navigate app..Version: 4.64.1

Love this app! It’s super easy to create training sessions using the app and then send to the watch by syncing. I am a runner and I find I can tailor the session to suit my needs, whether it be based on time, distance, pace or a mix of all of these. I also love the “lap button to end” feature which gives a little more flexibility if needed. Learning how to properly use my Garmin device (735xt Forerunner) and program training session on the app has made all the difference to my performance. I don’t need to think about anything once I’ve got my workout on my watch: I just run and my watch tells me what to do! When I’m done I can compare the stats with previous workouts to monitor progress. So much to love about this app: I could write an essay!!.Version: 4.24

Re: app reviewOverall works well with my Garmin watch, but it’s the little things that could be sorted out quite quickly that let it down Such as it doesn’t recognise badminton as a sport but then recognises lesser known ones such as pickle ball. To add insult to injury if you go into the activity afterwards and change sports in then let’s you change under racquet ball sports to badminton. So clearly a bug. So means every time I have to record this activity manually which then doesn’t show up in my fitness ready report. It would also be nice to have a place to report issues like this within the app itself also rather than having to do here..Version: 4.71.1

Amazing appIt does what it says. I love the device plus the app along with it. The app is easy to understand and I will never look for another than Garmin..Version: 4.64.1

Pretty good, could use some further developmentOn the whole a pretty good app. I have a Vivosmat HR which now coming up to 3 years old. I would like to be able to edit activities to suit, e.g change the Yoga to Pilates. Has at times had problems syncing but lately has improved..Version: 4.13.3

I love my Fenix 5XMy wife and I both have a Fenix 5S/5X respectively. The watch/Garmin App records all the important metrics of running and other cardio gym sessions very accurately. These are well laid out and easily reviewed within the App. I easily get 14 days battery life per charge too. The Garmin Fenix watches are our third fitness tracker watches to date, the previous being Garmin Vivofit HR and the competitor named after a fruit. The latter is overhyped and is nowhere near as good at showing the relevant metrics, requiring numerous Apps to view similar data. Within the Garmin Connect App, all data is easily accessible in one place. The Vivofit HR was OK but it’s not a serious fitness tracker and the strap gave out for both myself and my wife after only about six months. Both the Garmin Fenix watches and the Garmin Connect App are highly recommended by me, hands down the best option..Version: 4.16

App used to be a dog but is now greatI previously had a Garmin forerunner 25 and the app although basic worked great. However,I found if I connected the watch to a PC the app stopped working properly. I then had a whole big muck around with installing and uninstalling the app, switching my iPhone on and off etc until it would work again. I now have a Forerunner 935 and the app works perfectly with no issues. I also have installed a Garmin cadence sensor on my bike and this also works very well. The Garmin developers continue to add features and improvements and I’m now at the point where I’ve uninstalled Strava and use the Garmin app exclusively. Well done Garmin. Thanks for building a great app!.Version: 4.30

PhenomenalI love wearing my Garmin Venu 2 plus watch. I love all the features, everything on this. I love Garmin it’s self too..Version: 4.74.3

This app is excellentSo I am completely new to the fitness watch world, automatic dive watches and G-Shocks have been my go to in the past. Smart watches have never interested me because I don’t want to charge the thing every day. With the watch I have I don’t have to worry about that and the information this application gives you is astonishing to me. On a bike ride it shows you where you rode and it also shows you your speed by color overlay on the map. Riding into a 20 mph wind from the south? It shows you how you were slow heading south and fast going north. Want to know your heart rate, no problem. Want to see your speed graphically no problem. Your respirations, check. The list goes on and on. I have only used it for biking, swimming and walking so I have truly not scratched the surface of it. Get the watch, get the app and be happy!!.Version: 4.53.1

Great app but a few suggestionsI think this app is a great app as well as the garmin itself. I have a suggestion for the watch itself. If your compony ever decides to make a new watch I suggest that, you know how when you press start for an activity it starts straight away, i think you should make another option where you can press start and then beep 3 times then start because when i want to start a run i have to have my hand on my watch, which is quite awkward. I also think it should have a timer as well as a stopwatch. Great app and watch overall!.Version: 4.16

True MotivatorI purchased the Fenix 3HR and have been using this app with it. 3 years ago I finished my last Ironman race at port Mac and walk away from the sport. Work got really busy, so did life. Put on 20 plus kg. The watch and app is the best motivator I have ever used. It has a built in move bar. It stops you from getting sore so you can do two training sessions a day. There is so much data to look at. I really enjoy running again and looking at the data created after the run. I could write a book about this app and watch. If you're serious about getting fit and maintaining your fitness, you will not be disappointed. I have lost 20kg and it only took 5 months..Version: 4.20

Great AppThe app is fantastic however I have one suggestion. After exercising the Garmin watch and the bike computer shows the required rest time before exercising again. It is a really useful function but to find it it is hidden within the sub menus of the devices. I’m unclear why as it is probably one of the most useful things to know when not exercising. Also over exercising can be bad for health which is a good reason why it should be much easier to find. Otherwise love it..Version: 4.64.1

Loving it so farI’m loving my new Instinct. It’s a massive step up from my last one the Forerunner which would stop randomly and wouldn’t start unless plugged into to the mains. So forme it’s got me motivated again and I love the options of what sports I can record..Version: 4.49

Data Driven for better health“Don’t fight the data, fight to make the data better for over-all health.” Finally, an app and watch that gives you daily insights into quality of sleep, resting heart rate, HRV, and provides recommendations for how to make my workouts fit my over-all goals. I live by my Garmin Connect, and I’ve never been healthier. After 3 years of my personal data analytics, I now know when I’m getting sick before it actually happens. Slight variations in my data also alert me to high stress days and days where I’m at my best! It’s been a long road to getting better biometrics, but I’m proof that it can happen. But the journey begins with embracing the data that Garmin Connect provides and resigning yourself to getting better. Before Garmin connect, I was guessing on my health and now, I actually KNOW what my health is, based on data, not feelings. Knowing is the power to change it! Garmin Connect gives me that control over my own health!.Version: 4.74

Great Statistics but two problemsLove the app and it has been great to track my sleep and made me more aware of my daily step count. Two problems that I have though: the app theme is so dark and there is no way to change the theme to something lighter, I love the white theme on on a computer or the web and I wish this could be transferred over to the app!! Another problem is there is no way to add my goals to my dashboard on the app.. this means that I have no accountability to achieve them - out of sight out of mind.Version: 4.43

ExcellentI am a keen, amateur ultra runner. Previously used another popular make of smart watch. But changed to Garmin due to the other watches inaccuracies in data and map recording and for the long distance training runs I needed a watch which keep up with me. I have been using Garmin now for a couple of months and love it, the data analysis is excellent, especially since I’ve purchased a HRM Pro. I have been able to use the data to work on my form such as cadence and stride length. I have also learn areas which I need to work such strength workouts. I highly recommend garmin as they are the whole package..Version: 4.69.1

Could be betterWould be nice if health stats synced to Apple health automatically, without having to open connect app. Also it seems like the watches may gather additional information that Apple health tracks but it is not importable into Apple health..Version: 4.75

Great app…more activities pleaseIt’s great to track all of m activities and I love being able to see my weekly, monthly and even yearly totals. However, 3 of my biggest activities are not included in your list: curling, snowshoeing and kayaking! These seem like pretty common activities . Please consider adding them..Version: 4.74.3

Cell EReally good so far, small niggles. Counts steps before I’ve even got out of bed. Doesn’t record my awake times at night nearly as well as my old Fitbit did. But on the whole way more information collected and available..Version: 4.27

Best sports appAbundant data to look at and most importantly, it’s FREE!.Version: 4.74.2

Great for meMy first Garmin was a Forerunner 610 and it was my absolute favorite watch. Marathons to long trail runs it worked perfectly until one day I hit a tree (embarrassing I know) but I cracked the screen a piece of the screen literally fell off. It still worked for another year! Finally it died and I decided to give the Nike watch a try. I wasn’t crazy about the way it looked and it randomly died on my twice. So I decided to give Fitbit a try... I like Fitbit however, their software on the device has way to many issues for me. And the app leaves your yearning for more. Now this leads me to today. I have a fenix 3 hr and between the device and the app I couldn’t be happier. There are a lot of reviews on here saying about glitches in the app. The occasional slowness to update from my fitness pal is the only issue I have. And I wouldn’t really call it an issue typically I just have to close the app and open it back up. Overall I’ve used a lot of devices that also have apps and this is the best one of them all..Version: 4.16

Great motivating app but changing shoes is incomprehensible. This app is mostly well designed and it does help me to motivate and to understand my strengths and limitations. However, the data on my use of my shoes is all wrong because I can’t understand how I can edit the shoes that I use on any particular run. For instance I used my Hoka One One Mafate Speed shoes yesterday but the app insists on my Bondi II shoes which were entire unsuitable for that run. May I suggest that Garmin introduce a simple tool so that I can simply select my shoes for any particular run. Like many runners I have quite a few shoes that are all in use. A simple change like this would help Garnim to keep more accurate shoes use data too. Wins all round!!!.Version: 4.18

Garmin Venu and Garmin AppLoving my Garmin Venu watch and the app! Received it for my 50th birthday and it has kept me on track with moving, running, hydrating etc. sleep and stress analysis functions are also invaluable .. loving it!!.Version: 4.28.1

Great App when it worksI have a Vivofit4S. I love it, the functionality and the information on the app is great. I like the detailed sleep analysis and also monitoring of stress levels. However since I have had the watch (a few times a week) I have to start from scratch with setting up the phone (all the data is there when it connects). Many times it says the watch can not connect to the app despite the watch and phone being paired and connected. Once this bug is fixed five star app all the way..Version: 4.26

Watches are great, app is goodI use the Garmin Fenix 6 and I could not recommend it more. I’ve ran with it each day for 3 weeks and have also done kayaking and biking. I have only needed to recharge it twice, and the only negative has been a slight lack of tracking under even a few trees. As for the app, I would give it 4.5 starts if I could, but have given the benefit of the doubt. All in all it provides very useful information about your performance and overall health, but is slightly lacking in User Interface as opposed to other activity apps. The graphs are often annoying because I have not found out how to choose a point on the graph to see a value, you can only see the trend roughly plotted and guess (this goes for paces from your runs and also things like your heart rate throughout the night). I also find the calendar view largely useless, especially when compared to something like Apple’s activity rings. Don’t get me wrong though, the data Garmin provides is second to none, but largely a function of which watch you have purchased. In summary, Garmin provides as accurate and useful of info as any company does in the sports watch realm, but could stand to improve accessibility and aesthetics for some of that data in the app..Version: 4.32

Best watch everWe used to have Fitbits. We changed them for Garmin. One for my son, one for my husband and one for me. It keeps it battery very nicely. It connects to my health/exercises apps very easily. When this one goes, which doesn’t look like it will anytime soon, I will definitely go back to Garmin.Version: 4.74.3

Great devise and easy to use appWhat more could you ask for in a wellness tracker? I got it for golf but it tracks so much more and alerts me to important messages and phone calls. Love it!.Version: 4.76

Needs additional ”Other” Challenge OptionI’m competitive. App makes me do more with/against my friends. Fantastic insights and guidance. Please add an “Other” time based challenge that collects all time spent on your other category devices. There is more to life than just run, cycle, and swim. Help for those of us with worn out knees. Also using the watt output from Concept 2 ergos to estimate VO2 max would be fantastic too. Thank you for a wonderful app..Version: 4.62.1

Great Motivational ToolGarmin Connect is a wonderful tool to motivate. It’s really interesting how important a badge can become and the feeling of accomplishment that is felt when you’re able to earn one. The metrics are easy to interpret and are relatively accurate. When coupled with Fenix 5X the GPS metrics are a delight. I look forward to expressing my athletic prowess with the many features offered in the Fenix 5X and am excited at the thought of Garmin Connects potential readouts. And to add to the pleasure, I’ve connected a few family member’s through the app and we now challenge one another. The app offers the ability to share your metrics with those in or outside of your circle. Another great way to motivate you to try harder. I highly recommend a Garmin training device so that you can challenge yourself and others through pure innocent shame or competitive pride while becoming a healthier you. Excellent app..Version: 4.27

Best app and equipmentI use the garmin equipment and app from 2017 year. And I trust this company 🙏🏼.Version: 4.74.3

Garmin Fenix 6 proGot the watch and it was easy to set up. The app is easy to use. Used the watch with other Garmin accessories (speed and cadence sensors on bike). It connects and works fine. Overall a great experience with the app..Version: 4.26

Love my Garmin Watch!I track my kayaking and mountain biking adventures, and never have an issue! The sleep tracking app is pretty cool too. My only complaint is that at times I can’t get the app to sync all the way. It’ll sync most of the way, then just stop without updating all of the metrics. I have to try over and over before it eventually works. I made sure everything was updated, but l still come across this issue..Version: 4.74.3

Great multi toolI wanted a watch that was a tool to help monitor sleep, workouts, outdoor activities, heart rate, while also playing music without the need to strap my phone on somehow. I’ve already used the watch for several activities including row, run, walk and the metrics measures by the watch are better than I expected. I’m still finding the capability of the Connect app but I was looking into doing a 5k this spring and was surprised to find the 5k coach. Battery life and the claim of 500 songs are why it’s 4 stars. I’m not seeing a way to get the 7 days battery unless I strictly use it as a watch and not monitor activities. Music storage is not what was advertised. Maybe advertise it can hold X amount of hours of music because I went to building playlists and it filled up in about 110 songs. I will be checking to see if the length of 1 list just cut out the whole thing and I’ll update if I increase the amount stored. Overall I’m pleased with my VivoActive 3 Music watch and The Garmin Connect app and I’d recommend it to those looking for a multi tool kind of watch..Version: 4.13.3

Very good for the most partEverything you would expect to work Does. There are times the body battery doesn’t want to comply in the mornings but after a few mins it seems to show up. The syncing sometimes can also take some time but you just need to be a bit patient and it works out. It doesn’t have some activities I would like for example climbing but doesn’t bother me all that much. I like that you can link this to MyFitnessPal. It is much more in-depth health wise than Fitbit but like all things technical it can always be improved. I have an iPhone and haven’t had any issues setting up my watch as I know others have..Version: 4.39

Great app let down by a bug In latest updateHi, overall a great app. Lots of great features great tracking. Unfortunately the recent update has killed off the ability to recognise high aerobic exercise. Looking at the forums the fix is to revert to the old software.! Garmin you can do better. Please fix this significant bug ASAP please.Version: 4.72

Tracks my walking and distanceI can see my speed increase and fitness improve over time with this app. It would be even better if it synchros with myfitness pal. I looked it up and ems like it should but MyFitnessPal pal ignores it and uses iPhone data instead..Version: 4.29.1

Very good but would like to se it further developedI really like the Garmin App and find it and my watch tracker very motivating to keep moving. I really like the badges and challenges that I can choose to participate in, and they do motivate me. I wish however that there were more than 5 levels. Not sure what I’ll do once I reach level 5. Other than that I think the news feed is great and it’s fun to be able to see what my connections have been up to and leave comments and likes on their activities. I also appreciate how easy it is to transfer activities from my watch to the app, and the data that is collected is useful and interesting to review. Overall, it’s really good, I hope the developers continue to add improvements!.Version: 4.48

Ups and downs with long covidHave to be fair that it’s mainly a positive review. I was recommended to try this tracker watch to attempt to deal with long covid fatigue. I use the body battery to monitor stress and energy levels. When it gets down to 50 I rest to boost the battery and my energy. On this level it is like being told by a concerned relative you’ve done enough so take a rest. However I would like to see a setting that allows for recovery from illness. Also my respiratory consultant told me that spo2 levels will fall at night so having an average then of 80+ is not a concern. I do realise that my usage is not what the tracker is designed for, but as far as I’m aware, for my purpose, this is the best there is..Version: 4.44

Worth it!!A couple weeks ago a friend of mine talked me into participating in a sprint distance triathlon. Often I’d joke around with friends that my three least favorite activities are running, cycling and swimming. However, I am very competitive and very much into fitness. So I got talked into this triathlon. I knew I had to prepare but I had no idea how to. When all else fails, data is the key. While looking for the ideal fitness tracker, most of them seemed lackluster. When I found Garmin, and realized that they make much more than just GPS devices, I knew that it’d be worth a try. Ordered a Garmin Forerunner 735xt and the running sensor and off I went on my journey. Everything about this app is awesome! From the recovery advisor to the map of your run. The graphs that I show my girlfriend/trainer so that she can help me get better are easy to understand. It feels like it uses minimal battery in the background even when on constantly. Solid app, great hardware, flawless connectivity so far and I recommend it to all my friends and training partners!.Version: 4.13.3

Please improve “challenges” page..I love my “My day” page. I love how you can expand and collapse. I like how for more information you can click on individual cards. “Challenges” page in my opinion needs some work from Garmin. I access this page on a regular basis to check my progress. I think it would be nice to see progress of each challenge without clicking on it. I also think it would be nice to have all current challenges displayed on this page, I usually participate in more then just three.. “past challenges” don’t have to take as much screen space as “current challenges”, a link to “past challenges” would have been sufficient… “News Feed” is ok, but not great. But I don’t have good suggestions to make it better… “Garmin Coach”. I don’t use it much so I can’t comment on this page.. “Calendar” is missing something to be useful, don’t have good suggestions….Version: 4.55.2

Great data fields so you can see what you’ve doneThe Garmin Connect app is a great fitness tracking app. It has so many features and it’s great for people who are getting more into tracking their run data and exploring the possibilities of what it can tell you.Version: 4.63.2

Awesome app!Excellent app, been using it for years with zero issues..Version: 4.74.1

This App & These Watches are life changing. The amount of information this app provides is astounding. As someone who has had to make some life altering health changes this app and my Garmin Fenix have provided me with the tools I need to monitor so many aspects of my daily health and exercise to keep me on track. I don’t think I could ever go back. It’s like after having a mobile phone it becomes an integral part of your daily gear that you simply can’t live without. Track your sleep, HRV, calories burnt, heart rate, blood ox and so much more. Amazing..Version: 4.73.1

Great App now crashing when making manual entriesGarmin Connect is a great app and does most of the things for free that STRAVA now charges for. I used STRAVA for a very long time with Connect just operating in the background to transfer my data from my watch. Since STRAVA introduced charging for everything except the most basic data I have stopped using it and now exclusively use Connect. I don't miss STRAVA at all. DEVELOPERS - the app frequently now crashes to a black screen on iOS when manually inputting data such as weight. This requires fully closing and restarting the app to reset and allow the data to be re-entered. This is time consuming and annoying. Please fix it..Version: 4.56

100% recommendGreat smart watch. I love the in depth tracking during sleep as well as during workouts. Has also been great in programming runs/ workouts for me as I train for my first half marathon..Version: 4.74.3

Works wellSurprised by all the reviews concerned at problems syncing and with buggy app. Iphone7 and Fenix5 seem to work seamlessly together and no issues with app. Does all I need. Will track GPS for over 8 hours which is excellent..Version: 4.13.2

Garmin in GeneralI recently purchased a Garmin Forerunner 235, and I enjoy everything about it! It is so useful. It is lightweight, tells you your heartbeat, your VO2 max, recovery time, your aerobic training, and more. I didn’t realize all of the features I wanted were on the watch (there is no swimming, but I don’t really care). The app is what makes the watch so cool, and it makes it easy to see your mileage. Also, there are badges that you can get, and it makes the workouts feel like a game sometimes, trying to earn the badges. My mom now really wants one of these watches. I guess the downsides are that the watch dies after around three days, with you recording a workout session in all three days that last for around an hour. I don’t know how accurate the Garmin watch is, but I’m just glad that the features are there, because if I wanted more accuracy I would need to go and make myself uncomfortable for the day (heart rate while sleeping, deep and light sleep tracker, heart rate while running, etc). Sometimes it’s uncomfortable after wearing the watch snug for a couple of days. The “move!” Thing on the watch is a little annoying, but the pros outweigh the cons by far, and you even might be able to disable it. All in all, this is a great brand, and if you are obsessed with health and working out, I would recommend this brand for a lot of people. I got my watch on Black Friday for $150, and I don’t regret it at all..Version: 4.25.2

Very cool appI'm new to Garmin, just having bought a Garmin watch after my Fitbit failed and I gave up on the brand after consistent inconsistent product behaviour from Fitbit. Whilst importing data from Fitbit was a bit time consuming, I'm finding the Garmin app brilliant, particularly the "Coach" function. There is so much information to look at and you can choose what you want to monitor. In terms of it being compatible with other on-board phone apps, this app is designed for use ideally with a Garmin watch, so whilst you can use it with other devices or apps, it's going to work best and be simpler to manage with a Garmin watch or product. I'm very happy with this app..Version: 4.31.1

For all of life…This app makes all the amazing functionality of the fenix 7 (and I’m sure other devices) easy to use, review, expand, and deploy for many parts of life. I say this because the feedback from my sleep quality (duration, quality, and HRV) has literally changed my life. I wouldn’t say I was a heavy drinker, but it became totally clear how one or two beers in the evening affected my sleep, and the next day my training readiness would be in the toilet. Figuring out sleep, rest, training readiness, diet, and all of that has helped me beyond just my training. But I have also used the coaching to get back to some semblance of conditioning. I was a long-time triathlete and gave that up with some moves and a passion for rock climbing. And I’m still clawing my way back to a reasonable level of cardiovascular health with great programming from the coaches and Garmin. Really helps me to just get up and do what it says when I’m in an environment that doesn’t pull me out the door every day as it did where I used to live. Thanks for it all..Version: 4.61.1

Great appAmazing app no complaints at all very accurate for any and all sports love it.Version: 4.75.1

Just What This Fitness Enthusiast Needed!I got a Garmin FR645 as a bday gift to myself last June: I run, swim, lift weights, boxing/MMA & just keep active in general. I never realized what I was missing until I upgraded from a FitBit Blaze to Garmin! GPS tracking is on point on the watch & app, training stats are amazing to see where & when I need to adjust intensity & history is great to see how I’ve improved with better tracking abilities from Garmin. Yes, there are some glitches, but nothing to cry or scream about: pretty much everything tracks, monitors & gives guidance where needed. It’s great to pull up stats after a long run to see if VO2 Max is improving, cadence, HR Zones & pace (for those coveted negative splits!) & see how my cross training improves my running. The only down side is sleep doesn’t seem as accurate - it’s shown me asleep when I was watching a movie, but I’m more concerned with the other athletic stats so as long as I’m scraping 6+ hours of sleep I know everything else flows well. I was using MyFitnessPal to track calories consumed which it synced 99% of the time accurately which was nice to see the calories burned/consumed stats. I don’t track there much anymore unless I’m in serious training or trying something new to see how it may affect me but things usually flow between the apps well. Garmin syncs to MyHealth which syncs to my smart scale so everything is together. As long as I can keep active I’ll keep Garmin!!.Version: 4.38

User friendly functional appI’ve been using the Garmin app for several months and am getting a huge amount of use out of it. It’s easy to use as well as understand. You have access to a huge amount of useful data to help you reach your fitness goals. Highly recommend to anyone with a Garmin device..Version: 4.25.1

Love it!!Literally there isn’t a day that goes by I am not wearing my watch, the captured data is easy to decipher on the app and still amazes me what you can actually do with it!! It has simply changed the way I do things, I just couldn’t think of my active life without it!! I’d love to try out more advanced watches in the Garmin range to see if there would be a benefit but in truth I don’t think I even use my vivoactive 4 to its fullest potential. Simply Lovlegh!!!.Version: 4.74.1

Great stats, one annoyance. The data you can mine out of this thing is great, but one thing continually frustrates me. A while back they added a “Training Effect” tracker to the “My Day” page. If you remove/hide it, within a few days it reappears. That wouldn’t be so bad, but when it does it completely resets all the other items in “My Day”. Sorry, but when I’m using this on my elliptical, I want to see heart rate, intensity minutes, steps, and calories altogether, and I find it endlessly frustrating that I have to keep re-editing “My Day” to do what I want. Please fix the app. I understand you’re very proud of your training effect dodad, but I’m not interested. Stop forcing it on me *and* messing up all my other settings in the process. (And yes, I logged this on their support webpage within a few weeks of them breaking this, but no response.).Version: 4.28.1

Better than the restI’ve used Garmin for 3 years, I have just upgraded to Vivoactive3 with GPS and I absolutely love it. The app is user friendly and easy to see how you’re tracking at a glance. I would (and do) highly recommend these devices and apps to everyone..Version: 4.13.2

INCREDIBLE, Highly recommend!I've used my GARMIN vivifit 3 for about 5 Years now and it's been incredible. The battery lasts a year, it's water resistant(you can swim to depths of 50m, swim, snorkel, wear it in the shower, ect) and withstands a fair bit! I honestly love my watch and I'm thinking about buying a new one from GARMIN. The customer support is excellent and quick. They give you exactly what you need, are polite and helpful. The app is very good. If you're a woman it tracks your cycle which is very handy. I love how its very efficient and had a calendar to track everything. If I could improve anything it would be to ask if it was more efficient with guessing what sport I'm doing. It sometimes says I've been swimming when I've not which looks good but I haven't actually done it. All in all though it's great and I highly recommend!.Version: 4.58.1

Great appGreat app . good layout and lots of features.. Good job Garmin!.Version: 4.74.1

InstinctHi Hi I wanted a tough heart rate monitor as I recently had open heart surgery and like to keep an eye on my heart rate when exercising . As my job is tough on watches, I come from GShock . The Garmin has more features than I needed some were very handy txts are very good for me . The watch is very tough I haven’t marked it or drowned it yet. The battery lasts all week I just charge it Sunday night it still have heaps left . Only thing wrong is the weather forecast is a bit intermittent but I just use phone anyway.Version: 4.26

Love itApp and watch work do well. I like that I can customise it to my liking and everything is in one app. One improvement though, could you please add the ability to automatically send a text rather an email in the live track function. I can see that i can go into the phone and share it manually by a text, but would love to select a cell rather than an email via the watch face. This would be much easier :). Rating would be 5 if this functionality was available. Thanks :).Version: 4.41.1

Back Button on Menstrual Cycle - still not workingThe back button on the Menstrual Cycle page is still not working. Very frustrating as this means I have to turn off my phone every time I use the page/feature and then want to get out of the App. I think this has been like this for close to 12 months as well, wasn’t always an issue. The back button on the sleep page was fixed, so it is possible to fix. Otherwise I love my Garmin!.Version: 4.57

Changed my life.Garmin has changed my life, legitimately. This is the first time I’ve rated an app or pretty Much anything for that matter, previously I couldn’t be bothered to write a review but I would feel guilty not writing about my experience with Garmin. 1.5 years ago I decided I needed a heavy duty watch for work ( I’m a plumber ) and googled a bunch of watches and watched a bunch of reviews, Finally! I made up my mind to go with the instinct 2 solar. I loved it immediately, it was plain and simple everything I like in a watch, I started to use its features after a few months in and before you know it i was tracking my sleep, running, steps etc now 1.5 years on im down 27kg fit healthy happy and with a watch I feel that cannot be broken even if it fell into the pits of hell. All jokes aside I love Garmin and push everyone to get one or changed my life and probably would change yours to… ps your not charging it every 30 seconds either..Version: 4.69

Best brand for tracking your athletic performanceGarmin changed my life and I don’t think I could ever use another brand. The statistics on the app have me spoiled. I can analyse every small details from run, swims and workouts. And the battery life is second to none..Version: 4.75.1

EDGE 1030 Just Came Alive!!!Recent updates are really bringing some great but long overdue improvements. I’d like to see courses in its own category rather than buried in Training but its there. And regards courses, importing, editing and sharing GPX files is getting much easier and more reliable. Not sure its directly related to the app but my Edge 1030 is suddenly oozing with useful addition data. Knowing how many and when the climbs are coming, how long and steep they are, Climb Pro is so much more useful. I get jump notifications and a measure of hang time, flow and grit. Better scaling of maps during navigation with clearer directional indicators. The device is finally what i expected it to be out of the box after being initially underwhelmed. Overall, the app and device has come a very long way in recent months. Not perfect but going strongly in the right direction. GREAT STUFF Garmin, loving your work!.Version: 4.24.1

Everything I needLove this app. It instantly loads data after my runs. Connects to Strava easily. And also has a tracking function so I can choose people to see where I am while exercising. Particularly good for running in the dark..Version: 4.13.2

Great app that makes fitness functionalThis app has been with me for the better part of five years now. I’ve been through two devices, the Garmin Tactix Bravo and the Tactix Delta solar, both great watches with a lot of functionality. However without the use of the garmin connect app I wouldn’t be able to really dial in my training the way I do today. One of the coolest features is being able to import your own Gpx file to the app and side load to your device for custom routes that you can build from various running websites. Additionally the ability to utilize the virtual coaches have helped me become a far better runner than I could have been on my own. By using the coaching I’ve now completed multiple 5ks a 10k and I’m working my way through a half Marathon plan now. Over all this app has a smooth feel. The customizable Home Screen allows me to see all the data that I want and none that I don’t/ or do not care about. I also really like the “social media” part of the app through what’s called “connections”. Me and a few of my buddies are on similar training plans and it’s really motivating to see who’s cranking out the most miles in a week. This is the first review I’ve ever made on an app and that should be pretty compelling information because I’m one of those people who rides off the backs of other honest reviews. If you’re not using this app in tandem with your garmin device, you’re really missing out..Version: 4.61.1

AppWould have given 5 but for the having to open it to sync with the watch. Not really an issue and it may be some setting that I’ve done but if it automatically synced once a day at a specified time you would t loose the stats from a week ago that you’d forgotten about syncing at the time.Version: 4.49.1

Best fitness watch/app ever.Started with fenix 7, upgraded to 7x pro for more storage, battery and sapphire screen and added an HRM and recently added stryd pods to run with. Everything is tracked, logged and displayed on garmin connect. Mobile app works great and unlike other services the web services is fully functional so i can crunch numbers on my phone or my desktop and see how my fitness is improving. Gone from couch potatoe at 234lbs to 12% body fat at 190 lbs and running 75 miles a month as well as weight lifting, rowing, swimming and other activities. The entire experience is great - bought watches for family and my brothers. would love to see some attention given to groups to add more features since i created a family group - would be nice if it was easier for the share/comment and kid really hidden i. groups screen behind hamburger menu.Version: 4.74.3

Garmin everydayI love Garmin. I’ve been using it for 12 years and love it and will never use another watch to measure my activity. And for the first time, the challenges have really helped me stay motivated on my fitness this month, long may it last 💫💕.Version: 4.73.1
