✓ Better than the print magazineThe pictures are brighter and sharper than the magazine, and the addition of playable song snippets tied to album and singles reviews is another plus. This is a very satisfying app that offers an experience similar to print with the multimedia of a website, while being superior to both. If I had one wish, it's that RS would open up its archive to subscribers the way the New Yorker and the NYTimes has..Version: 1.1

✓ Great digital adaptationDon't get why people with a mag subscription are even bothering to buy a digital version of the same mag they get in the post every month.... The whining in reviews about standard practice of all major magazine apps is tiresome. Cancel your print sub... Logic. I think that's sort of the point of many of these publications going digital. Print is dying, time to transition people into the new era. I love buying Rolling Stone (among other music publications) when I'm traveling....but purchasing this app makes so much more sense, as I get to enjoy every month's addition now, and I save money ofc, by not paying stand prices + no magazine to carry around and lose before I'm done with it. Digital magazines just make sense, because I always found myself wishing I could listen to the songs being reviewed as I read. With this app I can do that, watch interview/trailers (just overall get more content) and be directly linked to downloads ect. Everything looks great, navigation is easy, no major technical glitches...not much more to ask for really..Version: 1.1

✓ Finally...I've been waiting forever for Rolling Stone to get an app and they finally did. It's a great interface, the issues are interactive versions of the magazine and not just PDF versions like some magazine apps. Great app and for now, I haven't noticed any bugs..Version: 1

✓ Nice app - clunky for current subscribersI am a print subscriber and was also very frustrated that I had to purchase a digital subscription. I did discover that Rolling Stone refunds the unused portion of your print subscription so I canceled that online and subscribed digitally in-app. This took a leap of faith (and will result in a one issue overlap) but it is not as dire as I first thought. I subscribe to other magazines that require that I receive the paper copy and, personally, that is more annoying to me than just getting digital alone. If you do want both for one price then, yes, this model is annoying. Arguably, Rolling Stone should make it easier on current print subscribers to evaluate the digital version (with at least a few free issues and an option to make the switch in-app). Despite a slightly broken purchase model that risks frustrating their most loyal current subscribers, the app itself is nice and the magazine 'pops' on the iPad. I couldn't read the print version without the iPad handy for looking up music and videos as I read. The digital version allows me to enjoy the read without balancing a magazine on one knee and the iPad on another. Snippets of music and links to more info on the RS website make digging deeper even easier. If you are willing to go all digital and don't mind the hassle of canceling online, I would recommend the app. Rolling Stones subject matter lends itself very well to a more interactive digital experience..Version: 1
