Pacemaker - AI DJ app for Negative User Reviews

Please bring the mashup feature free and not a monthly payment thingI didn’t really meant to say that I want to go to the owner’s house I was just very angry, but if you make the mashup feature free and comes with app first thing it can bring so much more people to the app and not delete right away when they find out that the one main feature of the app is paid because almost no one wants to pay for a feature in a app like digital currency in a mobile app so please make that feature free it will make me and others very happy..Version: 2.4.7

Barely any songsNeeds to improve song availability how am i gonna pay for this subscription and spotify premium just to have none of my fav songs to mix with.Version: 3.0.0

Keeps crashing? The new AI update just came out and ever since then my pacemaker app does not open it crashes as soon as it loads 4 seconds in.Version: 3.0.0

Excellent app! (When it works)Superb app that mixes flawlessly. There is however a serious problem with the app on my phone at least (ip7 plus). The app often becomes unresponsive for long periods and crashes completely multiple times. This is a very annoying problem and makes an otherwise brilliant app completely unusable!! Fix it Pacemaker!.Version: 2.6.4

GreedIsn’t it sad when a clever app that has been giving you lots of joy and for which you paid for full version suddenly falls victim to a greed virus? Oh ok, how much then? £2 a month to support starving developers? No, bloody £4.5 A WEEK for something that’s already been created? 🤔 The updated version does not allow you to use your own tracks from phone library which probably serves as an excuse for charging you AGAIN for access to music you already pay for. Sad and pathetic, can I at least get my money back I paid for the full version?.Version: 3.0.5

Money stealerIt forces you to buy premium just to play your first track do not download waste of time..Version: 3.1.2

Updated Version is UselessI used to LOVE this app and use it constantly even just to listen to music, but ever since they switched to this new version that requires you to subscribe its completely useless. None of the music I want to mix is even available to play anymore ! I lost all my mixes in the update because I can’t even play any of the songs. If you’re gonna try to make something useful for people to get into DJ-ing, maybe don’t minimize your audience by leaving out a whole realm of electronic and club subgenres..Version: 3.0.5

Disappointed with performanceI have been a Pacemaker subscriber for more than three years. When many of my playlists lost many songs, I loved the app so much I figured out could make it work. In the last week however, the performance is the app is dismal. It will not pull up tracks in my library it it takes FOREVER to pull them up. My phone and the app are all updated so I know that is not the problem. The search feature for tracks is also horrible. This is incredibly disappointing given that most members are losing a lot of tracks. Now we have a subpar app to deal with too. I’ll give it a few more weeks, and if it doesn’t improve, a subpar app and subpar tracks give me no reason to spend money on it anymore..Version: 3.0.1

DO NOT UPDATEYou’ll be forced into their 23$/month subscription otherwise you can’t play any songs.Version: 3.0.1

Not BadThe only thing i find bad about this is needing Spotify premium to be able to use this app and I find it pretty dumb I’m pretty young and only being able to mix 3 tracks definitely can get boring. So it would be good if it was not Spotify premium please. If that ends up happening it’s a five star review for me.Version: 2.8.11

Bad appCan’t do sweet F.A. Without paying for it don’t download I mean I mix in my free time it ain’t my job so why charge so much what waste of time.Version: 3.1.11

Spotify premium???I wish I didn't need Spotify premium....is there anything I can do in the app without it???.Version: 2.3.4

UselessCan’t do anything if you don’t pay..Version: 3.1.16

Used to be such a fan…I paid for this app back when it was a one-time payment. Enjoyed the features enough and liked showing it off to friends every now and then. Came back one day to find that I pretty much threw my money away since they decided to become a subscription based app. No discount for their early supporters, no new features to justify the insane markup in price. Disappointed in this business model, $4.99 a week is an egregious price for a mixing app of this kind. Maybe one day they’ll attempt to win me back somehow..Version: 3.1.4

No Apple Music, no songsWhile it's not obvious before downloading, this app currently doesn't support Apple Music. This probably has something to do with licensing, but it really devalues the entire app. Even though I have iTunes purchased music pre-Apple Music, it still doesn't let me use those songs, presumably because they now stream instead of physically download. For an Apple device app to not allow Apple Music it is really disappointing. I've given them 3 stars based on the intro video, but I can't actually use it myself :(.Version: 2.3.3

Honestly I was loving this App until...It started crashing anytime I tried playing one of my playlists. I’m an instructor and rely on this app to hit sprints perfectly and now I can’t even play music through it anymore. Please for the love of music and teaching fix this immediately. It was very buggy from the beginning often times not letting me edit transitions in the moment or I’d start a playlist and it would only play the first song and then stop. But now I can’t play my playlists at all!.Version: 2.8.2

UselessCannot play tracks PURCHASED ON ITUNES PROTECTED BU DRM. I PAID FOR THOSE, BACK TO VINYLS,TURNTABLES AND MY OLD BUT FAITHFUL YAMAHA PM 430 mixing board, OLD SCHOOL.Version: 2.6.2

You can’t do anything without payingMan don’t you love an app that only allows you to look at the songs you have and not play them, edit them, bass boost, change eq, or anything else without paying $35 a month for the use of a mediocre app. Maybe if I could use apple music on this it would be good, but nope, you can’t..Version: 3.1.6

A shameThis app used to be next level, the algorithm embedded to find songs that are a similar bmp is truly unmatched HOWEVER since this update / no longer having access to songs , none of my mixes work. I can’t make mixes at all with this limited catalog and ontop of that you have to paying 4 pound a WEEK to use it. It used to be 7 pound for the whole month but the app worked perfectly so I was more than happy, would have even payed more! But this? Its really a joke I’m sorry ? Paying more for less . Hope they sort things out!.Version: 3.1.6

NOT FREE -This app won’t even allow you to PLAY anybodies mix without subscribing to a trial. We all know that move too well. *never mind canceling it because its a tedious endeavour, and less than $10* Tsk tsk tsk - 1 Star , honestly..Version: 3.1.14

GlitchesVery creative app BUT the reliability of the program is very poor. The playhead glitches every time you move it, making it very difficult to properly play a certain part of the track and just moving the tracks when mixing them can become very annoying when they glitch. 😕 Please fix this to improve the apps functionality....Version: 2.4.3

This used to be a good application. As a completely blind person who is a DJ, are used to love this app. Granted, manually mixing on other apps is doable on the iPhone, but without any physical controller in my hand, it was more difficult. This app was even smart enough to change the EQ of the tracks depending on what part was playing. It was even smart enough to cut the tracks off at the exact times, just like a normal DJ would. However, The update that brought this social features to this app has completely ruined the accessibility, therefore making the app completely useless to people like me. And that was over two years ago, and it has not been fixed. Please make this app accessible again as soon as possible. I actually depended on your app whenever I was too tired to mix myself..Version: 2.3.10

ANGERYI’ve wanted to make a transition from where is my mind to feels like it only goes backwards, but every time I want to pick one of the songs, it tells me I have to pay, I clicked on other songs I don’t even know and I need to pay. What’s the point in making the app free when you have to pay for it anyway?.Version: 3.0.2

Subscribe to try for freeNo..Version: 2.7.5

A few “great” things about the new updateUpdate 3.0 was amazing I really loved these features: - you can no longer play 99% of your songs - you have to pay for pacemaker + to do anything now - Previously purchased effects from way back to before + are no longer usable without paying for a premium service (because you can’t use the app without a subscription) - the app is slower than slow - hopefully you want to pay 5 dollars a week to listen to like 10 percent of your previously made playlists! This update really knocked it out of the park! Great job! What the heck happened to this app. There is NO reason that I shouldn’t be able to use Pacemaker like I have been for the past 4 years. I paid for the ability to use features in this app and now I can’t even use those features without paying for a subscription. These guys are crooks. It doesn’t really matter though because even if I could still use the app without paying 20 bucks a month they quit supporting like 99% of there music anyway. Overall do not download..Version: 3.0.2

Free version is useless, paid version not worth the priceYou can’t do anything with the free version once you sync up your Spotify account, and how is this app worth $20 a month?? Absolutely ridiculous..Version: 3.1.12

Subscription really?!?!I purchased all the effects A few years back and I’ve been enjoying this app ever since now after this update I somehow cannot use it anymore to DJ I have to have a subscription to DJ while I already had power all the in app of purchases so for you guys to do that and not at least let people that have had this out for years now like stick with that or allow them to have that option which is DJ on that I use app it makes no sense I am very disappointed this is not an any Wayfare and get business I think you guys should consider reading this and changing your policy or just no subscription at least for me and those I have had this out for years now I depend on it since I’m a DJ and I can’t be paying for a subscription I just so dumb when there was no subscription to be paid a few months ago this is what you call innovation progress well I don’t see it I just see it as another way to make more money from us.Version: 3.0.3

Waste of timeThe app constantly logs me out of Spotify and makes it a hastle to log back in.Great at mixing, but is just a waste of time subscribing to such a buggy app that takes forever just to play mixes that I’ve already created 🤦‍♂️. Delete 💩💩💩.Version: 2.6.2

Usually amazing; not so good recently..I’ve used this app on and off for a few years now and me and friends have always had fun using it because of it’s straight forward, well designed ui. As of late, the app crashes after about 5 minutes each time I use it which is beyond frustrating. Hopefully fixed soon!.Version: 2.4.3

Where’s the Apple Music support???This is exactly the app I was looking for, but it has no Apple Music integration, so it’s pretty much useless to me. Disappointed..Version: 2.8.10

PriceHonestly, kinda disappointed. I used to love this app but now I can’t even go on without paying..Version: 3.0.2

Why Subscription only???So. Was super scores when I heard about this app. I’ve been waiting for someone to do this for ages. I’ve had a quick play and it seems to work well. Unfortunately I won’t be buying the premium version.. it’s on subscription and incredibly expensive. I have enough subscriptions already and this is not the kind of app that warrants one. Such a shame. A one off fee (reasonable) would be much more appropriate. Hopefully the developers will change their minds about this as its they only thing holding me back..Version: 2.7.1

Useless without the subscriptionUseless without the subscription.Version: 3.1.12

Fix ur app❤️This app is the best at what it does, I’ve tried a lot of these apps. The matching AI is good. The auto mixing isn’t great, but why get a mixing app if you’re not going to do it yourself you know. But my main concern is that at random times this app gets unbearably glitchy. I’ll play around with two songs and when I listen back to the stitch, my actions don’t register and I have to refresh the app to try again. Again, I love this app but it’s been out too long for it to be acting up like it does. Please fix, thanks..Version: 2.8.11

Ha! What a joke for an apppIf I could leave 0 stars I would. You thought blocking me on Instagram would keep me from getting the word out but NOPE. For an app the user pays for this thing constantly glitches and freezes. The new update literally wrecked all of your playlist and removed THOUSANDS of songs from the set list to choose from. “Stick with us” they said after 🥴 don’t waste your time or money you will only have about 10% of your music in your library to use. Maybe 1% of that will actually mix and then it will glitch anyway. I’m choosing not to curse so this doesn’t get taken off but rest assure I would if I could..Version: 3.0.1

AverageMix ins are usually out of time or sound awkward, can’t export or record mixes unless you’re using iPad version, when choosing a playlist to mix the app usually just mixes 10 songs from the same artist instead of a selection. Disappointing overall, you’re better off learning to DJ.Version: 2.4.2

New and Frustrated with No Help fr PacemakerI’m new to Apple products and Pacemaker. I have painfully and unsuccessfully searched for tutorials and information on how to use my iPod and iPad for pacemaker. I can’t change the bpm on my iPod with pacemaker, but I can sync the bpm on my iPad. I can save a plalylist on my iPod, but I can’t save a playlist or mix on my iPad. I can’t use my iTunes on either because my tracks are now with Apple Music. I purchased the year subscription for an app that is not integrated and does not have the same functionality on the iPod and the iPad! Im frustrated and disappointed that I wasted so much money and time in this app, the iPod and the iPad. We have sent emails to Pacemaker and have not received any response..Version: 2.7.6

Can’t access anything anymoreI made a mix on this app and my friends loved it, I would regularly play it at parties. I updated and now I can’t even access my own mix without paying $7 a week? If Spotify doesn’t support your app anymore then that sucks I’m sorry but don’t punish the users that made mixes before this happened….Version: 3.1.6

Not a free app, after download forced into trail/subscriptionI’m getting really frustrated with apps like these, as they seem very dishonest in their approach. If you say the app is free on the store and yet you can’t continue past the intro screen unless you sign up for the free trial, then it’s not exactly a free app now is it? If you’re going to charge six dollars for the app, then charge six dollars for the app and don’t hide it behind a *free* button..Version: 3.0.1

Dumbed downThis app illustrates how potentially good mixing software can be dumbed down in order to make money from in app purchases.Version: 1.1.0

DeleatHow can I get this off my iPad.Version: 3.0.3

Ya noSucks this is the only guys u can mix Spotify tracks with, because the ability to creatively input is very lacking. Re; with the removal of the Spotify support there is no need for this app anymore. The issue with creative input stems from the poor touch controls and lack of menus. Needs to be redesigned from the ground up with a new interface and the removal of the forced AI element..Version: 3.0.2

Very bad app..Don’t buy it very bad app.. as soon I downloaded it played one track and a message appear saying ‘drag the pink button which was disabled.. wasted 15mins and than the same track started again..I had to immediately delete the app...Version: 2.7.2

You will be missed ... RIPHonestly this app made my gym sessions hype, and car rides with the boys when I had the ‘aux cable’ the mix master. Cueing the next song to find out whether it would be a sick transition or an awkward one were all moments I had with this music app I loved for many years. But the latest update has destroyed it and it looks like it’ll never be the same again. Thanks for the good times!.Version: 3.0.2

WWill ask for my Spotify and when I do enter in my Spotify it will tell me to buy premium even though I have premium.Version: 2.8.8

New 3.0 version is completely unsatisfactoryI have been using this app and paying for it for the last several years and absolutely loved it. But since this new 3.0 update,I can only access a quarter of the songs from my old mixes. A 60 min playlist is now 15 min long at best. Not only can I not use my mixes anymore but everyone else’s mixes only have about a 1/4 of the songs in them as well. The selection that is available on there now is unsatisfactory to say the least. If pacemaker cannot get access to all of these songs back, I will have to cancel my subscription and use another app such as Rock My Run or Fit Radio instead. This app created a passion for me in making my own playlists for my classes. I feel like a part of me is lost now without it. Do not get this app unless they can get the rights back to all of the music they previously had! Make this right Pacemaker.Version: 3.0.0

A warning to othersI paid in full for this app and all of its add-ons previously. When I inquired about the removal of my access to an app that I paid for, I was given access to the old version via Test Flight, which has now been taken away as well, leaving me only to subscribe to pieced together half hearted software at an extreme premium. My only recourse now is to warn others to stay away. The app could change without warning and remove paid features or further degrade functionality for the same price or even more. You pay for access to the app. It never belongs to you. If you subscribe to it, treat it as if the features or the app itself could be removed at any moment. Don’t treat it as more than just a fun toy. It is the first app I’ve ever paid for and purchased all features because I was so impressed. At one time, this was exciting software. Fool me once….Version: 3.1.6

This is not the bestYou cannot cut track and or make them start at certain part.Version: 2.8.10

Seriously?Ok I’ve used this for years but when they made a subscription service I stopped why even make the app free if u have to pay to just use it??.Version: 3.1.12

Needs better instructionsNeeds some clear instructions for use on the iPhone. The app is not intuitive and despite what the developer says the video tutorials are useless. Once you mess around with it for a while you can start to work it out yourself, but it’s unnecessarily difficult..Version: 2.4.3

SubscriptionI have used this app before their $6.49/week subscription. Why do i need to pay to use the app now? Cash is king.Version: 3.0.7

AwfulI'm so disappointed with this app. I had two fantastic mixes that I loved to listen to on the car. I then had to pay a premium just to listen to them - not make them - but I thought I'd do it because I'm set to do a big car trip. I then found out thar almost all of the songs on the mix are gone for whatever reason, and they still have my money. Can someone please answer why? Or is Pacemaker just set on disappointing customers?.Version: 3.1.2

New improvements that will make your app even better!I would like to see the following improvements: Ability to search songs by artist. An option that allows you to analyze files so the BPM‘s are shown on all songs in the library. When the next song will not blend with the current song playing it should have an echo or some type of a non-abrupt exit/introduction. As the current song is playing (at the top of the app) you list songs that are nicely compatible with the current song playing. I would like to see your list longer than the approximately 10 to 20 songs. I will have further feedback as I continue to use your app. Let me know if you have any questions. -Thank you.Version: 2.4.5

You need some serious updatesI’m a set it and forget it type of guy. With that being said I purchased this app so I could make kill playlists with the feel of a DJ controlling everything. Using this app started of as a good thing but as of late as I’ve been using this app the playlists have been crashing halfway at random spots and cutting short of the playlist times. Since use this app for my group fitness classes these crashes in the app makes for uncomfortable silences at points in the class in which the energy from the music is needed most. I’ve tried emailing support but they don’t seem to really care. If this continues to be the case and updates aren’t made to solve this problem then I will have no issue with cancelling my subscription..Version: 2.8.0

APP GREAT, STORE TROUBLESPacemaker is an excellent app. However, I am very angered at the 'value pack': I bought the Reverb effect and now I cannot buy the value pack. That is ridiculous. In iTunes if you spend 2.99 on a 5.00 album you can buy all additional songs in the album for the remaining 2.01... Why doesn't Pacemaker do this? I am offended and disappointed and my wallet is angry too because now I will have to spend more money than I need to to buy the other effects. But of course, I don't think I will because now I'm just angry. Please fix this MAJOR issue so this app can be as awesome as I know it could be with a less RETARDED store system. 😰 >SadFace<.Version: 1.1.0

No SoundcloudWould rate 5stars if they had Soundcloud but they only have Spotify and iTunes so only a 3stars.Version: 2.8.0

Stole from me idkThis app took money without me knowing 😭😭😭.Version: 2.8.10

This app is a jokeAs a DJ, I was skeptical so thought I would try it. The trial version is an absolute joke. It is nothing more than a cross fade. It’s truly laughable. Didn’t even try to match the bpm. Maybe the full version does more but I don’t feel like getting scammed today..Version: 2.7.2

Cant even do anything without purchaseTitle explains it all, give us something.Version: 3.1.9

UselessI spent about an hour trying to get this app to work all it was successful in doing was annoying me with the constant sign in screen the inability to play a track except one out of my vast library the almost none tutorial doesn’t help 3-4 instructions on use was all that were given no further handy bubble tags with instructions followed and no online help to be found either a complete disaster of an app. I won’t bother down loading apps from this dev in the future..Version: 2.4.3

Paying appWell the creator of this should just straight up make the app cost something because without a subscription you can’t do anything and for 21$ a month I think I’m gonna pass.Version: 3.1.9

You have ruined this app! When I first downloaded Pacemaker, I absolutely loved it! I thought the concept was basic, the implementation was intuitive and generally fun to play around with. After some time, I had made 4 or 5 mixtapes consisting of 100 mins + of music, each track placed with precision - literally spent hours making mixtapes that sounded good and flowed well! Now all of that has gone to waste since your update of sourcing tracks from two labels... Every track on my mixtapes have a “?” Symbol and don’t function at all! Hours and hours of time wasted! On top of that, you’ve made the app paid only! Before the update, it was free to use (with basic features only). I feel like you lured users in with this free to use app, allowed them to invest time in making mixtapes, and then rendered the work useless! Then you expect them to pay? I’m honestly disappointed! I hope you can fix this or find a solution. I would happily pay if my work wasn’t ruined by your update. (Even though you’re charging a ridiculous amount... £240 a year? Really?) Hope you can improve..Version: 3.0.3

Frustrating...I used the iPhone app... found it really frustrating. Struggled to find any guidance about how to use it... I googled but couldn't see anything useful. I spent a decent amount of time trying to figure it out but gave up in the end as every time I zoomed in to a transition between tracks I couldn't get back out... tried every gesture I could think of but sometimes it zoomed back to the main timeline and sometimes gave me an account sign up nudge. I can't bear apps that are inconsistent in their responses to gestures. It drove me nuts and yet I persevered...! I have patience!!! 😄 but I still nearly threw my phone out of the window!!! It looked pretty mind you, and did a decent job of mixing tracks but I just wanted something simple to use for a wedding playlist... Not for me but at least it was free so I didn't lose anything!.Version: 2.3.4

Another ripoff subscription app >_<Yeah so it’s basically mixmeister for iOS but like all apps today it’s asking WAY too much in payments nearly £20 a month are you having a laugh, that’s £140 a year, consumers like myself would rather pay once or pay less for a subscription so yeah fix that I’ll use your app but for now I’ll stick to others such as djay for iOS and mixmeister, traktor for pc. “Drops mic”.Version: 2.7.2

This is just sad to seeI remember using this app about 6-7 years ago and when i used it, it had loads of good music to be honest it felt like it had every one that i needed to make a party have a good vibe but now, it simply does not have any music that is relative at all. All the music in pacemaker + is a joke like honestly does anyone really know any of these artist let alone listen to them, honestly i give up you tell us to wait and bear with y’all but come on be real feels like this will never change no one seems to collaborate with this app and all i see is steady decline. Just disappointing and sad… Best of luck.Version: 3.1.9

Don’t bother downloading unless you have $8/wk to burnIf you just want to have a mess around and mash some song together….look elsewhere. Unless you sign up to the trial, the app paywalls you into submission. I get that the devs have to pay for the music on the platform, but you need to work out how to fund it through Adsense….not scare people away with stupidly overpriced subscriptions and a pay walled app.Version: 3.1.6

Everything has to be premium now?Used to be able to use basic features without subscription, now everything is behind a paywall? Will no longer use..Version: 3.0.5

Used to be the best free appI upgraded and now I’m told I have to pay. Not sure what happened or changed the business model - but for us casual users who just wanted our music to mix whilst we drive our cars to and from work - this was a kick in the teeth. Hopefully someone will simply just fill the void - but there really should be an option to upgrade to “serious” mode or remain in casual. A real shame because this was the best in the market- hands down..Version: 3.0.1

No subscriptionIt should be used without subscription. It was a great app but not recommended anymore..Version: 3.0.7

User since 2019 — time to delete this app.Deleting because it used go be free and now you can’t even use the app without paying. Unfortunate as I used to use this app frequently and rave to others about it..Version: 3.1.1

Can’t handle Drum & BassIt’s ok, but really struggles with the complex beats of drum and bass. Although the tracks are synced BPM wise, they don’t match the correct 4/4 pattern. So instead of the next track coming in on the 1/4, it will usually start on the 2, 3 or 4, or worse, somewhere on the half bar. Some work ok, but that’s more luck than anything..Version: 2.4.9

No functionality without subscriptionDon’t bother downloading unless you’re ready to pay $9/month right off the bat. The app doesn’t do anything until you subscribe. Can’t even play the music stored on your own device..Version: 3.1.15

RUINEDThis app was so great it had so many songs available I use this app a lot just because I like the idea of a perfect transition into each song, it would add a personal touch to a mixtape I would make but I then stopped using this app and when I came back to it YOU HAVE TO PAY TO USE EVERYTHING ON THIS APP NOTHING ON IT IS FREE you have to subscribe to listen to other people’s mixtapes and you have to subscribe just to make your own mixtape and the price is ridiculous this app was once great but now it’s daylight robbery that’s what it feels like..Version: 3.1.9

Ruined their own appI used this app back in 2019 when it was free to create and listen to mixes using spotify. the app was great fun and felt the premium was a bonus rather then a necessity. it’s sad to see that they have ruined such a fun and amazing app for more monetary gain. unfortunately not recommended in 2021.Version: 3.0.7

UselssDon’t download this if you’re not prepared to spend 24 dollars/month, if you dont you literally cannot do anything in the app, and the main feature is transitioning, 24/month for transitions, devs, please make a free version that allows you to do like 3 transitions a week or something.Version: 3.1.12

LET US KEEP OUR MUSIC PLEASEAs a fitness coach, pacemaker is an amazing app to let us personalize our playlists without having to play with our phone to change songs. I’ve been using this app religiously for years and have about 200 mixtapes I recycle and continue to make new ones. But PLEASE, LET US KEEP OUR MUSIC!! Too many changes in music licensing and we are losing all of our past playlists with updates. Please, keep it the same and let us keep the playlists already made and don’t take our songs away!!.Version: 3.0.0

Simple yet not that intuitive for a new userThe minimal user interface in the app is visually nice, however when it comes to mixing it isn’t that straight forward. Additional to this switching between the transition editor and whole mix editor is extremely frustrating. On the positive side, it’s an intelligent app, which brings good fun to your song collection.Version: 2.8.8

SadI had it once for free and it let me do any song I wanted but I deleted it then renown loaded it and now it’s making me pay for it! Honestly I could get Netflix or Disney + for cheaper!.Version: 3.0.1

A Cluster of Bad UI with confusing and pointless features.I feel like the developers wanted to make a sleek and fluid app UI, which I totally applaud. It’s almost 2020 and ugly apps just aren’t it. That being said, there is an extent to which trying to oversimplify stuff that already works just doesn’t help. Navigating the app is an absolute NIGHTMARE. Confusing main menus literally make it so hard to find the simplest stuff. I was in the middle of my 300 minute playlist of the Godspeed You! Black Emperor playlist and decided to go looking at other playlists; but when I was scrolling through the laggy and annoyingly heavy-feeling public playlists, it would select a random playlist because it cares more about being a good looking, fundamentally broken, and annoyingly dumbed down app. You guys feel like it is a good idea to restrict so much view space and go for this abomination of an app style. Seriously reconsider..Version: 2.7.7

DisappointedTruly sad that this app needs a subscription now. I don’t even understand how to use it because no matter what song i pick it tells me to pay for a subscription. Really sad because this app was really cool!.Version: 3.1.12

BuggyHi, ive been playing with this app for a while now and I loce it. But if I'm going to pay this much for it, I would really appreciate if you guys could squash at least most of the bugs. On my iPhone 12, I have experienced spontaneous crashes, the scrubber completely ignoring me when I touch it with my finger, and most of all, when I add a new song, very often there is not transition that shows up on the timeline and pressing that little lightning button literally does nothing (even when I jam it repeatedly). The fix for all of these issues is always the same, restart the all. But it's frustrating how often I need to do this.Version: 2.8.11

Game over, time wastedLast year I did have some fun with this app and spent hours making some nice mixes on the free version. I decided to download it again and now can’t get past the subscription page as it paid only now. Disappointed to say the least and can’t justify such a hefty weekly fee. If you charged that much per month maybe I’d have gone for it!.Version: 3.0.6

PriceI once bought this app for about $6 a few years ago, and just re-downloaded it to check it out. I managed to get past the trial screen to attempt to use it (there is indeed an “x”), only to find out that it’s useless without the subscription! I understand paying if you’re using the Spotify stuff, but I believe I should be able to use this without charge if I’m using the music I bought on iTunes....Version: 3.0.3

Best mobile based mixing app... However...Pacemaker is really a fantastic app. I have hosted a number of summer party where the music was played solely through pacemaker. Everybody loved it!! Unfortunately however anytime I open this app and begin adding songs, it crashes repeatedly. Pacemaker, please fix this issue more effectively before fans like me walk away from purchasing premium services. Please also let me know if it has anything to do with my phone build, I currently use your app on an iPhone 6s.Version: 2.5.5

Bugs and too priceyThis app was fun but some tracks are just skipped for no reason forcing you to reinsert the track in the mix. Also, it’s too pricey I’m sorry..Version: 3.0.1

PriceI just wish it was alot cheaper to get it per month.....Version: 2.8.11

:(Literally breaks my heart to come back to using this app and finding out that Spotify has pulled out. I’ve used this app in the past to DJ for friends weddings and now it’s my turn to get married and I can’t do my own hahah I think a big piece of the catalogue that’s missing is “old school” pop, Motown, 80s-90s music. I’ve come across too many karaoke covers to no longer pursue this app for now. I’m aware this is not the fault of the team at Pacemaker but more the inconvenience of Spotify withdrawing access to its API. All the best !.Version: 3.1.12

You have to payYou have to pay to play.Version: 3.1.9

Retried after 2 years, wish it wasn’t a subscriptionI stopped using the app in 2020 because Spotify wouldn’t work with it. I retried it and Spotify works now, but I wish the app was a one time purchase instead of a weekly subscription. It’s just too expensive when you’re only using it for fun. Even without the premium version, I like it how it is with just Spotify music and the basics for mixing. To use the app it would be better if we didn’t have to pay just for the basics. Other than that, I like it because it’s simple and easy to use. Will miss this app a lot :/.Version: 3.1.11

Rip OffTotal rip of the price is insane. never installing again. was fun while it lasted..Version: 3.1.4

Trash ass appThis app is so annoying to use, frustrating when it keeps replaying my mix when I’m editing it ffs.Version: 2.8.5

No longer free and losing customersA app that use to have free capabilities to have fun. Now have to subscribe. Waste of time and space. Don’t bother downloading.Version: 3.0.2

Horrible and useless appFor the price defiantly not worth it. And the free version is 100% useless! Highly DO NOT recommend. Big waste of your time downloading this crap..Version: 3.1.16

Groovy, but missing something.Simple to use, minimalist design which is great but like others have said there's a few things that could do with a tweaking. Would love to see the auto dj option add effects, it seems currently it just overlays them. The song match system to be a little more accurate, but I also understand that would be tricky for a computer to tell. One thing I feel this app is really lacking though, is the ability to re-play/save the mix you've just created. It would be awesome to be able edit it too. Then you could pre-dj a mix, save it and play it at your party and not have to think about it as you enjoy yourself. I would also like to note that not all the in app purchase options came up in the app I had to search for them. I also felt they were very highly priced, but perhaps I would consider them if I can save my mixes. Clever little app, can't wait to see where it goes. :).Version: 1.4.1

Great App!Love this app. But the weekly cost to go pro is barmy..Version: 2.7.5

Doesn’t stay loyal to the old usersUsed to love this app. So much so that I purchased the add on effects etc to make the app so much better. Now they have out the whole application behind a subscription paywall and I can’t even use the app at all without signing up. This includes the effects I purchased. Real kick in the nuts for the long term users of this app..Version: 3.1.2

2017 I paid for this app. The full versionIt stopped working, and my restore purchase didn’t allow me to restore. Then it looks like it went to a monthly fee. Even though I paid for the full version. Didn’t like being ripped off. I hope I can get this looked into..Version: 3.1.16

Need to add Save optionThere needs to be an option where you can save your mixes to your iphone because I can't share any of my mix's or post any of them!.Version: 2.8.9

What am I paying for?80% of the songs from Spotify or Apple Music are not available. I do have Spotify Premium yet I can still only choose from a small handful of songs. I would be happy to pay for a full product but this is clearly not it..Version: 3.1.11

DisappointedGot the app on 2013. Paid for every extension. Used it a lot. And now they charge subscription? Is there anything out there for the idiots that supported you from scratch? At least give me my money back!!!.Version: 3.1.5

So many glitchesPacemaker glitches constantly. Will not play playlists or gets stuck on the same songs. I’ve submitted for help before with no reply. I recently downloaded pyro to replace it and haven’t had any issues. I absolutely do not recommend pacemaker to anyone especially those that use it for group fitness classes. It’s caused far too many problems and to pay what I do monthly such a simple issue should not be recurring. I’m shocked that there aren’t more reviews stating this bc the company I work for I hear multiple complaints about the same issue daily..Version: 2.8.2

It only works if you pay moneyDisgusting.Version: 2.8.12

Almost love at first sightWhere to start? Was getting into it... tried to add a new effect. All it suggests is some crazy $5 A WEEK subscription. Sorry, this is NOT a $260 a year app by any means. Where are the individual effect purchases listed on the App Store? That’s super reasonable and a pretty awesome business model. Then I’m getting used to it and getting into it and jamming, then suddenly it jumps to the very beginning of my mix and I’m like what the heck is going on?! Where’s the play head? Sorry. This app is so desperately needed... perfect working and functional contrast to the other lead dj app here. Fix the biz model and back button UX mess, and you could win. Do NOT make this a forced subscription for FX. Check reviews of that other app, and you’ll see they get nothing but grief from let down customers. Good luck. Hope you make the right choices. I was seriously ready to give you $10 right off the bat for the FX pack, but can’t even figure out how to do that the UX is so bad. Way to ruin our first date. Don’t want to, but maybe have to move on..Version: 2.6.4

I was told the app was free from multiple sourcesI tried using MY MUSIC on the app and it just prompts me to get a subscription, so painful.Version: 3.1.13

TOTAL BAIT AND SWITCH (And They Know It)So the app opens up, even loads up your songs from Apple Music. And then, it happens. You’re offered to subscribe to Pacemaker+. You decline and you’re back at the song list. Press your song choice again, and it’s back to the ad. At this point, you realize this is a bait and switch. Nevermind they forced people to update without publicly acknowledging the major changes ahead. So disappointed they don’t even offer the regular dj features anymore. I’ll find a replacement app, but nothing will beat it. And regardless of the reply, unless it’s offering your users the ability to revert to just the core app, nothing will be of true resolve..Version: 3.1.4

Why even have the pop up?Why do you have a pop up every time someone touches their screen? Better yet why even have it be a free download, there is not a single thing in this app that you can do without plus, YOU CANT EVEN LISTEN TO OTHER PEOPLES MIXES THAT THEY POSTED. The pop up that never leaves should not say “get the full experience” because you don’t have anything to begin with. What you should have put is “get the experience” just leave out the full and then it wouldn’t be false advertising and lying to everyone who downloads the app. You couldn’t even put like 20 tracks people could have used to test the app before your greed took over?.Version: 3.0.1

Battery...Sadly, this app seems to be a huge battery killer. Not sure if it's because of the extra resources it requires to access my music through iTunes Match but over the last few days it's rendered my phone dead far quicker than any other music app I use. It's a shame as I enjoyed using it. I agree with other reviews that it would be good if it was beat matching songs to mix but I guess that's something to work on..Version: 1.4.1

Unusable without purchaseCan’t do anything without purchasing first. Obscenely expensive too Over a year, you could own a hardware controller (DDJ 400 or 200). Allow users to try..Version: 3.0.1

£4.49 a weekThat’s right, £4.49 a week! £226 a year. For that price within a couple of months you could buy yourself a set of actual decks and learn to mix yourself rather than getting a computer to do it for you. I didn’t even bother activating the free trial because there’s no chance it can do anything that makes it anywhere near worth that (NB, one of the three selling points of why you should pay over £200 a year is that you get to set your own profile picture. Excuse me if I don’t get over excited by that).Version: 2.7.1

Overpriced to oblivionChanged prices from $22 for 3 months to $7 a week. Pathetic. Never subscribing again..Version: 3.0.5

Money grabbing in effect nowImagine: having a customer pay $40 a year for the app, and it works well for over 5 years. Then they decide to go for the cash crab and increase it to almost $200 a year and making it WORSE! That’s what they’ve done to this app. And if you’ve got a yearly plan, the app (after asking for a while) just wholesale switches you to the new option (where you can’t sync songs from your library EVEN if you have Apple Music, nexuses the old subscription hasn’t ended and you can’t pay for the new one yet). Just a disaster. Almost like they “Whedonized” the app, like Joss Whedon totally destroyed a great movie like Justice League. Avoid! And this is coming from a former supporter and promoter of this app..Version: 3.0.3

Pretty decent functionality, way too expensiveFunctionality on iPhone is decent, but seriously too expensive at £4.99 a week! Would be great if the iPad experience could also have the iPhone functionality rather than being a separate app altogether. Would also be great to be able to play back mixes on Sonos..Version: 2.8.5

No one at the company replies to emailBeen trying to ask the devs about why you can’t scan the library to get better matches to each track. IE to scan your local songs on the iPad to get the BPMs. Also the facility to sort by albums, not just songs. They never bother to reply. Very frustrating. Steve.Version: 2.4.3

Unusable.Zero functionality without paying. No, a week trial then OVER TWENTY DOLLARS A MONTH thereafter does not count..Version: 3.1.9

Was a great app before subscription baseI absolutely loved this app when I original purchased it. I paid a flat fee for Pacemaker and loved it so much I invested more money into it purchasing additional type of effects. Then one day Pacemaker got a update and was now monthly subscription based? Now if I wanted to continue to use Pacemaker I needed to pay $5 a month. Apple shouldn’t allow apps be able to suddenly go subscription based. Now the app is useless. Does not work unless you subscribe. All the money I invested into the Pacemaker is gone. Very disappointed..Version: 3.1.1

Not worth itNow that Spotify has pulled out it’s definitely NOT worth the price tag to pay per WEEK.. it’s high way robbery especially since you don’t allow anybody without your app to listen to the mixes so they will fall on deaf ears anyway. Use a free DJ app..Version: 3.1.2

You need SpotifyAs an Apple Music user I was really disappointed to see that you need Spotify to use your songs. So I downloaded Spotify and made an account only for it to tell me I need Spotify premium to use it. On top of that you need Pacemaker+ to use the studio and other stuff, which means I’d have to $16.50/month CAD just to get the full package. It’s a shame cuz I’ve seen what you can do in pacemaker and it’s pretty amazing..Version: 2.8.10

Updates makes you pay a weekly fee for features that you purchased in the pastBeilliant app. I used it a few times 3 years ago and paid for a couple of filters at the time since i was enjoy it. I was shocked though to find out that mow, you have to pay 5£ per week to use those filters!!! (I already paid for them them at the time and now they re gone!!! This is absolutely disgusting. I understand that the developers need to make a living but taking features away that people have purchased in the past is very wrong..Version: 2.6.3

Waste of timeRubbish I used rate this app but now it’s garbage.Version: 3.1.16

What is happeningI am so sad to say that my Pacemaker no longer works properly and it appears that I am now being hijacked to pay $4.99/week. It worked fine until I began taking the updates. I paid for this application over 4 yrs ago and put it on my iPad and iphone but when I go to tap the link to restore purchase it does not work. I am now left with an app that is useless. $4.99 per week is also highway robbery. I have a gig to do in 2 weeks and I am now in panic mode and so terribly sad that supporting them even paying a fee back years ago does not allow me continued usage. I’ve even sent in fantastic feedback as a deejay and music curator respected the world over for my achievements in the world of soulful dance music. I am one of 11,500 voting members for The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and signed developed and released a body of of music of 1000 singles and 80 LP’s Licenced signed and appreciated the world over. There’s no way for me to even contact customer support when the application opens up as well. Hopefully someone reads this at the company and does the right thing here reinstating my original purpose..Version: 3.0.6

Expensive noveltyThis app could be pretty useful and more convenient if we were able to save mixes offline, had more control over how we cut the music up, and just general bug fixes. The app tends to get very weird when you use it for prolonged periods. While I understand that not all of this is in their control, what is in their control is the cost, For a fun little novelty they charge $5 a week, or $8 a month!.Version: 2.7.7

EXPENSIVEThis is a great app and really does liven up a good party at home. Very easy to use and basic ( in a good way). It’s great that you can play all your favourite tunes and mix them to how you want. The one massive problem is the price. £5 a week is far far to expensive for people that just want to play around and enjoy a bit of amateur home mixing. I don’t understand why the makers have put such a high price tag on this. I have deleted the app since this price has been put in place. £5 a month seems more realistic. 3 stars for how good the app is but lost 2 stars for the hefty price tag that comes with it. Please sort that pricing out..Version: 3.0.1

Previous Purchases?New update - I can’t see anything new apart from change in business mode - Ok you’ve changed the business model - now needs subscription to get the effects etc. But what about previously purchased effects? There should be an option to restore purchases..Version: 2.7.1

Good but needs improvementConstantly lags every time I use it and some songs aren’t compatible to transition.Version: 2.7.2

Not worth the new price tagAs much as I enjoy this app, it just doesn’t feel like this new structure is sustainable unless you make some changes. While I think it is fair to put a cost to make mixes, it should be free for everyone to listen and give feedback. The community aspect of Pacemaker is what drew me in at first and it feels like it’s diminishing. You could even take a Spotify approach and include ads for free listeners to at least get some kind of revenue..Version: 3.0.7

Don’t Update to 3.0I used to love this app. Would use it’s automix feature when I want a simple mixtape for a night walk or drive. I was able to do that for free even if I couldn’t adjust the weird transitions or levels. Something I was fine with. The auto mixing feature on this app is amazing and the best I have seen for a quick to go mix. But unfortunately, you have to pay $8 a WEEK to use this app now. I get every app developer needs money and there are music licensing issues that Pacemaker has been dealing with, but I have no idea why they won’t let free users exist on the app anymore. I have used this app for about a year now and loved it. I wished I could just do a one time buy to keep using it. I would easily pay $15 dollars or so for it, but the subscription model as finally turned me away and made it unusable for free users. I can’t justify spending over 20 bucks a month for a mixing app, and I have a feeling most people won’t either..Version: 3.0.0

Can’t play my own tracks….So I bought all the fx possible. Used this app since the beginning and now I can’t mix my own mp3s without paying for pacemaker+?! Disappointing… uninstalled. Spotify was a big hit but not allowing me to mix my own mp3 is really bad lol..Version: 3.1.9

This was a great appI loved this app and used it for about a year but the recent update has made it impossible to use your own music library for mixes without paying for the subscription. I recommended this app to a lot of people but am disappointed that you now have to subscribe even for using your own music..Version: 3.0.1

I paid and now I got to pay again?I used this app Once a month , I bought all of the effect plug ins. After a year of not using it because of Covid I open the app and now it wants me to pay per week. Feel ripped off. You need a better payment plan..Version: 3.0.7

😕This used to be my go to app for song mixing then it got updated and now I can’t use my own music from ITunes on the app without having to get the subscription! I would not recommend unless you are willing to get the subscription..Version: 3.0.3

No offline listening ability = UselessInability to download and listen offline make this service useless. You can not go for run and listen to music in low network coverage, not even in car if you are driving in outback where there is no or little network. Can’t listen in airplane. Given how it is highly priced you wander what exactly you would be paying for! Most competitors offer better service with less price. Music catalog is so limited.Version: 3.1.6

Useless if free useYou can do absolutely nothing with the free version. Nothing.Version: 3.1.14

Great Idea, Poor ExecutionOn a surface level, this is a great app. I appreciate the BPM analyzer recommending potential next tracks when building a playlist, and the editing ability (pro subscription) is good. However, for the life of me I cannot understand why - if you were only going to allow playlist creation and editing on one platform - you would choose iPhone over iPad. Maybe the developers are under the impression that “less is more” when it comes to screen real estate, but I’m here to tell you that that is not the case. At all. Very frustrating having to edit on such a small screen - and I have a 6s+! For this reason, I am searching for another (more user friendly) way to edit my playlists. My sausage fingers have had enough with this app..Version: 2.3.6

Unable to see my old accountA while back when I first used this app I purchased several in app purchases like sounds , effects, and many more . But now not only did they scrap all of my playlists but also took away all of the add on’s that I had bought already. On top of all this it is now forcing me to pay 4:99 in order to even hear a playlist let alone mix . I used to live this app , now it’s just going to sit in a pit because nobody will pay that price ..Version: 3.0.2

Needs WorkUnfortunately, the iPhone version is a huge disappointment when compared to the iPad version, the absence of some of the most useful features renders this version useless. It’s essentially an app offering song matching based on BPM as its greatest asset, I don’t want to be unkind, but otherwise it’s just a glorified fade/transition tool. Not useful at all, even with the extra features available for purchase. I’m not sure who could actually find great benefit from using this app. It won’t mix anything for you, which is fine, but it won’t allow you to adjust songs to match each other either, so that part is definitely deceptive. Update: being able to adjust transitions between songs isn’t that groundbreaking. I’m not sure of why the functionality is so limited in the mobile version. Maybe to encourage purchase of the iPad version? I don’t know..Version: 2.6.2

Long Time User CancelledI’ve been a long time user and absolutely loved this app. Unfortunately the price has just sky rocketed. In that process the app hasn’t been made that much better. This costs more than what I pay for Apple Music for my entire family and Apple Music has way more music. If this app was better, like consistent across iPad and iPhone, AND if I could stream my mix tapes via Apple Watch it might be worth the price. The only thing the Apple Watch is good for is a remote control to your phone, which it’s been like this for years. Make the Apple Watch stream the mixes so I can use this expensive app when I go on runs and I might consider the cost. I pay for an entire office suite from Microsoft for less. It’s just too expensive..Version: 3.0.2

Used to have this, now I don’tI used to use this app just for low-key fun when it was free. Now that I have to pay $7 a week.. nope I’m out. You should have a free option that includes ads or limited things you can do. Then those who want to have more can buy it..Version: 3.1.16

Most expensive app I pay for, is it worth it?I pay more than any other app for this, $15 every 3 months....and EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I load up the app I am confronted with “Do you like Pacemaker? Leave us a review! No? Tell us why!” and have to perform thumb gymnastics to get to the TINY X at the very top right of my 8+ screen. Their blatant disregard of the “In-App Ratings & Reviews” setting in the appstore (and Apple’s lack of enforcement) are very disenchanting for my most expensive app. I second other reviews about the dismay of the fx being subscription based. I understand the “it costs money to make all the wheels go around and provide our users with a killer app and constant upgrades” mentality but that doesn’t jive with the amount of money the developer makes from sales of the vast and unique data harvested from us users. Not to mention they most likely already have oodles of venture capital... YES the ui/ux is way slick. However, navigating around users, globals, recommends is a cumbersome nightmare. The inability to adjust the BPMs from track to track is a joke and almost defeats the entire purpose. WHY ARE THE IPAD APP AND THE IPHONE APP SO RADICALLY DIFFERENT!? The features avail on ipad are sorely needed on the iphone version and vice versa. Again, for the amount of money I pay, I would expect more. All these rants aside, I still use the app and the automix feature does a freakishly good job most of the time..Version: 2.6.5

SMHI had this app when it first hit the market a couple years back. This was my go to app. before you only had to pay one price to receive all effects. Since then you’ve lost more then half your musical catalogue , you can’t use the app entirely without a subscription. before you could at least dj your own music library not anymore. this five dollars a week is Ridiculous especially since you no longer offer the features that made this app great. “djay” app which is considered the best professional deejay app on the market is cheaper then this just saying..Version: 3.1.11

Downloaded and nothingAs my title says, I downloaded the app and I only get the splash screen. It finally opened and I looked at the mix that was available, saw I have 10 sessions, listened to the one mix that was available, and I get bumped to 6 sessions available.. how is that when I only listen, is that the way the app works? There is a seven day free trail, I’m not dutifully I’m interested...so what’s the deal, I actually get in on Monday , do a mix, listen seven times and it’s Sunday... seven days pass by? Yeah, don’t think I want the hassle or the hustle..Version: 2.6.0
