Ivory for Mastodon by Tapbots for Positive User Reviews

Perfect app for MastodonTalbots has been making apps for a very long time and Ivory shows this experience and attention to detail perfectly. This app is way ahead of the other Mastodon clients in look and finish yet it is still in Early Access. This is because the tap or folks are never satisfied with “good enough“ and strive for great. If you are looking for a great app for Mastodon you just cannot go wrong with Ivory..Version: 1.0

This should be the official appI appreciate all of the work that went into the official app, but this just blows it out of the water. From a UX perspective this is incredible. Animations are satisfying, menus and icons are clear, and customization is top notch. Good work guys! Keep it up!!! My only bit of feedback would be possibly making it available on Apple silicon macs? I’d love this on the desktop!!!.Version: 1.2

My Favorite Way to FediverseIvory is my favorite Mastodon client on iOS and iPadOS..Version: 1.6.5

Awesome Mastodon appAs a long-term-but-no-longer Twitter user thanks to Space Karen, I was beyond pleased to hear that Tapbots were bringing the Tweetbot UX to Mastodon. Having stayed up to 2am to get a Testflight slot I was not disappointed. It's made the move to Mastodon delightful and I can't recommend it enough..Version: 1.0

Provides a very polished Mastodon experienceThey say it’s “Early Access”, but I’ve been enjoying the app so far and don’t notice much missing. Back in the Twitter days, I just used the official Twitter app, but for Mastodon this is just so much more polished than the official app. The subscription is very cheap for something you use multiple times a day. Great work by the developers, and I look forward to seeing what they do with this over the coming years..Version: 1.0

Misskey?Misskey support would be really cool!.Version: 1.6.5

Great app, looking forward to more featuresIt's a great app, feels very solidly engineered, like their former twitter app...the only thing it lacks is it's not quite as feature rich. Once it gets there, it's a 5 star app..Version: 1.5

The Best Mastodon App Out ThereIvory brings all the polish of Tweetbot (and more) to Mastodon. The subscription isn’t as cheap as Tweetbot’s was, but I suppose that makes sense given that there are fewer Mastodon users than Twitter users, so the cost of maintaining the app is a bit higher per-customer. Either way, $20 a year is very affordable and I’m happy to support an excellent developer like Tapbots. Highly recommended!.Version: 1.2

The BEST Mastodon clientIf you’ve used Tweetbot you’ll feel right at home. Mastodon can be clunky to use but Ivory makes the whole experience a joy. Easily follow users across instances. Smooth scrolling. Fast loading. Beautiful interactions. Fantastic work, Tapbots! 😁.Version: 1.0

Amazing AppAnother amazing App from a fantastic developer who really understands iOS aesthetics and UI design. The best Mastodon mobile App (i’ve tried them all). Please support this developer and their great work! Really looking forward to the coming MacOS version!.Version: 1.0

Makes Mastodon feel polished and enjoyableI love the way that new posts are loaded — you never loose your place when scrolling through messages like you do with the official Mastodon app. This app makes Mastodon feel just as polished as Twitter!.Version: 1.0

PerfectSimply such an improvement for using Mastodon. Simplicity of use and effectiven operation is so much better than the Mastodon app itself. Like Tweetbot, I wonder why developers of the original apps (Twitter, Mastodon, Instagram, etc) never manage to create such an ergonomic, effective and efficient app interface in the first place. Thank you Tapbots for creating this app and very much looking forward to the Mac version (and an Instagram app in the future, hopefully !).Version: 1.0

Looks amazing, but missing one key feature I need…There’s no :emojisupport: for keyboard warriors! Perhaps I just missed an option in the config, but I use this app on an iPad with a keyboard it takes me about 0.5 seconds to throw in an emoji by typing a colon + a few letters  versus having to take my hands off the keyboard, tap the screen a few times, put them back on the keyboard to search for an emoji, take hand off the keyboard again to tap the one I want… it’s 5 seconds minimum That’s a LOT of friction when I’m just trying to send a few quick replies and I’d love if you could add this feature. The web app has it, Tusky has it, and I even think the 1st party Mastodon app has it..Version: 1.0.2

Ivory the app that makes you say bye Twitter!I was a long time user of Tweetbot. I never liked the native client and it was only when I switched to Tweetbot that I started using Twitter. Ivory has done the same for Mastodon! Great first release looking forward to the future!.Version: 1.0

Simply the bestIt’s the only way to Mastodon! There’s a lot of new clients out there but the quality of Ivory leaves them all in the dust. Looking forward to continuing work from TapBots. Thank you so much!.Version: 1.0

Pick your social media site by tapbots' clientsTweetbot was long the only thing that made twitter really usable (especially after twitter started messing with recommender systems and ads on its main feed). Now all that experience makes mastodon almost useable. I hope tapbots figure out how to create fake quote toots like they made fake edits on twitter. It would be awesome if they could also figure out how to help you edit the links on a thread. But their analysis and editing tools are just great. Ivory actively helps you keep up with the changes as mastodon starts becoming a more real platform. Is Ivory worth what it costs? No, it's worth a lot more than that..Version: 1.8.4

Expensive app with little pricing transparencyQuality of the app is great. You can’t save gifs or videos in this app. Also they aren’t transparent on what features you’re paying for. You just have to guess around until you run into paywalls. Knowing the features let’s me assess the value. Existing functions are great but the lack of download options for media and pricing transparency has me doubting whether I’m going to continue to use this beyond free trial vs metatext..Version: 1.0.2

Ivory is Mastodon for meAnd it’s fantastic..Version: 1.1

Amazing, but a Lifetime Option is NeededThe speed at which Tapbots was able to get this app to an amazing level of polish, being as frictionless as it is and the unceremonious shutdown of Tweetbot against their will, I understand the price increase for Ivory, and am personally fine with paying. However, I really think Ivory should provide a lifetime payment alongside the subscription. With how many services are subscription based nowadays it’d be nice to not have to pay yet another monthly fee, even if it is low..Version: 1.0

The best Mastodon experienceTogether with Ivory for iOS and iPadOS this is the nicest way to interact with Mastodon.Version: 1.0

Free is an option. It drives me mad that people review a paid for app as ⭐️. They are right in that this is a lot of money compared to other apps (like free ones). Apps are built by people. They have to earn a living. Free apps might be built by people in their ‘free’ time, or donate their time to an FOSS project. Other companies charge for their software, some may charge very little or nothing. They will make money from ads or selling your personal data. I choose to pay companies who are building quality apps. This is a quality app and Mastodon is where I want to invest my social media time. Oh and #SpaceKaren can do one..Version: 1.0

Outstanding as alwaysThe best way to use Mastodon.Version: 1.1

Best mobile app for Mastodon!I know this is still the early release but it is designed beautifullyand flows so well i’m enthusiastically supporting it and loving it. Great support for timelines, local and federated. Statistics for seeing social vanity metrics. Fast performance and smooth scrolling through all timelines and sync between devices. Much love from Universeodon Instance. oh.. a gift keyboard. Cant wait to see what the future holds on the fediverse with apps like Ivory.Version: 1.0

ExpensiveAll the save expensive for a born social network… Especially since I still have a subscription to Tweetbot wich ends in april and is no longer of any use to me!.Version: 1.0

Best Mastodon ClientSuper happy with this purchase! Go TAPBOTS! Also bring back ConvertBot!.Version: 1.4.1

ImpressiveI know this is version 1.0. Long time in the making. So far so good. Lots of great features Would like to see images, Videos and Gifs. More than Large thumbnails as I have set. But a setting for full size inline Images etc. Not just thumbnails. First impressions only been using 30 minutes. Please consider my request. Not cropped but full size base on screen size. Well done..Version: 1.0

No Place Like HomeAs a dedicated and unwavering Tweetbot user, one of the most jarring parts of picking up Mastodon was finding an app that suited me. There are a number of clients and they all have ideas, some of them are even good, but for my timeline the Tapbots feel is what my eyes and hands need and now here they are. I used Ivory in beta, it felt great on day one, every update feels even better. Could not smash the subscription button fast enough, very excited for what’s to come!.Version: 1.0

Clean. Concise. Multi-columnsThe Tapbots developers have hit a homerun again with this app. You can tell they have spent tons of time and put a lot of care into this app. It has been rock-solid since day 1. The interface is clean and intuitive and they have ironed out some of mastadon's own rough edges, providing easy onboarding even if you don't have a mastadon account yet. The multi-columns from Tweetbot are here. Love it!.Version: 1.0.1

Great, but only for MastodonHands down the best Mastodon client I’ve used but worth noting that it does not support ActivityPub servers like GoToSocial and won’t even allow you to try to use them..Version: 1.4.1

Feel at home in MastodonI was sad/angry that Twitter shut out Tweetbot. Regrettably, I still access Twitter but have also started using Mastodon. Hopefully someday I will be able to leave Twitter. I tried the native Mastodon app but it just felt odd to me. I heard about Ivory and decided to give it a try and happy that I did. I feel at home even though it’s a different environment. My Tweetbot subscription is worthless now, but I am ok with subscribing to Ivory because it is a quality product that should be supported; otherwise it will go away..Version: 1.0.1

Best. Mastodon. Client. If you enjoyed using Tweetbot, then you’ll enjoy using Ivory even more. I’ve tried many Mastodon clients since joining in November 2022, and this is by far my favorite. Yes, I’m biased because I was a longtime Tweebot user and Ivory feels like home. The app is good in its own right. The interface is nice looking and easy to use. There aren’t an over abundance of options to overwhelm you. It’s well worth the money if you frequently use Mastodon..Version: 1.1

So niceHands down the best Mastodon client for iOS.Version: 1.0

Best Mastodon ClientI was a huge fan of Tweetbot and so I’m happy to see the developers have come up with another great app! While I am not fully sold on Mastodon as a platform yet, I am a very curious person and am definitely keeping my eye on things. The performance of the user experience is a step up of competing apps and is the most compelling Mastodon experience yet..Version: 1.0

Great app, new custom emoji picker isn't goodIvory is spectacular. 7/5 stars. My only complaint is that in the most recent update, the standard emoji picker was removed in favor of a custom emoji picker. Now the only way to get standard macOS emoji is via keyboard shortcut. I don't use custom emoji so I find this cluttery and weirdly non-platform-compliant. Please go back to native controls with an additional option for those who do want custom emoji!.Version: 1.2

So polished.I’ve tried a big stack of Mastodon clients. This one inherits the slickness, polish, and beauty of Tweetbot. Happy to pay my subs for this excellent product..Version: 1.0

Tweetbot rebornI have used Tweetbot as my go to Twitter client for the better part of the last 10 years. Recent events have pushed me not only away from Tweetbot (involuntarily) but also voluntarily away from Twitter. I found a new home in Mastodon but the none of the available apps, while all good in their own ways, were able to make my experience of the service as smooth and frustration-free as Ivory has. Fantastic app that I’m proud to support..Version: 1.0

So carefully consideredEvery single aspect has been so carefully considered. An oasis of calm amid the nonsense of social media. I want a t shirt with the logo though!.Version: 1.4.1

A Great Twitter ReplacementWith the slow decline of Twitter it’s great to finally have a Mastodon client that distills Mastodon down from its technical roots to something that’s friendly and inviting to use..Version: 1.0

GoodI used tweetbot for years so wanted to support the developers but I feel ivory is expensive 🤷🏻‍♂️ It’s very good but to be honest Mammoth is just as good and it’s free.Version: 1.4

Another Phenomenal App by TapbotsTweetbot was my most used app by a mile, so I was heartbroken when it was abruptly killed by Twitter. Thankfully, Mastodon is far more welcoming to 3rd parties than Twitter ever was, and it shows with Ivory — Ivory is basically the Tweetbot we could’ve had if Twitter cared about 3rd party devs. Incredibly well polished like you’d expect, and with features Tweetbot could never support like in-app voting on polls and real time notifications. Thanks for everything Tapbots 🫡.Version: 1.0

Premium Quality SoftwareI missed Tapbot’s premium quality software so much, I downloaded this and paid for the subscription the minute it was out of beta. Superb software, and worth every penny. Has now completely replaced Twitter for me..Version: 1.0

It’s nicely made but missing some featuresThis app is clean and well done. But it’s missing some of the main features that the web version has. The main one that it’s missing is hashtags in the search function. On the site you can see the trending hashtags but in the app they are nowhere to be found. I’d say if they brought that to the client it would be the only client I used as it’s clean and fast..Version: 1.0.1

Better as an early access than many full release appsAs a long time Tweetbot user, I was delighted when I heard Tapbots were looking to create a Mastodon app. Their polish and attention to detail that made Tweetbot one of the best Twitter apps, has produced a similarly high quality Mastodon app, that even in this early access state is solid and stable enough that I’ve not had to go back to my old Mastodon app of choice. Roll on the Mac version!.Version: 1.0

Great Mastodon ClientAbsolutely beautifully designed client. Makes mastodon a join to use.Version: 1.0

The BestIvory is a beautiful, sensible, reliable app. When I first migrated to the fediverse, I was worried that the iOS & macOS tooling would be a barrier. I was wrong to worry! Having tried a *lot* of the available options, Ivory is the stand-out winner on every front..Version: 1.2

My Favorite ClientI’ve messed around with a handful of Mastodon clients (and the web version) and this is easily my favorite. Has all the features I need and I trust the development will continue to include even more nice things. I can’t really say anything bad about the experience, perhaps someone that has very specific needs could find an issue, but this app makes the Mastodon experience fluid, simple, and fun..Version: 1.6.2

Definitely worth itA high quality experience. Definitely the best of all the clients I’ve tried for, what I’ve found to be, the best of this new era’s social networks..Version: 1.7

An incredible startIvory has all of the deep skill of Tapbots behind it, and it shows. There are many apps out there that are functional, and many that are beautiful, but Ivory manages to be both that while having the perfect amount of extra care that also makes it *feel* great to use. It’s still missing some features, but it’s being updated constantly to fill in the gaps..Version: 1.2

Like finding an old friendTweetbot, the Twitter client from the same devs, made Twitter a joy to use. Like that app, Ivory has a smooth and responsive interface and a degree of finesse you can’t appreciate until you’ve tried. Ivory is still early release so it doesn’t have some of the niche features from older Mastodon clients. I haven’t missed any features from all the other Mastodon clients I’ve tried. However I expect they’ll get any worth having. Ivory features I did miss from other clients were: excellent filtering/muting support, and timeline search. The filtering is powerful and easy to use, far beyond simple word search, it can also filter based on content like links, images, or replies, or even patterns of text (regex). Local timeline filtering is amazing. It’s extremely useful when you want to find a post you’ve seen earlier, but you wouldn’t be able to find it in other clients’ limited search. Ivory lets you search within the posts you’ve scrolled past, using keywords, or useful filters to narrow it down. Without a subscription this app is read-only, that means you can’t post, you can’t follow. Worst case you can do that from the web interface. However I spend significantly more time reading Mastodon than I do drinking coffee each day, and full functionality costs less than a coffee a month. It is worth supporting the love and care they’ve put into making this app a joy to use. If you’re not sure then try it for their week long free trial. Free apps have been mentioned in other reviews. I’ve tried them all wishing I had Ivory. One or two are okay, but none are close. I think Metatext was the closest, but if you’re not sure try each for a week, with Ivory’s free trial, and see the difference. Ivory is already a lovingly made app, but in future I’m expecting the reliability, and attention to detail that I’ve come to expect having used their Twitter client for over a decade. They’ve earned my trust, and they’ve reinforced that here. However, they couldn’t have done it without the reliable income from being paid for their work, I’m happy to pay..Version: 1.0

Really fast and polishedAs a long time user of Tweetbot, I was so disappointed to see it unceremoniously killed by Twitter. But that disappointment turned to excitement when Tapbots announced they were developing a Mastodon client! Although Ivory is still a work-in-progress, the app is already really polished, fast, and beautiful. I’m happy to continue to support Tapbots on their new journey with Mastodon..Version: 1.0.1

Feels like homeThis has the great experience for mastodon I was missing when Twitter shutdown 3rd party apps and my beloved Tweetbot was no longer able to function. I really love how familiar this app feels after migrating from twitter to mastodon. Can’t wait to see how great Indy developers, like Tapbots and others, build this community with fantastic apps like Ivory..Version: 1.0

Great appI’ve tried multiple apps since switching from the bird to Mastodon but none quite met exactly what I was looking for until Ivory. This app is great to use and has all the functionality in after, plus more’s coming, win win! Even better on iPad I might add. Great work Tapbots!.Version: 1.0

A Fantastic Mastodon ExperienceIvory brings the design quality and blistering performance of Tweetbot to Mastodon. If you were a fan of Tweetbot you'll be a fan of Ivory..Version: 1.0

Delightful appMakes me feel right at home on Mastodon after using Tweetbot for years..Version: 1.3.1

No buy optionI love the app, but I’m not going to rent it forever, sorry. 😞.Version: 1.0

Finally !!The world of Mastodon clients is split in two: there is Ivory on one side and the rest on the other..Version: 1.0

Feels like homeTweetBot was my twitter client of choice for years. Since moving to Mastodon, I didn't feel quite at home until now. Ivory brings back the comforts of TweetBot with the freedom of Mastodon. Love it!.Version: 1.0

Essential. Don’t hesitate.I haven’t much to say other than to point out that this app is not just great but Mastodon is useless to me without it. Enjoy..Version: 1.8

Ivory is simply the best !I'm using Ivory for Mastodon (MacOS/iOS/iPadOS) because, after testing all other clients, Ivory is simply the best ! Tapbots thought about every detail of the application. Icons, filters and all other great functionnalities. I will always recommend Ivory when I'm asked "which client should I use for Mastodon ?" Ok it's not free like others but, believe me, you will get the best of all ! Benoît.Version: 1.1

Amazing stillThis has been such an amazing app. Not just in what it does, which is bringing community together in a new (to so many of us) platform, Mastodon, but in such a timely way - when we need it most, there it is, working so well, a familiar experience. We're so grateful for what you've given us. And still, after I don't even remember how long, this app is probably the one I use more than any other, besides the browser itself..Version: 1.8.4

Makes Mastodon a great place to beIvory even in its birth incarnation, Ivory makes Mastodon a beautifully approachable place to hang out and build a friendly and engaging community. Love it..Version: 1.0

Best Mastodon clientEven better than tweet bot ever was.Version: 1.3.1

If you know, you know…Makers of fine apps since 2008, these guys once made an app for weight-tracking and it was dope beyond description. Now they’ve made a Mastodon client. C’mon?!.Version: 1.0

Perfect 1.0 releaseMade the switch away from Twitter a breeze. RIP Tweetbot.Version: 1.0

Best Mastodon ClientBefore Elon Musk ruined Twitter, in part by eliminating third-party apps, I was a big fan of Tweetbot. After the Twitter-pocalypse, I stayed away from social media for awhile (except for Reddit), until I found out that most of the tech folks I enjoyed following had moved over to Mastodon. There are a variety of apps for accessing the network including a native app, Mona, Ice Cubes, Mammoth and Radiant but the one I chose was Ivory for Mastodon by Tapbots, the same developers behind Tweetbot..Version: 1.9.3

Elegant and cute!Beautiful UI design But it would be really nice if ivory can support animated emojis and displaying sensitive content w/o unrolling the whole thread.Version: 1.8.3

Now there’s no reason to stay on Twitter. After more than a decade using Tweetbot I expected the Ivory experience to be similarly slick, and it is. I immediately felt right at home and you will, too. You can dump Twitter for good..Version: 1.0.2

Home button functionThis app is great but I would love to have an option to jump to the top of my feed by tapping the home button..Version: 1.3.1

Fedi-ready! Way to go, Tapbots!I've sought refuage from the big datafarms of social media in the Fediverse, and wound up finding communities I want to participate in where the people are polite and kind. I run my own instance (soc-kvet-ch) and have used a dozen different clients and apps and Ivory is hands-down the best-in-slot choice for me. If you are interested in privacy, security, knowledge work, productivity, gaming and open source projects Mastodon is amazing and more accessible than any other platform of it's kind. So glad Tapbots are here, I feel like this is a hail mary but it's a beautiful throw, love and respect to all of you and yours..Version: 1.6.5

Tapbots does it againBeen a longtime Tweetbot user, and this makes the switch to Mastodon that much easier. Super polished at such an early stage..Version: 1.0

It’s simply the best(DUN DUN DUN DUUUN) Better than all the rest (DUN DUN DUUUN) Better than any app (DUN DUN DUUUN) Any app I’ve ever used to access Mastodon.Version: 1.4.1

SlickHas everything I want..Version: 1.9.3

Absolutely the best client for MastodonLooking for a Mastodon client for iOS… look no further , Ivory is it. It’s a masterpiece made by the developers behind Tweetbot, which itself was the choice client to use on Twitter.Version: 1.0

Really pretty but…Missing a few important functions, namely: a mute button, the ability to search and follow hashtags, and the ability to search for specific accounts. I’m going to keep my subscription for another few months in the hope that updates are coming because Ivory looks great and is super-customizable. But for now, I’m sticking with Metatext..Version: 1.0

If you liked Tweetbot, you'll like IvoryAs a longtime Tweetbot user, I was not happy to see it cease to function after the bird site shutdown API access. I started uising Mastodon and found the existing clients lacking. While there are now several good clients available, I have stuck with Ivory. The Tapbots developers listen to their users, and are quick to fix bugs and enhance features. The only thing I find lacking is search functionality - I often come up with empty results, when the same search in a diferent client results in several items..Version: 1.0

The best UX of any Mastodon clientSomething I keep saying to people, you can have a pretty UI or fancy features, but User Experience tops any of those any day. The years of experience running other social media apps and good UX background makes Ivory such a good way to experience Mastodon. From folding out action buttons to swiping to see detail, it’s turned Mastodon from something I’ll look at when bored (because the other apps were so clunky to use for any period of time) to a daily driver to interact with interesting people. The subscription price is reasonable for an app I am actively seeing development and investment in. Just pay the elephant, it’s well worth it..Version: 1.0

Great start, carrying the legacy of TweetbotIt's great to see the legacy of Tweetbot live on - this is a great start to a Mastodon client. The (necessary) rush to market has left a few features behind, but the Tapbots team have communicated clearly about the roadmap and the velocity is there. Solid start, and supreme levels of polish and quality, as you'd expect..Version: 1.0

Makes Mastodon work for meAfter many years of using Tweetbot as my Twitter client I tried to use the Twitter app. It didn’t work for me. I don’t mind ads and if Twitter had offered 3rd party access with ads even with a fee, I might have stayed there. That decided me to move to Mastodon. Ivory will keep me there because the experience is so much better than other Mastodon apps I explored. Thanks to Tapbots for bringing a first class experience to Mastodon. I’m glad you’ve set up a subscription model so you can pay your people and continue to innovate..Version: 1.0

The best Mastodon appReverse chronological timeline! Unread posts count! Preserved (and synchronized) timeline! Great interface, easy to use, & so much more. I finally feel whole again..Version: 1.0

Welcome to the futureMastodon, etc., is the future of social media. At least for me. I won’t give any more free content to mega-corporations that monetize my attention in creepy and often downright evil ways. And I’m so glad that I have a first-class app like Ivory to access the greater Mastodon community. Ivory is good and keeps getting better. Bless their sweet little tusks..Version: 1.8

All round great app!Customisable, clear, fast and does everything you could want! Tapbots have smashed it with this one. Great mastodon client and great to see consistancy between this and their iOS client which makes them super easy to use and intuitive.Version: 1.0

Essential app for transitioning from Twitter to MastadonMakes Mastadon feel far more familiar than the official app, and for that reason is absolutely essential when leaving the hell site for greener pastures. Also wanted to support the devs by subbing after they got screwed by Twitter. Loved tweetbot, love Ivory..Version: 1.3.1

It was the bot I loved all alongSince tweetbot 1, I had a window to the world that I controlled and curated. all these years later, I realize what I really loved this whole time was the work of Tapbots. Thank you for making an amazing Mastodon app!.Version: 1.3.1

It’s Tweetbot for Mastodon!Easy to switch over from Tweetbot, a pleasure to use..Version: 1.0

Better design than most clientsEverything feels intuitive and familiar and looks great. Great to see Tapbots found a way to pivot from the old bird site as we all look for a new home..Version: 1.8

Fantastic. This app makes Mastodon incredible. Worth every penny, the guys at Tapbots have done it again. I loved Tweetbot. It WAS Twitter for me. When that experience was taken away due to Twitter shutting down the third party API with no warning, it changed how I felt about using Twitter. With Ivory, Mastodon now has the same feel I used to love, and in a much more sustainable, and better, social media platform. Definitely give Mastodon a try if you haven’t yet… and if you do, get this app… it’s fantastic!.Version: 1.0

Slick interfaceIvory has a slick interface that clearly makes good use of caching. It’s sleek as well: it puts all the stuff the web site has in a more useable layout but with short animations that make it fun to use. So far, all the features of the web site appear to be present including Explore, which I’ve seen some other clients exclude..Version: 1.9.3

Really nice to useI prefer Ice Cubes simply because it places user icons above the post making better use of the screen space. I don’t like the gap down the left beneath the icons..Version: 1.0

The perfect Mastodon client, and still getting betterI've used Ivory since its early testing period on an iPhone and then on Mac, and watching Tapbots constantly improve it has been inspirational. They took feedback well, particularly in helping add descriptive text to images, something many people want and need. The experience takes Mastodon, already a great federated service that continues to evolve, and makes into something vibrant. It's easy for me to say that without Ivory, I'd be enjoying Mastodon much less, as Ivory fits my brain perfectly. It's great having the same client and same approach now on my iPhone and on my Mac..Version: 1.0

Already the best way to access MastodonThe guys at Tapbots did an amazing job of taking their years of experience with Tweetbot and applying it to Mastodon. Even though they’re not finished with all of the items on their roadmap, this is already my favorite way to access Mastodon. I can’t wait to see it evolve and grow even better from here..Version: 1.0

Greatly improves my experience of MastodonAs a Tweetbot fan who is slowly saying goodbye to Twitter, Ivory has massively improved my enjoyment of Mastodon. Already a solid app, will no doubt only get better.Version: 1.0

Unable to install on iPadOS 15.1The app is absolutely wonderful but unfortunately it’s not officially supported on iPadOS 15.1 which is a shame. It works perfectly on iOS 16.1.2 and I actually subscribed but since it requires 15.6 I’ll be forced to cancel it because I use my iPad way more than my iPhone.Version: 1.0

Great on iOS, great on the MacI've loved using Ivory on iOS for the last several months - it has become my primary Mastodon client and it's the main way I interact with social media. But typing a long thread is easier on the Mac, so I'm glad to see Ivory come to the Mac! It's got the same great UI polish and touches I've come to expect from Tapbots. I love being able to keep my place in the timeline across devices, or easily just pop open my laptop to reply to something that requires more typing. The Ivory UI also does a good job of surfacing Mastodon features that I forget even exist. Great stuff - so happy it's here!.Version: 1.0

This is a quality piece of softwareUI is perfect; feels nice to use, haptics are well integrated. It’s snappy and loads your timeline quickly. Switching between accounts is easy..Version: 1.3.1

SuperbTweetbot was so good to use as a front-end to Twitter that I had no hesitation in subscribing to their Mastodon app, now that you know who has made Tweetbot unviable. If you already have a Mastodon account, switching to Ivory as a vehicle to manage your tooting is simplicity itself..Version: 1.2

Just as you'd expect from Tapbots, a quality Mastodon clientIvory on Mac (and iOS/iPadOS) make my Mastodon experience feel more like 'home'. Love that my Mastodon timeline is in sync no matter what device I'm using! As expected, the app is solid with a great UI, and is clearly built for macOS. Subscribing on both platforms is a bargain!.Version: 1.0.1

Tweetbot for Mastodon equals instant in app subscriptionIf you used Tweetbot before Muskagedon and then had to use the official Twitter app, you suddenly realised what a loss it is and what a cess pit of dross Twitter really is. Ivory is Tweetbot for Mastodon. Other folks have done good work with clients but for me as soon as I heard Ivory was coming from Tapbots, even in an early access release, it was an instant download and subscribe. Thanks Tapbots for not just deciding enough is enough and giving us the same great solution we once had to make Twitter “doable”. Looking forward to the further polishing to come..Version: 1.0

The Real TwitterThe gold standard of Mastodon clients. Even in its early release stage, it is far better than any app on the market. And Tweetbots is a company you can trust to keep improving the app. For years, Tweetbot by Tapbots was the real Twitter for me, no ads, no algorithmic timelines, pure greatness. Now that Space Karen has ruined Twitter as a service, Mastodon has replaced Twitter as the backend. This had some serious rough edges. With the release of Ivory by Tapbots, it just feels like home..Version: 1.0

FantasticSlick and beautiful. Makes using Mastodon a joy. Everything you would expect from the makers of Tweetbot..Version: 1.0

This app is a delightVery satisfied with my subscription..Version: 1.6.5

Best app. Best platform.I never, ever, ever write reviews, so I can promise you I mean this: TapBots has a reputation for building intuitive, aesthetically lovely apps, and this is definitely another win. Getting into Mastodon can be intimidating, but the fact that Ivory’s UI mimics TweetBot’s (RIP) makes it a heck of a lot easier to make the jump. I’ve tried a lot of Masto clients over the last couple years, and there’s no question that this is by far the best. I was ticked at EM for hobbling all 3p apps, but the one and only good thing was that it let the TB crew push this fantastic client out a little faster. Well done, folks!.Version: 1.3.1

AwesomeI was an avid Tweetbot user but had to give it up when I left Twitter last year. When I saw Tapbots was making a Mastodon app, I knew it would be the app for me and boy was I right. I’ve been using it for a bit now since I was lucky enough to get into the beta and have had no problems. It’s intuitive, which is saying a lot since Mastodon can be quite confusing. It reminds me so much of Tweetbot it’s like seeing an old friend again. What else can I say but the app just works and looks amazing. Well worth the subscription..Version: 1.0

So long Twitter, hello Ivory! If you loved Tweetbot, you'll feel right at home with Ivory. Great, great app!.Version: 1.0

The real Mastodon experienceIt’s not real Mastodon if it’s not from the Ivory app. It’s just sparkling Twitter..Version: 1.6.5

A great app from a reliably fantastic dev teamAlready a great app hustled out in record time, and only going to get better as the Mastodon/ActivityPub ecosystem grows and Tapbots have more time to put into improving and expanding the capabilities of Ivory. One of the rare apps where I couldn't wait to give the devs my money—and the same goes for the Mac app when it's ready..Version: 1.0

So happy it's developing. It's mostly a very smooth experience. Notifications and Mentions have a weird interrelation, where you continue to have notifications when you've already read them in Mentions, but they say they're reworking how Notifications work anyway. I would LOVE for there to be administration and moderation tools built in. I'm the admin on one of the servers I use, and it's a big feature of Mastodon that you can be. But since I usually use Ivory, I miss important moderation notifications all the time, and I'd love to, you know, not..Version: 1.9.3

Best mastodon clientIf you liked tweetbot or you like well designed IOS apps by people who care then this is the client for you. Sleek and satisfying design as well as fully featured..Version: 1.8.1

Wow love itEasy to set up and use and also scrolling is buttery smooth everywhere which is a refreshing change as the official app like the reddit app is a jitter fest. Well done Guys 👍😉😃.Version: 1.9.2

It’s just like coming home.Thank you so much for working so hard at a difficult time to make this. I have a feature request: pinned local timelines from other instances..Version: 1.0

DelightfulThis app has dramatically improved my mastodon experience - great as it was before! They’ve acknowledged their roadmap and seem to be making excellent progress. The team is communicative, helpful, and downright FUN! A lot of apps are functional, but I’m pleased to have discovered this one is functional and delightful! Keep up the excellent work..Version: 1.0

Wish Free Version had more functionalityFree version only allows viewing — you can’t post, comment, like, retweet, etc. I understand the financial needs of development, but wish I could at least like and retweet posts. For such a small social media network, it definitely needs more interaction to survive + knowing most users are going to use this client for free, I don’t want to see larger creators leave the Mastodon platform because of little interaction. I usually don’t feel the need to use 3rd party clients for software, but the official Mastodon app is really confusing. This guys really clean and makes me want to use the service much more. Great app. Sad to see what happened with Twitter..Version: 1.0

Knocked it out if the parkGreat app for Mastodon, tons of great features, works flawlessly. Very polished both the iPhone and iPad app..Version: 1.0

Twitter FollowersI have used Tweetbot for years and gained over 800 followers, how do I ever get these followers back?.Version: 1.0

Such a reliefAfter coming from Tweetbot and Twitteriffic on iPadOS and hitting the cutting edge of 2008’s UX on other apps, I was desperate to see how Ivory would stack up. 5 minutes in to using Ivory’s Read-only free mode I was paying for it. It’s like having walked for a week in too tight shoes, and then you get to sit down and put slippers on: comfy, warm, familiar. “Load more content” that immediately loses your place? Nope! A dogmatic belief that syncing between devices is a moral failing? Not here! A way to make text bigger? Oh sure! Not cropping across the middle of an image? Why would you? Full width Toots, instead of a weird permanently crushed layout? Ha ha, of course! A selection of UI colours for easy reading: Take your pick! And just like that, Mastodon became pleasant, enjoyable, something to look forward to dipping into..Version: 1.0

A familiar friendI used tweetbot for a decade and now realise how it protected me from the algorithmic horrorshow of the official Twitter app. What a disaster that is - no idea how people stand it? Anyway, this pretty much gets me back to the tweetbot/twitter experience and hopefully it’ll persuade a few more to come over..Version: 1.0

Excellent!A well-polished Mastodon client that’s smooth and fast, and improving all the time. Great to see the core of Tweetbot enhanced and even better!.Version: 1.3.1

Best Mastondon App, period.Sure, it costs money. It's an amazing app, and I want to support it. This app is a delight to use and makes using Mastodon a dream. Thank you for the most excellent app..Version: 1.7

Like Tweetbot, but better.Tweetbot was the only reason why I liked Twitter. The experience delivered by it was unrivalled. Ivory feels even better. A lot of the shortcomings of Tweetbot were due to artificial constraints set by Twitter that are not relevant in Mastodon. Ivory will undoubtedly become what the vision of the folks at Tapbots has always been. This is the social media experience we all deserve!.Version: 1.0

Similar great app to TweetbotBut, like Tweetbot, it doesn’t seem to be able to show alt-text for images. Any chance we’ll get that in the near future?.Version: 1.2

Easy to use and well designedIvory is easy to use, performs well, and is a very pleasing way to interact with Mastodon and the Fediverse. I like that it is under active development with regular updates. It has kept me connected to Mastodon on both my mac and my iPhone. I particularly like the 'Tweetdeck' layout for the mac and hope that further development is done to make it more Tweetdeck like in the future (horizontal scrolling when displaying lots of columns perhaps?).Version: 1.8

RefreshingHonestly the app is still beta but I can see it getting better as they implement more of mastodon’s api since I’ve also used the tweetbot client before (rest in paradise). The integration with SwiftUI is awesome and smooth with some good customization options for the end user. So far I’m happy enough to subscribe since it’s not to costly, I do hope that out of the subscriptions revenue they generate that they may potentially create a free version of this in the spirit of mastodon being open source and what not. That would be amazing I’d still be happily subscribe even if that’s the case to support the dev team..Version: 1.0

The best!!100% the best social media app for Mastodon. It’s slick and feature packed. Highly recommended. Worth the subscription!!.Version: 1.9.3

Fantastic appFirst, important to remember this is still an early access version so not every feature is available yet. The developers have listed their road map on their website so you can see everything coming and it is looking great. The level of polish that has been applied so far is fantastic and I can’t wait to see where they go..Version: 1.0

A Better ExperienceI created a Mastodon account last year just in case. I only used Safari to access it. Had used Tweetbot for years as my primary Twitter access but Twitter kept throwing monkey wrenches into its functions. Then killed it. Ivory makes Mastodon a true pleasure. When, or if, more of the posters/accounts I hope to follow appear here this will be the best way to do it..Version: 1.0

Amazing performance and design for a v1.0Ivory is responsive, smooth-scrolling, intuitive, and so very beautiful in its style. It quickly became my primary Mastodon app. Also I subscribed right away based on the great previous apps from this team and the transparency about the roadmap too. Can’t wait for every update!.Version: 1.0

Tweetbot reboot for MastodonFantastic Mastodon! If you used Tweetbot, you will feel at home. High recommend..Version: 1.0

Well Worth It - Like Coming HomeThis app is one of the smoothest, well functioning Mastodon apps on the market today. Tapbots do incredible work as a small team to turn out this level of craftsmanship and quality. For apps like this to exist, they need to make money and I am more than happy to pay them to continue their incredible work. It’s odd to me how many people can buy a $600-$1500 device and not be ok paying a few dollars a month for quality apps to run on that device. Seems like an odd choice to me but what do I know?.Version: 1.0

Almost perfect, and I hope it reaches perfection soonThis app took the Masto world by storm due to the developers already being established awesome app devs for another service. Ivory is smooth, beautiful, and overall outstanding in every way. It is missing one function common in other apps… The ability to pin or save local timelines of instances without having to create separate accounts! The absence of this when so many other apps have it is why I hardly ever use Ivory now..Version: 1.2

Another Excellent App from Tapbots! The tapbot boys have done it again. Under some circumstances that weren’t fair to them at all from a service that we all know, they beat the odds and got this wonderful app pushed out to the world. They may be missing some features here and there but they have a strong community supporting them (including myself) and I have no doubt they will implement the missing features very soon..Version: 1.0

Ivory has surprising polish at launchIvory is both easy on the eye and easy to use, even on iPad Mini-5 which gives other Mastodon apps layout fits. The photo chooser is quite nice giving access to all Photos albums and proper layout and sizing. Image description editor works correctly. Ivory controls layout makes access to most Mastodon capabilities easy and intuitive. Features missing at launch include followed hashtag access and posted post editing..Version: 1.0

These Are The Droids You’re Looking ForIf you used Tweetbot on Twitter Ivory is Tweetbot for Mastodon. If you didn’t use Tweetbot then Ivory is simply one of the most polished Mastodon clients available. Keep in mind that Ivory is in early release stage so all the features that the developers want Ivory to do are not complete. But even in this early release form Ivory is a better experience than the many other Mastodon clients I have tried. I trust the guys at Tapbots to keep adding features and innovating on what a premium Mastodon client can do and that’s why I didn’t hesitate to hit the premium subscription button..Version: 1.0

Am amazing mastodon clientDespite being at 1.0 and in early access, Ivory is a piece of software that’s built on Tweetbot. As such, it’s a great app that’s a pleasure to use. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for Ivory..Version: 1.0

Farewell Tweetbot, goodbye Twitter, hello IvoryUsing the native Twitter app, after Space Karen killed Tweetbot and other third-party bird site apps, was miserable. Using Ivory for Mastodon feels familiar but is also better in many different ways. It’s beautiful and will only get better. And the pricing is very, very reasonable. Instant buy and no regrets..Version: 1.0

Already the best app for MastodonAlthough only a 1.0 releases, Ivory has taken Tapbots decade plus experience making Tweetbot and created an extremely polished experience. While perhaps not yet as feature complete as some other apps, it is still by far the nicest way to use Mastodon, and their public roadmap clearly demonstrates that building out an excellent feature list is a high priority..Version: 1.0
