Needs more updateOn the plus side, the app is definitely more responsive compared with the previous Medallion app. No issue with the new layout. Unfortunately there are key functions not working on this latest version. After logging in, we can only see one booking and not able to view all future bookings. To view other bookings we have to log out and login with each booking reference. Our captain circle status is still showing the incorrect status. I also can’t see the departure time for each ports of call under the Journey tab. I would like to see some key info for the cruise booking on the home page and not having to go to profile tab. I look forward to the next few updates, hopefully they will address the issues listed above. Thank you Princess App team..Version: 1.0.1

Couldn’t see excursions or spaLike the layout. Easily booked dinners. While the app worked perfect on my husbands phone, the excursions and spa would not load on mine. At all. We have the same phone. App states it works in iOS 13 and higher. I had iOS 16. Hubby has iOS 17. App worked perfectly once I updated to iOS 17. Interesting…..Version: 1.0.1

Can’t add Credit CardHave tried countless times to complete check-in but will not accept my credit card for my onboard account. Simply hangs and eventually crashes with an error. Phoned Princess technical help? and it did the same when they tried it. They said they would report the problem and to try again in a couple of days, that was a week ago, guess what? Yep still the same. They gave me a link to try entering the credit card details online but still not working so obviously a major glitch. My wife tried entering the details on her app on her Samsung phone but exactly the same issue. Come on Princess get your act together and sort these and other issues out. What’s the point on moving everything on to this app when it don’t work??.Version: 1.0.1

Good but needs a lot of workThe app itself I think is designed well, but there are issues. The ordering can be hit or miss, sometimes it doesn’t go through to the servers or your location is not available. Service should be available pretty much anywhere on the ship. The extremely long waiting times are also awful but not sure who that falls on. There needs to be a breakdown for packages too. For example we had a drink package yet can’t see what was ordered or where. Several times there were a lot extra charges and we had to go to guest services because the app shows nothing. Its also just slow and glitchy..Version: 1.0.1

Not as good as other appWhy did they change it? It’s slow. I’m leaving on my cruise today and it’s been one day ahead, which is frustrating. Scheduling things has been a pain - ie, spa services. Terrible AppCome on Princess, you need to sort out this app. Constantly denied access with pop up stating invalid details or data does not match our records despite having successfully changed password. I shouldn’t have to change my password everytime I want to log in!! App needs a lot of workThis app needs a lot of work. I am on a cruise and every day all my bookmarks disappear. I have to delete the app and download again. Good thing my package includes wifi but boy is it slow! Plus when I try to sign in with login and password, I get this ridiculous thing saying I need parental consent. I could ask my 85 year old mother for permission but that seems a little unnecessary lol. I worked around this by logging in with my booking number which is a hassle. I like locating shipmates but they need to add the ability to chat with them too. Hopefully this feature will come with the next version...unfortunately too late for us..Version: 1.0.1

Session timeout insanityDon’t rush to download this new app. If you attempt to do anything on it you receive a Session Timeout message asking you to log in again. I have done it 5 times now. Nothing works in relation to your actual booking. Wait for them to fix all the bugs in this one. No clue how this passed beta tests!!!.Version: 1.0.0

This App Is Nothing But a BrochureThe old app showcased what you’ve purchased, what you’ve accomplished, what you have to look forward to. This new joke of an app doesn’t even show you the itinerary. It tells you the name of the ship and how many days to embarkation. The rest of the space is just filled with what you still haven’t bought from them yet. And if you want to see your itinerary all you have is a chronological day-by-day list that you have to scroll through like I’m some kind of lab mo key. This app is not about me, or my excitement, or the journey. It’s a brochure about how I could be making Princess Cruises more profitable..Version: 1.0.1

Not scaled for iPad, not ready for Prime TimeI only downloaded the new version on my iPad as I’m embarking within a week and don’t want issues when I know how to maneuver in the old app on my iPhone. The app doesn’t fill the screen on the iPad making it look amateurish. The app is okay- like the journey view improvements and ability to book specialty dining. However, very frustrating to have no ability to see all my booked cruises as I can in the old app. Perhaps a “where is” tab with details of where to find things would be helpful to those of us who are very well versed in finding our way around the old app. It also incorrectly identifies me as “new to princess” when I’ve been on 40 cruises with Princess..Version: 1.0.1

Only one voyageNo matter which booking number I log in with, it only shows the first voyage. Very frustrating..Version: 1.0.1

Fewer Features and FrustratingHonestly, I can’t believe this app has been released and that the old app will no longer be available in 20 days. I am unable to add travel companions in the new app though they did show up after I added them in the old app. Luggage tags cannot be printed in the new app because the print button does nothing. I finally had to go to the old app to print our tags. I have to give my cookie preferences every time the app sends me to a web page. I only selected my cookie preferences once in the old app. The “Packages” option sends me to my documents. Luckily I will have completed my cruise before the old app no longer works. I do hope Princess fixes these problems ASAP..Version: 1.0.1

No more chatGiven that with Sun Princess, Princess is aiming itself more towards families, it’s very odd that shipmate chat isn’t in this app anymore. We can locate our kids and travelling companions but we can’t communicate with them unless we walk to them. The rest of the app is good, but this is a big step back for families. It would also be good to get prompts from the app (dining reminders or things you’ve said you’re attending) and it would be good to more easily filter by venue. We eventually found how to do it, but on the journey view you should be able to filter by the venue you’re in to see what’s about to happen there. It would also be good to have the opening times of all the venues published in the app like it is on the daily paper..Version: 1.1.1

Loyalty Status update needed.I am currently running both apps and have to say I still prefer the old version, but also accept that the new one is very much evolving. Please, though, would you look very seriously at bringing people’s loyalty status across to the app. There are so many inconsistencies- some people’s status is correct, others, like myself, have no status recorded, so I can’t pre-purchase the medallionet Internet package and get my 50% discount deducted at point of payment. DisappointedThe boarding process was terrific. Alas, other aspects were troubling. Dining was a bit of a disaster. For instance, we had reservations for 6 PM at Concerto restaurant but waited 45 minutes in a long line to be seated ( and we were in the reservation line). Grew tired of waiting in lines. Specialty restaurants good. The worst, however, was our room steward… my wife’s jewelry disappeared and we reported it to security… the next day it reappeared in a place my wife insisted she never put it. Then, he failed two nights in a row to leave us breakfast room service cards. Then my wife’s watch disappeared… 😡the room make up was half assed… I had to complain and ask for a different steward. The first night when the jewelry disappeared, we weren’t able to open the safe to store valuables. Lastly, the staff in general seemed dour and not particularly interested or friendly as opposed to a recent 18 day cruise on the Norwegian Encore. Everyone there was smiling and super friendly. Not so the Princess Regal. The ship itself was nice and the fitness center was open 24 hours, which I liked. Just disappointed in Princess. I had taken five previous Princess cruises and always enjoyed the experience. Something obviously has changed and not for the better..Version: 1.1.1

Session expired messaged after using app for a few minutesI’m trying to use the new app to book dining and look at my travel docs but I keep getting the session expired message. I was hoping this new app would be better than the old one but so far it’s not promising..Version: 1.0.0

Horrible AppBoarded a cruise using the old app. Was very difficult to scroll. It’s like a delayed scroll so when you go to scroll again your thumb hits a selection and you have to start all over again. Shipmate tracking is okay but the shipmate chat is horrible. Don’t see notifications unless in app. No time stamp on texts. We updated to the new app in port. It was horrible. They put the crew chat on the front screen when it would be better to put the shipmate chat with your family on the opening screen. Family chat didn’t work and we had to redownload the old app to chat with family. It needs to get better. Takes forever to load while on the medallion network. There are no other options for apps so you get what you get..Version: 1.0.1

Country SpecificWhen using the app for cruises departing and returning to Australia, the benefits of the ‘Plus’ package purchased in relation to the maximum cost of drinks that are included states ‘15’. This does not correspond with the online conditions of the plus package which state ‘up to $22’ for Australian cruises. It would also be advantageous when viewing purchased packages in the app, that all the benefits of the particular packages that the customer has purchased are listed. Country specific information and conditions for cruises departing and returning to other countries rather than all information being based on USA travel conditions and prices would make the app more user friendly..Version: 1.0.1

Terrible appI would have booked with another cruise line if I realized the app was so difficult and time consuming I called and was told I would get a call back which never happened, after a second call I am still not confident that the problem is solved..Version: 1.1.1

Limited featuresThis app does not have the same functionality as the old, I have 4 cruises booked and in the old app I could navigate between each booking to make plans (excursions, bookings, dining)…. Lacking chat amongst travel groupWhen I saw a new app I thought yeah they have improved the chat part. As thought it would be improvement from the original princess medallion where we could actually have notifications of a message sent to each of us by our group of travellers on the phone locked screen. But no - no chat at all! One of the things I thought not good with the original princess medallion app. Where you had to actually go into the chat to see if a new message was there and therefore could just miss one if timed wrong. Which I did multiple times. So chat with notifications on phone locked screen would be a vast improvement. Also couldn’t test this app as not on a double cruise. But Nov 2023 went on a cruise stayed on land overnight and went on another princess ship. Found it very annoying having them merged as had complimentary dining and could not book them even though it showed i had dining credit. Also it showed second cruises cabin number which was annoying. But once cruising on the first cruise the correct cabin finally showed..Version: 1.0.1

Should be much betterApp seems very dated, not current. Improvement recommendations 1) initial login should be much simpler; however the ability to access with booking is nice 2) packages portion does not work correctly at all. a) not scaled properly for an app b) it does not show the images or provide details to the package, it only shows the cost. c) show package details button non functional d) show benefits link is non functional.Version: 1.1.1

Not a great app FIX the “Exit this booking” selection.Frustrating to use and definitely needs improvements. When you select excursions you then confirm your cookie preferences. You see the itinerary (well done) select the location that you want to choose an excursion for. Works well so far. You are told the times that you will be in port. Then scroll down the list of available excursions. They are preselected so that any of them can be completed during your shore time (reassuring). You then select one that interests you to get details, times, cost (well done). Then it falls apart. You want to check out a different excursion before deciding. The only way is to exit all the way back to the beginning, select cookies preference AGAIN, scroll down the list and select a different excursion. You might have 10-15 possible excursions that you are interested in. Frustrating to keep repeating all of the steps every time. There is a tab at the end of an excursion listing that says exit this booking, but it doesn’t seem to do anything. Maybe it does if you have actually booked the excursion, but not if you are just looking at info so you can decide..Version: 1.0.1

App is completely scrambled.At this time the app shows the wrong ship for my booking, Hawaii’s shows on an Alaska cruise and the wrong length/number of cruise days. It has the ship till sailing two days after it should have disembarked all guests..Version: 1.1.1

Why change something by making it worse?I/we used the “Old App” on our Cruise in Nov 23…it was great…had no problems with it at all…now they have decided to “Redesign” it…think they meant…”Downgrade “ . Tech is beyond awfulTo say Princess technology is terrible is being kind. It honestly terrifies me that if they can’t get an app to work right and consistently, what will the cruise be like. I constantly get kicked and have to relog in. I try to make a reservation and it just spins. Make a payment (you would think that’s the one thing they want to work well?) …. Nope, spins and I eventually have to call. Excursion reservations, get kicked out and have to sign back in. Then after all the battles, you get a message that they are having technical difficulties. Incredibly frustrating. If we hadn’t already booked around this particular cruise, I would seriously change..Version: 1.0.1

The opening screen is frustrating!I’m green on old app but not completed in new app - Why do I have to set onshore payments to get green lane on the new app? Also I have to select two or three options before I get to the place the old app takes me directly to (opening screen). Extreme incompetence, wish I could give a 0.To qualify, I’m a retired IT professional with 50+ years of experience and an Elite passenger. From the first app, website redesign to this new app it has been one disaster to another. Lack of simple functionality and the inability to do actions like buy an internet package (“payment information not available”, even though it shows an image of the card and I’m in the green lane). This is just embarrassing. The “would you hire this person” survey question for their agents, if I was asked about their IT staff/contractor would be never in a million years. I also notice that the only products shown for this developer are the two Princess apps. Not surprising. Must be someone’s nephew..Version: 1.0.1

Frustrating long log in time..Took 6 seconds to log in on previous version and over 20 seconds with this new version. No app should take this long to log in! Crazy..Version: 1.1.1

AllergiesThe app needs to allow the addition/write in submission of life threatening/severe food allergies that are not on the listed common items. Or indicate that the web version should be used for communicating other allergies. It also should carry them forward to other cruises, similar to how it handles the listed allergies..Version: 1.0.1

The old app was bad this one is worseCome on Princess, give your IT developers a good talking to for releasing this. It can’t possibly have gone through any testing as simple things like getting my and my wife’s loyalty status and account details correct are wrong. Trying to book a table for dinner results in the app reporting that no reservations can be found! Well of course not as I can’t make the booking! Absolute rubbish. Sack your developers and start again with someone that knows what they are doing, and don’t force your customers to use it if it doesn’t work properly..Version: 1.0.1

You used to be able to look at multiple bookings by switching which booking you want to work with on the Profile screen. Not anymore. Only see your upcoming booking. Princess phone support says they took out that feature because it was too confusing to guests. Really? DEN2 stars because of major error with the update. The new version does not allow me to add or see multiple cruises. I have three cruises within the next three months. The second and third cruises are back-to-back. I currently can only check in for the first cruise since I can no longer see the other two. If the app can only display one cruise at a time (and we have to use the app to check in…) this is a major issue. Unless this is fixed, I won’t be able to check into my third cruise until the first day of that cruise—assuming I can even see my second and third cruises! The previous version of the app displayed all of my booked cruises. There is nowhere to add a cruise, as well, which a new user might need to be able to do. Please fix this asap! Terrible amateurish appThis is one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. The Ocean Ready checklist ids not accurate. Customer service sees different things than I see. Fortunately customer service says I’m ready. We will see. Navigating excursions is awful. Tapping details forces you to return to the top of the excursion list every time. And it asks to reveries cookies at seemingly random moments. Finally I was ready to checkout for $500+ of excursions and it won’t let me. It actually freezes me out saying my session has expired. Expired! Even though I had interacted with the app of over two hours. For what the cruise costs and how Princess forces us to use the app, their developers should probably test it before making us use it..Version: 1.0.1

Glitches(1) We can't add travel companions in a dedicated tab before embarkation, as provided in the old app. How can we locate them on board using the app if we can't first add them in the app? We want to be able to add our travel companions before we board as in the old app by adding their booking numbers (Travel Companions under JourneyView). Please restore this function. (2) In order to see other cruises we've booked besides the one nearest in time, we're forced to log out and log back in again using those booking numbers. Viewing our future cruises has become a more cumbersome process than it needs to be. We should be able to log in once with our Princess credentials and then move freely among our various future bookings. The old app originally had tabs with future cruise dates that could be selected located under My Profile. Please restore this function. (3) There appears to be a lot of repetition in the app - for several functions there are multiple ways of accessing them. I fail to see the need for this. One function, one tab. Keep it simple. Released too soon?The time out issues everyone else mentioned is only one bug (and circumvented by the more cumbersome log-in method of booking number vs. name/password)—-and needing to log in every time still applies there. For the new Sun Princess, the ship map is not loaded. Very very poor. Incredibly slow & buggy.From launching (fast internet and fastest iPhone 15 Pro) it takes ONE MINUTE to move to a meaningful screen (the one after the screen with just the logo). DisappointedI thought the Princess medallion app had shortfalls but generally got around them surprised the new app is going to replace it so soon when there are bugs that need fixing ie Princess status says new to Princess and medallion blue when myself and husband are Elite. Once at the port you can’t show that you can check in using elite line. Can’t buy anything on the app with correct discount. Future booked cruises not available to view or complete. Couldn’t agree to the contract to be ‘ready to sail’ unless going into the old app and do it there. It looks like the only way to work it properly is to use both!! Tried emailing for help and solution - no response!! Hope the plan to discontinue the old app isn’t too soon. Don’t know who Princess use for their app development but they’re obviously not up to the job. If you’re going to force all your customers to use the app then it needs to be professionally designed. The only way to view each individual booking is to login in with a booking number, then log out and then login again with another booking number. Not Ready; Not Designed WellLogin issues abound. You login and then get a message that you’ve timed out right away and you get to login again. You can’t see any other cruise than your next one. Nowhere to change to different cruise so you’re out of luck working with multiple cruises. That won’t encourage multiple bookings. But most amazingly, the calendar for dining reservations isn’t limited to the cruise dates like the old app, so you’re now required to spin the dial for each and every reservation you want to make each day of your cruise. Not recognising correct statusThis app has me as new to Princess which is wrong. Have reinstalled no change , have logged in with password and booking number still says I’m new to princess. Absolutely awful.Interface is slow and buggy. Sporadically logs me out at random times. Dining reservations are randomly deleted - I’ve made them four times, including once over the phone, and they randomly disappear from the app; calling customer support I’m told they have no record of those reservations, and that the app has been having some issues. I’ve redone my reservations 3 times and called in twice, but they just randomly disappear again and again.
