✓ A little disappointedIt's a jazz composition app, but is missing many common chords such as 7#11, m11 and many more. Even the acoustic app seems to have more chords available. Also I jumped straight in writing out one of my compositions and it got wiped when I tried changing styles. There was no way of getting it back so I had to write it out again. On a positive note it loops smoothly and is good to practice improvising on..Version: 2.3
✓ Poor edit pageGood loops but the whole app is not well designed. No pause/play button in the edit screen. This basic feature has been requested for years but developers don’t listen. The app needs updates based on users’ feedback..Version: 2.5.3
✓ DisappointedI purchased this several months ago after reading some of the reviews but have become somewhat frustrated with it. As a couple of the previous reviewers have stated there are a stack of chords to choose from but some of the more basic ones are missing, there are slight pauses between the chord changes on the saxophone which make it sound rather 'glitchy' along with that the Autobus feature doesn't work, and when I contacted the developers they said that an upgrade was on its way for the new operating system ..... which has never happened! This could be a great product if the developers focused on getting the one program right instead of adding bolt ons to make extra cash!.Version: 1.1

✓ Fantastic, BUTThis app is a superb idea and initially worked great, unfortunately the examples are now so juddery its impossible to use. I bought it to use the examples and to create stuff to play the drums along to and it just judders its way through. Sort this out and it would definitely be a superb App..Version: 1.0
✓ Waste of Money.I bought the package months, if not years ago.....it is essil6 forgettable. I only used it a coupl3 of times, then it bored me half to death. Too much tedious, time-consuming fiddly effort, for very few results. It needed lots more development before being marketed. These are the standard of App that should be given free, to whet the appetite for a better, bigger, easier paid-for version.......which has yet to be developed it would seem. Save your money. ✓ Great tool, but has limitations.Really easy to use, great for knocking out ideas or practice tracks with a good array of styles. Its main drawback for me is the chords. Minor and major 7th chords all have 9ths, which very seriously limits their use. I don't always want an A minor ninth in the key of F. Some straight 7th chords and straight major or minor chords would be really useful. If I want a Bb minor 6, I'm stuck too. Otherwise a great tool..Version: 2.0
✓ Not ready yetGreat concept but not complete. Can't get Audiobus to work. The developer knows about this but it's been 6 weeks since they acknowledged the problem. It's also buggy in a number of areas. Starting can be erratic, acts strange when activating from background mode. Seriously, the dev should have done more testing prior to release. ✓ Very poor controls...Can we please.... please.... PLEASE.... have a PLAY/STOP button on the EDIT window!?! It is INCREDIBLY frustrating and hindering to workflow to keep having to switch backwards and forwards and then stop and start and back and forward again!! ✓ Developers greed.I'm revising this review because rather than upgrading or improving this app, curiously the developers bring out a series of updated versions and expect you to buy them in addition to the original non upgraded version! - appalling. Just check out the version history. Well that does it for me. My advice is stick to Chordbot -with that you get proper support and enhancements WITHOUT paying for each upgrade of the app. A great way to lose customers and loyalty - ignore the deficiencies in the previous versions and bring out additional apps with enhanced capabilities. Disgusting. Original review follows: Good but not excellent. Why? Because of the limited number of chord variations. I mean where are the unaltered basic 7ths, a straightforward major or minor chord? They are played in Jazz too! This coupled with the fact that it only comes with ten chord variations i.e., no inversion facility and no choice of bass notes is disappointing. In my opinion, the developers need to further develop this App big time or its never going to knock Chordbot off its top spot..Version: 1.1

✓ It still doesn’t work!I have an iPad Pro version 2. The app’s screen is stuck on a c major 7 9 chord and will only play the same 2 measure loop over and over again.no control buttons are displayed. Just the time line and 1 chord. I have jazz and jazz 3 apps. I re-downloaded the app many times but same result. GREAT APP IDEA BUT RIGHT NOW ITS CRAP!1. Fix this or refund my money! I am a jazz and music theory teacher and Berklee graduate and I want to recommend this app to my students but I can’t because of it’s problems. Please contact me!.Version: 2.5.1
✓ Be afraid. Be very afraid.Silly me. I didn't heed the comments about this app's frequent crashes. It seems to work OK when you play the stock "songs." But when I switch over to Edit mode to create my own progressions... Hoo Boy! Crash City! Especially during a cut and paste. I love the concept behind this app. But it's essentially a waste of 4 bucks. Just think if I had paid full price... Needless to say, I can only recommend that you stay away from this crash-happy dog of an app..Version: 1.0
✓ Latest update causing issues!Since the latest update (installed 10th April 2020), changing the tempo results in such an audio lag that it has rendered the app almost unusable for me. Prior to this I used it on a daily basis as part of my regular practice schedule with much success for many years! If this could be investigated, I'd be very grateful as it's normally a very useful practice tool!.Version: 2.5.2

✓ Compatibility list is false.Sadly, the compatibility list is not correct. It says it works with 3GS, 4, and up, but it will not run worth a darn on my iPhone 4. It cannot keep up with the changes… Literally. Every time there is a change, it hangs big time, making this app pretty useless for the devices I own at the moment. Very disappointed. Do not buy unless you have an iPhone 4S or up. (Possibly iPad 2 and up as well.).Version: 1.0
✓ Has PotentialI have been using Band in a box on my PC and this app has nowhere near the power of BIAB. For jamming over a chord progression SessionBand is useful but the backings are nowhere near the quality for public performance. I regard SessionBand as a fancy metronome; it makes a great tool for practising scales and arpeggios. Just choose a chord progression and away you go. The tracks all come with a soloist but I haven't yet found a use for this annoying feature. Thankfully there is a mute option..Version: 2.0
✓ Constantly crashes on iPodI’ve used the app on my 5th generation iPod for over a year now with no problems whatsoever. I have between 10 and 15 tracks stored on the app - that shows you just how much I used the app before. However, in the past few weeks, the app would stop responding and eventually crash. This would happen just about every other time I opened the app. I tried to delete other apps from my iPod to clear up some space so the iPod could run it better, with no effect. Maybe it’s just because I have so many tracks on the app saved, or maybe it’s because I don’t have a lot of free space on my iPod, but this app has just become extremely inconsistent on its performance. The one thing that could save me from writing this review was whether or not their support team could help me. But after emailing the link UK Music Apps has on their website for support TWICE, I’ve heard nothing back from them. This has been a very useful app in the past, but until I get this problem fixed or until I hear back from UK Music Apps, I’m giving this app 1 star..Version: 2.0

✓ No vanillaThis seems like a great idea, like band-in-a-box, but -- unless I am missing something -- you can only get fancy chords: dim, flat 9, all kinds of 7ths. If you want a C major chord (or any unadorned major chord) you are out of luck. It is like a car that will drive in loops but cannot go in a straight line..Version: 1.1

✓ Overpriced Underperforming - very disappointedI bought this app because I wanted a realistic play along that I could create sequences with. Their sales hype on the App Store makes it look like it would do exactly that. Unfortunately it is just hype. I guess they paid someone to write the first review because it absolutely does not sound like a pro backing band. 1. As others have said, the chord selection is very limited. 2. Each chord has a fixed sax riff that will just repeat every time that chord is used. Result is a stilted boring track, not atall realistic. 3. The app has memory use issues as it does not run smoothly on my iPad, so the playback sounds jerky. 4. It is not intuitive to use and setting up a sequence and editing sequences is really quite painful. 5. It seems like there are plenty of demo tracks, but they are recycled across different styles.. Buying this app on spec was a big mistake for me - I would strongly advise you not to pay good money. Andy..Version: 2.0
