✓ OutstandingAn engaging way to discover and rediscover one of humanity's most brilliant musical creations. Besides the elegant app interface and extensive and interesting background material, this is a brilliant performance of the sonata — almost as fun to watch as it is exciting to listen to. The spoken commentary is useful, although a little loud (it would be nice to be able to adjust the relative volume). Luckily it also works well displayed as captions. The synchronisation of the audio to the musical notation is near perfect, which makes it a pleasure to 'read' along while listening. The audio plays well through AirPlay (sounds great on B&W speakers). All up this is a great way to experience great musical artworks — a much deeper experience than just listening to a CD. It would be lovely to see the catalogue of works expanded over time..Version: 1.0.4
✓ Well worth the price, and then some...A beautiful piece, performed beautifully, and accompanied with a wealth of analysis that makes me want to frequently replay the performance and commentary. Don't you know I have a mortgage to pay and a family to spend time with. It's downright wrong of you to peddle these sorts of addictive substances to the innocent and the naive. ✓ Decent overallAs a pianist, this app is a valuable tool and has helped me in learning this piece. However, I was disappointed at the lack of speed throughout the piece—Martha Argerich, in comparison, plays it in just over 25 minutes instead of the 31 minutes this app takes—and the views of the performer's face throughout the piece. While I recognize that it's important for a piece to have character, to project emotions, I believe it's a waste of space to include half an hour of an old man making various facial expressions..Version: 1.0.6
✓ Fantastic App, need fix some bugs thoughI am always a Touchpress fan, and I never regret about buying any of your apps, this app is fantastic as usual. However, on my iPad 3, ios7, when I start the performance, the time displayed is always 0:00, and I can't move the script to skip. Hope you can fix this bug soon!.Version: 1.0.0

✓ The Liszt Sonata in B MinorStephen Hough's performance was superb. It was such an enriching experience to learn the background of the piece. I enjoyed the little embedded excerpts in the explanation portion of the app. Loved being able to follow the performance as the notes scrolled below. I just wished I could have somehow transferred the performance portion to my other devices so I could listen to the piece independent of the video. If that became available it could justify the price of the app. As it is if I want the music on my iPod I need to make another music only purchase and that is only if that recording is available for purchase. But I would love other pieces presented in like manner. I am planning to investigate The Orchestra also made by Touch Press. I know I won't be disappointed. Excellent app..Version: 1.0.0
✓ Is it over priced? NoThis app is just amazing only wish they did more for other pieces specially the Beethoven sonata's, but back to the app it's fantastic, Stephen is so good at bringing the science of the piece in terms of structure dynamics and the actual story, sometimes you see a master class and it come across as just a class but with this you listen to what he saying then the next time you hear the piece it all makes complete sense it's just brilliant so much in it, you really learn a lot, just a shame I can't play all of it haha.Version: 1.0.1
✓ Worth Every PennyHighly recommend this app. I'm a classical music lover but not a trained musician and I wish I could experience every masterpiece in this way. I also enjoyed The Orchestra and Beethoven's Ninth but Liszt Sonata is now my favourite of the classical music apps from Touch Press. ✓ Fantastic! Sublime!I haven't come across a Touch Press app yet that I haven't adored and this is no exception. In the Performance area you are taken through the entire thrill-ride of the sonata, following along with the score, the actual playing and the emotion of the piece - all at the same time. All the background sections are beautifully put together. It's the whole package! An app like this is all the justification I need for owning an iPad in the first place. Absolutely superb! So what am I waiting for next from Touch Press? A performance of The Rite Of Spring conducted by Simon Rattle with an option to watch the ballet performed by the Alvin Ailey Dance Company. ✓ Very Entertaining and Educational.This is a very well made app. I've used apps by this developer in the classroom before and they've been very useful in helping students develop their score following skills as well as their understanding of the pieces. ✓ Fabulous performance beautifully presentedThis is great fun. It's wonderful to watch the details of a virtuoso performance of a spectacular Liszt sonata by Stephen Hough. Still more interesting to have his articulate, revealing commentary on the piece and on technique. Beautifully done. The B Min Sonata is a brilliant choice: just the right length for the presentation but also a deeply affecting and varied piece of virtuosic piano. Hough and Liszt is a combination that rewards over and over (I've watched this movie, or parts of it, a dozen times yet it still has surprises and lessons for me)..Version: 1.0.8

✓ Great App！This is a great app I had dream for a long time! The staff note sync perfect to the video, and so as the piano roll. I think inside the app there's both video and midi tracks. Actually I have an automatic player piano which the keys can be driven by Midi signals, I just wander if this app can send midi out via a camera kit and a USB Midi-interface.
